After reading the AIBU thread about potty training, I thought, I'll start a support thread.
I'm about to start training this week with the help of my mum Blush and DS not at nursery.
Who care to join me to share (and not judge) our experiences and successes?

HI, my lo now pees on cue when I put him on the potty, but has today for the first time (we're on day 12) asked to go wee. So that's some encouragement. If I don't take him/remind him, he tells me immediately during the wee or just afterwards, hope this will improve!
Poos has been less successful, most have been accidents, with 2 and a half in the potty, but I'm getting the feeling that he's slowly getting the hang of it. Don't feel like stopping now, we've come so far!

Joining in as well for some support...
Today I'm training DD2, at 3.5 she should be well ready by now but is not keen at all. We've got knickers on, covers on the sofa and lots of spare clothes - she's sitting on the potty now but no output yet.

One very large wee in potty 10am - so far so good

Hi ferret, that sounds like impressive progress considering it's your first day; well done your DD!

Poos are still a major issue here but we are going softly, softly and letting DS put on a nappy when he asks for one as that's the only way to avoid massive trauma for everyone concerned.

Thanks feralgirl, I'm pleased with progress today. Maybe waiting so late has helped.

Final count today: 2 wees in potty, 2 wees in pull-up, 1 big job in pull-up. Now back in nappy for the night.
She's taking herself to the potty now - gets very mad if i try to sit her on there against her will.

We'll have another go tomorrow.

Well, we have been a way for the past week and are probably at something like about 90% success rate - I ended up bringing back a whole bag of clothes as she did a lot better than I had predicted (I took so many extra clothes!!)

Today though, the first day back - we went into town and she wet herself twice!

I think she can do it but gets lazy sometimes! She has now put on a pull-up as she 'wants a poo' - although is generally happy to wee and poo anywhere (potty, pottette, toilet seat or on a toilet!)

Onwards and upwards...?

Wees are brilliant here! DS hasn't peed himself in days which is just ace and he is right into wild weeing in the open Grin

Christ knows how long it's going to be before he figures out that doing a poo isn't going to kill him though Hmm

Heard an amazing tip yesterday - the MAGIC WEE/POO!! Basically if they don't need to go to the loo accoridng to them but you think they do/should/ want to before going out you say well if you go and then you do a wee or poo then it's a magic wee/poo!

It works -"Mummy I did a magic wee!!!". Lol. Love what they believe. Mainly as DS still not great at being honest about when he wants to poo and using it as a way of getting attention. Sure it'll happen eventually but glad to be three weeks in and washing fewer clothes/ throwing away fewer pants! Bleurrrgh.
