oh no dog!!

PatTheHammer · 01/06/2010 16:17

What's going on with Dog? I'm so behind

Just shipped off my sister and nephew who have been here since saturday so we have had a fab weekend, if a little busy!

DH still in agony with his back so not lifting a finger..................not really that much difference then

Allshoppedout- Is that you Tink???

teaandcakeplease · 01/06/2010 17:08

Just having a tough time with her DS. Not sure if she'd mind me linking it in? Hoping she doesn't. It's here

Lenni · 01/06/2010 21:29

Am lurking. Computer died at DH's work so have once again lost ours and am having to read thread on phone. Next to impossible to reply to thread properly as can't scroll back once started typing. Hoping sorted soon.

Dog - lots of hugs. Hang in there, you are doing so well with him. Gorgeous pic of I on fb, she is so cute.

Moose - Hope DS2 better today. I suffer with mouth ulcers all the time (relates to my arthritis) and they really are the most horribly painful affliction. If he can bear it then salt water/medicated mouthwash gargles really do help the pain and speed up healing but hurt so much for a few seconds that he might not be keen. Drinking plenty of water through a straw also helps me. I have had mine numbed at the dentist in the past too when have got really bad! I was there for a check up and they kindly sprayed them with anaesthetic! I was heavily pg with DD and they took pity on me!

Hope potty training ok today Tea.

Good to hear from you Elkie, hope you Mum coping ok with chemo.

Hello everyone else, pat, 120, tink and anyone else lurking.

teaandcakeplease · 01/06/2010 21:37

Hello Lenni

She's been resistant on poo's last 2 full days and not going on loo, accident with poo yesterday and none today but she farted a lot tonight, so I suspect when I go and check on her later she'll have done one in nappy tonight, so she's holding onto them IYSWIM here?

Wee's great though, no accidents there. Gah!

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 09:35

Is everyone off having a lovely time this half term?

missjackson · 02/06/2010 10:04

Hi tea - I'm here, just very busy with my sister staying and lots of guests over half term... holidays are hard work for us (we run a riding holiday place, not sure if you knew that, and my PIL run the B&B where we help out too) so we are always pleased when they are over!

No time for a proper catch up though I'm afraid - I have just realised N's little graze on his knee has blown up into a horrible swollen infected thing [bad mummy] so I have to take him to the docs. Then off to Hay festival.

Hope you all get some sunshine today.

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 10:08

Your place sounds divine, makes me long for a holiday. Next year though when finances are better and divorce over. Isabella would love it.

Not divine for you with all that hard work though

120 · 02/06/2010 17:18

hi tink

lol. just found this email to DP:

Subject: the DD cheatsheet

6.30 wake for milk
back to sleep (hopefully)
8.30 breakfast
10 snack
10.30 nap (*or 2 hours after proper wake up)
12.30 lunch
2.30 milk
3 nap
4.30 snack
6 supper
6.30 bath
7 milk
7.30 bed

-- naps - she sleeps between 40m and 1.5 hrs usually
-- snacks - tend to be fruit & bread/toast

Whats wrong?
crying and wanting to be picked up/biting shoulder

  • could be thirsty or hungry
rubbing her eyes/head, being a bit manic or trying to lie down on the floor
  • probably tired
Has she eaten/had milk in the last 1/2 hour
  • check her nappy
wringing her hands and staring at you
  • try a different game; singing or mirrors are good, try water/snack

for going out:
3 nappies & wipes & plastic bag
small toys
snacks & water
hat & jacket
sling or buggy

Love it 120! I used to do things like that when with hubby too.

moosemama · 03/06/2010 00:29

Don't ask what I'm doing up at this time of night, suffice to say ds2 is still in a lot of pain with his tongue.

Just popped in to say have bought myself a birthday present from Isabella Oliver 365. It was an absolute bargain, so even dh said I had to buy it. here Shame it wasn't available in the pink though, as I don't think I can wear black to the wedding I've got to go to in August.

