I can't believe how nearly every time I come on here, others are experiencing scarily similar things to me! Up to Tues this week I'd been getting more and more sickly feeling with sore boobs and feeling bloated, I've had intermittent cramps all along but no bleeding at all (thank goodness). Now yesterday and today I've not had any nausea and feel less bloated and boobs not so sore - dead paranoid that this is a bad sign....I guess we can only trust that everything's ok in there? Hmm

crowette · 17/09/2010 08:35

my boob soreness returned slightly last night, but not for long. I got all silly and emotional told OH I'm terrified something is wrong Blush but I'm still bloated, can't even sleep on my tummy due to that! Off to get a bigger pair of PJs later as mine are getting tight (his daughter staying over for a couple of nights, so no nudey sleeping for us Wink)

Feeling ever so slightly sicky since yesterday, on and off, in a blink and you miss type of thing.

I could smell the ashtray the OH and his brother had been using last night, and the kitchen bin when I went in there this morning - not pleasant.

We're telling our daughters tomorrow, is really difficult not to talk about it when his daughter is here, but we want to tell them all together, so have to wait til mine get here tomorrow morning - I can't wait Grin

How is everyone else feeling this morning?

trixie123 · 17/09/2010 09:32

feeling good - especially as DS1 very unusually has gone back to bed after getting up at six! Can mumsnet and watch ANTM repeats at the same time! Am telling parents today - am going to put DS1 in a Big Brother t shirt and see if they notice!

crowette · 17/09/2010 09:59

Haha @ the t shirt Trixie - I'm thinking of getting my eldest a 'I'm NOT the mummy' t shirt for when she's seen with her baby brother or sister, as she'll be 17 by then!

cowboylover · 17/09/2010 10:22

Hey all great to catch up on the pages and im sorry its not been a good few days for a few of you.

I have not been on in a few days as been so totally uncontollably tired I cant say awake long enough! I fell alsleep in the car after 2mins with DH talking to me!

Boobs are not as sore but craps are less regular but a long stronger so been worrying. I have lived in my PJ's as my tummy is sore to touch and I have gone off my food totally.

missemmajane · 17/09/2010 11:05

Hi everyone

Any advice on when to tell people - I am only 5 weeks pregnant but am finding it really hard keeping my mouth shut especially to my parents - and my friends are going to start asking questions as they no full well I like a glass of vino or two!!! Everywhere seems to advise keeping quiet until 12 weeks - I don't think I can for that long....

When is everyone else going to spill the beans????
xx

funnylittlekaty · 17/09/2010 13:32

I've told Mum, Dad, sis, DH's Mum, Dad, Bro,SIL, Granma and Grandad. My godmother (we're v close), friend at work and 3 friends guessed when I didn't drink at a recent 30th. Hmmmmm, didn't seem like so many people before I wrote them all down! The thing is I spose that if anything went wrong I'd want those people to know I was going through it. Maybe I've gone a bit daft.

LifesComplicated · 17/09/2010 14:04

Afternoon all. Hope you're all ok. This thread's really fast and I've not been on in a couple of days so forgive me if I get muddled or seem rude for not replying to things. Welcome to all the new members.

I had the appt with GP yesterday- after an internal exam she thinks I might be at least about 8 weeks. She's made-up a due date of 29th April (she doesnt have much more to go on at the mo). I hope I can still be a member of this forum tho. She gave me the DOH Pregnancy Book and the midwife's phone number to call asap. I called her on her mobile and was dismayed to speak to someone who was rude, hurried and disinterested. I know pregnancy must be routine for a midwife but a few initial social niceties would've been nice. Instead it went like this...
Me: "Hello there, is this the MW?
MW: "Yes. What?"
Me: "Sorry. It's just that, er, Ive just found out I'm pregnant and my GP told me to book in with you please."
MW: [audible sigh and then in very difficult-to-understand broken english:] "Oh ok. [long pause]. Im very busy for the next couple of weeks. [barks] When you due?
Me: Err well that's a bit..
MW [interupting]: I'll see you in 3 weeks. Goodbye.
Me: Errm hang-on please!

