Hi everyone,
Thought I would start a thread for all us mums to be who are due in May 2011 so that we can support each other. xx

hi emmy!
here i am!

well done with the thread - i think this will come in handy...!
my first question then is when you're all heading to the dr first? i called my gp - don't need to see the dr - just get booked in with the midwife at some point after 6 weeks. i'll be at that point at the weekend, but i work at a university so this time of year's horrendous - can't get to the midwife until 7 october - is that going to be a pain?! what do you reckon? does it even matter?!

emmywoo · 09/09/2010 21:22

I rang the docs earlier and they said that I need to go and pick up a form to complete, hand it back and they will arrnage a midwife appointment for me so I got the impression I dont need to see a doctor, very different compared to when I was pregnant with my dd.

Hello! Due at the end of the month- I just found out.

It's going to be baby n.3. My other half was a bit surprised as it was our first month trying!

I haven't yet called my GP but I remember for last pregnancy I didn't see a midwife for ages. Suedehead I don't think it matters as long as you get to 'book' your hospital and all the blood tests are scheduled.

emmywoo · 09/09/2010 21:29

Congrats anonacfr.

it was our 1st month of trying also, my husband now thinks he has super-human sperm and is driving me mad with a huge grin on his face!!!!!

Hello on here! I'm so excited just to be part of this! Am really going to appreciate sharing everyone's advice and experience, I'm so new to all of this, feel clueless!

I just booked an appt with the dr so hope that'll work out ok. Didn't say what it was for, should I have?

DJ1979 · 09/09/2010 21:37

Emmywoo - my husband's the same with the ridiculous grinning. I was afraid he was about to start high-fiving strangers in the supermarket, he's so impressed with his manliness after only 2 months trying and I was out of the country for a good bit of that time!

emmywoo · 09/09/2010 21:39

I am excited as well as alot of my friends have already had their 1st & 2nd so dont know anyone else who is expecting. When i was pregnant with my 1st I found it very lonely as again was the only one of my friends who was pregnant. I am going to pop to docs tomorrow to pick up the form I need to complete.
I forgot how worrying pregnancy is tho!!

trixie123 · 10/09/2010 13:40

pinkgirlythoughts · 10/09/2010 14:49

Hey prettywhiteguitar, I just got a positive this morning too :)
The other half is working abroad at the mo, so I've just told him via Skype, and he couldn't stop smiling either!!!

Jennifer1976 · 10/09/2010 16:38

Congrats to all! I also just found out this morning! It is my first, and I was so surprised to become pregnant in our first month of trying. V excited, but a little apprehensive too so am glad to have found a forum where we are all in the same boat.

jessi0343 · 10/09/2010 17:05

Hi everyone!!! I just found out on Tuesday I'm pregnant!! Its our first AND our first month trying so we were absolutely shocked, and same as other posters, my husband now thinks he has super sperm lol...
I called and booked an appointment with GP but not sure what to expect really? Am so new to all this!

cowboylover · 10/09/2010 17:05

Hello all, I think im going to be brave and join you!

I have had positives getting darker all week confirmed with a clearblue digi this morning. I went to see the Doc expecting loads of questions and tests but he just looked and said congratulations Smile

DH is thrilled and just want to tell our family now but cant. It was our 1st month of trying and didnt really 'try' so totally blown away and cant believe it.

cowboylover · 10/09/2010 17:09

With the Docs things apparently I didnt need to go its normal to just fill in the forms and drop off the samples so then the midwife will ring me.

doireallywant3 · 10/09/2010 17:38

congrats everyone... i've confirmed I'm expecting no. 2 in may 2011. DD1 is just 1yr old and i'm so shocked by how quickly we conceived again. Was exactly as we wanted/planned! found out on tues and was at first feeling more scared than i was 1st time around! now am a little more used to the idea and pretty happy about it. DH is over the moon and feeling v virile, bless him. am now getting sort of excited about what is to come... i loved my first pregnancy and hope for a similar one this time too. best of luck everyone xx

pissovski · 10/09/2010 17:39

Can i join? I am due very early May (poss end of April) - will be 7 weeks on monday.

This is our first. I went to the drs a week last thurs and she simply said 'congratulations' and said she will refer me for midwife appt.

emmywoo · 10/09/2010 20:23

Hi all, Am so pleased so many of you have joined and congrats to you all, there must be something in the water!!!
I didnt take much notice of first pregancy as my mum was very poorly throughout so concentrated on her before myself/pregnancy. So this time round seems very different. Looking forward to going through all of this you all. Lots of love. xx

Hi, I'm due at the start of May - 6 weeks today. I saw the doc and filled in forms, weight/height etc then given a big pack of bumf. He told me to call the midwife asap to make an appointment but have been trying all week and can't get her. We're on holiday tomorrow for a week so I guess it'll have to wait another week - is that going to be a problem?

emmywoo · 10/09/2010 20:29

Hi LabMonkey, no problem with you going on holiday, just try again when you get back. The midwife will fill out some more forms and will arrange a scan for you at around 12 weeks. Have a lovely holiday. xx

OP posts:
cowboylover · 10/09/2010 20:35

trixie123 as your not sure on your dates will you be getting an extra scan?

My last period was AWOL with negitive tests so im presuming this was this month and counting from when my last period was? Clear blue said 2 weeks but heard they are unreliable.

lizzyy · 10/09/2010 21:58

Here i am too! Lots of us in the same boat to help each other along!
Just posted my story on the other thread, as i am new to this it will take me moths to figure out how to paste it here! unless pregnancy brain gets to me first!!!

Congrats to us all
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I will prob sort out the doc/midwife appt in the next two weeks.

emmywoo · 11/09/2010 08:16

well i am 5 weeks today and feel incredibly weepy. I woke at 2am this morning and sobbed and sobbed for half an hour and the tiredness is going to kill me off, cant remember feeling this tired 1st time around. xx

OP posts:
prettywhiteguitar · 11/09/2010 08:48

hey thanks everyone, Dp was over the moon ! He is also convinced he has super sperm as it was only our second month of trying.

emmywoo I was crying at the drop a hat yesterday. I remember crying at eastenders last time I was pregnant too, shameful

Has anyone looked at maternity clothes yet ?I've been looking on ebay as I have not much from last time

Good luck everyone !!
