A brand spanking new thread where we can chat about the state of our eggs, SWI, our veg patches and any other topic we fancy

A quick pop on. Gosh it moves fast here.
lOLLI I would be fuming with the centre to be honest. Defo there fault. Do not beet yourself up.
Hiya splishy xxxxxx a blast from the past!
Think my ds2 has turned into a bloody handful overnight. He climbed on the dinning room table to reach the fruit bowl. I saw him but was too late to catch him, he fell off. He put his teeth thru his toungue. He has a hole in it. Blood everywhere, I felt sick. He was howling. I took him to minor injuries as lots of blood. aRGHHHHHH
anyway, they dont stitch tongues and he now has a hole. They say it will heal well on its own. Gross! My poor baby xx
I must go. I bed time for the boys. Back soon xx

CappuccinoCarrie · 25/06/2010 19:37

Oh mama you poor thing, its a friday, have some wine!

I thought the doors and windows of our extension were being put in today. They turned up but the window people got roped into helping put the steels in which is the first job that has put our builders in a bad mood. There was no banter today, and our favourite builder apologised for saying a swear word!! They knocked the corner out of my kitchen, so its knee deep in rubble and there are electric sockets hanging in mid-air where there used to be walls for them to attach to. I came home from a day out with the kids and turned round and went straight back out again as I couldn't possibly have the kids in that house like that. A good friend took pity and fed us all! Tonight's job is packing then we're out of here for 5 weeks. My internet access will be sporadic depending on where we're staying.

hopefully we've got everything crossed for you xx

DastardlyandSmugly · 25/06/2010 20:00

Hopefully fingers crossed here too.

Forgot to mention DS's Father's Day card. He was really excited when daddy opened it and couldn't wait to show him the picture he had drawn of mummy and her massive boobies

Hopefully · 25/06/2010 21:41

Dastardly that's hilarious!

Meglet · 25/06/2010 22:59

bookmarking.....

Am watching Glastonbury with wine .

Hopefully · 26/06/2010 08:35

Urgh, stupid broken ridiculous body.

Still BFN, in case you hadn't guessed. I seriously need to start buying shares in Clearblue, the amount I've spent on tests this month.

Have to go to a BBQ today to commemorate the execution of a guy on death row that DP's sister supported (i.e. tried to get what was a racist conviction overturned - he was executed last month). So it's going to be an uplifting day all round

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 26/06/2010 12:20

Wow Hopefully, that's one hell of a bbq you're going to today. Blimey.

Have you tried the cheap tests off Ebay? They are a fraction of the price.

Did you chart this month? If so does it give you any answers why AF is a no show?

I watched some of Glastonbury last night as well. I would love to go, but the reality is the whole camping and toilet thing puts me right off.

Debs75 · 26/06/2010 22:06

Hopefully get yourself to home bargains or Savers. Pregnancy ttests are about 1.50 there. If you get a + and want to check it out then get a clearblue.

Mama poor ds's tongue. It will heal, dp's did after he had bit through it as a child

Hopefully · 27/06/2010 12:33

AF appeared, finally! Wasn't too traumatised, as the 3 million BFNs really had sunk in.

Have got wanky fertility monitor thingie and thermometer for temping this cycle. Hey, it means I can do spreadsheets

FannyPriceless · 27/06/2010 12:51

hopefully Can I be cross on your behalf? But let's hope for better next month. Spreadsheets are good. And I may have something for you - I have emailed your blog address.

Would you believe that DS and I spent Friday night back in hospital? I got crippling pains and suddenly started bleeding again after having stopped over a week ago. They did tests and kept me in for observation, but the pain was gone within 24 hours so I came home. They think it may have been late unexpected uterine contractions, so I just have to monitor the new bleeding to make sure it doesn't get worse again.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 27/06/2010 13:29

Mama hope your LO is OK. Hoping it sounds worse written down than it actually was! But, whaddya do - they will get into trouble sometimes.

Hopefully sorry for BFN but chin up and relax. It took us a year to conceive C, and that included one month when my period never appeared, giving me awful dliemmas as I just got BFN over and over. Then at +60 days it arrived. No idea why. When we did conceive, it was on xmas day 07 and I must have drank my own body weight in alcochol over the next few days. All that had changed was we stopped being so worried about nothing happening and lived normally. Easy to say but try to relax and not get too worked up.

And has anyone's LO dropped naps completely? C has just gone down but she's been a bugger. She wouldn't go in her cot and DP finally got her off by rocking her pushchair whilst she cried for 20 mins. He's also shouted at me, cos I wanted to get her out as I can't stand to rock her to sleep crying. He was right, she did need to sleep but he then asked how I was going to cope with 2 if I couldn't cope with one. Very unfair comment, so am not heppy

Fanny hope things going OK and you're coping.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 27/06/2010 14:10

On a completely other note:

Q - does anyone's LO have heat rash atm? C is coming out in awful spots and rashes. Took her to docs and he said they are just simple rashes, could be allregies or heat, nothing to worry about and give a small dose of piriton. They don't bother her, just look nasty. Is this normal for toddlers?

Q - Have been scanning previous posts but to no avail, can someone remind me of the book that helps with conception that was discussed recently? Whilst trying to follow my own advice and to relax, this sounded like useful info to have.

Thanks!

FannyPriceless · 27/06/2010 15:40

MrsA It's this book.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 27/06/2010 18:56

What a shitter about the bfn Hopefully. I have sent you an email with something that I hope will help.

MrsA - ds doesn't have a heat rash but I've got prickly heat on my chest - aaarrrggghhh.

