FoghornLeghorn · 27/05/2010 08:56

I'm not in the with the FB crowd yet

FoghornLeghorn · 27/05/2010 09:03

Springaporesling - DH is a painter & decorator / chippy. Majority of work in either of those fields is predominantley self employed which we don't want to get back into - we did it for so many years as we just feel there's not enough stability for a family with small children and it being the only wage. We are looking at alternatives, maybe something he's never done before but the way things are at the moment, I'm sure it's going to be a hard slog.

CrispyTheCrisp · 27/05/2010 09:13

Foggy, i know a painter/decorator who does extremely well as he is good/reliable and flexible. I am SURE he could do well and fit in around school hours (ours did - he changed from events mgt to painting to spend more time with the family).

Will try and sort FB thing later if we can befriend each other. I know Oops was nervous about DD1's full name being put on MN as it is quite unique as is DD2's name. My email addy is my personal one although i think dizz has a MN one which might be possible to use to link up?

FoghornLeghorn · 27/05/2010 09:30

Crisp - DH is very flexible - he has been working evenings and weekends for the last 2 weeks to bring in some extra cash. I suppose it's a case of building up a client base again.

Can sort the FB thing at some point - I will set up a Mumsnet email addy for myself

cyteen · 27/05/2010 09:34

CONGRATULATIONS OOPS! Welcome DD2 Ahhh I am so broody. Can someone send me the photo? Because that will help

dizzydixies · 27/05/2010 12:31

[email protected] forever looking for hook up

dizzydixies · 27/05/2010 12:44

Am I daft, who is readyforanything??

springaporesling · 27/05/2010 12:45

Wow that's quick! What a beautiful name too.

FHLH BIL is a painter and decorator and although self employed too is on contract to the same firm to paint new supermarkets and has been for a long time - could he do something like that - it seems to be pretty stable. Would something like that work?

dizzydixies · 27/05/2010 13:05

Foggy - get him a good rep with someone who works with the local polis and he's sorted for life - there is a local boy who did some good reasonably priced work for a copper here who then put a recommendation on the intranet and now the boy is never out of work!!

cyteen · 27/05/2010 13:26

lol (or rather puerile snigger) at 'forever looking for hook up'. Filth!

Double well done for such an efficient labour oops Did you get the choirs of angels and harp music accompaniment this time?

dizzydixies · 27/05/2010 13:31

cyteen - you may well have inspired me for a namechange there!!

LadyGardenia · 27/05/2010 14:03

hotterpotter · 27/05/2010 14:23

Wow oops 1h 30 is pretty good, although bless you, you've been contracting on and off for a month or so; it probably adds up to a less inducing time overall
