Very exciting, fidelma !

princessmel · 15/06/2010 09:38

OOooh fab fidelma!!!
I think I spotted you in the picture

Got baby massage today. So have sorted pick ups for dd and ds1.
F will propbably need to go to sleep just before it starts and will need to be woken up, I hate waking him from his naps and never do it if possible.

bella were you really watching tv with N at 3am!!? Lol! I never do anything 'daytime-y' in the night. It's all darkness, silence and minimal interaction here. Feed F, a wee for me and that's it!

scout glad Sebby is ok.
My 3 seem to have runny noses a lot. But shockingly we have had quite a long spell of not going to the doctors. Very unusual! Not been for a few weeks. That is amazing for us!!

Hope Ruby is coping ok at work .

HappyTangerine · 15/06/2010 10:34

fidelma Are you on the very far left of photo?

Bella On way to doctors with J this week as well as he has v runny nappies and is teething so bad. V little sleep going on in this house, I was up from 4am as he also kept pooing. He's so miserable, love him . Good luck at embassy.

Scout Thats great news about Seb

HMHB Welcome back! I'm doing a mix of blw and purees/lumps and Joe is bf like a newborn at the moment, 2 feeds at night, feeding on demand during the day. I am so tired!

princessmel forgot to say earlier that your dcs school sounds lovely, lots of positive praise.

Too tired to post any more, back later x

HumphreysCorner · 15/06/2010 11:06

How lovely fidelma.

Wrote a post last night then my laptop froze so couldn't be bothered to type it again.

Good luck Bella, sure it will be OK.

HT-poor J, am dreading it when M starts teething.

HalfMum-hello! Well done to your DD.

My AF is being a pain, after the first one I am now on CD30 with horrendous cramps so I suspect now M is feeding more again it may be v. late this month.

Struggling to handle DD1 and her attitude and untidiness. Also her lying to me all the time. And DD1 got to dancing on Saturday and decided she didn't want to do it anymore. So DD2 decided she didn't either. Then DD1 went to MIL's and told her now she had stopped dancing she can start horse riding. The thing is with this is that MIL said she would pay for her to go but thought I would be taking her. My idea is that MIL should take her if she wants her to go and as it is 3-30pm on a Saturday I clean at DH's work in the morning then come gome at 1pm ish then we have lunch. I then think great, no more rushing around fetching from various places so the last thing I want to do is trek across town again. Told MIL this so that ended the horse riding discussion. DD1 then thought my mum would take her I understand she would like to go but I feel she should wait a few years. She will start Brownies when she is 7 and I am going to sort swimming lessons and with 2 after school clubs and possible purgatory playdates, I can't do so much!

Rant over, have a good day ladies. Have been cutting trees and bushes down but M screamed the whole time so have given up and come in for a cuppa. Thought he would like sitting in the pram in the sun.

BellaCullen · 15/06/2010 19:50

Hi,
embassy went ok had to wait for an hour, which was horrendous as Nathaniel was overtired and just wouldn`t fall asleep.Of course as soon as we left he fell asleep within 2 mins, typical.
Once I was seen it was very quick, but had to pay £20 extra so I can have it as an express one.

How great for you fidelma

HC i know how you feel.DD has been such hard work in last month with tantrums and her attitude and shes only 4! Dreading her teenage years already. Its hard to find the balance between club activities and playdates.DS1 does karate outside school and cricket, athletics at school and DD does gymnastic and hopefully tap from september.

HT how is J today hope his teeth come through soon.

princess yes I was watching Wags come dine with me and 16 and pregnant. Never have done it before but he was wide awake and so was I and there was no point in sleeping.

Igglybuff · 15/06/2010 20:09

Hi everyone!

Turned out William was brewing a giant poo, having not been for three days, poor boy. So that explains the night waking. Once he'd done it and I'd cleaned up (it was disgusting and William rolled around as I was trying to change him. He kept trying to pick up bits of it ), he napped solidly for two hours! Bless.

However, the next night he was awake for about an hour around 4am. Really unsettled. He is dropping his third nap of the day which is messing with his night sleep I think.

HMHB welcome back! Congrats on the crawling. Is everything baby proofed?? W isn't eating much either - he likes to eat just not huge amounts. Which is probably for the best as he's reacting to some foods anyway.

Bella I hope N sleeps better for you.
That must be a killer.

princess you've got great kids - love to hear the stories. What is your secret please?

