madmouse · 10/09/2010 22:25

Well done to you Simpson - you got through it!

Well done LaT for supporting our first bf lady Smile

Nathan's making language progress - he's learned to say 'No' - the word plus head shake. And he used is allllll the time now Grin

Love it. He's also bossing daddy around: 'Daddy come', 'Daddy play' 'Make it go!'

He's doing really well Smile

gingeme · 13/09/2010 14:24

Phew Simpson well done for getting through that. All done now.
Grin Nathan you are amazing xxxxx
LaT how is S doing with her lunch? What did you both decide?
JKS how is T doing too?
George is doing realy well with wees on the toilet now , thanks to pre school, absolutely no poohs on it yet though Hmm still doing those in his pants Angry
DH nad I went for our induction at the gym today. Feel wobbly just after trying the equipment out so goodness knows how we are going to feel whne we do it for real next week Shock though the lovely guy did say we did it the right way round by losing weight then using the gym rather than using the gym to lose weight iyswim?
Edward is at nursery next week. He can't wait though he is spending this week at his old pre school with George so isn't too bored thank goodness.
Right time for a quick coffee before George wakes up.
xxx for all

simpson · 13/09/2010 15:44

How the f**k do you tell a 5yr old that he will not be seeing his daddy again??

Sad Angry

Its all gone tits up so H will not be coming over again.

latrucha · 13/09/2010 16:34

Simpson - I have no idea. I'd be tempted to wait a bit until I had calmed down and had time to think about it though.

Madmouse - that is wonderful.

Gingeme - we decided to persist. The first time she ate four mouthfuls of ham and four of potato. The second time she hoarded evrything in her cheeks until no one was looking and then spat it. At least she's putting it in her mouth which is an advance!

JustKeepSwimming · 13/09/2010 20:04

Hi everyone.

Simps - grr and :( i have no idea really but i would just settle for Daddy's away for a bit, not sure when he's net visiting etc, vagueness and try (hard i know!) to make it sound like you really don't know rather than you know and it's never, IYKWIM.
Sympathies. And i never got round to saying a massive well done to you for coping with the other day.

LaT - sounds like some sort of progress, hope she starts to eat it soon!

T still loving school, though he is knackered today and it's only Monday!! And he's always starving when i pick him up so new plan is to take food & drink for the car ride home. He does have cooked lunches and i'm pretty sure he eats well, just must be a school-using-up-calorie-thing

H doing well, well sort of, he was back in a&e on Sat with breathing issues again but they sorted it quickly this time.

right started this post hours ago, interrupted by skype calls with grandparents & boys bedtime so going to post now before anything else happens.

gingeme · 15/09/2010 13:26

Hmmm Simpson I agree with JKS wait till youv'e calmed down a bit then just bluff it and say your not sure when Daddys visiting again but you will be sure to let him know as soon as you do etc etc. Good luck x
JKS thats good news to hear about school. Edward starts nursery on Monday. He is so excited bless him.
LaT thats good progress so far. Glad you kept to your guns. I hope she will actualy swallow some soon Hmm
Alls well here. Took George to the gp yesterday morning as he was up Monday night with high temp and holding his right ear. Hes fine just a 'viral infection' Hmm Capol and Nurofen keeping it all at bay Smile
Edward and I went to the dentist this morning. All ok. Edward even gave me his sticker for being a good girl Wink
My big boys should be visiting this weekend. DH of the weekend so were going to take advantage of their babysitting skills and go out Saturday night Grin
Right better get the hoover round.See you later x

mixedmamameansbusiness · 16/09/2010 11:30

Am keeping up ladies just havent been on loads.

Simps - I can offer no further advice than exactly what everyone else has said and my sympathies.

LaT - progress with S so that is great.

Ginge - all fab in your household it seems.

JKS - I have the ginger tablets etc that LaT very kindly sent down to me in case MS is present at all. FB me if you want me to pass them on. Fab that T loves school. S loves it too and cannot wait to get there every morning. He is also hungry so I normally take a piece of fruit for him to eat on the way home although I have been putting an apple in his lunchbox, an apple after school and they have an apple most days at snack time, so I need another plan really.

latrucha · 16/09/2010 14:44

Oh the land of two little ones is a hard place! I know Sabela has been waking in the night since we went to my Dad's but DH has been dealing with it so I'm not really aware of it. DH is away now, so last night it came down to me.

She woke me up at 11.30-12.00pm and at 5.45.

Daniel slept all night from 10.15 to 7.30.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I also was really cross with her this morning about it, so while I think she has the message (we'll see....) I feel a bit crappy because of that too.

