sirb glad you both had a good night out will have a look on youtube for a click! Still obsessed with an thing pregnancy related!Your DP is very lucky to have you to support him- big hugs to you all!

Anyone else still not got their periods back ( don't get me wrong i'm not complaining!!!) When do they normally return? Not looking forward to that arrival! Think I will be a bit upset as that will mean my pregnancy will be defiantly over think i'm a bit mad!!

scarlotti Glad Ioan enjoyed his chip!! I don't see why they shouldn't have chips as long as its not everyday!
I hope to get a clear sign like that from Pearl-"hello i want to eat now!". It is so difficult to know when to start weaning with so much conflicting advice. Pls take lots of pics of him muching on finger food for facebook!

tokloved your video miss chatterbox on facebook - extra cute!

scarlotti · 05/04/2010 22:13

SirBoob naughty grandma ... but take heart as they're all the same

misssese he's been practicing his chewing on his tongue for weeks now and also guiding his hands or anything else to his mouth so I thought it wouldn't be long.

If I can upload photos from my phone to facebook I'll put them up there!

SirBoobAlot · 05/04/2010 22:16

Scarlotti I know - bless them It was more the fact I wanted to give him his first things myself He will probably be my only child (certainly will be if DP and I stay together) and I don't want to miss anything. Ah well. Did it the second time and there will be plenty of other first, I'm sure

Morning! I hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend. I had a lovely time actually and I've just woken up this morning feeling all excited! I'm not quite sure why! (well it is my birthday tomorrow - 29! - but DH is still bogged down in 'year end' so we celebrated at the weekend instead)

I went to see Kick-Ass at the weekend, which was really fun. I quite fancy two of the teenage boys in it ... Yum.

I also got two nights of unbroken sleep! Yay. Not last night sadly, but I'm feeling much livelier anyway.

Helips Great news about Singapore! When do you go? I would love to travel and see the world a bit more and I think it's a great thing to 'give' your children too.

Scarlotti How did the halterneck dress work out with feeding? Did you wear a halterneck nursing bra?

SirBoob does DP not want any more kids then? It's early days to decide that though.

Claire I love the dresses, I'm so excited for you! I really liked the colour of the bridesmaid dress that came up (indigo?).

Ursi and Skorpion I hope you had fun introducing your girls to Easter traditions. I love traditions, so much more so now that I have children. For each big occasion I've been following on from family traditions but trying to add something of my own too.

scarlotti · 06/04/2010 09:15

Laugs I didn't know such bra's existed! I didn't wear a bra as the dress is slightly boned. Took a wrap but as we were staying I just went back to the room to feed and undid the top of my dress.

SirBoob agree with Laugs in that it's too early to decide about more dc's. Who knows what the future will bring, I certainly didn't think I'd be doing it all again 11 years after the first time!

Question for you all - Ioan is waking once in the night for a feed, anywhere around 4am but not crying hugely, and taking a fair amount. But, he then takes practically nothing at the 7am feed and will then take no more until his 10am feed. Do you think I should be trying to stretch him at night now?

Also, any ideas for how to block out the sunlight from my room? Waking at 6am with the dawn is not fun, and as he's up in the night still I don't really want to be walking to a different room at 4am as am lazy Guess if I crack the early morning feed then that solves the problem...

Fruitpastels · 06/04/2010 09:52

Morning ladies, Not much time to read or post. Have a sick husband with man flu and I'm not sleeping because C is waking me every couple of hours. I've just put him on his play gym and he rolled!! I missed it though and looked over to see him smiling at me whilst on his front! I will catch up with you all when my household are sleeping

VenusInfers · 06/04/2010 11:12

Hello All.

Just dropping in as I have loads of catching up of all your news before I can do a 'proper' post. Have got behind due to lovely visitors last weekend followed by James having a bad return/increase in his silent reflux which has made him a bit miserable and ruined his nights, and hence my sleep for the last week. He's sort of a bit better now, but waking every two hours at night and not settling himself anymore. So, y'know, fun all round .

Anyway, will catch up today and find out what you've all been up to!

helips · 06/04/2010 12:42

Hi all,

We will probably move out to Singapore in July, dh's contract is for 2 years and I've told him I want to keep our house here and rent to friends or family rather than sell, that way we have somewhere to stay when we visit home!

I think I'm getting Mastitis Boob feels very tender and last night I felt all achey and hot then cold. I went to bed early last night and feel a bit better today but will keep an eye on it and if it gets any worse will head to the doctors for some anti b's.

venus poor james, hope he feels better and lets you get more sleep soon.

scarlotti lol re the chip! I'm going to start weaning Millie soon, have ordered my baby led weaning book and will go from there, am quite excited but am sure that will wear off. Weaning ds was nightmare and a very messy business! Re blocking out sunlight, have you got black out blinds? We have them but I find that some light peeps in through the sides so blue tack the sides down which seems to help a lot.

laugs happy birthday for tomorrow, hope you get some nice treats!

misssese I still haven't got my periods back but am still bf so think thats normal. With ds they didn't return until he was 10 months old so am hoping for the same this time, am certainly not missing them!

sirboob naughty grandma giving your ds chocolate without asking, I would have gone mad! Agree with others about you having another dc, you've plenty of time and never say never!

raggie · 06/04/2010 13:58

Hello

welcome back helips - sounds like a really exciting trip! So sorry to hear you think you might be getting mastitis. Hope you're feeling better soon.

scarlotti - we have used some black card to block out the sunlight in Rosa's room, rather than fork out for an expensive blind, was v cheap from local stationery shop. Just put it up before last feed in there in the evening. Works a treat! Although she does still wake up at about 6/half past, think it's rather because she's HUNGRY than woken by any light.

