exactly loti, keep your pyjamas on, stick on a dvd or music and have a chilled day at home. I'm sure you've got loads of ideas to entertain them but...DS loves 'camping'...build him a den, put a few books in it with his teddy and that's him happy for quite a while

hope both DDs are feeling better soon

woah, Pea's doing somersaults at the moment!

TS I can see why you're upset. Would you see them v often? Is kenzie short for a longer name?

VG calm and organised? nope, sorry, think you've got the wrong hormonal bride there!

oopsandbabycoconut · 29/03/2010 08:07

Morning

LOTI - you have my sympathies - duvets, hot drinks and plenty of telly/books and general quietness prescribed.

Miamla - thosed somersaultss are such a great feeling - they were the one thing I really missed about not being PG when DD was born.

DD slept until 6.35 then snuggled until 7.20 which was lovely she then bounced loudly on DH and farted on his head, which she found very funny I used my best judgement and brought her downstairs at that point.

TS - the only Kenzie's Ihave ever met are boys, is she going to be Mckenzie shortened to Kenzie?

Miamla · 29/03/2010 08:22

DS slept til gone 7..it would seem he's still on winter time! no complaints from me THat's a v long snuggle you had there! we're lucky if we get 5secs! It would seem mummy and daddy's bed = fun for DS!

Pleased you got a bit of a lie in at least. DP was only saying this morning that he hadn't been woken by DS sitting on his head in ages. I think he's secretly missing it so i'll have to arrange something for tomorrow morning

keep meaning to share... DS used to call me 'mam-mam' which i thought was so sweet. I'm now affectionately known as 'MA!' (and yes, it is shouted, loudly, even if I'm right next to him!)

GladioliBuckets · 29/03/2010 09:42

LOL like Nick Cotton "Ello Ma".

oopsandbabycoconut · 29/03/2010 10:09

Do I want to ask.................who is Nick Cotton???

DD seems to have infected me with her cold - how do you go from fine at 8am to grotty by 10???

luckoftheirish · 29/03/2010 10:14

thanks as always ladies.. dd1 really not well .. she has been playing silly buggars with me the last few weeks on the not feeling well issue but today definitely out of sorts with a nasty temp so is curled up on sofa watching a dvd..

dd2 is currently trying on an assortment of hats whilst barking ..

dh went out to shops and got some provisions and then went to work.. no offer to help out tho ..

downstairs loo not working, put the wash on and proceed to flood the downstairs loo .. going to throw a blanket over my head and hide ..

ts sorry about the name, i wouldn't be to happy if some one in the family chose a name similar to my dds.. do they have their hearts set on it or could you come up with some alternatives??

glad you had good nights miamla/oops

watcha buckets/greeny xxx

dizzydixies · 29/03/2010 10:17

LOTI, seems like your chat didn't work. VG's suggestion is a good one, give that a whirl and fingers crossed.

TS, am sorry I don't get the whole name thing. Its not the same as your K's name and whilst I admit it is similar they're not close in age so won't be in the same class etc. DD2 has a name VERY similar to my cousin's DD and whilst its not their name to own I did agonise over it for a while however, we struggled to find a name we loved for DD2 (much in the same way you struggled finding R's name) and it was the only one that truely 'fitted' DD2. Maybe they've possibly been through the same process? My dcousin's daughter was rather chuffed to think that baby had a similar name to her and there is no problem when we are all together as a family. And the K that they have chosen isn't as nice as your K's name so you can be silently smug within that knowledge as well as remembering that imitation is one of the highest forms of flattery

Miamla - I agree that considering you are pregnant and had such a short time to organise it all you are doing brilliantly

morning Oops

have had a crap sleep and my cold is worse again today DD2 at playgroup and D down for a nap so I have to admit to eating frosties and watching candleford whilst the cleaning/washing/ironing go ignored

oopsandbabycoconut · 29/03/2010 10:24

Dizzy - frosties are empty calories - you need proper food to get better!

dizzydixies · 29/03/2010 10:27
Miamla · 29/03/2010 11:11

but frosties taste soooo good though! oh and dizz, i can't see any washing/cleaning or anything that needs to be done

i'm 'working from home' this morning, can you tell?
i have actually done a fair bit but figured a break was called for!

thanks for wedding praise but can we save it til after saturday? still not convinced its all going to go to plan!!

back to the millstone!

dizzydixies · 29/03/2010 11:17

off you pop Miamla

Miamla · 29/03/2010 11:33
GladioliBuckets · 29/03/2010 12:11

OMG I couldn't have Frosties in the house, they're like crisps and Coke - me and DH would just scoff the lot in one night.

TS I think you can bask in the glory of them clearly being unoriginal nobs and take the compliment. DH's cousin has a Noah, Isla and Kira which is spookily similar to ours (though we were expecting Kate for the last one) but we just laugh (were annoyed at first).