HT, fingers crossed on that tooth. I think William has been teething for a while now (he keeps biting my shoulder) but it goes on for so long it is ridiculous.

fidelma I spotted you in the pic!

scout I loved the latest pics of Seb. He's got a lovely cheeky smile hasn't he? I hope his ECHO is clear - do you have any idea as to how long you'll have to wait?

DH's HD box has arrived so he's setting up so he can watch the footie in even more detail. I, on the other hand, am trying to get W's new bedroom sorted. I'm hoping DH will help before the world cup is finished but we'll see

princessmel · 15/06/2010 20:31

Hi all
Baby massage was lovely today. f really enjoys it.

bella glad all went ok at the embassy.

Iggly Thanks! They are lovely kids. And they play really nicely together...not all the time though.
I don't have a secret! I try to choose my battles. Me and my antenatal friend(from ds1) say that a lot. I.e 'is this really worth stressing/fighting over' (like if dd wants a different pair of pj's even though hers are clean...no it doesn't matter. The clean pair go back in the drawer). Also I find it's better if you say yes more often than no. Sometimes dh says 'no' to things they ask to do etc and I say (not in front of the kids) 'why can't they do xy or z does it really matter?
I save my battles for really important things that are non negotiable.
Also I stick to my guns. Always have done. And always carry through any consequences. Ds1 is on a 'no DS/Wii/computer ban' all week for saying at rude word at the weekend at his cousins. I was very upset. He was with bigger kids and must have copied. But he knows its wrong.

I am also pretty big fan of routines. At bedtime. I think this helps.

Saying that I also go with the flow with ds2 and do whatever he needs me to do.

My big 2 are very lively. Full of energy and very cheeky! We see lots of friends and our house is always noisy, messy and hopefully happy.

Glad W did his big poo F has been doing some fab 'shaped' ones so I know some food is going in. Yesterday he ate quite a lot of pasta twirls. Today he seemed to like mini corn on the cob fingers. (the ones you add to stir frys)And some tortilla wraps.

HC I did some gardening at the weekend. Dh cut the hedge and bush the other week. I potted some new plants into my tubs. They look nice. I must make sure I water them....
When we are in the garden I sit f on a blanket, in the shade, with some crash mats we 'borrowed' once from a gym underneath. (long story!!!!)

I am very excited about something. Can't say anymore yet as I don't want to jinx it. I'll tell you more if and when I know more!! I am NOT pregnant btw!!

Does anyone know if littlepea got her period in the end????

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 15/06/2010 22:25

I discovered that DD has a tooth coming today. She enjoyed gnawing on apple and cucumber to soothe it.

DS (who is nearly 4) insisted in getting in the baby bath with DD tonight. Twas v amusing. He sat in there and gave her a wash. He then pretended to be a baby while I dried him, bless him. I think it was because his dad is away at the moment.

What stages are all the October babies at now. Sorry I've missed a lot. Are they all rolling/crawling/sitting up? Eating solids/drinking from beakers? Having 1/2/3 naps a day? Sleeping through (I wish!). Teething?

HT - good to hear how your DS is feeding. After taking a little milk from a bottle yesterday she has refused today . Although we had a minor breakthrough of her eating a yogurt so looks like we are doing a mixture of methods too. Fingers crossed for her sleeping a bit better tonight.

Blimey HC - your lot sounds like a nightmare to organise !

Iggly - everything is baby proofed just about. We have to make sure the stair gates are on and the front door is shut . She is quite fast although usually ends up going backwards and getting stuck under the sofa.

PrincessMel - DD's poos have been like seaweed or look like bits of broccoli (when she hasn't had broccoli) .

Right - time for the dream feed...

fidelma · 15/06/2010 22:39

Thanks for having a look.I was the one at the back on the left, not a great photo of me but Hey Ho.

I am comming back down to earth with schooltrips, a project on Mary Queen of Scots and loads to do in the house.I have had a declutter (which I am rubbish at by the way)and there is so much to do in the garden. And when Connor is up I can hardly do a thing.

Only 14 more days until the end of term.

I love reading all your news.

Littlepea Have you made it home and what is your news ?

I still haven't started my AF. anyone not got theirs yet ?

Connor had the same dinner as everyone eles tonight (but blended)
Baked pot, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, mayo and some cheese.Great success followed by apple puree and whole strawberries.

He is still sleeping through until about 5am when I think the phesants wake him up but he always goes back until about 7am.