Ah, sorry to hear about the man flu fruit...

Claire - LOVE your dress, tis very beautiful. How exciting!

misssese - thought periods were returning here but has come to nothing really. I read that a bit of spotting like that can be expected before they return completely. Hope I've still got a while to wait! My pill used to stop mine completely, such bliss not to have to worry about it or PMT! But for that reason I'm going to wait until they come back before taking the pill again just so I know they're back IYSWIM?

raggie · 06/04/2010 13:59

By the way, has anyone else's forum gone completely bold?

BeckyBendyLegs · 06/04/2010 14:41

Hello! Just want to see if it comes out bold!

BeckyBendyLegs · 06/04/2010 14:41

There's a missing tag somewhere (html).

BeckyBendyLegs · 06/04/2010 14:43

Anyway, hope everyone is well. My periods have returned and I have raging PMT worse than ever before.

I won £50-worth of fitted carpet this moring in a raffle. Woohoo!

BeckyBendyLegs · 06/04/2010 15:40

Ah, they've fixed it. The rest of you will think we've gone bonkers talking about bold. It was all bold, really!

VenusInfers · 06/04/2010 16:36

Of course it was BBL we believe you, thousands wouldn't.

scarlotti · 06/04/2010 17:05

Mine was bold earlier too!

raggie I might buy some black card or paper rather than blinds as it doesn't bother me so won't need it when he moves to his own room. Am not ready for that yet

He tried a breadstick today at a friends, less impressed than the chip Broccoli for tea soon though so that will be interesting!

helips · 06/04/2010 18:48

bbl I had bold type here too, very strange! Well done on your raffle prize!

Claire I am still trying to catch up on the posts from last week and haven't seen your dress, can't wait to see it, when's the wedding?

My boob is still sore and has a faint red mark on it. I'm drinking lots of water and taking Neurofen and feeding Millie from that side as much as poss. I'm really hoping it will go on it's own...

SirBoobAlot · 06/04/2010 19:42

More Children - tbh, DP didn't really want children ever. Of course he is delighted Bryn is here now, but has already said he doesn't ever want more. We'll see. I would like another one (or two, even...) quite a long way in the future, if for no other reason that my dad is an only child and I know he wishes he had someone to think about his childhood with.

Am off to the drs tomorrow to discuss the random bleeding I have been having sigh

Hope you're all okay.

OP posts:
VenusInfers · 06/04/2010 20:02

helips that sounds pretty darn uncomfortable. Honestly, but the time we get this far down the road you'd think all the problems would have passed. I hope you feel better soon.

SirBoob Utmost sympathy over what you and your DP are going through. Every single thing about it sounds so difficult and draining. He's lucky to have you to support him through this.

DWB that dress looks so beautiful! And the bridesmaid one is very tasteful too. Clearly you are not a Bridezilla as you are allowing them to look pretty darn nice! Not a peach coloured ruffle in sight!

Helips So glad to hear that the test trip to Singapore went well. Sounds like an exhausting week, even before you factor in the jet lag, but great that you came back positive about the place. Two years there could be great, and just think of all the wonderful countries that you'll be that-much-nearer for holidays when you don't come back home. Can you tell us a bit more what the place is like?

Trekken Boo hiss that Easter Egg Hunt rip off. Stuff like that, designed purely to rip off kids and their parents, is so infuriating.

Scarlotti What ever you do don't get the Mothercare wooden high chair. It looks like a Tripp Trapp (sp?) one that allows baby to eat from a plate on the family table but is much cheaper. Turns out that's because it's almost impossible to assemble and one of the cushions can't actually be removed without taking the whole thing apart. Handy. Looks nice now, but not for long once we bring on the mushed carrot.

Was going to blab on about James's recent bother, but somehow not in the mood. Sigh. Essentially he suddenly ( like out of nowhere one night) started waking up every hour, improved by tilting his bed, cutting out caffine and dosing with infant gaviscon. But now he still wakes a lot and have been unable to get him off to sleep without a feed. He also wakes because he slowly works his way down the slope of his bed and wakes when his feet rub up against the base. So every two hours on average. He's happy in himself tho, and doesn't seem to be suffering at all. All a bit depressing after just getting a week or two of sleeping through and feeling so much better and full of energy myself. Foolishly hoped that we'd be good for while now. Fingers crossed we can get back to some order, as I hate returning to going to bed at 9pm so I get some zzzzs before the last feed. Grump, grump, grump. Anyone else been through something similar?

Fruitpastels · 06/04/2010 20:28

helips I hope you feel better tomorrow.

