Oh and Sunshine and Ethelred - thanks for the tip on the sun with laundry. I need to soak a few bits tomorrow - I normally just dry things on the airer indoors but I shall hang them out instead. Thank you for the tip.

I popped into Primark today to get Holly some more PJs... and got four pairs, a pack of 7 onesies, 5 pair of socks and two romper suits. I know I am turning into my Mother, but they are really good quality for the price and wash really well! Spent about £20 on it all. Bargain!

Morning everyone!

I'm off on a hen do today, leaving dh in charge! Imogen seems to be mostly taking the bottle well now during the day (and last night even the bedtime bottle after a short battle!). Going to leave it maybe a week and then try a bottle if she wakes in the night. I'm hoping that she might not bother to wake up if she doesn't get boob in the night (wishful thinking no doubt!).

Hope everyone else enjoys what fun activities you've got planned (or the football!).

Morning all,
Great news here. Holly officially slept through for the first time.

The last two nights she has only woken (unusually) for a feed early - around 11pm - then slept through. However last night I put her to bed as normal at 7pm. Next time I heard her was at 6.30am just before DH's alarm went off! Wish I had combined it with an early night for me - but nevermind! What a good girl. We were out in town from 11am - 6pm so she didn't have much 'play' time at home so I wasn't sure how well she would sleep.

I can't remember who planted the idea of Yorkshire puddings in my head - but thank you! I asked DH to make some for her and they are brilliant. Really easy for her to hold on to and a good snack food. And am assuming rather filling. Bought a magic bottle and some formula yesterday so I am going to try her on some today, just to start to transition from breast milk.

Hendo - have a great day - what is the plan for the hen do?

Klerka · 26/06/2010 09:46

Should probably say - it's a Avent magic bottle - I didn't meet a Genie . I read on here somewhere that it might be a good choice for weaning onto formula without using a teat.

Also meant to say congratulations to Sunshine's DD on winning all her races, a big well done to her. That is very impressive. I remember the feeling of shuffling up to the freshly painted white line on the field and the smell of the freshly cut grass on sports days... so nerve wracking, I was rubbish at running, but not so bad at javelin actually... not totally useless.

hendo77 · 26/06/2010 10:13

Well done Holly on the sleeping through! Still very here.... one day, one day...

Plan today is - we're making a pop video (Holding Out for a Hero I think). The hen is the main singer then we're all backing singers/dancers i think. They do make up and hair and acessories (think feather boas!) so hopefully I can just hide in the background but should be OK. Then we're going for afternoon tea somewhere then back to the hotel where lots of them are staying for drinks and getting ready for going out (they've allowed about 2 hours for this, but seeing as I don't even own make up I'm not sure I'll need al lthis time!!!) and then we're going out for tapas dinner I think. I am ringing dh in the afternoon to see how Imogen is and I might come home before the dinner. I'm sure she'll be fine, but it will give me an excuse to come home early if I'm not in the modd for any more!!!!

It was me Klerka

Glad Holly likes them as much as Catherine does.

She did 7.30 till 10 to 6 last night so nearly whole night too. Felt nice and rested for my run this morning...just waiting for the results. Want to be under 33 mins but won't be too disappointed if not. It was really hot this morning!!

AlCrowley · 26/06/2010 10:26

Yey 31 mins 39 seconds

Beat my PB by 1 min 50 secs !!!

Klerka · 26/06/2010 10:35

Wow Al - well done! I am so impressed.

Thank you for the Yorkshire pudding advice (and sorry for forgetting it was you ) They are brilliant though aren't they.

Hendo - have a great time... what chance of seeing the video?

hendo77 · 26/06/2010 10:41

None! At least I hope it's going to be none...

I have left dh with strict instructions to purchase the ingredients for yorkshire puddings when he goes shopping today!

Wow - Al that's a fantastic time!

Well done Al .

Been to the beach for a birthday picnic lunch for one of Laura's little friends. Think ds ate more sand than food tbh [bad mother emoticon]. Having a little while in the house then I think we'll go in the garden.