Ho hum.

fillybuster · 16/09/2010 20:12

Have been reading to keep up but not posting...sorry....life sort of got in the way of my MN habit for a bit over the past few weeks!

Our nanny sprained her ankle rather badly just before the bank holiday so I had all 3 kids and all the end-of-school-hols boredom and getting-ready-for-back-to-school madness that is the joy of trying on shoes and getting new school uniforms as well as the wedding (new pics of dcs looking v smart on profile :) ) and DS's 5th birthday party to organise (see smug pics of me with robot cake!)...oh, and Tamara starting nursery, of course!!!

Anyway, we're slowly adjusting to the new routine: Mia is 12 weeks old and doing brilliantly, totally happy and chilled and now sleeping through the night without a peep Grin, Tamara is loving nursery (its only 3 hours a day and they're still building up in 15 min blocks...grrr...but she's now up to nearly 2 hours and desperate to stay longer Grin) and very proud of her uniform (yawn - more pics on profile!) and A is delighted to be in year 1 and enjoying the harder work already.

So all good in general :) I've finally managed to go to the gym a few times this week (gosh, it hurt!) so feeling a bit less of a total wreck but it will be a long time before my jeans fit again.... I wish I had more willpower when it comes to food, but there's something about bfing that leaves me incapable of resisting sugar and carbs....and something about putting 3 kids to bed on my own every single night that leaves me incapable of resisting the wine in the fridge Blush....Hmm

A has suddenly come down with a 39.5C temperature this evening so I'm probably in for a bad night...off to grab some dinner as DH is still in the office and has just called to say its going to be a long night....sigh....

Sorry this has been an entirely selfish post...MM and JKS - how are the bumps doing? Ange - are you really TTC? Gingeme - well done on the dieting and gym....you're going to look amazing for your party :) :) Simpson, he's an arse, and you're amazing - well done for keeping it all up in the air :( Hugs to LaT, Madmouse, Lucky, Lilyloo and MrsMc (if she's around...she's gone missing again!)

angechica · 16/09/2010 21:20

Usual Thursday night wave :)

Am taking DS on the train to Suffolk next week as I have to use up my annual leave by end of Sept. Wisdh me luck ... it's a 5 hour journey!!!! But figure it will be less tiring than me driving.

With your littlest only 12 weeks Filly, well done for coping with it all AND managing to do some exercise! I recall when A was a little baby just struggling out to the shops was an effort Blush.

vvv sorry about your dog Lilyloo. It's like losing one of the family :(

No luck again AFs seem to be v odd and am going to make a Drs appointment about it.

That's fab Daniel slept through LaT, what kind of reasoning do you do with Sabela re the night waking? we have tried all sorts of bribery and threats nothing works.

I just want to have a little proud mummy moment: A has been dry in daytime for 1 week now:) Grin Some recent night wakings have been due to him getting confused and asking for the potty at 3am Hmm.

Simpson hope all is calm now, your courage in adversity has been inspiring.

Wave to all of you.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 17/09/2010 10:21

Ange - well done A. Big boy now. If only I could get E to be just a tiny bit interested. I finish work in two weeks then I am knuckling down to get on with it properly.

Filly - you are like a mummy warrior - well done is all I can say and I bow down to you. Wink Bump is great thanks.... much less tired and sicky so looking up.

lily - if you happen to be on reading sorry about the dog again.

Hello all and hope everyone has a great weekend.

latrucha · 17/09/2010 15:00

Ange - the train will be better than you think. At least you can move about. I recommend magnetic drawing board, stickers and the latest plastic tat from the front of ceebeebies etc magazine whipped out at a moment of stress. And a table seat definitely.

With Sabela at night DH talks firmly and sings a song. It works but she does wake again. I refused to take her from the cot, hissed 'this has got to stop', said everyone was aslep and she MUST sleep, and gave her a quick cuddle and left. Then I gave her a big tell off in the morning. She slept until eight this morning Grin Oh. and I exercised her like a dog yesterday.

Sorry Lily for not comiserating sooner.

We're leaving potty training for a while. Sabela really wants to but if I take her nappy off eg. for bath time and she needs a wee she whimpers in a terrified fashion until I put a nappy on her.

She's having a rough time at the moment poor love. Nothing seems to be straightforward for her (eating slpeeing nappying etc) but she also seems very happy so I'm trying to be completely hands off with all but the sleeping.