....anyway, you get the jist. Just what I need when I'm being treated for major mental illness, have a high-risk foetus (due to all the meds I'm on), its my first preg, am terrified and really need a reassuring midwide. I did cajole her into giving me an appt next Thursday tho. She's coming to see me at home. Will this be the 'booking' appointment I keep hearing being mentioned? She didnt even tell me. Still no clearer about when I'll have a dating scan or whose responsibility it is to book it.

Anyway, sorry for ranting ladies. How are we all today?

FirstTimerMay - any more news? Keeping everything crossed.

xxxx

LaraMi · 17/09/2010 14:48

Hello Ladies

I think I'm about six weeks pregnant. St Georges in South London have given me my booking in appointment tomorrow. Very excited but also petrified in case I'm not pregnant for some reason!
I am terribly paranoid of miscarrying / having an ectopic pregnancy or ending up having a chemical pregnancy. (Have googled all the stats). Took my tests ten days ago (inc one at the docs) and three tests confirmed I'm pregnant but am still paranoid. At the same time I'm too scared to take another test now in case it turns out to all have been an illusion or my tadpole has disappeared.
I also run to the loo every two minutes and literally examine for anything that could vaguely constitute signs of a miscarriage.
As for normal pregnancy symptoms, I was really worried as I have had a few light symptoms but nothing major (a bit of sickness, terrible wind / gas, bloating, fatigue spots etc) but at the same time I wondered if I'd made these things up cos I know what I know.
Boobs felt worse last week than this week. I also keep poking them! I think two veins have appeared but again think I'm just making that up cos I didn't exactly scrutinise my breasts before!
Wake up every morning hoping I'll feel sick (!) and also check myself in the mirror to see whether my body looks different.
Only told my OH and my mum - don't want to tell anyone else until my 12 week scan

cowboylover · 17/09/2010 15:44

We have just told parents and SIL who I am very close to and really excited!

It seams like a really long time til we have a scan which expect will be about the end of October.

I am looking forward to meeting the Midwife as she sounded nice on the phone. I hope those that didnt have a nice time trying to meet her that it just turns out shes not good on the phone!

Kazmog · 17/09/2010 16:05

Hello and congrats to all! I am due on the 1st of May - excited but nervous. I am 39 (so an old bird!)and unfortunately in Feb of this year I gave birth to a son that was stillborn so I am a little anxious. Due to my complications I have already had a scan and saw a little heartbeat which was very exciting but I am finding it difficult to to fully accept that I am pregnant again - even the morning sickness isnt convincing me! good luck to you all

mojo1981 · 17/09/2010 17:17

Hi guys, i am due 6th of may (date scan depending)so i am 7 weeks today, i have had the niggly pains (bit like stitch) too and my boobs have doubled in size already too!! lol

This is our first baby so like a lot of you i am clueless too! Think my mum is getting fed up with phone calls of "is.......normal?" lol

had a few days of nausea but no vomiting but i have a feeling that is going to come yet.

Been to the doctors to be referred to a midwife so just waiting to hear when.

exciting thing is he or she will be due two weeks before my 30th birthday!

Biggest thing thats doing me in is the tiredness, full day at work and i'm asleep by 20:30!

suedehead · 17/09/2010 18:23

hi ladies
glad to hear you're all doing well today. i'm having an odd symptom day. been up and down to the loo every 10 minutes, and have just come home for a little cry (about nothing!)

still just had a bit of really mild nausea but no real sickness. wondering whether i'll be one of those lucky ladies who doesn't get any... just like cowboylover, i'm off my food too. not like me at all!

p.s. thanks also to cowboylover for giving me a little chuckle about your craps being less regular - guessing you missed out an M... Wink

trixie123 · 17/09/2010 18:32

Lifescomplicated go and have a read of my post on AIBU about my booking in app. with the midwife - not impressed.

missemmajane I generally thought it was ok to tell people that I would also tell if something were to go wrong. That includes close family and a reasonable number of baby type friends who have had pregnancies, miscarriages etc. Don't believe it is bad luck and means you can share the various ups and downs. Also if you are anything like me you won;t be able to fend off the questions for 12 weeks about why you are not drinking!

babyjanie · 17/09/2010 21:27

Hi all

Just started reading this thread and thought it was such a great idea to share experiences! Found out I was preganant a week ago but still don't believe it! Me and hubby are so excited but I'm so scared something will go wrong. Very confused about how far along I am as Dr doesn't seem to know although he thinks it could only be a couple of weeks as HGC level is very low. I think i'm further than that but what do I know!! The problem is, I don't know when I ovulated because I was having completely irregular periods as came off the pill in April, so no idea!!