I was very weepy yesterday, mainly about stopping bf but just keep having lots of sad thoughts, feeling better today though and going out with dp for a meal tonight.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 26/06/2010 19:09

Omg How hot has it been today??!

Twycross was busy and hot and busy.
Theyve replaced the doors in the chimp enclosure No more posting bits of paper to each other.
Al, Twycross will be showing the match in the gorilla outpost cafe if your BIL is interested! They have posters up advertising it. The first thing you must do once you get there is go into the toilets in the new main building and look in the mirror Take Alex with you aswell he'll think it's good!

Going to do a bit of tidying now and then die in front of Doctor Who.

Did I mention it's too fucking hot???

AlCrowley · 26/06/2010 20:55

Toilets int he main building? OK. Will report back tomorrow night

It's supposed to be hotter tomorrow!!

sparklycheerymummy · 26/06/2010 21:30

I didnt manage to stop bf.....ended up in floods of tears and in a right state! but he really is losing interest.. going to try bottle first thing on Monday and see how he goes. He is sleeping 7pm till 5am ....dummy plug in then back off till 7am. but he is still demanding and on the go all day!!!!! He is now trying to climb up furniture .....he is on his hands and knees....next thing he is up banging on the tv. but he is soooo wobbly i have to be inches away so i can grab him when he topples. he has hurt himself too on his door bouncer......got a friction burn on his thumb which looks sore!!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 26/06/2010 23:50

Did you watch DrWho ABF?? Was mega!

I am also too hot!

AlCrowley · 27/06/2010 08:52

Alex has said that he is looking forward to seeing Kangaroos and Dinosaurs at the Zoo. I think he may be disappointed!!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 27/06/2010 09:04

LOL. We bought a wooden carved bearded dragon on a log (is nicer than it sounds!!) from the giftshop, when Jake asked what it was I told him a dragon. He then started complaining that we didnt take him to see the dragons! He seems to think everything they sell in the giftshop is a reflection of what you see at the zoo!
Take lots of water, I had to pay £2.70 for 2 small bottles of the stuff yesterday.
(they ought to sell it cheaper than that especially on such hot days)

Sparkly, that's great about your DS climbing about (well not about the falling obviously!) It seems as if Elizabeth is ages away from that stage yet. She only just started sitting up properly yesterday!!

Yes, I watched DrWho. It was amazing. Am gutted we have to wait till Christmas to see the lovely Matt Smith again!

AlCrowley · 27/06/2010 09:07

Catherine's not even sitting properly!! She's getting better but still falls forward or backwards within a few seconds if you let go.

Will remember about the water, thanks ABF

Gonna miss Matt Smith. Never had a crush on a Doctor before! Missed last nights as DH was out and wanted us to watch it together but it's recorded on the PVR so we'll catch it tonight

hendo77 · 27/06/2010 18:33

Happy Birthday LaDiDaDi - hope you had a lovely day and got lots of cake!

Imogen has decided she no longer likes the bottle - not sure if it has anything to do with me being out all day yesterday at a hen do so weill have to start again tomorrow!

Happy Birthday LaDiDaDi. Hope you had a lovely day and got the cake you wanted.

We had a lovely day at the zoo. It was really quite in the morning and almost deserted by 3pm funnily enough. Really proud of the children too as both were really well behaved even though it was really, really hot. Catherine wouldn't be passed to anyone else as usual but was happy and smiley as long as I was holding her and when she got to sit in the front seat of the pushchair. We were a bit late leaving so we stopped off at a service station for dinner and both ate really well too - even though Catherine's 'highchair' was just being propped up against the baby bag with my hand on her tummy while I fed her some jarred baby food with a teaspoon - I'd organised lunch but had forgotten about dinner! She ate loads though. Hoping for another good nights sleep. She slept from 8 till 5.30 last night so that's the first 2 nights in a row that we've had an almost full nights sleep.

No idea what the football result is - DH is watching it now - Guessing it's not good though as one of my Facebook friends is "close to tears"!!

Hope everyone had a lovely day and that Imogen decides she likes bottles again soon.