BTW she got lots of cuddles and kisses for 'really good sleeping' last night and went down for a nap in a second. We are climbing a massive hill this afternoon Grin

fillybuster · 19/09/2010 10:41

Great developments on the sleeping front LaT...but do I see a link between whenever you and DH start getting proper sleep and when you get broody?!

Sorry Lily, missed the news about your dog :( So sad for you x

All good here, but god 3 kids is a lot of work. On the plus side, none of them has woken us up the last few nights (!) and DS has now started taking Tamara to the toilet in the mornings when they wake up....!! Its sweet: she sleeps in pullups because she can't open the bedroom and bathroom doors herself, but they are always dry - DS has decided that his new job is to take T to the loo when they wake (around 7,30/8) and help her get on....then he waits to help her wash her hands :) :) On the one hand, its lovely, on the other...they're bloody noisy about it!! Grin

Aargh, got to go, dh needs help...

mixedmamameansbusiness · 19/09/2010 12:46

awww filly that is so lovely.

JustKeepSwimming · 20/09/2010 18:47

Hi all, am mega tired most of the time now so find it hard to keep up - waiting for that 2nd trimester blooming bit, lol.

Well big news here today is H had no nap Shock and seems fine without it, so far. Not been grumpy, was a bit tired looking at teatime but brightened up when we went out in the garden for lots of running around.
Hoping so much that he'll sleep later in the morning as he's been bringing his morning chatter forward to 5-something Luckily it doesn't wake anyone other than me but it can't be ideal for T really.

So, we are off to GOSH tomorrow, DH has got the day off work so he's coming with me, with my energy levels we've decided we'll drive there and back and probably not hang about, so not really ideal for meeting up, not that i'd really organised anything anyway. Will see how i am when we are next due up - hoping it will be in a couple of months for his MRI & EEG.

Mixed- that's kind about the ginger tablets but the thought doesn't appeal, i tend to think about food and wait for a response from my stomach, lol! even turned down a cooked breakfast yesterday as the message back was a No! :)

Um, T still happy with school, still starving & exhausted afterwards. I've gone for those little boxes of raisins/apricots/etc. plus a couple of biscuits and that seems to work, for a few minutes anyway!!

Still waiting for a scan date, will try and chase this week, am 10 weeks now and definitely expanding Grin

latrucha · 22/09/2010 12:51

Grin JKs. Happy days!

We're all fine here and having a really buzzy day. I have lost a stone since having Danny and I went to an exercise class this mornign and now feel really slim Hmm. I came out to beautiful sunshine, went home, found y new coat delivered and had a phonecall from DH telling me that DD had told him 'I like mummy' all the way up to nursery just because I had made silly face at her through the window. So really nice so far.

Oh, and Danny slept again last night from 10pm to 7.30 and ALSO decided he wanted a feed in the middle of the killer ab cruches in the exercise class Grin

You have a sunny LaTrucha all round today.

fillybuster · 22/09/2010 18:00

Nice ducking out of the abs crunches LaT :) Hurrah for your sunny (really and metaphorically) day - hope it lasts until bedtime :) And triple hurrah for Danny's sleeping - what a atar! Is Sabela doing better again too?

JKS - it gets better, so remember "this too shall pass"!! And great result on H's naps/sleeping :) Is T still loving school?

simpson · 23/09/2010 22:54

Hi all

Its been quiet on here Smile

All good here.

Found out today that Molly has got into our new local playgroup for 2 mornings a wk. (which is free!!)

I am soooo chuffed as it will save me loads of walking that I did dropping her off at her old one. But it will be Sad to tell them tomorrow she is leaving as they have been fab over her diet/food etc...

Also can I have a proud moment??!!

I went to meet J's teacher for the first time on tuesday after his footie club and I went in armed for some negative comments (thinking back to a yr ago: he can't do this & that etc Angry)to be told he is near the top of the class (mainly kids a yr older than him) and that his teacher thinks he is gifted in maths

He has sooo not got it from me lol.

madmouse - going to ask my mum at weekend when she is going to Oxford next, so maybe another meet up soon??? Grin

latrucha · 24/09/2010 21:38

That's lovely Simpson ! About both of them.

We are contemplating our first long car trip to see my Dad as my aunt is there (she lives in the states). I can't face the train journey again so soon. It's too hard work with two. She has offered to come here but I just had a phone clal with my Dad and he made it pretty clear he wants to see me(he usually says it doesn't matter - in a nice way)

Anyway, we expect that Sabela will scream the whole way whatever our efforts to entertain etc. We were thinking it might be better to leave after Sabela has gone to sleep, pop her in the car seat and hope she sleeps. Only problem being the car seat doesn't recline.

