Partyofseven · 11/05/2010 13:39

ha ha cant are you in some implying that idon't have real life stuff to do, like a mountain of washing, a neglected baby because i'm mn-ing lol

Partyofseven · 11/05/2010 13:42

lol at dad dancing new, me and Erin are dancing to ds crappy dance music, but she thinks its great

CantThinkofFunnyName · 11/05/2010 14:02

More like I'm the one spending far too much time on here Party! I have an easy day today following a manic one yesterday. Looking at a pile of ironing - can't be arsed. Looking at a sleeping baby. Looking at a bored puppy. Been out in garden with him but it's so cold can't be arsed to stay out there too long. And the pain of it all is that I can't take him for a walk with Olivia in the pram yet because he just won't behave. Have tried but he tries to bite the wheels and switches from side to side so we end up in a right tangle.

So it's a day of paperwork, hoovering done, batch load of weaning cooking done yesterday and now I'm about to watch a DVD of Sex in the City before the school run!

Partyofseven · 11/05/2010 16:38

oh the life of a glamorous sahm eh can't

you did actually make me feel a bit guilty so i made a start and got dressed lol, but i have redeemed my self since, tidy girls room bathroom, made tea for girls and friend, made different tea for me dh and ds, and fed baby.

now need to change stinky bum, and pretend i've been very busy all day when dh comes home, i'm very good at looking shattered and huffing and puffing a lot.

sockmonkey · 11/05/2010 17:57

Hello all!
Have a few mins to kill before time to make tea.

Took Naomi for weighing today. 12lb and half an ounce (the half ounce is v important )
She has been a bit whiney today, but hasn't done a poo since yesterday so might be that.
She is doing really well sleeping now. Will go 10-7 most nights. hurrah!
I still feel shattered though. What is that all about?

party good to 'see' you I have wasted half the afternoon talking nonsense over in chat child is now on sofa loudly cooing at me and I am still on MN really can't be arsed to go near the huge piles of stuff to do!

So I'm totally glued to the election stuff! Is Harriet going to be PM overnight? Totally peculiar, was Brown ousted by Mandy? ooooh, and why doesn't Yvette use Ed's surname I wonder..

So DS is either growth spurting or I'm not quite sure, he's been glued to my breasts ALL DAY and also yesterday I just literally ran out of milk, he was furious, I tried everything (in the evening) and so I tried in desperation to give him the bottle.. DS, bottle refusenik, drank THE WHOLE THING I thought it would never happen. I don't want to give it to him often but I am so relieved that he drank it and could drink it- all of it!!! 'Breastflow'- amazing.

Right, so how to increase milk supply.. EAT MORE yes?

Lottie, glad Juliet's fine, awful for you but happens to everyone at some stage of their parenting lives, no matter how careful, I promise.

DS also chewing hands a lot, he's being very strange. He had some aptamil yesterday in the bottle and has produced the most bright green nappies I have ever seen- is that a formula thing?

Fraochsmum · 11/05/2010 18:54

Thanks jardins x

new I too was a little aprehensive the first time, but had a very easy birth comparitively. Made no difference this morning when DH came up the stairs full of the joys - I couldn't sleep much earlier so was too tired to even mouth the words "no chance", let alone lying back and thinking of Scotland! The look said it all

Tuesday is my very busy 'baby day' - weigh-in, then mother and toddler group, bounce and tickle, then a few of us take the bubs swimming. Phew! sickofbloodybabiesnow We are just about to go down the street and support the 'MacMillan Mile' in aid of cancer research then my dad is coming over for the rest of the night.

How is the new puppy ctofn? Mine just got a shouting down for play fighting and nearly hitting the wee one. I would like to try one of those dance dvds, but would need to lock them out first! I did actually go to the gym last week (can't remember if I said already) and ended up on my own at one point - perfect opportunity to see if I could still jog after 2 years of not doing it! I amazed myself by going for 5 solid minutes! Mind you it was made much harder by the fact that I now am much heavier about the chest now, the only thing I miss about having wee boobs in fact! Plus, DH jokingly said about getting saggy boobs yesterday, and before it wasn't something I had to think about Oh well, still love them more like this!

Partyofseven · 11/05/2010 21:35

hi all, 3dds in bed , dh in bed, ds out and babee fast asleep on beanbag, quietness has resumed.

