Hi everyone,
Thought I would start a thread for all us mums to be who are due in May 2011 so that we can support each other. xx

Congrats to everyone on the thread! I'm due May 4th.

I haven't booked in with a midwife yet because I haven't chosen which hospital I would like to go to - I've narrowed it down to Kings or UCH in London and trying to get on a tour is a nightmare. So many people showed up at Kings on Thursday we were turned away. Going to see UCH Monday so hopefully it will be a better experience.

Anyone else considering these hospitals?

crazydayz · 11/09/2010 11:20

Hello all,

I'm due 14th May. Saw the doctor yesterday - what a let down, she didn't even weigh me or take my BP and now I have to wait another 4 weeks until I see the midwife! It's hard just weighting isn't it? Does anyone know how scan appointments are generated i.e. will the midwife book this when I see her?
As you can tell this baby will be our 1st and I am a little clueless!

kiwidreamer · 11/09/2010 11:44

kitton I dont mean to be rude and maybe I'm missing / unaware of something but surely its best to get along to see the midwife at your drs surgery and then look at your hospital options a bit later on. I had three hospital options for DS1 and didnt have to decide until I was well into my pregnancy, yes its important and you need to be comfortable with the place you chose to give birth but you are only just six weeks along(as am I) so first things first perhaps and make an appointment to see your midwife and go from there??

crazydayz I remember the day I got my BFP with my first pregnancy and rang the Dr all excited only to be told the midwife would see me when I was 9 weeks along. Couldnt believe it, why werent they as excited as me LOL!!! Anyhow... your midwife will sort the scan details at your booking appointment, just keep it in the back of your mind in case she doesnt mention it but I'm sure she will get it sorted for you.

Am due on May 1st, 2 days after my 30th birthday! It's my first pregnancy so I've not got a clue what's going on or what to expect. All I know is that I'm shattered! Am worried about how I'm going to work full time feeling like this. Also, my booking appointment with the mw isn't til 13th October, that seems like ages away but apparently is normal.
Can't can't can't wait to get the 12 weeks and then can stop worrying every single twinge is the beginning of the end iwkwim.
Congrats to everyone x x x

trixie123 · 11/09/2010 20:30

hey cowboylover. No I will probably just book the scan for end of October (which fits in with various other things anyway) and go from there. I do drive DP a bit nuts though because so far, like last time I have no symptoms so I buy PG tests just to "check". Only the cheapie ones though Smile!

funnylittle katy the tiredness will pass but for the mo just try to go to bed early (like 8.30 if you need to) and try to keep bottles of water /squash with you at work to perk you up if possible. What do you do? Booking app is a bit of an anti climax if everything seems ok they just give you a load of paper! Just try to relax, the time will soon pass - quicker if you spend lots of time on here and browsing for maternity clothes!

emmywoo · 11/09/2010 20:42

Hi guys.
I have been having a few pains on my right hand side, tummy button height, it is a dull ache. Anyone else had anything else like this. xxx

Hi Ladies and a big congratulations to you all.

I am expecting my third child on 4th May 2011. DH and I are very happy but with DD1 being 8 and DS1 being nearly 5 and finding their independence it is going to be a big change to have a new baby in the house again - wonderful but tiring. So at the moment it is a rollercoaster of calmness (because we have done it all before) and nerves (are we too old for all of this) but of course much excitement and happiness.

Looking forward to sharing the experience with you and glad to share the news with someone other that DH.

Marwoir · 12/09/2010 05:16

Congratulations everyone,
I found out yesterday afternoon - I'm about 3 wks - and so far, haven't told dh (it was post a row, he was in a sulk then i had to go out. so now i'm wide awake at 5.20 am with cramps, nausea and desparate to wake him up and tell him!)
It's our first, and this is 4th or 5th month of trying. I've been lurking on mn a while. So nice to have a space to share stuff!
Keeping fingers crossed all goes well.

Clueless79 · 12/09/2010 10:02

hey, it's really reassuring to read everyone else is going through the same concerns/experiences - emmywoo, my emotions are all over the place too. Feeling really really anxious - esp about Docs appt tomorrow - terrified of going at the best of times! Reassured that it may not be too invasive or scary!

(PS - was DJ1979 before but decided on a name change for added anonymity over the next few months!)

Clueless79 · 12/09/2010 10:08

Emmywoo - I've also been suffering quite a few cramp type tummy pains - some quite severe and not sure whether or not to be worried, I guess worrying's not going to help at all and we'd know if anything was really wrong?

emmywoo · 12/09/2010 10:18

Hi Clueless. I have been on so many websites this morning and alot of them have said the same thing: tummy cramps and dull aches are quite normal as everything is changing inside and moving about. I think I will see what happens, they do state that really only time to worry is when bleeding as well which am not. Fingers crossed you ok and let me know how you get on at docs tomorrow. xxx

Clueless79 - I've been getting a little cramping too, I keep feeling like my period is coming. Apart from that, sore boobs and starting to get a bit tired. I know I will magnify any symptom over the next few weeks and think that something is wrong. Other than that, I think the surprise of being pregnant is starting to sink in now.

