....where we ditch the talk of babies/lack of sleep etc and concentrate on some Salient Social Planning

  • where to meet
  • when to meet
  • what to wear
  • what to drink
Who's up for it then ladies?

So meeting in York City Centre at lunch time on saturday 20th Nov.

Anyone else?

Arcadie · 08/11/2010 14:46

I have singstar. And can bring the PS2.

PLease feel free to put orders in for me to do a shop in York and bring it on the day.

Have PLENTY of baby toys that I can bring to the cottage.

Particularly anyone who's coming on the train - feel free to let me know anything bulky that you don't want to put in and I'll bring it over.

Who was it that wanted a lift from the station?

AND IWCAS Please say if there's ANYTHING we can do to make it possible for you to come. I REAAAAAAAAAALLLY want to meet you and Simeon is desperate to meet Ramsey. It's just "Ramsey this" and "Ramsey that" whenever he sees him on facebook. Grin

BusyMissIzzy · 08/11/2010 17:02

Great list Arcadie, and I would love a lift from the station, as I need to check into the cottage (it's booked in my name), and I'm arriving by train. Also, I feel very cheeky asking, but do you by any chance know anyone in York who would have a spare carseat I could borrow? It's the one thing that I think I'll struggle with on the train. But don't worry, I'll manage if I have to.

Arcadie · 08/11/2010 19:46

I will get my head onto it.

evitas · 09/11/2010 11:22

I'm so excited!

Hotel and train are booked for the family (yes my mum, grandmother and husband are also coming to visit York) :)

I'll start memorising real names vs MN names :)

x

sparklersarahandco · 09/11/2010 11:33

evitas i am trying to do that too! lol

Arcadie · 09/11/2010 14:23

BMI My superchum has a reaar facing infant car seat we can borrow and a travel cot or two going spare if anyone needs one.

PacificDogwood · 09/11/2010 16:07

Gosh, I have not checked into the thread in aaaaages - I think I was kind of in denial about how close it actually was Blush!

I'll be coming by car too, so am happy to bring bulky/heavy things. I have not really thought about food etc yet, but will bring cake and wine Grin.

BMI, I could bring you a car seat for Isobel but is that of any use if you are going to have been in a car already by the time I arrive Confused?? Let me know; it is easy enough to fling it in if needed Smile.

I will have to work until 6pm on Friday, so will probably not leave until 7pm, 3 hour drive, gah - I think I will stay at BIL's overnight and catch up with you ladies on Saturday if that's ok. I just don't fancy trying to find the cottage in the dark, tired, late etc etc.

Oh, I am excited if ill prepared...Hmm

PacificDogwood · 09/11/2010 16:08

Oh, and you all have an unfair advantage re names, btw, you FBers, you!

PacificDogwood · 09/11/2010 16:12

IWCAS, nooooooo, I've only just seen you are not coming Sad - can we not all chip in to make it possible for you to be there??
And you have to drink eat at home to, surely?
I cannot do anything re transport, but will happily add to the 'Save the IWCAS Two'Fund Wink if there is going to be one. Or is that a cheeky suggestion?

PacificDogwood · 09/11/2010 16:13

too, gah, not to Blush

BusyMissIzzy · 09/11/2010 17:40

Grin Thanks for the offer of the carseat but you're right, ideally I need it as soon as I arrive. Also, there's an easy solution to the name problem; spend more time on FB Wink

Arcadie that would be fab, thanks so much to you and your friend. Are you sure it's no problem? I think we're fine for cots; the cottage has two and iirc sarah, Melk and Pacific are bringing travel cots with them.

I am also happy to chip where I can in to help bring iwcas to York. Ramsay is one of the best March 2010 babies, we NEED him there. Don't tell the other babies I said that though; especially not Isobel.

evitas · 09/11/2010 17:53

I also want to meet IWCAS and baby Ramsay I still have this image of him eating cheese and making a funny face :)
I'm also happy to contribute!
x

Arcadie · 09/11/2010 17:53

Dear Pacific My RL name is Becki. But I'll happily answer to Arcadie. But if you call me Becki, please can you pronounce it so I know you've remembered it's an i at the end. I'm ever so particular about that. Grin

sparklersarahandco · 09/11/2010 21:41

Grin you ladies really do make me smile, x

i will answer to any name you choose generally even the rude ones!!! hahahahaha

and BeckI you will always be RKD!!!!LOL

SO ICWAS have we convinced you that Ramsay and you are needed at the meet the offer of transport still stands, i can come pick you up from the doos(with the help of the sat nav!!!)

cannot believe we are counting days now! lol

(i am so looking forward to a break away from DD- i know thats awful but she is really testing me right now and i think a break is really in need for my sanity! her -life-- Grin i am gong to contact the dreaded HV about her i think!

Siamesecatwoman · 10/11/2010 14:57

I'm on board too. I was struggling to think of what to get IWCAS and ramsey for Christmas :)
Let me know how I can help!

Oh COME ON IWCAS!!!!!! WE WANT TO MEET YOU!!!!! You can't possibly offend this many lovely women by making us beg, Surely? Ok

PLEASE IWCAS PLEASE?

Siamesecatwoman · 12/11/2010 10:55

:)

Ok then can I moot a MMMM in Birmingham in the new year? January sales, and not just ICWAS but maybe get to meet Smac too?

Do you know what days you'll be working ICWAS?

WookieetheChew · 12/11/2010 15:37

Sounds good Siamese (P.S. I will still answer to BMI).

In other news: only one week to go! If I'm honest, I'm a little nervous about 2 nights alone with Isobel, she's quite hard work atm. But I'm mostly looking forward to it Grin

PacificDogwood · 13/11/2010 14:41

How on earth did you come up with your new name, Wookie? I did not 'suspect' you at all...

Re violent babies: we could just let Isobel and Joe slug it out, couldn't we Wink? At least Isobel could crawl away if it got too much, whereas he can only back away on his tummy (reverse gear is working, forward gear yet to be found Grin).

We will join you all on Saturday as I have decided trying to find the cottage after 10pm on Friday night after a whole days work is just Too Much. So I am going to crash at BIL's house - at least I know how to find to theirs.
So - I would like meet-up with you all maybe for lunch? Would that be at the cottage or is a lunch out planned??

Oh, also, I won't bring the Amby for Joe but could bring it for any of you if you want. I'll just co-sleep with him - it is what I do most nights anyway... HmmBiscuit.

IWCAS, gawn, gawn, you know you want to, pretty please . Accept a lift and do come sans champagne - gives me a headache anyway Smile.

WookieetheChew · 13/11/2010 22:32

Here Pacific. George Lucas meets A.A. Milne :)