Right am off to try and resettle ds2 and dd (who he woke up whilst screaming the house down - again! ) Have had them both up on the sofa watching Thomas The Tank with me since 10.30!

chefswife · 03/06/2010 05:32

Good morning Ladies.

Moose Ooh... poor DS2. You deserve that birthday pressie for sure.

120 I should've done that kind of list for DH. Mine would add no TV after dinner as it over stimulates her and it is hard to settle DD after watching TV that late in her night. Not her shows either, things like the news, sports, (hockey finals are on now, Wimbledon starts soon and The World Cup all at the same time. My head is reeling already at how much the tv will be on through the day.) He didn't believe me and just kept saying, 'no it doesn't'. I spend 5 days a week with her alone, doing bedtime routine and the only nights I have a problem getting her settled is on nights that he has had the TV blaring... the commercials piss me off the most. Just mute the bloody things. They are so obnoxious. Anyhow, sorry, this is becoming a rant.

I'm feeling a little put off tonight. No reason really, but I feel like I'm waiting for something to set me off. I'm on edge or something. I've just sat her for a few minutes with my fingers resting on the keyboard... must be time to go to bed as I probably shouldn't be venting a possible pissy situation just before trying to go to sleep. Night night.

allshoppedout · 03/06/2010 09:12

mm - dress gorgeous

morning to everyone else

having a day in with the girls last o my own as dh off tom

PatTheHammer · 03/06/2010 09:30

Hi Tink, enjoy your girls today

Where has this week gone, thursday already????!

Moose- lovely dress, sorry about DS2. Hope you all got some sleep.

Thoughts please on this. tried on about 4 or 5 in monsoon on sunday and liked them all, but think this wil be best for the wedding I have next month. And the 12 fits, hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are some really nice ones out there but anything strapless or spaghetti straps just looks awful because of my ample boobage. Also anything over about £60 is out due to lack of funds.

books- DS sounds as suitably entranced with the animals as your DD, went to Cotswold Wildlife Park on monday and he especially liked the monkeys!

120- LOL at that list, sounds like the sort of thing I would leave for DH. But he is an absolute idiot sometimes, would forget to give then drinks, change nappy etc for hours on end!

Thanks for mentioning the world cup and wimbledon Chef, forgot that I won't being seeing much of DH in the coming months

Tea- Hope the nappy/poo situation going better.

Dog- hope you had a better day with A and your DP gets lots of work soon.

Just making a picnic. Off to Slimbridge with a friend today and it looks gorgeous so taking both the kids sunsuits and plenty of cream!!!

books I'm with you on the migraines. get them pre AF, then have them for the first two days. worse in heat. feels like you have whiplash and a hangover together. plus noise, movement and bright lights are hell. So the full day in the park today was nearly my undoing! tha aura bit sounds cool, but I bet it isn't!

Books I hear ya on the migraine front. I'm still waiting to go for a second round of a CT Scan to see why I'm getting flashes of light in my peripheral. They are usually small little flashes, (at night, I thought it was the baby monitor), but in the last week, there have been a couple big, full on, can't be mistaken flashes from my brain. A wee bit scary.

Pat Just went through all the dresses at Monsoon. Love them. I've pegged the red frilly one for an end of summer wedding. I want to drop one more dress size before trying any one.

Today I've experienced the hardest thing about being a mom, well for me anyhow. My body and mind are telling me to sleep but DD is telling me its time to do anything but. No energy. lol... there's a kids show on right now, Big and Small and they are singing a song about going to dreamland when you sleep. Argh... now external forces are telling me to sleep. I went to the gym today and totally coped out of exercising; after 10 minutes on the bike, I was finished. Then I popped to the shop before coming home, because there is no way in hell I'll be walking to the store later, and after standing in front of the juice selection, I decided not to get the big bottle of apple juice because it seemed to heavy to carry to the car... its not really, thats just how wimpy I feel today.

DD is using her PB&J like a phone. Too funny.