I have also changed my name for anonymity. Was jennifer1976.

crazydayz · 12/09/2010 11:03

Emmywoo, Clueless and Firstpregnancy Thank you so much for ahring about the cramping - I have been getting cramps and dull aches too! You have really reassured me that as there are 4 of us experiencing this then it must be 'normal'!

Marwoir Have you told DH yet? What did he say??

crazydayz · 12/09/2010 11:03

Above read sharing for ahring!!

Rollercoasteryears · 12/09/2010 11:57

Hello and congratulations to all! I'm 7 weeks on Tuesday so due 3rd May 2011. DC2 - am SO much more tired than I remember being last time - looking after DS1 (22 months) obviously isn't helping!

Am also looking pregnant already - quite how I'm going to keep this quiet at work till after 12 week scan I don't know. Anyone else preg with DC2 and expanding alarmingly rapidly this time?!

ScarletKitty · 12/09/2010 12:19

hi girls - congrats and hugs to all!

I am pg with number 3 - found out Thursday and its taking a while to sink in. Its come as a great shock to both of us as we weren't even trying and thought we were having no more!

I don't know how many weeks I am but I reckon I'll be due about May...

To be honest, I don't know how I feel about it, I feel so wretched all day long, that I can't seem to think straight. I don't remember feeling this bad with the first two and I just can't stop eating either.

My DD has just started school this week, and DS will be 2 next month so I was kind of on count down to him starting preschool and me getting back to work, and this has thrown everything!

Can't decide if i'm happy or not! Just so confused and worried about how I will cope with three!!

Argh! x

cowboylover · 12/09/2010 13:54

This is number one for me Rollercoasteryears so nothing to compare it to but my tummy is so sore to touch I cant handle most of my nomal clothes on it and seams to cut in! I keep thinking I look bigger but might just be my imagination and the fact I feel so bloated.

I really tired but cant sleep with a million toughts going through my head

lizzyy · 12/09/2010 14:47

Hey scarletkitty, this is number three for me too. Ours was planned but it doesnt seem real! Smile
I feel quite good atm, but i am waking really early with a massive bladder!! Then run around like a mad woman all morning....energy levels burn out around 3PM!!
My eldest DS has just started school and my other one DS due to go next year, So i will be able to enjoy the summer off next year! x
Give yourself some time to get your head around things, what did DH say??

not really sure when to book in for GP/midwife think i am due around 15 May, so maybe in a couple of weeks? Hmm

suedehead · 12/09/2010 19:01

hi clueless et al - I'm getting some cramping too - someone on one of the forums here described it as like a tugging pain and i think that sums it up really.

the thing i've found different is that, when i have period pains, they get better when i move, but if i'm having some of these cramps, they flare up if i move suddenly. guess that's how i know they're different.

just back from a couple of days with the MIL. am convinced she sussed with my lack of wine!

re midwife / dr appointments, i'm due in on 7 october, so a bit of time to wait yet, just because of getting the time off for work. wish it was sooner!

right, my mumsnet pregnancy guide book has just arrived from amazon, so am off to sink my teeth into it Smile

lizzyy · 12/09/2010 19:05

Oh my god! My breasts have doubled in size since i last posted!!!

And there was me thinking it cant be true as i have no real big symptoms.Well have have two now!! lol Shock

CMD83 · 12/09/2010 19:10

Hi all!!
Congratulations to everyone looks like we having ababy boom in may!!!
I am expecting no 2 my DS is 3 and a half. We haven't told him yet don't really know when will be the right time as I don't want it to drag in for him!! Was really sick with no 1 but feeling great this time - long may it continue xx

cowboylover · 12/09/2010 19:34

Like I said I dont know what is in my head and what is actually happening!

I feel atugging pain in my tummy and im sure my boobs are bigger but dont know if that is possible, got loads more questions than answers and its 7.30 and im seriously thinking of going to bed.

Clueless79 · 12/09/2010 20:09

Suedehead - that's such a help cos that's exactly what I've found - the cramping generally starts when I get up or when I sit down after moving around suddenly. It's not been so bad today anyway, fingers crossed.

Am now worrying that I'm not very nauseous and haven't actually been sick. Honestly...I know I'm being pathetic, I'll worry about anything health related and am a bag of nerves about seeing the GP tomorrow! I'll have to get myself out of this frame of mind or the next 9 months will be torture and no good for the poor baby!

cowboylover · 12/09/2010 20:26

Has anyone thought about when they are going to tella nyone else but there partner yet?

I know my mum is going to start to worry if she sees more go pale and sit down a few more times.

Me and DH where discussing just telling our parents at 8 weeks or maybe earlier and everyone else after the scan. Not to think the worst but if it does not go to plan they are the people who we want to support us.

Cheers x

lizzyy · 12/09/2010 20:32

I agree cowboylover Tell close family first and then others after scan.

But when to tell work?? Then everyone will find out......Confused
