Ah mu hubby has been very good doing stuff which I always do but hasn't learnt that hedoesnt need to tell me about it!

He hasn't got as excited as I thought he would but we have had 2 previous losses and the first hit me quite bad as had to have a d&c op to remove the baby. He didn't like seeing me so upset I think. He said won't feel real until I have a big bump. He was very quiet after our scan this week which was a shame as it made me feel better to see our healthy happy bubs wriggling. Suppose it's. Very different for a man.

We had tried for ages and was all planned. He'll be a great dad just think reality hit home a little too.

He would like a boy as would I but only because we then want a girl so she's got a big brother like I had, but really don't care as it's healthy and happy!

Whatever we have will be a spurs fan. Shock

hiya all, a man at work last week said 'liz are you expecting?' i said yes how did you know? he said htat his wife had had 6 and he just knewXmas Shock

i have been feeling awful this week, no actual sick, but feel really bloated and stuffed hours after eating meals, going from feeling sick to starving hungry, then just plain old sickSad

not as bad as some of you ladies, but not nice

joyandherboys · 21/12/2010 18:50

Hi everyone i'm due on 10th july baby no3 feel more scared this time than the last 2 times. I'm thinking it is another little boy as am having the sickness again although i have had bleeding with this one and had early scans and little one is fine at the mo.

ecat99 · 22/12/2010 13:53

Hi All! My second baby is due 15 July!
Btw, is anyone going private? I had a terrible first birth experience, so am a bit terrified of NHS. Had my first appointment and midwife seemed a bit clueless. I had emergency caesarian with my first baby and when I asked the midwife whether I will have CS again or try VBAC, she told me "whatever you want"...
Congrats to all and good luck!

munkeychops · 22/12/2010 18:12

Tea4tw0 - wishing the very best for you. Try and take it easy.

I am due 5th July! My 30th birthday is just a few days after the due date!

Congratulations everyone x

Anyone been offered swine flu jab yet? Anyone had it?

I got called in for it then they changed there mind!!

If I hadn't of asked about effects they would never have given it a second thought and just jabbed me.

What's everyone else been doing/been offered flu wise?

laurieleigh · 23/12/2010 21:06

haven't been offered the jab, but prob going to ring doctor's tomorrow after watching the news this eve. Some threads say you shouldn't have it in first trimester, but live chat states it's fine anytime. I gues as it is just the inactive virus there shouldn't be any pprobs with it ...

JimmyChoo17 · 23/12/2010 21:25

I know the media hypes things but they wouldn't say every pregnant person should have the jab if you shouldn't have it surely.

Thing is with my drs they have been dishing it out to any stage of pregnancy until I asked about effects and then they pulled out the leaflet. Had I not asked they would have jabbed me and my midwife saw no issues until nurse queried.

Such mixed and inconsistent info is not good st all.

I had a flu jab last week and I'm in my first trimester. The nurse took about half an hour looking up different documents because there was so much conflicting info. Hardly massively reassuring.

Hi there!!

I'm due about 15th July, second pregnancy, first I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks. I had the flu jab with no warnings, should I be concerned? It's normally advised I have it as I am asthmatic.....

I had terrible morning sickness, all day! Everything set me off but mainly being hungry! I seem to be coming out of the sickness now though which is good, I have been terribly terribly tired but again that seems to be improving apart from the cold I have today (flu jab?)

Anyway, that's me! Should I be showing at this stage?

johnnyd1 · 26/12/2010 20:34

my wife is either regularly vomiting or retching and now has a cold on top where her nose cant stop running. christmas wasnt fun for her bless her but managed to make her smile by finding a nice 'mum to be' oils pack from boots as a present for her. she has been told she is okay to go for the swine flu jab but not til after the 12 weeks scan (dont know why this is). hoping that things will start improving after 12 weeks (is now 8 + 5). btw hope everyone had a merry christmas (as much as you can)

Vix286 · 29/12/2010 15:50

Hi All,

I am booked in for flu jab tomorrow, I think I'd rather have the jab as I am 11 weeks this week so nearly out of first trimester and catching it sounds awful.

Sickness has mostly gone, I am always quite thirsty though?