Your DP probably made that comment out of exasperation at not getting your dd to sleep. Either ignore it or talk to him about it and explain how much it upset you.

Blimey Fanny, I hope the pain and bleeding have subsided. What a nightmare, I wish you peaceful times!

Oh and also meant to say Hopefully, don't panic if the fertility monitor doesn't show that you are ovulating. I used one as contraception when I fell pg with ds1 , and in the cycle I fell pg with ds2 according to the sticks I didn't ovulate. Go figure!

mamamuffin · 27/06/2010 19:51

Hi folks
Thanks for your kind words. DS2 tongue is healing really well. Thanks. I can still see the hole but its getting smaller.
Sending more pregnancy vibes to those who are trying. I must say I I fell pregnant on day 2 of my cycle. So I would start trying sooner than they recommend.
pony I mean fanny sorry. I hope your feeling ok? You did well to stop bleeding so soon. I think I bled for at least two months solid after my two. Maybe you its still post partum bled rather than a true period. Especially as your BF.
What a glorious weekend. Its been a scarecrow festival in my village. I was in charge of refreshments. Lovely. Must dash. Bed for boys I am running late. xxxx

DebiTheScot · 27/06/2010 20:37

mama there was lots of blood and a hole when ds2 put tooth through his lip too. But by the time I'd googled whether or not he should go to casualty it had stopped bleeding!

MrsA ds2 has also got heat rash, doesn't seem to bother him though.

hopefully Hope you get there soon.

I've discovered strawberries need to be added to my list of fruits I can't eat

FannyPriceless · 27/06/2010 21:55

mama Definitely still a post partum bleed. At one point in hospital someone said "It's certainly not a period" and I nearly died at the thought! It hadn't even occurred to me. Imagine the shame of turning up to hospital with fanjo pains and bleeding, only to be told "You're having a period."

CappuccinoCarrie · 27/06/2010 23:10

Evening all.

I've got our laptop working in the house we're staying in. Gosh its nice to have a functional kitchen, space for the kids to play, a garden...just keep thinking how much is still to be done at our house, but it will be soooooooo worth it.

What are all these secret bits of information everyone is emailing to hopefully? . I'm really for you hopefully with your bfn.

fanny how's life with two, and how's the SPD recovery going? Sorry you had to go back to hospital

Can I ask a waaaaaaaaaaay TMI qu? If you conceive on day 2 of your cycle, does that mean you SWI while on your period....? I won't let DH near me til I'm sure its all over!

Hopefully · 28/06/2010 08:56

Carrie try to contain yourself, but I am now the proud owner of a ready made fertility chart.

Feel slightly more in control of the situation now I have my new fangled thermometer and wee-stick machine thingie (which told me not to wee on a stick this morning. I was quite disappointed). I know that in the grand scheme it probably doesn't improve my chances a milion times, as I;m fairly in touch with my cycle, but it's nice to think I'm doing something.

Hopefully · 28/06/2010 08:59

Oh, and at Fanny. Although v sad for your bleeding and pains, obviously (while still )

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 28/06/2010 10:03

Many thanks for all the helpful advice guys, as always

Nothing much more to share, going to order that book from Amazon thanks FP. If we get lucky, you know I'm going to pick your brains on tips to cope with 2!

Oh and DP in another foul mood today - have realised he is suffering from awful hay fever but like most men "I'm fine, don't fuss!!!!" so am cutting him a bot of slack. Let's face it, he gets my PMT every month.

And Fanny, your comment re periods made me laugh.

Like Carrie i too think conception on day 2 = SWI at the height of a period. Each to their own but I'd not be keen (and think DP would be even less so!)

And for those who remember C has been pinching lately, we have tried the ignore strategy and it seems to be having success. She only pinched once yesterday.

Debs75 · 28/06/2010 11:26

Debi Why can't you eat strawberries? They are almost a staple in our house due to cravings and pure deliciousness. Robyn was calling them 'reds' but can now say strawbry and will go to the fridge and wait for someone to get her one.

All Robyn wants to do is play out in the garden but we have almost no shade out there and it is so hot. Am I being a cruel mummmy to keep her in where it is cool and watcgh Blues Clues with her?

We went to the seaside (Bridlington) on Friday and had a great time. She loved being in the sea and she also had a go on a donkey. Took my friends little girl so we could try out one of the double prams I bought. I really liked pushing 2 so roll on SEPTEMBER

CappuccinoCarrie · 28/06/2010 14:20

Oooh hopefully a chart of your very own to fill in in an OCD fashion? OOOOOHHH! I started temping and charting after 6m ttc #1. I was so surprised that my temp did exactly what it said it would, and the CM was just like the books said. After 3 months of being sure I was ovulating I felt so much more relaxed and was sure it would just be a matter of time, which it was. I'd feel relaxed about it now, but for the endo
Hopefully you have to keep us posted!
debi is the strawberry thing part of the weird fruit allergy we were all talking about? I'm very thankful that I can eat them!

Today's the first day the builders are there without us, I'm itching to know what they're up to. I'm going to see tomorrow while ds naps at a friend's house and dd is at ballet.

DebiTheScot · 28/06/2010 15:56

Yes I seem to be allergic to strawberries too. They're not on the list of fruits I 'should' be allergic to so I'm wondering if I should get allergy tested in case there's more things too.
Am on a bit of a diet at the moment too- discovered I weighed about a stone more than i thought and none of my summer clothes fit- so not being able to eat loads of fruits is a right pain in the neck.
