Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Miamla · 26/03/2010 13:05

sazz, trust me, if you're wearing more than a summery dress and i'm cold, i'll be stealing additional layers from you

hots coffee=am, tea=pm so i reckon go for tea

dizzydixies · 26/03/2010 13:24

Hots - sod off home, nobody should be in work on a day like today frankly

miamla - in the last week before our wedding loads of things started to go wrong, I decided the only important thing was that DH, DD1 and I were there and sod the rest of it - it was a great day

TS - having spoken to physio again today I have a few more things to try, tbh without a cash injection from tonights Euro millions we can't afford anything extra

Sazz, no, if pregnancy is a viable one then no MRI for me - they only do it under extreme circumstances on pregnant woman - idiot GP described this to me as suspicion of nasty tumour [fecking eejit emoticon] I'm rather cheered at the thought of you being Poppy's new assistant though as you would have to move up here to save the commute

Poppy - meant to say I've never heard of anyone getting a Chicken Pox vaccine up here, is M bad enough to consider needing it for DD2? Much excitement here as Cairnie opening next week

lwfhthebagpipeplayer · 26/03/2010 13:39

yes, pox vaccine here too (notice it is only the foreigners!) I think that it cost us about 40 pounds, but some may have been covered by the insurance.

oopsandbabycoconut · 26/03/2010 13:40

Afternoon all

Dizzy - you may be symptomless due to boyishness Will be keeping everything crossed from now until the scan. Some doctors are just plain stupid!

Poppy - I know that the CP vaccination is given as routine in the US - we had friends wo moved there from here had their DD couldn't start school until she had had the jab or had written proof from their GP she had had it. A private clinic near us offer them at a HUGE price.

Miamla - can we do anything to ease the pressure of the next week - train DP to say his lines??

Singapore - travel safe and DS will be an absolute charmer on the plane.

Hots - tea is what you want with a large slice of chocolate cake plate of nice carrot sticks and hummus.

Miamla · 26/03/2010 13:46

you're already doing enough oops but thank you

as for DP's lines... my pelvic floor was severely tested last night

oooooh i want cake. actually, i don't want it, i NEED it!!!!

dizz agree re boyishness/no symptoms. sorry, know you've said but when's your scan?

poppysocks · 26/03/2010 13:52

So sorry you're not positive about the pregnancy dizzy. Is it Tuesday that you have your scan? Let us know the right time and I'm sure you'll be inundated by good vibes .

Ooh how exciting miamla. When's your scan? Am guessing you have other things to think about first.... Are you getting any sort of honeymoon? And if so, with or without DS? We took DD1 with us on ours (she was much younger though) and it was not a great move. Think my D&V bug was more problematic though.

Haven't managed to get the tea tree cream dizzy sadly as don't feel I should take DD1 into a shop. She is refusing to allow anyone to touch her though so even calomine is out . Not sure whether this is a bad case, compared to others, but she is obviously feeling SO rough, aside from the spots. Poor DD2 keeps getting it in the neck for trying to give her big sis a big hug as well . Don't know anything about the vaccination as I haven't heard of anyone here opting for it either dizzy, but thought I'd have a look...

poppysocks · 26/03/2010 13:55

Sorry hots, forgot to say how pleased I am that the funeral helped. My Grandpa's funeral was absolutely lovely - they can be can't they. His was great as we all knew that if he could see all his family there together, enjoying one another's company (which we were), that would make him happier than anything. Emotionally draining though, so I add another vote to the 'go home' camp. (After a cup of tea though ).

Miamla · 26/03/2010 14:00

erm, not sure when scan is twenty something of april..i think!

i got really upset the other night...pil have taken week off after wedding to look after ds while we go away. i don't want to leave him for a week anyway but certainly not with pil. so if we do anything, we'll be doing it as a family

your poor dd1, would a bath help her? i need to pop out this afternoon, would you like me to post some tea tree cream to you?

dizzydixies · 26/03/2010 14:13

there you go Hots, even Sazz's new boss says you can skip off early

ah no Poppy, wee soul, usually once the spots are out the worst is over in terms of feeling ill, I have an open Day at DD's school (which started at 2pm oops ) but if you want I could scoot over with some for you? just send me a text if you want me to

sorry for sounding rather pessamistic re the scan, its hard to explain. with my first pregnancy I had no symptoms other than a few migraines and when DH and I were waiting at the hosp concourse to go through for the scan I told him I knew something wasn't right so he didn't get a shock. with DD1 I had instant sore boobs (couldn't even bare the shower on them) and violent MS. with DD2, boobs again and chronic indigestion, only sick twice. DD3, sore boobs and a mix of sick/indigestion. This time, my boobs are fine - all I have is exhustion and occassional indigestion which I know are both signs HOWEVER I also have the same feeling that something just isn't right.

