Actually who's writing the script?? I have a request please, I know it's not true to life or very MN of me but I'm going to need 3Dhs at least & a bit on the side!!

oopsandbabycoconut · 29/05/2010 09:00

Morning Dizz

A bit of an olde stylee TS monologue going on there!!

dizzydixies · 29/05/2010 09:02

Ooooh who wants Richard Armitage (me me me) or Rupert perry-jones?!? Rupert is married to that gorgeous Irish actress dervla kerwin who would play VG very very nicely. Actually do any of the Corrs act??

Right enough, am done

dizzydixies · 29/05/2010 09:04

Sorry oops got carried away, I should never be let loose with an iPhone How is E this morning, am loving the photos thank you, another sniff for me please

dizzydixies · 29/05/2010 09:09

Have consulted Sazz who requests Colin Firth which is both brilliant & perfect!! However rather upsetting st same time as means I'm obviously going to have to have an affair with her onscreen DH. Intact at this rate I'm going to have to be thread home wrecking slut whore & road test all the dh's

RedLentil · 29/05/2010 09:23

I've had an unrequited passion for Liam Neeson since he was on A Woman of Substance in the 1980s.

I will, however, allow you the odd snog with him in return for cakes.

dizzydixies · 29/05/2010 09:45

yipee!!!!!

readyforanything · 29/05/2010 10:01

Morning all

Apologies for any name confusion, forgot i had changed it before I posted. Way back when was just knackered all the time, then was after peace, tranquility and stresslessness [deluded emoticon], but now after a pretty tumultuous couple of years one way and another, am as the name says, feeling ready and able to cope with whatever life throws at us.

Up at my mum's at the moment (hence the 5 mins to post). Weather is rubbish which is a bit of a shame. Still, it's supposed to move east (sorry everyone else) so hopefully won't spend too long here.

oops you are sounding so serene

dizzy your fb page is amazing. I want to come and live with you forever...

Famous last words on the catch up front - children in scrap mode. Gotta go, will try to catch up and post properly later.

dizzydixies · 29/05/2010 10:30

always welcome here but I warn you, if you think your kids are scrapping you've seen NOTHING yet

hotterpotter · 29/05/2010 11:03

I think that's you ataraxis...

Hello all, rubbish rainy day here so think we will waste it not tidying up...

Very excited about the prospect of lots of meetups over the summer is anyone up for camping somewhere midlandish? We are definitely hoping to do it 10-11 August to break up the journey home from Suffolk but could perhaps be persuaded to do it another time too.

lwfh we may even get two meetups out of you

Oh, and I bagsy John Corbett for my real life screen DH

dizzydixies · 29/05/2010 11:05

oh ffs hots, am going to have to shag your DH too he was LOVELY in Northern Exposure!! is your DH the ruggish lumberjack sort?

raining on an off here too

cyteen · 29/05/2010 13:24

potter I'm up for a weekend in the Midlands somewhere but might book us into a cosy B&B or similar instead. We have a two person tent and no time or money to upgrade, although would like to look into it next year (once this fucking idiotic course is done, sigh).

Not a fan of John Corbett so your DH is safe I can't think of a bald man I fancy apart from DP, so I guess he'd have to play himself.

Pissing down here, and I am feeling glum after getting uni presentation feedback that basically says 'you sucked'. It's a shame it's taken me doing this MA to realise that academia is not for me - when your first reaction to 90% of the reading is 'what a load of wilfully obscure wank', it's probably a sign that you should do something different.

pertelote · 29/05/2010 14:38

Ok, here you go, full property update

First thing today I went out and saw two that weren't any good, here and here... second one is better than the first but I'm not that keen on the street.

Then back here for THREE viewings, all seemed a bit more serious than last week's... so we now have our fingers firmly crossed because after that we went out again and saw this which I love. It is a little further from the station than we were hoping for but such a lovely house! So please remind me that it would be very silly to offer for it before getting an offer on ours because I am very tempted...

hotterpotter · 29/05/2010 15:30

OMG pert that house is beautiful, and the garden looks magnificent. Go on go on go on and put in an offer! Completely A bit out of my league I'm afraid

dizzydixies · 29/05/2010 15:34

Pert I too love it I want bay windows

pertelote · 29/05/2010 17:32

I know, it is smashing isn't it. Reasonably priced for what it is and this area, I think. The garden was fab - and it's right by the park too. I am NOT going to be hasty, I'm not I'm not... but you can see Emma Thompson sitting at the kitchen table discussing her motivation, can't you

