Trying to order the craft supplies for the Rainbow "Daisy for a day" meeting I'm running in a couple of weeks and the stupid website keeps coming up "Page can't be displayed." I know it's them and not me because I can get on to all sorts of other sites. I just want to order my supplies while I'm thinking about it! Grr!

Going to take S to get weighed today. Scared.

HappyTangerine · 11/06/2010 14:31

I love all the songs, have been trying them out today

We're all good here, had a fab visit home and have been very homesick and a bit tearful this week. J was lovely and miley for the family members who'd not met him yet-all v surprised by the ginger hair and how long he is.

I've put my degree studies on hold to just enjoy being a mum-it was all getting on top of me a bit and was keeping me stuck inside when I should have been out and about more. Feel much better for the decision. Have a head cold and Joe is now coughing and sneezing as well so dh is going to go to the world cup barbecue alone tomorrow and I'll snuggle up with a book.

Joe has been yelling in pain the last 2 days and producing the most God awful nappies so I hope that 3rd tooth is on the way. He surprised us all yesterday by saying "duck egg" very clearly! It's in his favourite story book so he must have picked it up from there. We had the 8 month check this morning, all fine. He's just under 20lbs now. He spent most of the visit crawling around and trying to pull out the contents of the hv's handbag! Sleep has been a bit broken but he has dropped his 2am feed and is going in his cot for a bit . The first time was amazing, I just lay there watching him thinking "ahh, so this is how people are able to go on and have more children!"

Love to all, enjoy the weekend x

princessmel · 11/06/2010 20:07

Hi HT
Glad you had a lovely trip home. Good idea about putting your studies on hold. Do whatever feels right for you, try not to put too much pressure on yourself. xx
Wow at teeth, talking and crawling!!!

scout how did the weigh in go? I may take F next week.

hc How are the migranes??

F is doing well with BLW atm. He ate swwet potato for tea, with some pasta the dc's had. And some mixed veg and some nectarine!! He loved the nectarine.
Yesterday I made a fish pie for us all and he liked that too. Last night he slept from 7.30 till 6.20 with 1 wake at 11.50. I was very pleased

Disaster....my laptop is dead!!!! I am using the pc which is not child friendly as I cant be on the floor with F and his toys and online at the same time. And I need to be online or I get lonely . Well not online all the time but you know what I mean.
Today I took the dc's to the park after schooo and we were there for 2 hours! I was sitting chatting with a few of my mum friends. F was in the swing for an hour!
I am very proud of ds1 and dd today. ds1 won the art competition (he had to design the next England kit with the school logo etc involved in the design) and was called out in assembly. I missed this as I didn't know the winners were being announced. I would have gone if I knew. So annoying as I was standing chatting (again) with another mum in the school carpark. I could have been in the hall watching!
And dd won an award!!!. A behaviour award. It's a new thing the school has started. More positive praise etc. Also not just being called in to speak to the teacher when your dc has been in trouble but when they're very good too. A few children get chosen each week [proud mummy]

Sick of the football. Ugh.

Wish my laptop worked

Night all

princessmel · 11/06/2010 20:09

bad spelling . sorry

HumphreysCorner · 11/06/2010 21:00

Aw, princessmel, well done to your DC. They give out certificates at DD1's school. Everybody gets one as they go down the register. I missed the annual award that DD1 got as we were off school when there was a swine flu scare and with only 4 days of the school year left I didn't want to risk any harm being 7 months PG. Every year I sit in church and watch everyone else getting awards and the only time I miss it........ My AF is due in 2 days so waiting for the arrival of a migraine.

HT-sounds like you had a lovely time. Can't imagine what it is like to live far away from family.

Scout-did you manage to order your things? What does Seb weigh?

Matthew was 17lb 6oz so is just below the 25th centile and he is also on this line with his length and head circumference. Can't settle him tonight as he keeps crying everytime I put him in his cot. Have given him some Calprofen. He is pooing alot so could be a first tooth on the way.

DD1 went back to school and I am already fed up with 'can x come to my house tonight?' every night. She is doing skipping club on Mon and swimming club on Weds so only have Thurs and Fridays to be pestered.

Loving the World Cup especially now Thierry Henry is on.

