bronze · 05/10/2010 16:32

Yes Boff, I'm north Norfolk at the moment but am moving slightly further south. 60 miles up the a1065 and keep going if you want the scenic route

kazkiss · 05/10/2010 18:57

I heard my name mentioned!?

Hello strangers. I have attempted to read the whole thread at once and now i have even less of a clue whats happening!

Sorry I have been soo absent the twins are little terrors at the moment (but somehow manage to escape being locked in the understairs cupboard by being so cute and funny)

Ohhh meet up, I am very interested I just have to check when DH xmas work do is? Then i have to work out how to get there (although i used to study near kings cross (and not in the profession you are all thinking).

Just a tad worried as all your FB profiles are so glamarous and yummy mummy is and frankly i am not!

So I am back, and I hope to stay for a bit longer this time......

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 05/10/2010 20:36

Hello Kazkiss! Grin

BoffinMum · 05/10/2010 22:15

Hello Kazkiss!

Bronze, does the place begin with B and is in S?

bronze · 05/10/2010 23:23

No though I used to live near there. Tis near Dereham in the middle of nowhere. My description was rubbish

We went to visit the school today and its fabulous. I couldn't quite believe it. Just trying to sort out applying for it to start after half term which takes 15 school days , we already don't have that and we're still waiting for our credit check confirmation so we can prove to county council our address.
Can't apply for free transport til we have places so I think we are in a bit of a pickle. Lots of chasing begging and pleading tomorrow

AuldAlliance · 06/10/2010 19:00

Doughnut, I have sent you a message via FB.

Bicnod · 07/10/2010 05:57

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkkk

O has now been screaming inconsolably for half an hour (he's with DH) having screamed inconsolably for an hour and a half before going to bed last night. Don't know how much more of this I can take :( :( :( :(

PuzzleRocks · 07/10/2010 08:23

Oh no. Have I missed something? Is he teething/unwell?

How are you now?

BoffinMum · 07/10/2010 11:19

Assuming it's teething ... Nurofen for children, a good dose of Piriton, warm bath and stick him in bed for a bit and close the door, and give yourselves all a break IMO.

gingersarah · 07/10/2010 11:31

Bronze ? congratulations on your house!
Doughnut ? where have you encountered F0ot10ng before? He really is an almighty arsehole.
Auld ? so sorry to hear about your knee ? is there no way even being crippled can?t count an excuse for some sort of a break? I know people who would have spent the past few weeks on the sofa with a pile of PG Wodehouse and a box of Green & Blacks for less than that. You really need to work on your work ethic, it is out of control.

Hello hello to everyone else! Would love to come on 18th, will have to make sure it fits in the diary (feigned social whirl ? actually just afraid that might be the one night in the year DP wants to go out as well)

Bicnod, poor you. What ails O, have you any idea? I would try Boff?s suggestion. Sounds like you need a good scream too.

Thanks for the congratulations. It?s all a bit strange, now I am not sick any more I am wondering if it was all a dream and hoping there really is a baby in there, or else I am just inexcusably fat.

Bicnod · 07/10/2010 14:12

Thanks ladies, and sorry for just coming on to rant. It was either that or throw O out the window Confused

I think it's a combination of teething and the 18 month sleep regression come early. Although he had a high temp yesterday (38.8) so not sure if he's unwell or if that's also the teething. Either way, he's taken to screaming A LOT recently, either at bed time or when he wakes during the night, and at naptime as well which is frustrating.

Oh well, as with everything I must remember that this too shall pass.

So Kaz and Gui are you two definites for the Christmas do? I'm going to assume yes (because that's what I want the answer to be)

So the list so far is:
Puzzle
Boff
Schulte
Doughnut
Kaz
Gui
Bicnod

Anyone else need to be added?

And it's 18th December so stick it in your diaries. Can't wait. I'm going to get slightly pished so beware (although it doesn't take much these days)

Puzzle will you prod Wriggly and see if she's coming too?

Bicnod · 07/10/2010 14:13

Ginger only just read your post - hurrah! Let us know when you've spoken to DP - would be lovely to see you again x

ZuluWarrior · 07/10/2010 14:35

Hmmm. Bicnod I just commented on your facebook thing just to come on here and see Boff has given the same advice, but much, much better.

Kaz lovely to see you! Isn't it like old times?

Auld, I must chat to you sometimes about full time working. I think I'm about to be introduced. Although my husband doesn't keep the hours yours does.