Cyteen sorry your feedback was so discouraging. Is your course tutor any help? What's the structure, have you got a lot left to do? For what it's worth I do think it is completely normal to get sick of both the subject and academia in general before you are done...

dizzydixies · 29/05/2010 17:48

ah cyteen I'm so sorry I missed that - what a bunch of bollox if I had some smiley stickers I'd put them all over your presentation

oopsandbabycoconut · 29/05/2010 17:50

Hellooo All

We are home!!! I am sitting here smallest girl sleeping in my left am and biggest girl snuggled in my right, watching Peppa Pig. DH has been sent for a nap as he is doing the late cuddles tonight so I can sleep eofre E does her middle of the night playdate!

Pert - house is fantastic.

Cyteen - HUGS

Will try and post some piccues to FB group later - when I can find the cable! DD looks a complete little scruff in the piccies as DH has no idea about dressing her!

RedLentil · 29/05/2010 17:53

Very lovely house Pert.

Cyteen, if I can do anything at all to help with getting the course done and dusted let me know. The wilfully obscure wankerish side of it wasn't my cup of tea either, but I do speak 'wankish' so can decode and blag about it on demand.

Still waiting on Liam's call.

RedLentil · 29/05/2010 17:55

Oops. Welcome home.

Sorry for bookending your post with sweary ones. We'll get back to best behaviour soon.

How fabulous to have your two girls snuggled up.

CaptainCaveman · 29/05/2010 18:06

Welcome home to babyoops,I'm just off to fb to check out your name!!

Assignment done and handed in

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 29/05/2010 18:13

welcome home Oops and Oops-a-baby I can't wait to see more photos although I think we're all in agreement about how much we all lurve her already

Cyteen - I can thoroughly recommend Red and her fabulous way with words - she and VG have been babying talking me through the confusing and very new world of blogging today thank you ladies.

Red - I told Liam not to phone you as you were busy sorting me out, will give him the all clear now

oh and Oops - time to choose your fantasy DH for the movie!!

Cece - you will have lost hair after having O so it might be from that, remember he's not even 2 yet. At least its behind your ear, my friends was on her front hairline, it WILL frow back but you can't stress about it as that will make it worse. calm thoughts and rescue remedy and I'm sending growing vibes to your non-hairy ear

oopsandbabycoconut · 29/05/2010 18:39

Dizzy - A local reporter recently described DH as the town's Johnny Depp but I think Johnny is a touch wet behind the ears - I like my men big and rough looking. None of these girly looking men here!! Best do some thinking then.....................

Cavey - Think positively at least it wasn't right in the middle of your fringe

Hi Red

dizzydixies · 29/05/2010 18:47

Lordy as Jonny Depp?!?! I;d be lucky if mine was desc as the local Eammon Holmes

cyteen · 29/05/2010 19:29

oops how lovely for you all four to be home together There really is nothing nicer than family snuggles. Perhaps that's part of my lack of motivation atm - I find it hard to get passionate about abstract notions when there's a living, growing person standing in front of me doing all this cool and occasionally destructive stuff.

pert bang an offer in for that house RIGHT NOW. It is beautiful, my ideal family home. Am totally, totally jealous that you can even have a sniff of owning it Mind you, your current place is lovely too. No wonder you always seem so on top of things.

cece you have the most fabulously shiny and lush looking hair, so hopefully a tiny thin spot will soon be repopulated. My hair seems to be sending out colonists to my chin [old gimmer emoticon]

Thank you all for humouring my stupid moans. I have emailed my supervisor to get some more ideas about how to use the criticisms positively. It's not even that I dispute most of what they've said - just hard to hear someone pick apart something you were quite proud of. And there are a couple of things that I think are bollocks, but the lead examiner is, to be blunt, a notorious bitch and I can't be arsed getting into a row with her over one or two marks.

I just feel like an idiot for taking this on, even though when I started life was completely different and I had no way of knowing that really I'm not cut out for academia. At least it has answered my questions on that score; once it's done, I can move on to the sort of writing I actually want to do.

Hope you're all having lovely evenings. Is anyone planning to watch Eurovision?