Waves to everyone.

princessmel · 11/06/2010 21:12

They do the Golden Book, sticker charts (need to get X amount of stickers , then get go to see head for special sticker and praise) already at the school. This is aswell as that.
Bad luck that you missed out seeing dd win hers too!

Hope M goes to sleep soon. I'm dreading teething pain.

I tell ds and dd that playdates have to be arranged. We had a whole term of ds1 crying in the playgroung, wanting last minute playdates. And now (hopefully) he's realised he only has pre-arranged ones. 3 this week. He had a friend here monday and today and went to a friend's house on thursday. And dd went to a friend tonight. Plus we had ballet and swimming this week. They have lovely lives!!

princessmel · 11/06/2010 21:13

Oh and HC .....world cup.....

Scout19075 · 11/06/2010 22:19

Hold on to your hats, Sebby now weighs (drumroll please): 20 lbs 10 oz. That's another 1 1/2 pounds in two weeks so it looks like, at this rate, he's on track for another three pounds this month. He's gone up into another percentile bracket. I about fell over. Had a chat with one of the HVs that was there (it's the same two every week and the last time I was there it was the other one who scared the life out of me) and asked how much milk should I be giving him (being new to this bottle thing). She said "I can't answer that, only he can. Give him what he wants." So I've (finally) stopped panicking that I'm over feeding him, both milk and solids. He's always quite eager when I offer and when he refuses/starts playing I give up and let him stop. I have never forcefed a baby and don't plan to start now. HV looked at him and looked at his chart and said "Well, he doesn't look ready to explode, he's well proportioned, he's fine." She also said if I do get worried about his weight then we'll look at things again but for now I can stop worrying.

PHEW!

Still haven't managed to order my things, but did go to Cambs today and got DH the rest of his Father's Day present from Sebby.

HT Glad you had a fab trip home. Trips home are always wonderful, aren't they?

Yay for princessmel's DCs.

BellaCullen · 12/06/2010 22:36

Princessmel agree with you on worldcup and its on for a whole month ,luckily DP went with ds1 to his dads tonight to watch it.

Nathaniels teething too and has had bad nappies since thursday.Has such a red bum poor things as hes constanly doing the runs and doesn`t get a break to heal properly. One tooth is through just waiting for the second one. Also got a bad dribble rash all over his chin and around mouth.

Wow scout what a good weight gain.Am a firm believer that you can`t overfeed a baby and they will eat as much as they need.

iggly loving your nappy changing song will try it tomorrow.

HT glad you had a good trip home and glad you feel better about making a decision regarding studies.
Have a good sunday all xxx

fidelma · 12/06/2010 23:03

Royal ballet madness for me this weekend but all is going well.

World cup, really are you sure !!!!!

Scout DD1 was off the percentile when she was 8months -2years.She is now on about the 98th percentile.Dont worry about it he is going to be like your dh.

So tierd off to bed.The press are comming tomorrow.

Playdates They drive me insane

Scout19075 · 12/06/2010 23:34

I'm probably one of the few people in England happy at the football's outcome tonight. I was very confused and didn't know who to root for (not that I was watching, mind, but people ask!).

Scout19075 · 13/06/2010 12:49

Will have to take a picture of the first bruise today. Seb decided to play with his daddy and got so excited he threw himself forward and headbutted his dad -- forehead to forehead. Cue crying and whimpering from both baby and DH. BOYS! LOL

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 13/06/2010 17:17

Hi, haven't been on for absolutely ages .

DD not teething and also not eating .
She is doing a bit of BLW but will not eat off a spoon and will not take any puree/baby rice etc. She will suck toast though .

I am still breastfeeding her and would like to stop soon but she will not take a bottle and because of the eating thing I don't really have a choice. We do try a sippy cup but she hardly takes anything/is not interested.

She is up 1/2 times a night for a feed so I am exhausted. I dream feed at 10.30ish.

I was supposed to go back to work in July but thats not panning out so well. I will take holidays and go back in September .

