Books Forgot to mention that I have suffered from migraines all my life, usually lasting 3 days and always on the right side. I haven't had them since giving birth but these flashes started. They reckon the migraines are firing but not taking. I have slightly swollen optic nerves and lots of floaters too.

How was Slimbridge Pat? I went to a kids farm dooo daar with my parents today, they paid of course as I'm so broke. Fab fab day!

Books - I have zero patience and broke down into tears and couldn't decide whether to cry or shout at her after multiple accidents the other day So I mainly stuck to grumpy cow until bedtime As she'd repeatedly told me she didn't need the loo and then.... whoops! Grrrrr!

Well for the first time on this thread I'm glad my H has left me, as no sport on in this house, unless I choose it. Wimbledon is a must for me. Football - NO WAY!

As for the dresses, I'm hopeless on fashion and clothes, they look lovely but what would I know

DOG Now that you mention it, I do remember long bouts of not having migraines but not sure if they ran on a 7 year cycle. I've never had flashes before. When I realized what they were, (ie;not the monitor or reflections in daytime) I hummed and hawed about going to doctor just because they never hurt, never became worse and I never got any headaches, let alone a migraine, but then my friend died of brain cancer, so I thought I'd better ring the doctor.

We watch sports in this house because I make DH watch art related shows and he has to listen to me and my running commentary. Actually, I don't mind so much because he works so much. I've been getting into tennis though. I went to Wimbledon a few years ago and thought it was great... hot, but fun. Holy crap it was hot. London was the hottest city in Europe the day I had to wear my graduation gown, made of wool! Only in England! The lady that was monitoring us to be sure we didn't bring anything in got an earful when I said that under no circumstances will I be leaving my water and fan behind to sit in a wool in Westminster Hall. It was sweltering.

I think DD is engaging in combat. She is running around with a stainless steal bowl on her head, stopping to point at various things and saying "ZZZZiiii ZZZZiii ZZZiiii". Hilarious.

Hello DOG

I don't have a garden being in a flat, so a bit of you. However there is grass outside downstairs overlooked by about 30 flats. I'm off to Cassiobury park today which has a little ride on train, paddling pools and playground, so I'm planning on taking a picnic and being there for as long as possible today. Looks like its turning to showers by Sunday, so I want to make the most of it today!

Hoping to go to the beach when the weather gets a tad hotter again. My mum seems to think Wittering (sp?) is the best? Any thoughts?

Lovely that Isla is still asleep. It won't foul up her routine for later in the day? Or is she very flexible?

EEK!!! I'm not pregnant!!! NO! (I don't think so...lol) We've only had sex once since my last period... can't possibly be. Speaking of sex... FIRST TIME EVER! DH had to decline sex last night due to chafe in the undercarriage. LOL. It was awful, the poor thing. I laughed. He wanted to take a picture of it to take back to work to show the guys! The things that go on in the kitchen.

chefswife · 04/06/2010 19:48

CRAP I am having the same signifiers... no desire for coffee, wanting to sleep, sleep, sleep and no appetite.

teaandcakeplease · 04/06/2010 19:49

Sounds painful! Your poor H.

120 · 04/06/2010 19:53

tea, meant to say we are in a flat too. We spent the day at the farm, then when it all got too hot, came home and 'paddled' in the bath for an hour. they loved it! who needs a garden...

OP posts:
teaandcakeplease · 04/06/2010 20:18

Good idea about paddling in bath on hot days! Good plan!

chefswife · 04/06/2010 20:45

Thanks 120

We are getting a paddling pool this summer for sure. Although, by the looks of the weather out there, you would wonder if summer will ever come.

I love being here for evening chats... rarely happens as we are having lunch and I usually FB (bad mommy) during that time and MN at dinner...(bad mommy again ) Tis all good. I read to DD the posts and have a laugh with her as if she completely understands me. lol. She has master the fork! Right now! She is so pleased with herself. I love when they know they've figured out something really good.

teaandcakeplease · 04/06/2010 20:56

Awww Chef you sound like such a lovely mum and your dd is very very cute! Well done on mastering the fork!

PatTheHammer · 04/06/2010 20:57

120- love the bath paddling!

Uh-oh Chef- Check it out!!! Get a test done soon! Bit TMI but my DH gets that too, he does lots of sport in frankly quite inappropriate pants. He uses DS's nappy cream (calendula) to clear it up...............god, he will LOVE me for saying that!
LOVE that red dress, what d'ta mean a size smaller?? You are like an 8 or something non?

I thought of you being lulled to sleep by big and small this afternoon. We had just come back from a fairly long stroll on the common (my friend had cancelled as her LO has sunstroke) and the kids were playing in the playroom as they were hot and bothered outside. I lay down on the bed we have in there and must of dozed off as the next thing I know its about 15mins later and I am being force-fed a duplo Lion courtesy of DS !!

Tea- Slimbridge was fabulous yesterday, The weather was fab and DS LOVED paddling in welly-boot land. I sunburnt my back though. Lots of fluffy goslings and ducklings around for the cute factor and the otters just cheer me up with their playful scampy ways
How was the park, it sounds fab??
Do you mean West Wittering??? It is about 10mins away from where my parents live and it is a fantastic beach, really beautiful. If its tack you want as well you could always spend an hour in Bognor Beach, tack galore!! Its fab and I love it! My hometown is a bit further up and is grottier and tackier still but I miss it shedloads in the summer, we were a 15min walk from the beach as children[sob]!

Books-LOL at your DD playing with your friends baby, DS is the same. He is fascinated with dummies, despite never wanting one. He loves bottles and dummies in babies mouths and patting their little heads.
Sorry about your migraines, hope you had a nice day with parents.

Tink- have a great b'day tomorrow.

Dog- we ALL woke up at 8.30am this morning, Z included! DD had her nursery photos at 9am so it was a mad dash out of the house with toast in hand. We were 5 mins late but luckily they were running late! Hope Isla woke up at a reasonable hour!

We have an action packed morning at outdoor pool and then DD has a birthday party at 3pm. I feel worn out just thinking of it. Oh, and I have to swim tomorrow eveing as have not gone tonight as I don't feel fantastic, bit sicky. Must go though as another 2lbs off this week and only 4 weeks left now till this ruddy wedding!!!!!!

PatTheHammer · 04/06/2010 21:03

Sorry, missed 'tomorrow' out of my last paragraph!

Well done with the fork for little V!

Z loves spearing peas with his, speaking of which after my disaster at dinner-time I just witnessed almost total silence at the table as DD and DS stuffed their faces with oven-baked salmon and butternut squash risotto. I have NEVER seen them eat so much, all you could hear was nom-nom-nom

Recipe from Sainsburys Little Ones website if anyone wants it, although I left out the fromage frais and served it with parmesan instead as the kids love it.