Bronze your life sounds pretty crazy too.

Hello everyone else!

RespectTheDoughnut · 07/10/2010 14:47

Just a quick one:

Bicnod - slightly pished? That's it? :( Sorry O's being a pain. This too shall pass, this too shall pass... (I know it doesn't really help)

Ginger - f00tl0ng hangs around the feminism / relationships topics, preying on the vulnerable & trying to fight for the voice of 'the men'. What this really means is 'the arseholes'. He genuinely thinks that being a woman makes you inferior, and having the audacity to be a feminist makes your opinions invalid. You only have to think about what his name is apparently alluding to to get the picture Hmm (He is my biggest irritant on the whole of MN, except possibly for his cyber-lover B4rmy4rmy who is much the same).

WFH - what is it that you hate about your job? Is it anything that has a workaround?

& kaz - I'm definitely not a yummy mummy Grin

Bicnod · 07/10/2010 14:58

Thanks Zulu - I did actually leave him to it after nearly an hour of messing around and screaming and he fell asleep after about 5 minutes of shouting. Feels horrible walking out though :(

Ok Doughnut, completely hammered - is that better? Seriously though, 2 glasses of wine and I'm practically on the floor so it won't take much - my liver's not as young as it used to be.

This thread is soooo funny! Grin

Bicnod · 07/10/2010 19:13

Thanks Boff - food for the soul :)

ZuluWarrior · 07/10/2010 19:52

I am crying with laughter. I love the toddler who pissed in his Mum's handbag Grin Grin.

Schulte · 07/10/2010 20:19

Bicnod with a temp that high I wouldn't think that's teething... could be an ear infection? Has he been snotty recently? Pulling his ear? Hope the poor mite feels better soon xxx

OP posts:
Bicnod · 07/10/2010 22:29

Thanks Schulte - he's sleeping now and bedtime was far less painful than last night so hopefully he's on the mend. Yes, I thought 38.8 was a bit high for teething. Don't think it's an ear infection as he's not pulling ears or particularly snotty. Temp seems to have calmed down today anyway.

When we going to meet up young lady? I haven't seen your new pad yet and I'm very curious :) x

PuzzleRocks · 08/10/2010 08:33

Morning

I will ask Wriggly later today.

So who started watching the Apprentice?

WFH - I wanted to reply to your question but it's one of those where only you will know what works best.
I walked away from a very good job offer and have all but abandoned my "career". We have no spare money and we are stuck renting for the time being but I have no regrets and would absolutely do the same again. But that's us.
I hope you work out what's best for you.

bronze · 08/10/2010 20:47

We too are renting for now and live a very cheap but happy life so that I can stay at home. I have no great career ambitions though.

BabyBolat · 10/10/2010 20:29

Hello again all. Hope everyone is well.

Forgive my mood. I am in a grump because I have had five genuinely lovely days off at home and tomorrow I have to go back to work and wont see my family until Friday. [GRUMPY EMOTICON!!].

Boff, I've only got half way through that chat but has almost made me happy again Grin

Bicnod, how is O? Hopefully he's better now. Did you decide on the job and the move?

WFH. Go with your heart. You can cut costs if you need to.

Doughnut, how was the date??

Life in the BB household is remarkably calm (if not a bit grumpy this evening). I have had 5 days off and in that time have managed to find tenants for the house, organise all my paperwork for the house, finish the application for DH's British passport and spend lots of time with K. It was ace. We went to Monkey World on Friday (they are K's favourite animals) and spent over an hour in the chimpanzee house while K went from window to window shouting 'MONKEY!' at the top of his voice over and over again as they all came up and kissed him through the glass. He was cream crackered at the end of it but had such a good day. We went to family birthday parties and played outside. I saw friends (which rarely happens anymore Blush and DH and I even had a day shopping today sans baby which was much less stressful.

I'm currently getting even more grumpy with the miming and dragging out of X factor! Waiting for single father to start.

What are you all up to?

BabyBolat · 10/10/2010 20:33

Also, is anyone else looking at pre-schools?

We need to register K now if he is going to get a place at 3 and it is so bloody stressful! I have narrowed it down to three, one is my favourite but is linked to a private school and I am just not sure I want to commit to 6k plus school fees from reception year at the moment and I don't think it is fair to put him there for him to make friends and then take him out if i decide I don't want to / cant afford to let him go there.

My second choice is nice but quite far away from home.

hmmm