Does anyone know if I might get an early scan because of this? I just need to know - it's driving me crazy!

Been having the cramps on and off all day since Monday. Does anyone know at how many weeks these cramps usually start?

Congrats to you all - it's so exciting xxxx

missemmajane · 18/09/2010 10:59

Hi babyjanie - congrats!!

I found out on Monday that I was pregnant with my first baby (im 5 weeks today) - the cramps had started a couple of days before so I just thought my period was on its way - have had the cramps on and off all this week, after visiting my doctor and lots of 'googling' cramping is very common in early pregnancy, my doctor said from almost 2-4 weeks it can happen and its nothing to worry about it not accompanied by bleeding!

Thanks guys for your advice on telling people, I think you are all right, its nice to let close family and friends know, to be honest I might burst if I don't spill soon!!!

VintageLady · 18/09/2010 11:19

Hello All, I'm new to MumsNet and new to this pregnancy lark! I'm just over 5 weeks abd still feeling a little overwhelmed. Been to the doctor and my due date is May next year. Scared myself stiff with all the literature they give on everything that can go wrong! I got pregnant very quickly - after only two months of trying! Hubby is very pleased with his super swimmers! I feel a bit terrified but also excited.

This is going to sound very shallow but does anyone know if it's ok to dye your hair in pregnancy? Was going to avoid in the first trimester but what about after that?

Thanks guys!

designergirl · 18/09/2010 12:15

Hi, I just found out on Thursday that I'm pregnant with DC4! Am still in shock. Acc to Mumsnet calculator will be due 19th May 2011. We have three girls already: 6,3 and 2. We dont mind wht sex our next one will be!

missemmajane · 18/09/2010 13:25

Hi VintageLady... congrats on your news. I am about 5 weeks too!

I asked my doctor re: dying my hair and he said it is fine - nothing to worry about. I have also looked at the internet and it seems that the answer is that it is fine to dye your hair!

crowette · 18/09/2010 15:06

well I feel pretty stupid :(

Had really bad bloating last night, very uncomfortable - started bleeding this morning, so took trip to A&E and after examinations, they tested my urine and it turns out its negative. The Dr was pretty offish with me, as though I'd wasted her time ... thing is, I'd done 4 tests during the week, 3 different brands, and all showed postive. I had very tender and enlarged boobs, bloating etc. She said I could never have been pregnant, as there would be a trace of HCG in the hospital test still, so it's not even classed as a miscarriage - well it feels like one to me!

I'm devastated. Need to go to my Dr on Monday to see what's happened - he didn't bother to test himself as he said with 4 positive tests, his wouldn't be any different.

I'm now told I'm just having a late period.

We were going to tell our girls today, but instead had to tell them why I was going to A&E - now I have to tell them I wasn't even pregnant in the first place.

funnylittlekaty · 18/09/2010 15:59

Oh no Crowette, that's terrible news. I'm so sorry. I thought it was possible to get a false negative, but impossible to get a false positive. And 4 of them! Something v strange is going on. And you had symptoms too. Maybe it is one of those missed miscarriages we're all petrified of and they didn't see it at the hospital. I'm so sorry. I'm sure you'll join us on here again soon. Thinking of you xxxx

VintageLady · 18/09/2010 16:46

Oh, that's terrible news and what the hell was the Dr doing being so off with you?!

Thanks for the hair dye advice missemmajane.

suedehead · 18/09/2010 17:58

so sorry crowette - what a rollercoaster - hope you're ok. again, what's with the doctor? how rude and unsympathethic. good luck at the GP next weekx

crowette · 18/09/2010 20:46

thank you ladies :)

The doctor there was truly awful - she made me feel like I was making it all up. Didn't even say 'sorry, the results show negative' - just more like 'our tests are more accurate, you must have been mistaken and have wasted my time'. She also just waved my notes and bloods in my face and said she wasn't going to bother processing them or passing them on, then walked out.