4 teeth with loads more comming.
sitting
not crawling
rolls rarely
loves to stand and bounce
loves to move while in my arms
waves
very loud (but our house is quite loud)

off for a bath night night x

HappyTangerine · 16/06/2010 07:16

I am beyond tired and feel quite spaced out. Joe slept 8pm-2am then did 2 poos in the night. Woke himself up properly both times, wide awake babling loudly. Took ages to get him back off. I know its teeth but I wish he could have some let up-nappies v runny and he's knawing on everything in sight, including the high chair tray when I am trying to feed him. The one that seems to be giving him the most trouble is an upper molar coming through.

Bella Well done on getting through the embassy!

Iggly Is there a secret to changing a nappy of a wriggly baby that keeps trying to crawl away? If so, please share!

HC Sorry that AF is giving you so much grief. You sound like you have a lot to organise and stay on top of it well. Am about to tackle some gardening in the next few days, I miss my garden!

HMHB Hae you tried spinach yet? That seems to produce the woest nappies I've encountered to date, awful stench! Joe loves spinach though so we persevere.

Scout Big wave - is all well with you?

fidelma no AF here either

princessmel Intriguing! My first guess was modelling job, second was that you are going to be an auntie

FB update on littlepea indicates that she has made it home and should be online in a week or two.

This time last year I was in Italy

Sorry if I missed anyone. Have a good day all.

Igglybuff · 16/06/2010 20:25

Hey HT I hope you've got some rest and napped with Joe in the day. As for wriggly nappy changing, well I usually sing. However that doesn't always work so I pin W's arms down with my legs (so he's between my legs). He doesn't like it but sometimes I have to!

fidelma no proper AF - just have them for a day and they are very light. It's all a bit confusing really.

princess, not pregnant?? mmm is it to do with your twin? Are they expecting? getting married? Your parenting sounds like how I'd like to do things. Wish me luck

HMHB W isn;t that fast a crawler yet so I've been a bit lax with stairgates - although I don't let him alone when upstairs. I've tried to fix them but they're a bit fiddly and require drilling!

We've got high def tv now so watching the footie and getting distracted by the detail

Had the ILs over today and they decided that W looked pale and not himself. Yeah thanks for making me feel like a great mum!

OP posts:
fidelma · 16/06/2010 21:11

HT I hope that you are feeling a bit better.

I am pretty tierd tonight so going to get an early night.

princessmel · 16/06/2010 21:17

HMHB F is sitting, rolling, on all 4's ready to crawl.
He is still breast fed, on demand and wakes for a feed 1 to 2 times a night.
He is doing BLW and loving it. Has eaten loads. Had some panini and salad at lunch and meatballs and spaghetti for dinner.
Doesn't really have water. Has had one sip to try.
Is in the 'big boy' bath, in a bath seat. Goes in with ds1 and dd
Sleeps in his cot, in our room.

Can do 'bang bang' with 2 objects and yesterday learnt to clap!!! yay!! Very smiley. At anybody!

HT I hope you got some rest today. Are you able to sleep when he sleeps? I find it hard to sleep in the day. I haven't tried since F was newborn.

Iggly good luck! And Boo hiss to the inlaws for making you feel rubbish!

News....Oooohhhhh I am sooo excited! It's even better today! I will tell you more tomorrow. Just incase it doesn't happen for any reason ....

princessmel · 16/06/2010 21:18

Hi fidelma

Oh AF none here..thank goodness! I keep saying it must be coming soon , when I get moody/grump/tearful etc! But not here yet.

HumphreysCorner · 16/06/2010 22:31

princessmel-sounds v. exciting.

IL's are officially from another planet.

AF still late here, seem to think this happened when AF came back when DD2 stopped feeding. He still wakes early morning for a feed then usually falls asleep cuddled up to me. Aw.

Matthew is sitting very well now and getting ready to crawl.

So tired today. Just watching Desp Housewives then off to bed. Will catch up properly tomorrow.

HumphreysCorner · 16/06/2010 22:33

See I'm tired-Iggly IL's are officially from another planet. Doh!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 16/06/2010 22:34

Ohh thanks for letting me know how all the babies are doing. So interesting that they are all different.

DH is away this week and DD has gone from crawling a bit to sitting and eating food from a spoon as well as doing her BLW. He will be shocked when he gets back.

princessmel - DD is loving her bath and has discovered splashing which is really cute. Intrigued by your news???

Scout19075 · 16/06/2010 22:54

I'm here, too, but in a very foul mood, so will save responding/personals to tomorrow when I'm slightly more cheery. But, did want to say I am here, and our night out sans Seb was very nice and he was such a good boy (proud Mommy emoticon).

