LittlePea Congratulations on finding out! Grin. Sod anyone who comments on the name, it's your child, not theirs. Everyone always has to have an opinion don't they? I LOVE the name Gabriel, it's what we were originally going to call Joe-and did call him right up until he was born. It didn't feel right once we "met" him and of course, there was the issue of shortened version not really going with his middle name...Grin

Iggly Glad your first day back went well. I am actually eligible for the jab as an asthmatic that has had 3 serious attacks in the last year but a mix up of appointments left me having to choose between Joe's MMR or my flu jab on the day. MMR won. I've chickened out ever since but am wavering.

fidelma Yikes-where will you live? More rooms - are you planning on having more dcs?!WinkContinued hugs to you and your poorly ones, hope they have turned a bit of a corner and are on the mend now.

HumphreysCorner · 06/01/2011 21:47

So pleased for you littlepea and ignore everyone as Gabriel is a lovely name. Smile

fidelma · 06/01/2011 22:22

Littlepea I think the name is lovely, some people are so rudeAngry and Congratulations.

We will rent somewhere nearby while we are doing the house.dh is a developer so hard for us not to go for the rebuild iykwim. Our house hasn't really be touched since the 70s so needs a complete makeover. You would be horrified if I told you how much we spend on oilShock so we are also going quite ecco with a ground sourse heat pump.We also have some very dodgey bathrooms (childrens bathroom is mustard with brown tiles on one wall and brown and white on another NICE !!!!)
we moved in almost 4 years ago and though we would quickly do it up but what with the credit crunch, another baby and long hard winters we haven't done it yet but here goes.
I have been designing my kitchen all day (good fun while stuck in with poorly children.)

HC boo to the diet. I can never diet if I say i am going to lose weight.I have to pretend that I am not on a diet to lose weightHmm hope you find something a bit nicer than celery!

Littlepea my friend has a galaxy and loves it.

Scout please pop in and say hi.(i'll make a cake)

Evening Scout

Troops all well school tomorrow Yipee for me !

Scout19075 · 10/01/2011 12:16

Afternoon, all.

December got away from me and now, mid-way into January, I finally feel like I'm getting back to normal/routine/everyday life. We spent two plus weeks at the in-laws over Christmas, went home for a few days and went back down for a long weekend (MrScout had meetings near where his parents live so came for the weekend so S could see his grandparents/aunts/cousins again).

D'oh....S just woke up and isn't happy, must run but be back tonight.

littlepea72 · 10/01/2011 16:08

Hi Scout glad to have you back Grin good to hear you are feeling ok

Fidelma happy days with everyone back to good health!

I have toothache, think its to do with a nerve in one of my teeth, as the pain goes all around one side of my mouth....just phoned denist & have appointment on Friday morning...thank godness im pregnant again so no fees! Wink

We were hoping that my DH would be home to live in time for the baby, he went back to Germany & today has been told no-one filed what was happening! Angry so no-one has been trying to get him home as we were promised. My Irish temper is slowly starting to bubble....not going to be nice! Really we are just a number.

Faith has stopped eating her lunch & dinner! Is anyone else having problems with their lo's eating?? All she will eat is porridge. Its been going on for about a week now...strange!

Hi to everyone else!! Grin

HappyTangerine · 10/01/2011 16:31

I'm a sleep deprived grump at the moment, Joe won't settle at all n his cot at night. He falls asleep then wakes and wants to be rocked. Screams himself sick(literally vomiting) if I try to stick it out and have im self settle. He randomly wakes up screaming and will only go back to sleep lying next to me. This has been going on for a week. His canines are almost through so I know he's teething badly. No temp, doc says no ear infection, tonsils fine etc but sounds like night terrors. Last night he went down at 7pm, woke up 3 times then down again within 15 mins each time. At 11.25pm he woke up again and didn't go back to sleep until 3.45am. Am so tired.

littlepea Sympathies on the tooth, does a hot water bottle help? Angry for you at the paperwork mix-up/disappearance-has that completely scuppered your dh coming home in time?

Joe is also being v fussy with his food at the moment. Saw hv last week, she said he's 26lbs, cruising nicely on the 50th centile and not to worry too much-he won't let himself starve. One day he likes one thing, the next, something else. It's better when he can "help" me prepare the food, so he's becomig a dab hand at making sandwich shapes with plastic cookie cutters and mashing potatoes. He also wants to feed his favourite bear half the time so it's sometimes a case of he'll eat if the bear eats. Do I sound mental? I have no idea if I'm doing any of this parenting thing right, I just muddle through.

Scout Hi, nice to see you, glad you're ok

fidelma Glad everyone is well again Grin. How was physio, did it sort out your back?

littlepea72 · 11/01/2011 07:38

HT Faith is also doing the same at night. Last night it started at 7.30 and continued about 5 times last night with the crying. If she gets a drink she goes over, but a couple of hours later.....all over again. I was also wondering about night terrors. Cant remember the last time she slept through.

If feeding teddy helps, then go for it! Joe seems more advanced, as Faith couldnt help me at all....you are very lucky! Anything that helps at this age would be great Grin for now we will live on porridge, fruit & bread, better than nothing & it cant last forever.

DS is sick, he has been up all night being sick. I will have to keep him off school, they must think he is never well, but since being back home, he has be sick alot.