Thanks crumpette nice to see you too. i have been lurking around on relationships and aibu all day, and was chatting to some mnetters on the jan2011 ante natal club (just in case }, what have you been on in chat? what lives we lead. this is why i can't come on often because my whole day is then wasted, i had an excuse of not being able to move when i had erin in my bump, but because she literally eats and then is unfussy, will sleep or just amuse herself i can't explain away my day to dh (not that hes bothered but still lazy cow)

at lottie not employing my fake shattered tatics indeed, doth protest to much, although i do feel you can be forgiven cos you have to babys to look after, (but only a tiny bit, the twins excuse is wearing pretty thin i can tell you , at least they are at the same stage, i find it hard to entertain all dcs cos of their different ages, but if eve and juliet are anything like erin, when she decides its feed time its now RIGHT NOW!!!!! or she does get herslef really upset in the time it takes me to make a bottle.

lol @ fraoch morning refusal of jiggy, morning is sometimes the only time me and dh have 5 mins peace so have to get it while its going

sock half an ounce is vvvvv, important, great about the sleeping, erin has always sleep at least 6 hours a night from being born and now we're up to at least 10hrs and i still feel shattered some days,so i've no idea what thats about

Fraochsmum · 11/05/2010 21:55

Hahahaha! Really couldn't open my eyes this morning, but said other half has now got back in from the fire station so may be het up again!
jan2011??? Gaun yersel!!! Woohoo xxx

whensmydayoff · 11/05/2010 22:45

Wow party, Im so impressed. 17-4 months. Id pay to have your lack of worry.

Ive spent my day googling and i am indeed going to die.
Im going to aquire other auto immune diseases if I havent already got one and if they don't get me first im going to have a massive heart attack.

DH has threatend to take the mouse and keyboard to work tomorrow so I might not be on here - incase you think I have actually died!

whensmydayoff · 11/05/2010 22:46

I meant lack of worrying type nature.

Partyofseven · 11/05/2010 23:22

when you are soooo funny, please stop goggling stuff, i think your dh should take said keyboard and smack you upside the head with it please try to hang on for a little while longer.

worrying gives you lines and i look haggered enough as it is.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 12/05/2010 08:21

Fraochs - did you have yours from puppies? Tbh it's really dragging me down a bit. Good days and bad and all that. Yesterday late afternoon/evening was BAD. I know that everything he does is normal puppy behaviour: play biting, barking, growling etc but it is soooo hard to deal with. All the "positive reinforcement" stuff just doesn't seem to work. In fact, if he thinks I've got treats, apart from sitting for about 5 seconds, he then starts jumping up and barking for them. If I ignore him, he tries to nip at whatever he can get his teeth onto quickly. Last night, it was my foot in a slipper and it really bloody hurt. So I more than yelped, which is apparently what you're supposed to do, but then he latches on again really quickly. Kids are now getting scared of him which is even more to contend with. Our trainer said to try with a Jif lemon filled with water to use as a deterrent, but he mustn't see where it comes from, but then so many other people/ADPT etc say NEVER to use this method. Quite frankly at wits end as those puppy teeth really hurt and he will not let go of something once he's got it, clothes included.

Olivia has been sleeping really well (can't say through the night exactly) since we started weaning, so last night I thought I was safe to have a couple of glasses of wine whilst glued to the TV and DH away for a few days.

Of course, she woke early for her dream feed and then screamed every 3 hours for a feed through the night . Am now more tired than a tired thing that's tired. Not a good combination for needing to be "with it" for said puppy.

whensmydayoff · 12/05/2010 08:37

That sounds horrendous ctfn.
Can you not take him to someone? I know your doing classes or something but I mean a bit more one to one.

Ive done the wine thing and the vary same has happened. They bloody know don't they.

FakePlasticTrees · 12/05/2010 08:55

hello! Just thought I'd sign in as haven't been on here again for ages.

Not much to add, the mini monster is now at 15lb 3oz, so we've more than doubled birth weight. I've replaced 2 of the breast feeds in the day with formula, and although I'm feeling better for it, my weight's gone back up . Trying to read up on weaning, I sort of ignored that bit of the baby books when pregnant as it was 'ages away' and I had a bit of a shock that one of the woman at baby club has weaned her DS who's only a week older than mine... Might stick to 6 months out of sheer laziness...

feeling a bit for those of you who have a sleeping thorugh the night baby.

Partyofseven · 12/05/2010 09:01

Morning all

I have decided that I should maybe discontinue with my mn membership, I am not on for ages and then when I am I end up on it all day, and have got myself in to a spat about baby names. Someone said Erin's name was hideous, fucking hideous, cheeky gets. So I merely point out that I thought hideous was a bit strong, when the thread was about names you don't like, and people have started using words like vile, disgusting, pretenious. Mnetter who posted it hasn't replyed but someone else has saying shes entitled to her opinion and all that. grrrrrrrrrr, I can feel it going to be another day of getting nowt done.

cant am with you all they way with percy, we got a border collie, great with kids, play for hours etc, but no matter what training or amount of exercise she got, it was never enough, she started becoming quite dominant with dd2, so had to rehome her. My children where only little then though and I felt family and dog just didn't fit together. The fact that dd3 was scared and dog knew it so would follow her everywhere.
hope you manage to get through the early days.

I had a drink saturday and Erin (hideous Name lol) who sleeps all night woke up screaming and interupted my party, had to go to bed with her.

Morning when I see dh didn't confiscate you keyboard then.

crumpette · 12/05/2010 09:59

WMDO you will not die, you will not acquire any other autoimmune disease. OK? Good Stop googling!

party Erin is a beeeautiful name, it's easy to say just ignore them but way harder in practice when it's unnecessarily nasty. I really like the name btw it was on my list for DD, it's pretty unusual and elfin-like. I was wasting time yesterday just some rubbish about aliens and marilyn monroe It is sad isn't it, it's 9.55am on a sunny day and I am here showered and dressed and.. on MN !