Is any or all of this crazy?

mixedmamameansbusiness · 26/09/2010 10:32

Hi LaT

Crazy or not it sounds like you may just need to do it. If screaming is going to be an issue I would most definitely go for car as I get mega flustered with people watching metry to deal with a screaming child.

Talking of this situation - yesterday I was in the library with DC which is situated in the market next to our house and a massive screaming match had begun outside. It seemed that one "mum" was shouting at another lady as the lady seemed to have commented on her son (maybe 5 max) had been screaming or crying or something. Now I feel for the mum really I do, she was going mental about how dare you, he is a child and I try my best etc etc. Fine. However, she was effing and blinding and constantly calling the other woman a "C" and her son was crying and there were other children in the market scared witless being comforted by their parents.

Now I make a point of turning a blind eye when children cry, throw tantrums etc as I hate people looking on making silly comments but how this woman thought he was making it any better is beyond me... it was so sad to see.

JustKeepSwimming · 26/09/2010 12:16

Mixed - that sounds horrible, for everybody, she must have been having a Very Bad Day.

LaT - definitely go with the car then, keep a steady supply of treats/snacks/little toys etc and start the whole 'who can spot a red car first?' type games? :)
Or just leave at bedtime, slightly later so she's tired, i'm not sure about the moving her once asleep plan myself.

Simps - special YEY for J, he's doing so well :)

Well GOSH trip went well, consultant very happy with H :)
Back in 6 months to see her. We should be back for an MRI & EEG before then though.

H still not having naps, though we gave in on Fri and let him have an hour as he was sooo tired. So a take it as it comes plan with him, but mostly he doesn't need one so we are free to go out all day - err yeah except we don't really cos i'm too tired lol!!

Will consider moving him into a bed soon as i think his tiredness at bedtime should keep him in bed more easily than his hyper-bouncing-self we had previously. Hmm

T still loving school, is exhausted after 4.5 days so waiting to see when we will add Fri afternoon. Has started on learning new sounds, we are on 's' 'a' & 't' for now :) He's a slow to read chap i think but hey we'll get there.

gingeme · 27/09/2010 10:08

Good morning ladies.
No excuses for not logging in but have been pretty busy I guess.
First my good news. We may have a house. Not sure if I have told you but the council are knocking our flats down and building new ones supposedly by 2013 and we have 2 choices.
Either wait for the new builds which would mean going to temperary accomadation and then moving into them when built. But no garuantee they will be houses or council.
Second option is to bid on property elsewhere. Each property is given a certain amount of points to bid with. We go on Enfield Homes site and bid on what we like the look of.
We have bid on a 3 bed house with garden and garage. Semi detached with an infant and junior school quite literly across the road.Which judging by the OFSTED report look good schools. We have been told we have won the bid just have to wait for the contracters to finnish doing it up then we can view it. We have been and had a look from the outside and it all looks pretty good. The best thing about it is David will get his own bedroom and I will get a garden. The only thing against it is it only has a shower room. No bath. But DH being an ex plumber can surely fit a bath Smile
Apart from that were all plodding along nicely.
Edward is off today because of a cold. That time of year I guess Hmm
George has finaly got the hang of doing a pooh on the toilet, sort of Smile
David went for his first sleep over at his big brothers house this weekend. Thouroughly enjoyed himself and came home knackered yesterday Wink
DH and I have joined a gym now. Been twice so far and its killing us Sad but we will persivere.
Sorry for no personals but Good luck with H today JKS.Glad the GOSH visit went well Smile
Yay for the new nursery Simpson and great news about the football Grin
Hi everyone else xxx

JustKeepSwimming · 27/09/2010 11:58

Gingeme - that will be fantastic re the house!! Hope Dh can sort the bath, i would miss it if i didn't have one. What kind of timeline have you got for the contractors if any?
And, sorry to be dense, but how far is it from where you are? Assuming you mean changing schools from what you said.

DH working from home today, so off out for lunch at cafe round the corner :)

gingeme · 27/09/2010 14:51

JKS yes I would miss a bath too! The lady from the council rang us last Tuesday to say they would have the keys for us to view the house within the two weeks but if we havn't heard by 5th October to ring them up . We did bid on another one but when we drove round to have a look it had squatters in Hmm
It is about 20 mins from where we live now but would be 2 buses to get to Garfield school but I have checked the schools near and they look great Smile

JustKeepSwimming · 27/09/2010 15:03

So exciting :)

Have you thought about moving day? How will you manage?!