Scan on 11th Jan on one hand I can't wait, but on the other I am terrified that there will be nothing in there............ am I weird?

lizandlulu · 01/01/2011 17:31

hiya all. how is everyone? i have my scan on the 11th too vix286 i am really really looking forward to it.

i have far more side effects if you will this time round. i feel nauseous msot of the time, no actuall sick, but just the feeling, i have sensitive smell and have gone off my usual tigi shampoo!
i have not slept properly for 3 nights. i am exhausted but just cant seem to drop off, then when i do at around 4 am i am tossing and turning all night. i am not comfortable sleeping on my front either.

is anyone else like this so early on?

i also feel really guilty for feeling like this. we were ttc for 5 months and moaning that i wasnt getting pg quick enough, now i seem to be moaning all the time about being ill. i dont do ill very well and feel very sorry for myselfSad

i am also booked in for the flu jab on tuesday, just to make myself feel worse!

lizandlulu · 01/01/2011 17:32

ALSO having problems, with food, never wanting anythingi have got in the house. i am a serious chocoholic and have not had any for over 3 weeks now, or tea which i used to drink cups and cups of. am really struggling for things to eat and drink. orange juice seems to be my drink of choice at the mo.

cara2244 · 01/01/2011 22:07

lizandlulu I am complaining all the time too! Just feel so rough. I went off chocolate with my first pg and a little bit with this one. How many weeks are you? I started to feel better around 10, although still feel sick in the evenings and mornings.

cara2244 · 01/01/2011 22:08

juice with fizzy water is a good drink for me at the moment! I am completely off still water, which I normally drink most of the time.

lizandlulu · 02/01/2011 16:21

cara2244 i will be 12 weeks on wednesday.

juice with lemonade is really good too, dh has always drank it, but its always seemed really odd to me, but tried it and its really refreshing

lizandlulu · 05/01/2011 20:34

evening, how is everyone getting on?

Badgerwife · 06/01/2011 11:31

I'm confused by the different "due in July 2011" threads. Thoughts I'd join this one since the previous once gave up the ghost on 19 Dec...!

I'm 11 weeks, due 28 July, and I am FINALLY able to get up and do stuff, after spending the whole of December in bed feeling so sick I couldn't move. We had to cancel Christmas and I still can't really go anywhere near the kitchen.

Still I managed work Tuesday and Wed, but gave up today after nearly puking just turning around in bed. My boss is in panic mode.

Booking-in appointment with midwife is next Monday, and first scan next Thursday! Can't wait.

I was amazed (and slightly horrified) to discover that I can only fit in one pair of jeans already despite having lost half a stone, and having wild thoughts about twins and triplets coming our way...

lizandlulu · 06/01/2011 19:44

wow badgerwife i thought i had it bad but nothing compared to you! i hope you begin to feel better soon.

i too have lost weight, down to not eating half as much as i usually can and would but still cant fit into any old jeans. i am living in 2 pairs of stretchy sided jeans, one of them is getting tight, but cant fill proper maternity jeans yet so am in limboSad

my belly is so much bigger than it was and i cant hold it in anymoreSad

LaylaPink · 07/01/2011 19:42

Hi all! Can I join your thread? I'm due 7 July, so just gone 14 weeks at the moment. Haven't been sick but have been sleeping a good 10 hours a night (and quite a lot during the day!) since October. No longer fit in any of my jeans, have any of you tried the "expander" button things before?

I went to the doctor's before Xmas to get a flu jab, and the locum I saw strongly told me not to have it as the risks at 12 weeks were too high and "the only people dying from it are those living in cold houses with nothing to eat" (quote). But given everything in the press I wasn't sure, so I phoned the midwife who told me definitely to have it, regardless of how far along, since there's nothing so far to show any particular risk. So I'm booked in for Monday.

x

Darlingdamsel · 07/01/2011 20:56

Moi ... July 23rd!

Badgerwife · 08/01/2011 12:49

LaylaPink, good on you for getting the jab (loving the locum's comment Shock). I was amazed to get a call from my surgery a couple of days ago offering it to me! If I hadn't done it anyway in October before I got pregnant, I certainly would get it now.