DH and I are terribly pragmatic about it this time which probably makes us very bad people but this time round there isn't just us and our future hopes and dreams to consider as there was with the first pregnancy. We have been blessed with 3 gorgeous, funny, independent girls and life will go on with either a welcome addition or as it is - I hope this makes some sense somehow.

right very late now so going to grab remaining girls and DH and go and terrorise the classroom

dizzydixies · 26/03/2010 14:14

oh and before I go, slight disclaimer - the pragmatism will not stop me from being distraught on Tues if I'm proved correct

TwilightSurfer · 26/03/2010 14:27

Dizzy you make perfect sense. (((hug)))

OP posts:
oopsandbabycoconut · 26/03/2010 14:31

Dizzy - I know exactly how you feel - this little bean was not someone I had thought would make it through until I saw her on the scan properly at 10 weeks, then I still had my doubts! I know it wouldn't have made
it any better had something gone wrong but I knew if DH and I didn't expect anything then we wouldn't be too shocked on the day. We will be here for you regardless of what happens - hopefully to celebrate your new family member but also to help you through if it is not to be.

poppysocks · 26/03/2010 16:09

Thank you for your offers miamla and dizzy. She does seem a bit perkier now than she was this morning after a good sleep at lunchtime. DD2 doing my head in now as we've been stuck indoors all day thanks to the rain. She's super whiney and desperately tired so maybe probably just as DD1 starts to improve it'll be DD2's turn.

On this occasion, I hope you don't know your body as well as the Clearblue stick dizzy.

Oh and LOL sazz.

GladioliBuckets · 26/03/2010 20:45

Heh heh heh, this hen night I'm going to is getting more and more fun. I have warned the other ladies they will feel v underdressed unless fully glammed up, cocktail dress at least if not into corsetry (a local friend is insisting on styling me for the night!). I have also told them they have to come up with their own burlesque name (mine being Lily Lambrusco). The organiser is now ordering us all fascinators instead of masks!

TwilightSurfer · 26/03/2010 21:44

wish i could join you on that very fun sounding hen night. i'd totally jazz up for the evening!!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 26/03/2010 21:57

DH and I are having a battle of words on FB - he beat my highscore on some word game and I'm NOT best pleased, of course I'm much more superior in all things however my knowledge of swear words etc is vastly greater

are you all out having a fri night life or summit

Miamla · 26/03/2010 22:26

hi all
no, no friday night life happening here... been doing table plans, image for wedding favours blah blah blah
actually, had lots of fun doing it

come on dizz, you can't let him beat you!

buckets now that sounds like my kind of evening My only dilemma would be what corset to wear... orange with feathers, fushia pink, chicken wire.... hmm, i'd best stop there

Miamla · 26/03/2010 22:28

ooh and DP just felt Pea hiccuping

off to bed now though, night all

GladioliBuckets · 26/03/2010 23:16

LOL chicken wire and papier mache art installation corset. With spraypainted Banksy stencil. And coffee mug stain on one boob. Someone call Saatchi.

Have just suggested the idea of a steampunk burlesque act to my friend to the tune of Wickiwickiwildwildwest (I would do it but do you know how much brass goggles cost?) Have been swooning all night at the thought of a stripey Victorian corset and leather strappy boots with rivets. And antique brass rayguns.

luckoftheirish · 27/03/2010 06:26

morning.. massive yawn..

Miamla · 27/03/2010 07:01

buckets oi you cheeky mare! my chicken wire corset is amazing! i wore it to TG and got asked by loads where i'd bought it!

Miamla · 27/03/2010 07:02

oh and good morning to all!

hotterpotter · 27/03/2010 08:18

Morning to you all too

For once DD didn't wake up at 6am, hurrah! Unfortunately DS did, and then proceeded to pull his clothes rail into hi cot so there was no possibility of resettling him... and tomorrow clocks definitely do go forward so my proper lie in will be spoiled too, oh well it's a beautiful day so mucho fresh air and gardening on the menu for today.

TwilightSurfer · 27/03/2010 11:33

morning

i went to bed a 6pm slept till 8:30pm got the girls to bed with a little help from dh. crawled back in bed for an hour of fbing. fell asleep around 9:30pm then woke at 7am. i'm not sure my body realizes yet what has happened over the last 13 hours. sorry to those that weren't as lucky.

going to chiropractor then to return a few items purchased stupidly last tuesday.

miamla reese hiccuped daily my entire pregnancy. very cute. do you like tallulah for a baby name? struck me just now as being cute with t's name.