Looks like DH will be sent to work in England...better than Germany as it will only be an hrs flight away, plus he will get home every weekend instead of the 5-6 weeks, the thought of doing this all alone is not nice, but it could be alot worse.

Today i am going to pig out on cake, will get in trouble tomorrow at the diabetic clinic....but dont care...its a big cream cake so I will cut you all a piece! Grin

Have a great day everyone!!!

HumphreysCorner · 11/01/2011 19:26

fidelma · 11/01/2011 22:04

HC hope he is OK

Littlepea I hope that the sickness clears soon.

HTAt least he will keep you fit lol Hugs XX

Busy at the Fidelma house.School, packed lunches, swimming kit, gym kit, hockey kit, school trips.dinner for all homework, music practice, house design and physio for me.Just a normal day Oh and Ice and Snow!

Scout19075 · 11/01/2011 22:59

S had his MMR/other one today, too. Was fine at the first but screamed the surgery down at the second. Took me ages to calm him and then he was very suspicious of the nurse the rest of our time in the treatment room.

Have lost more weight and have been losing (approx) 2+ kg/5 lbs every month since starting my treatment. Am now down to mid-twenties single girl-on-own weight. Have lost another jeans size (already went down two went I bought new jeans in the States and now they're too big). UGH. Eating's been a struggle, so have stocked up on snacks, too, and now try to eat/snack whenever S does. Wondering if it will stay off when I finish.

Waves to all -- internet dodgy here at the moment so going to post while I still have connection.

littlepea72 · 12/01/2011 10:11

Scout Shock at weight loss, I was a size 6/8 in my 20's, dont think I could get my big toe into those jeans now lol....Grin

Faith has her first MMR jab next week, is it bad???

Just back from the doctors again this morning. Sad Yesterday the doc clocked his temp at 44, not good, but with his form of austim, putting him into hospital could be really stressful (and for the nurses too!), so I had to get his temp down & liquids into him. He spent last night being sick, but this morning his temp was only 39/40. They think its more than likely to be swine flu, in a mild form. They are letting him stay at home, with the doctor coming here 3 times a day to check on him. Faith isnt allowed near the house for another 7 days. At least my MIL cant turn up, she works at a nursery & my FIL has a really bad lung infection, so they arent allowed near.....Im just about to paint the X on the door! Thank god I got my jab!

I shall just have to attack the last of that cream cake again lol Grin
And Faith decided to go walk-about yesterday, no hand holding, just took off....she did it at my mums! I wont be able to see her do it untill my DS is better, poor mum & dad, she is going to be unstoppable lol....

More later!! Grin

Mel are you out there????

HappyTangerine · 13/01/2011 01:08

Joe had MMR a few months ago. Absolutely fine, sleepy in the afternoon, bit of a grump the next day then went tearing around the house like a mini whirlwind to make up for it!

littlepea Your poor DS and poor you Sad. I hope he's turned a corner now and will quickly improve. Swine flu v scary, media are going loopy here in the North West as we've had a cluster of healthy person deaths, inc a 3 yr old. I'm in two minds about sourcing the vaccine privately for Joe,just not sure at the moment.

Lol at Faith the Explorer, she'll be unstoppable now! I predict your mum and dad will get very fit, very quickly. It must be so nice to have them nearby. Enjoy the cake!

fidelma MORE snow?! One day you will see the green and pleasant land again...Grin

scout Sounds like a scary weight loss, are you feeling ok with it?

Hi to everyone else. I've managed to sprain my right wrist and it's in a splint, v painful. You'll be most impressed with how quickly I've adapted though-I have become an expert at picking Joe up with my left arm. Buggy and high chair harnesses are really tough but dh working 10am-10pm so I'm toughing it out. The ironing is mounting up but I can't lift the iron and am under orders to rest. Ah well, tis a hard life!

fidelma · 13/01/2011 09:42

Ice Ice baby !

littlepea72 · 13/01/2011 13:09

I am sooooo embarrassed! I was watching "This Morning" with my son, and he started shouting my daddy my daddy!! I looked up to see a drag artist & thought ok.....lol. But yes, there was my DH! (not the drag artist! It was at his christmas work do in Germany, and there he was dancing away & then was talking to the cameras! Now my phone hasnt stopped ringing! Blush Oh the shame......lol

littlepea72 · 13/01/2011 13:11

HT I hope your wrist is feeling better, what a pain trying to do everything with 1 hand. And with your DH working those hours, not good. Forget the ironing, rest your wrist.

DS is starting to feel better since we got his temp down. Happy days!

Scout19075 · 13/01/2011 19:20

HappyTangerine · 14/01/2011 21:44

Also grabbing mini egg, thanks fidelma Wine anyone?

Joe is fast asleep after babbling for ages, I think he's talked himself out! Very funny moment yesterday when we were walking back from the shops-he went all wide eyed at seeing the refuse truck approaching. They stopped right near us at the end of the road to turn left and I told Joe to say hello and wave, which he did. Bless them, they all leaned out of the windows (2 out of each window!) waving madly and shouting hello. He was ever so pleased, then they beeped the horn for him and he beamed all the way home.

littlepea Lol at your dh and your ds pointing him out, how funny. Did your in-laws see it?

Waves to Iggly, Scout and anyone lurking
