Here you go ladies.

belgina · 25/04/2010 20:22

pula no you haven't I think everyone must have been out to enjoy the sunshine.

We went to the zoo today. C didn't show any interest into the animals whatsoever, but the other 2 loved it. DH came along too, which was nice, because it was the 1st time in a long time we went on a proper family trip.

C also crawled over to me for the 1st time ever. She first cried and complained and then when I didnt move quick enough she crawled over

Jennster · 25/04/2010 21:26

Hello folks. Well I'm back from Shropshire. My house is still standing and my children still love me. I took dd2 with me. BfN can hardly object to a bf infant going along. She was the only one who didn't go along with a parent to be taken away, but she was SO good.

If you ever get prescribed a drug while you're breastfeeding your next babies, it could be me answering the phone.......

flippinegg · 25/04/2010 21:35

jennster - how exciting! I was just about to go on to the BfN website to check out anti-inflamatories!

Sorry, not other name checking, I can't type much as I have done something to my neck and it is Very Uncomfortable. At the moment red wine and ibuprofen is helping, but I may have to go to the doctors, I can hardly turn my head or lift the girls. Pretty sure it's muscular, went to the chiropractor on Friday, it helped but not cured.

A has got the pox! Spots started coming out this morning. Hot and grumy, but not terrible.

A has walked unassisted! Only two steps, but she's done it a few times now.

That's it for now. Sorry for mememme bit, I'll try again later this week. Hope all ok.

essenceofSES · 25/04/2010 21:42

pula - you didn't kill the thread. I'm just struggling to keep up and get time to post a catch up on everyone's news and a catch up on my news!

Quick headlines from Ses then...

  • O is walking!!!!
I know some of you saw my post on this on FB but Fri and Sat it was just 4 or 5 steps once and then today he's really starting to get brave and walk between things a lot more!
  • I'm still under the weather with throat infection combined with cold but gradually getting better
  • Didn't stop me enjoying our NCT joint 1st birthday party yesterday (just posted piccies on FB). We had a great afternoon with lovely weather. We've been so v lucky with our NCT friends

Jenn - sounds like your course was great and potentially sounds a great role that you'll fulfill.

Belgina - Zoo sounds good. I think I went to that one about 15 or 20yrs ago with my parents!
Sounds like a real "melt" moment with C crawling over to you

Spangle - hope you've had a good time with your mum and she's enjoyed seeing how well H has progressed. I can only imagine how tired you must have been feeling with H waking regularly, job and pregnancy. Take care of yourself.

Grumpy - hope the vom monster has left now?

Momino - hope you've had a better wkend. IKWYM about the hysterical laughing - sometimes there's nothing else for it.

Febes - hope you're ok? Not heard from you for a while? Are you just snowed under with ILs still? Hope the sale is progressing well.

Hello Llare , Reggiee , ReeBee , Headless , Running , Cherry and anyone else lurking!

essenceofSES · 25/04/2010 21:43

x-posts flip
ouch at your neck!
yay at A walking!
and hope her pox is just a mild dose.

momino · 25/04/2010 21:57

Hi all.
I am so utterly grateful that no one has been chatty on this thread lately. not so much to catch up on!

jennster, so glad the weekend went well, was it good to get away?

flippin, I really hope your neck feels better. I hope the ibuprofen is working (and the red wine!). Oh, and exciting news about A walking!

My other 2 walked before their 1st birthday but not sure H will. she's been mobile for quite awhile but just not trying to stand by herself (like pula's S)let alone take a step.

belgian, about C crawling over to you, very sweet.

pula, thanks for the advice on hitting. I noticed she's done it less over the weekend. I think showing less of a reaction has helped but it's really hard not to get angry with her.

spangle, don't worry about the sibling thing - they will be great mates!

anyway, can't be on much longer. am supposed to be spending time with DH.

who's birthday is next?

belgina · 25/04/2010 21:57

ses flip Walking babies! Gotta tell C to hurry up to keep up with her peers, lol. I'm quite happy C's my 3rd, or I'd be really worried about her being so slow to get going. Now I've got 3 I'm actually pretty happy she was stationary for so long

jenn Sounds like your meeting was good. How exciting about the BfN help line

flipp Hope your neck gets better soon. Sounds uncomfortable.

I keep thinking how things were so different on our thread a year ago. We often ended up in the most active threads with all our late pregnancy chat and impatience at the babies coming. It's just amazing how they're now all nearly 1.

momino · 25/04/2010 21:58

hi Ses!!!

momino · 25/04/2010 21:59

Hi Belg!

belgina · 25/04/2010 22:00

Ooh, x-post momi Glad the hitting is getting better. I found that ignoring bad behaviour while getting over excited about good behaviour does improve overall behaviour. It's just getting out of that pattern of behaviour that's the hard work.

Jennster · 25/04/2010 22:11

ses Great news about O. Initially I won't be doing it with my work hat on. I need personal prof indemnity insurance for that.....

Momi It's probably just a phase. Fingers crossed. DD1 has grown out of it, ds1 is growing into it.

Flip Ibuprofen is fine. One of the biggest bugbears is, at delivery there is a vast array of drugs that you will be given whether you are breastfeeding or not, but at 3 months, suddenly a GP is wary about it. What's changed? Your baby is bigger and much more likely to handle it and yet there is now more caution. I hope you feel better soon.

Jennster · 25/04/2010 22:12

Oh and hi Belg and goodnight too.

momino · 25/04/2010 22:16

goodnight all!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 26/04/2010 09:46

Hi all

I'm not namechecking, I'm going to be completely self-absorbed (chorus of 'AS USUAL' ).

S is still ill. She has just thrown up all over me. She's been ill since Thursday. She seemed batter last night and this morning but she was just bloody faking. I rang NHS Direct yesterday. She's not dehydrated excessively - I'm bfing her when she wants. I just want her better . I don't want to smell of sick any more . I want to have my jolly baby back .

runningmonkey · 26/04/2010 10:32

Aww grumps, sounds like its been horribly hard going over the weekend. No sensible advice I'm afraid - A had a tummy bug about a month ago that was the opposite of vom ifyswim and it hung about for a week - Dr sad just to ride it out and keep offering lots of liquids but that's easier said than done isn't it! Is it worth a trip or phonecall to your local GP? I find mine much more useful than NHS direct.

Big un-mn'etty hug for you despite the smell

quick wave to everyone else, am supposed to be doing some schoolwork while A sleeps.

I just noticed I typed 'batter' not 'better'

FiByTheIcySea · 26/04/2010 14:38

back from swimming and now grabbing a quick slice of toast n philadelphia
belgina G needed a sun hat so i've made her a cloche style crocheted hat.. if you happen to know the measurement of head circumference that's needed to go over your friends little girls hair i can alter the pattern to make the larger size. i'll upload a photo tonight for you to see.

FiByTheIcySea · 26/04/2010 14:45

ses flip uhoh but at your new walkers! clever O and A. sorry A has the CP though but good to get it out of the way?! hope your neck is feeling a bit better today flip too.

FiByTheIcySea · 26/04/2010 14:56

pula still bf here too.. G is still on 3 or 4 bf during the day but that's it as she's not had any between 7pm to 7am for some time. basically she's just having milk and her 3 meals still. when we get back from canada or when we're there i might start replacing one or both of the mid am and mid pm feeds with food and a drink instead.

FiByTheIcySea · 26/04/2010 15:02