No jiggyness in casa crumpette, try as DP might THERE IS NO WAY I am allowing any risk of more babies just yet

helloo fakeplastictrees!

CTFN Percy sounds like a bit of a nightmare! It's just a phase, right? I could never have the patience to deal with babies and puppies simultaneously. I have no experience of the puppy variety so I cannot offer any advice, is there a puppy section on MN? I guess if things were really desperate you could take to a trainer for more intensive stuff?

Partyofseven · 12/05/2010 10:07

Hey crumpette I have promised myself that i will go for a walk today, and if you think your sad, at least your dressed, I'm sat here like a scruffy hobbit drinking coffee in my pjs and reading about other peoples misery in relationships . Thanks about the name, I haven't dared tell them I also have a Casey Jones as well

to fakeplastictrees

sockmonkey · 12/05/2010 11:46

Party - Erin is a great name. Very classy... you can imagine an Erin as a diplomat travelling the world and sorting out international relations (well, we'll give her a few years first). Don't listen to the numpties on names.

CTFN - Hope doggy behaves today. Sounds like you could do with a break.

Right off to ice my birthday cake. Mmmm cake.

Fraochsmum · 12/05/2010 11:55

ctofn poor you! I really appreciate how hard it can be, hence asking. I got Fraoch at 6 weeks and Sonas at 9 weeks old (labradors), so have been through the whole puppy thang, althought they were very different pups. I feel we got Fraoch too early, we mated the pair of them last year and didn't give any of the pups away (9 of them) till at least 9 weeks. He did have the bitey thing a bit but really was very good and trained easily. Sonas chewed everything in sight tho - one time I found something on the ground and realised it was my synthetic saddle, or what remained of it, she ate the lot and just left the hard trunk and the staples. I will say they were a good 2/3 before they weren't puppies any more. I have found that the best ways are the ones that assume your dominance as 'alpha male' if you like, such as never letting them through the door before you, getting your kids to put his feed bowl down etc. I hope you get on well, oh and there are dedicated sites to visit for advice about your particular breed (sorry I can't remember what Percy is, spaniel?) as some have quite common traits. Exercise is also a huge aspect. That said, I was thinking of breeding Sonas again in he next season, there's a beautiful chocolate lab round the corner that I've got my eye on on her behalf...
party I'm sorry you were upset about Erins lovely name, unfortunately there are some quite insensitive people on here who frankly don't give a damn
Hello again fake! OMG over 15lb already! I met the boy who was born on the same day as Cara in the town and he is over 16lbs...Cara isn't even 12 yet...oh well I'm getting plenty of wear out of her clothes

Fraochsmum · 12/05/2010 11:56

Happy birthday sock xxx

CantThinkofFunnyName · 12/05/2010 12:59

Fraochs - thanks a lot. Yes, the vet talked a lot about the alpha male thing and that Percy is trying to be Alpha Wolf! Others of course poo poo the whole idea of dominance. Such a minefield to know what to follow. The MN Pets thread here were really scathing about the vet and said that talk of dominance is really outdated .

Anyway, Percy is a Labradoodle. His mother a black lab, father golden standard poodle. He's got the Poodle intelligence for sure and should theoretically be easy to train, however, trainer did say that this breed is one of the "mouthiest and nippiest" as puppies .

So we had a 1-2-1 2 days after we got him and start training classes next Monday. In the meantime, I've been doing lots of clicker training with treats although after squirting him with a tinse of water this morning when he decided to eat my jeans/leg again, I'm favouring that as he stopped immediately and started licking the water on the floor!

And yes, everyone else, am feeling rather low these past days and could definitely do with a break. Feel like I'm having no quality time at all with Olivia which is what I was really looking forward to.

Dreading w/c 24 May as DS goes to Isle of Wight for a school trip for the week leaving me and DD (7) to cope with Percy. DH happens to be away on a golfing trip that week too. Walks with the buggy are going to be a nightmare .

whensmydayoff · 12/05/2010 13:24

party You know, thats why I hang arounf mainly on this site. There are some real bitches out there!

I loved Erin but my DS is Evan. Tried to pretend it was ok but realised is wasn't! Its a classy name and what did that fanny call hers? Luckily we all like different names (apart from me and CTFN ).

I had a few arguments too. One was when I kept reading posts from really fed up SAHM's. There seemed to be about 3 or 4 posts on the go with really fed up, lonely SAHM's so in a bid to cheer them up I did a thread called 'reasons to be cheerful SAHM's).

Well, the backlash was unbelievable. One idiot said "I couldn't think of anything worse than sitting around all day with a bunch of mums talking about nappies, id rather be at work with trained minds"

So I said " so why are you sitting on MN on a Friday night talking to a bunch of mums you fanny".

Im sticking to here where it's safe!

ctfn luckily dogs grow up much faster than babies. He will be all sensible and slipper fetching before you know it - hopefully!