BBL well done on your prize!!

Scarlotti I hope things are getting better between you and DH. Glad you had a good time at the wedding! How did the broccoli go down? We are starting very slowly here with BLW, but it seems you can't rush it anyway. We gave C some chicken and greenbeans tonight. It was the funniest thing that DH and I have seen in a very long time. C was sucking on the chicken really hard and then would have the odd strand hanging out of his mouth. He got tired quickly with it and was happy to watch us carry on eating. I will try a little something every day with him. I think it will make us eat more healthy as well!

Night and day time naps are not going well here the past few days/ nights. Not sure what's going on. C is doing 30 min day time naps and it's not doing either of us any good. The nights are bad. I'm up at 12pm/2am/4am (for 1 hr) and then 6am. It's putting a huge strain on me and I've started to get headaches. He's sleeping in the lounge at the moment. Normally he would be upstairs. I'm going to wake him at 9pm and give him a nappy change, cuddle and feed and hope it will make a difference to his body clock for the rest of the night.

I have a question about bra's, hope someone can help me. I'm a bridesmaid in October. I expect I'll still be BF. I need a strapless bra. I can't find anything on the market that would do the job. I'm wondering how bad it would be if I wore a normal wired bra for the day??

scarlotti · 06/04/2010 20:44

SirBoob hope today went ok.

helips hope you feel better soon

Venus I had a night last night of almost hourly wakings, and we've had at least a week or more of him needing to feed to sleep at night. I think there is a sleep regression at around 4 or 5 months - there's a lot going on developmentally for them which knocks them for six I think. Exhausting though.

Fruit 30 min naps here too and it takes its toll. He managed to sleep today for 1.5 hours as I had a long drive to do and it made a difference to his grisly mood. Am hoping to sort out the napping thing over the next few weeks although he might have other ideas.
We did carrot and mash tonight but he was too tired and hungry to play ball. Going to focus on lunch I think for a while as he's normally in good form then.
Bras - my nursing bras are underwired ones so am sure you'd be fine with one for the day.
Thanks for asking re DH, we're on week 3 at relate this week and it was his turn to go alone. Am interested to hear from him later how it went and what they said.

Went to the childminder today and have sorted out some settling in sessions. Will be working Tues, Wed and Fri as that's the best days for childcare, and start in about 3 weeks. Seems to be coming around so quickly! Am quite looking forward to it, but am now worried that I'll be too tired if he's still unsettled at night!!

PavlovtheCat · 06/04/2010 21:10

Hey all, not been on for a few days, had a few 'issues' to deal with in the pavlov household. Sorted? not really but nevermind, time sorts out a lot eh? Anyway...

Reuben has been sleeping much better, since I paced all evening one evening with him, the following evening he fell asleep on his own and has been able to go to sleep on his own between 8-9pm, then waking 2-3am and 4:30am-5:30am, then awake for the day at around 7am but not wanting breakfast til about 7:45am. Naps are getting longer/more regular, about 1.5 hours at a time, but needs milk to settle and needs mama to stay sleeping.

But, there is some not great news. He likely has asthma. So as far as they can diagnose it in babies. I am devestated and worry that it is our fault, exposing him to third hand smoke. We went for his jabs today and nurse asked about his cough before going ahead, when I said it was still rumbly/wheezy and he had green snot/mucous she asked for gp to see him first. He checked him over and gave go ahead for jabs but also discussed the wheezing he could hear in his lungs, and how long this has been going on for. We are going to see him on Friday and he is going to do a more thorough check (we had this appt booked already) but he says it is a good possibility that the wheezing is asthma as he has a cough which is worse at night, it is there even when he does not have a cold, a cold makes it much worse and there is mucous build up in his chest (which seems to be in airways not lungs). He says he will talk to us about an inhaler for him to see if it helps.

My poor boy. I have said to DH for a few weeks I have worried it is this as when he is not coughing, there is an underlying wheeze, but the gp a couple of weeks ago could not hear it, as it comes and goes, but is more here than not atm so gp heard it today. I wish I could make it all go away for him

And he screamed the place down when he had his jabs.

scarlotti · 06/04/2010 21:42

Pav good to have you back, hope you're feeling a bit better about things now. Poor Reuben, hope he gets the medical attention he needs. Don't know too much about asthma, but am sure it will have been something from birth as opposed to anything you've done since he's been here. Don't put more pressure on yourself.

DontWorryBaby · 06/04/2010 21:43

Venus, fruit & scarlotti I'm with you on the deteriorating sleep. Up at least 5 times a night with Ethan. Sometimes only an hour between. It's down to teething but I'm finding it all a bit claustrophobic and stressful at the moment. Takes him ages to settle and fall asleep. This will pass, this will pass, this will pass...

helips I posted links to the dresses on Friday. I'm finding it very hard not to show everyone in real life so I'm very glad I can share with my online friends! The wedding will be in the October holiday, probably Fri 15th.

pav was wondering where you'd got to, hope you are all ok. Is this fallout from the non-smoking? Poor Reuben with the wheeze, hope it isn't too serious xx
