Aargh! I disappear for one day and I can't keep up!
Books, whatever's wrong? Anything we can do to help? I hate thinking of you feeling so low you cried and not having anyone to share with. Please come and rant if it'll make you feel better.
Dog, poor you with such a tiny amount of sleep and then to have it broken by a middle of the night accident as well - I hate it when that happens. We have to get ds1 up at 11 ish every night or he wets the bed. Its caused by the irritation/inflammation from the gluten (which we are slowly weaning him off again in the hope of avoiding a really bad reaction this time).
Re washing machine. Have you thoroughly cleaned the door seals? Sometimes all sorts of yukky stuff gets trapped in the seal and that can make your washing stinky. What brand of cleaner did you use. I use this one and it always seems to do the trick. Tescos sell soda crystals by the way.
Tree, labrynthitis is horrible, you poor thing. Dh had it a couple of years ago and was off work for weeks. It makes you feel so sick and dizzy. He had stugeron rather than stemitil and I think that doesn't make you as sleepy. Dh could do nothing but lie flat for weeks when he had it. Really hope you only get a mild case and are up and about again soon.
Well, my news is that I spent all day at the hospital today - again. Had an 11.00 am appointment, but was told they were running nearly two hours late when we arrived, but had bleeped another doctor to come and help. So waited for an hour and a half in a sweltering waiting room, telling my Mum what a fraud I felt surrounded by people with massive casts on their limbs etc and that perhaps we should just go home, then got called in to see a Consultant who was really cross that the local hospital had messed it up and that meant I had been walking on it for 13 days and sent me to get a cast.
Unfortunately the lady that fitted them was on lunch, so I had to go away and get a coffee and come back again, by which time I was in a queue, despite being back 10 mins early.
Anyhoo, the upshot is that I am now sporting a rather fetching Aircast, which for the uninitiated is a toture device that resembles a cross between the leg of a stormtrooper and the leg of a transformer. Its mahoosive and has 4 valves so that the interior can be pumped up in different areas to best support the ankle. I also have to use two crutches, as apparently people tend not to adapt well to them at first and fall over a lot, as they are very high of the ground and have a rocking sole. Technician recommended wearing my MBT on the other foot to even things up a bit.
Unfortunately, I have been in agony ever since it was fitted. I guess because it is holding my foot in the right position, whereas I have been holding it in the most comfortable position for almost a fortnight.
I have to wear it for two weeks, then go back for them to see if its working. Apparently, my foot should have been immobilised as soon as possible after the accident.
If the bone doesn't knit I may still have to have surgery, depending on where the chip settles.
Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!