Oops LOL she will kill me! 'Nasty Nick' Cotton was a baddie in Eastenders on and off since the start. That was his catchphrase, followed by a shot of his ma going white and dropping a teacup, classic 'doofdoof' ending.

Afternoon

Frosties are fab and I love them instead of crisps but NOT for sick Dizzy's who need to get better!

Been to MW who can't tell whether baby is head down or up - apparently there is a lump at the top and one at the bottom but she can't tell which is which. She found the HB very low down so I suggested that she is head down but no apparently not She also measured bump and it hasn't grown in 4 weeks last time it was 5 weeks big now only 1 week bigger so she panicked about no growth and scanning - I have agrowth scan in 2 weeks anyway so am not worried. I love to watch her panic though [meanie emoticon]

DD sleeping, I'm watching crap on the telly waiting for DH to come and get his lunch.

GladioliBuckets · 29/03/2010 13:44

Tape measuring bumps is farcically unreliable so you are right not to worry.

Did a big food shop with Kurt this morning, need to sit down and mealplan (better late than never.)

luckoftheirish · 29/03/2010 15:02

completely agree buckets... i measured small the whole way through with dd2.. many scans later and massive tantrums with mw.. dd2 was perfect!

alittlebitshy · 29/03/2010 15:45

if you haven't sorted it yet from my (unimportant) pov if oops and dd came for meal i would a) not be lonesome and b) have my lift back home chez oops. but i also love pert so am not trying to shove her out as she has met miamla several time irl iyswim

had dd off today but carried on with my planned bluewater trip . she is deffo under the weather and i am glad i didn;t send her in as we had several emergency poo stops which were, eventually, productive (tmi)

Miamla · 29/03/2010 16:06

lol buckets, forgot to be cross with you about your nick cotton comment! but yes, he does sound exactly like him! i'm hoping i'm not too similar to ol' Dot though

well, i've just spent many £s and 3.5hrs in the hairdressers but i'm really rather pleased with it! hairdresser was lovely, colourist was lovely and they all asked me to pop back with wedding photos! i didn't feel at all out of place and i was made very welcome. just shows you that a scary looking hairdressers need not actually be scary at all!

back at mum's now and i'm meant to be doing my dress but DS is sleeping in my sewing room so looks like i'll just have to sit here with a cup of tea for a few minutes...shame!

oops 50% of mws said i was measuring too big with DS, and yup, the other half thought i was too small. ignore ignore ignore!

sazz thank you, you've got lovely soft hands

hi albs

Miamla · 29/03/2010 17:44

oh and forgot to say.... I have spoken to the florist and asked her for mil's buttonhole to be a wrist thing. Florist's reply was "are you sure? its going to look ridiculous!" I said, what the mil wants, the mil gets

so am i still the better person?!! i doubt it but hey, i've done as she asked!

GladioliBuckets · 29/03/2010 19:58

Ooh can't wait to see the Miamla show. Getting v excited.

I got soaked on the shcoolrun today but it has given me some lovely waves - have finally achieved the long romantic hair I've dreamed of since Aug08. Perhaps I should move to Seattle, what is it 9/12months it rains?

pertelote · 29/03/2010 20:25

Yes I think so Buckets! Is meant to be lovely though, have friends there who love it. You don't need rain to look fabulous though

ALBS that is a very good point and I hereby relinquish my seat and call on Oops to represent me (and eat two meals )

Miamla your hair also fabulous, what I can see of it with you all the way up there on the moral high ground . Additional advantage, we will all know which one your MiL is to snigger at.

Much sympathy to those under the weather and dealing with DCs ditto. Hope the Easter hols will give you a chance to rest and recover.

dizzydixies · 29/03/2010 20:37

just back from the theatre with the girls, was (again) a brilliant show - we're so lucky to have such a great theatre group nearby

DD2 was hysterical and loved the interaction, I though she might announce she wished to be an actress after wards however she is still intent on being a dinosaur when she grows up

TwilightSurfer · 29/03/2010 21:58

Miamla you look absolutely BEAUTIFUL! And your presence is superior. If you're holding it together with paper and paste, you're doing a DAMN GOOD JOB.

Oops can you tell the head from the butt when you feel your belly? I do agree MWs (and doctors) tend to not have a clue sometimes.

I do thank you all for the advice regarding the cousin's baby's name. We do see them no less than once a year and considered it slightly a compliment. However, even DH was like what? When all the children are playing (as they do at the big family gatherings) it will be very hard to tell the difference between lee and zee. Plus very confusing for the elders who have hearing problems. But as I said, there's nothing I can do except find a way to drown my feelings deep.

Like Sazzles I'm upside down in laundry without an end in sight. I will go for now.