HappyTangerine · 17/06/2010 04:30

Still no bloody tooth. My second night with v little sleep but at least dh is sleeping-he almost fell asleep at work yesterday so I needed him to get a good night. Joe slightly better but only wants to sleep in my arms, head next to the boob. Woke himself up earlier by doing another poo but they are almost back to normal and the nappies are much wetter. I bought some Biccipegs and they have helped enormously, something sturdy to gnaw on. Don't quite know how I'll manage today, dh going in at 10am till 10. Lots of sitting in the sun I think. Wish I lived closer to my mum. I do however, live a few doors own from a recently revamped park and the weather is fab here atm.

Some great news though, had my smear test result and its normal. I was seriously dreading it this time, major anxiety dreams. My 30yr old cousin has terminal cervical cancer (you wouldn't know it to look at her) and we're all vigilant now but at the same time really dread it iyswim?

Iggly I've been lax about stairgate as well but can't put it off any longer. J happy to crawl on all fours now and is eyeing up the stair challenge. Babyproofing everything this weekend.

Scout Glad you had a good time.

princessmel You have us all in suspense! Re naps: I'm like you when it comes to sleeping in the day, find it v difficult.

Wave to everyone else, back later

Scout19075 · 17/06/2010 06:54

HT Sorry to hear about your disrupted sleep. Hope the tooth appears soon! Does Joe like the Biccipegs. The one (or two) times I gave Seb one he absolutely hated it. Kept spitting it out before it even got in and making faces at it.

C'mon princess spill the news before all burst with curiosity! (Us, nosey? NEVER!)

I agree, Iggly, what were your in-laws thinking? I find, however, it doesn't take much these days to make me questions/doubt/second guess myself when it comes to Seb. Must snap out of it! And I agree, Sebby does have a cheeky grin. Sometimes his grin not only lights up his face but his whole body and it can't help but make you smile too!

I finally got the batteries back in Penguin-friend and Mr Snail and the look of excitement at talking Penguin-friend was priceless!

Bella Glad to hear things at the embassy went smoothly.

HMHB No crawling here, but I have a bum-shuffler. He's getting quite efficient at it and managed to turn himself in a circle yesterday at his Nana's to reach a toy he wanted.

Splurged and a bought a car bar for Seb's stroller since we're out and about in it a lot. You know, one of those bars that look like a car consol with a steering wheel & horn, key, turn signal lever and blinking signal lights. May regret the noise (have to put the batteries in and see how loud it is) but think Seb will really enjoy it as he seems facinated by all those types of things. Also did a bit of research and realized that he can now go into a forward facing carseat. AND, we only have about seven pounds to go until he's outgrown his stage 1/infant car seat. Double ! Think we'll be ordering the new one sooner rather than later!

Hugs to all of the teething babies and sleepy mommies!

princessmel · 17/06/2010 08:28

When you find out you'll be disappointed! Well I am still super excited!!!!

Butterflys today tho...been to the loo twice...

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 17/06/2010 09:57

Scout19075 - DS was a bum shuffler. It was great. Meant he was very dextrous from a young age as they tend to hold and play with things in their lap and shuffle on their bums to get things whilst holding other things. Also means cool shuffle marks on the beach and amusement to others.

Princessmel - are you famous? going on telly or summat? getting an award?

HumphreysCorner · 17/06/2010 10:55

As in the words of Big Brother-Day 32 of HC's extended cycle.......

princessmel-come on, I can't wait!

Scout-put Matthew in the forward facing car seat 2 weeks ago. So much easier.

Still having trouble with DD1. The teacher had to prise her off me this morning. She cries all the time and takes things said the wrong way.

Have discovered the brilliance of Oven Pride. 'Tis a revelation!

Scout19075 · 17/06/2010 11:08

Very impressed Seb can sleep with all of the jack-hammering outside.

princess Are you SURE you're not preggers, given all that weeing? lol (Seriously, the suspense is killing me over here!)

HC I'll miss the ease of putting Seb in his carseat in the house then popping the seat in the base -- and then popping it off and carrying him into the store or wherever. But he's getting so long that his feet are climbing up the seat and his knees are bent. It will be weird having him face forward, I think!

Anyone know how ruby is doing back at work? And very curious about littlepea and AF -- anyone know?

HumphreysCorner · 17/06/2010 12:48

Thing is Scout, as I am only 5 ft I haven't been able to lift M in the car seat for ages so used to leave it in the car, it made sense to put him in the big one.

I wonder if littlepea's AF is missing in action with mine.

Lunch time!