I'll have to do a quick read through to catch up with you all!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 13/06/2010 19:06

Forgot to say DD is crawling. Happened last week.

princessmel · 13/06/2010 20:32

Hi HMHB
Try not to worry about the feeding. I'm sure she'll get there in the end. If she likes BLW maybe just stick to that veeeery slowly? I am still bf all day too. But very quick feeds. And at least one in the night.
Great about the crawling

fidelma what are the press doing?

We did the Fun Run today. 1.5km. 1800 people did it. It was great. ds1 ran the whole way! dh was worn out! I walked with ds2 and dd. We all got medals and T shirts .
There was also did a 5k and a half marathon going on so a very busy event.
Then we had a bbq at dh's brothers house. loads of kids. etc.

Hi everyone

I am soooo fed up of the football. Ugh!

fidelma · 13/06/2010 21:08

Half I am also still bresst feeding alot.Great to hear from you.

Princess There were photos taken with all the dancers, Royal Ballet staff and the Gleneagles hotel. The royal ballet haven't been in Scotland for 20 years !!we will see what is in the press over the next couple of days.I suspect it will be the Scottish press.

Back to normal now

Scout19075 · 14/06/2010 07:33

Morning all!

Hello Half! princessmel Sounds like a good and busy Sunday! And I agree -- fed up with the football hype and we're a footie-free house!

fidelma Ooohhh, sounds all sorts of very exciting!

Hello to everyone else!

Uneventful weekend here. Went to see my NiL on Saturday afternoon (she still hasn't met the little man) but when we got there found out she has the shingles. We opted to err on the side of caution and left a note instead and said we'd go back again. Seb's unknowningly been exposed already (though we think it was the end/uncontatious part) but knowing that her's was fresh (just broke into the rash) and recently diagnosed, it was a risk we weren't willing to take. Poor NiL. So we went to a Country Park instead and then made our way back home. Yesterday was quiet and an at-home day. DH did his computery stuff, which makes him happy.

Had a very good night -- 7:45 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.! Up for milk, change and chat to Daddy as he got ready for work and back down. He was still playing until about 15 minutes ago when I heard a whimper so went up and checked his bum. Within moments of getting that stinky one off he was back out. Ahhh, bliss!

Happy Monday, all!

Igglybuff · 14/06/2010 08:09

Morning! Just marking my space - a bad night here. Up hourly from 1am. Not sure what's bothering W.

Will catch up later

HappyTangerine · 14/06/2010 14:29

Hello
Marking my place, v busy at moment. Sending hugs to all the teething babies and sympathy to the mums, J q bad at the moment as well. Back later x

Scout19075 · 14/06/2010 17:07

Took S to the GP today to check on his runny nose that he's had since our return from the US. All is fine just a long running cold or lots of little ones, which is unsurprising given how many groups and Mommy activities we go to in a week. He's also going to send the Paeds Cardiology the referral letter so he can have his ECHO. No murmur has been detected but they're going to do a thorough examine to be sure given my history. Realized that he's only 10 oz from tripling his birth weight, so really don't think he has a heart condition!

BellaCullen · 14/06/2010 21:04

Hi half still bf all day here to as Nathaniel doesn`t seem too interested in food.Am doing BLW too as he only wants to feed himself and hates purees.Still feeds 1/2 times at night too.Last night only once so am sure he will be up a lot tonight.

Scout glad Sebby is well and just has a normal cold. Went to GP too today as Nathaniel has had diahorrea since fri and a really bad nappy rash from it,but its just from teething.Hes really suffering with it,poor thing. One tooth through so just waiting for the other side.He has 3 now.

fidelma sounds all very exciting. Have you seen any photos in paper yet?

Going to german embassy tomorrow to finally sort mine and Ns passport out. Hate going there but needs to be done as were going to my parents in August.

Iggly hope you have a better night tonight. Was up yesterday at 3am watching tv with N as he just wouldn`t go back to sleep and kept pooing. Did write a message on here but must have forgotten to post it.
xxx

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 14/06/2010 21:32

Bella - LOL re pooing. DD does that too and you know you need to do a nappy change!

Hope everyone doing ok. Will come back soon.

Scout19075 · 14/06/2010 21:44

Bella Good luck at the embassy! Surely it's as bad as the American Embassy. NOTHING is as scary as that building!

fidelma · 14/06/2010 22:46
