OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
hopalongsausage · 17/03/2010 21:59

Just been promised more painkillers, so I may sign off now before I go even more rambly and huffy!

Night all - thanks for cheering me up. Lots of tears today, so this little interlude was a real tonic

essenceofSES · 17/03/2010 22:06

saus - g'night! Hope you manage to get some rest and your bruises start to go down.

I'm getting droopy eye syndrome here too so will log off before I fall asleep with the laptop.

SinninHinny · 17/03/2010 22:15

Home made card

saus Have you had a poo yet?

I am feeling knackered, having chauffered children all evening. I'm going to read a crap magazine for a bit.

Running best of luck with the CM xx

febes · 17/03/2010 22:17

Saus good idea to delete the sausage bruise photo. Nothing like morphine photograghy to make you cringe the next day. Although it does sound interesting. Your MIL stories have me ROFLing. My MIL arrives on Tuesday to stay for a month. A month. A month I do love her but a MONTH

flippinegg · 17/03/2010 22:19

saus - hope the drugs are good! Sleep well.

ses - sorry to hear you're not so happy with work too, it sounds really hard.

I've had to go up to A again, she's coughing loads. I'm going to give up soon and go to bed too.

Tummum · 17/03/2010 22:52

Saus enjoy the drugs ! Oh, and ROFL with MIL stories. I completely sympathise.

Ses hugs to you too. I am not the right person to give advice about work. All I can say is that I found it (and still find it) difficult to balance working when you don't have the flexibility (or energy) to be able to work longer hours or in the evening to be able to fit everything in.

GHD update... well, I look less like a poodle, but definitely not as glam as when I left the hairdressers. So it's a compromise. And I will get a new style next time I go.

belgina · 17/03/2010 22:58

Evening all,

A quick hello before bed. Had a late shift today, not v busy. No new babies.

saus Hope you can come down from your morphine induced high soon. Hope the pain goes down quickly soon too. about your hip. A hip op is never nice, but on the bright side: once it's healed it should be better again for a bit. Oh and I was wondering how you established that it was a chorizo bruise and, say, not a salami bruise

febes A MONTH?? Good luck with that.

tum ses work. Hope it gets better.

flip good luck with your PIL too.

running re your childminder. It's their job to settle babies and not to get upset about clingyness. I also agree that she should have mentioned it earlier. You might have been able to give her a few useful suggestions.

MIL/DM My MIL is OK, but it's my mum who has been known to kidnap babies to show off to neighbours. Luckily I don't get naff presenst for C from anyone in the family

york meet up Sounds like you had a nice time

Right. Time to go to bed now. I know C's waiting for me in there, because She woke at 10, I fed her and then she woke again 30 min later, so DH went up to bed and took her in with him.

hopalongsausage · 18/03/2010 08:03

Morning.

Better night here, but not full of sleep. Am missing M so much

Belgina - it did make me larf re your comment about chorizo v salami! Thankyou! Don't forget to email me about your DD if you are still concerned. I know the person in your area if you want a referral.

Febes - a month? Blardy hell, good luck!

Tummum I think we should meet and compare bonkers MIL stories and stuff. When I'm bouncing about I'll invite myself to stay at my brothers house in Roade and come and visit you, preferably with a ton of chocolate.

Singing - no poo yet - TMI alert - not going to look forward to it either, as I think the pushing bit (ugh) is going to make my hip throb. Ow.

Had my morning druuuugs. And paper! Gasping for tea. Just been given an ice pack as leg is now swelling as well as delisausagebruise growing....

Have a nice day everyone....

HeadlessLadyH · 18/03/2010 08:31

Morning all

Awwwww saus am sorry but am LOL at the sausage bruise, but am sure its not really funny at all.Hope the Drugs Are Working for you. Perhaps you should sneak some in your MILs tea, Now that would be interesting. Sympathy vibes re the poo situation. After having R I wasn't allowed to leave hospital until I had (ahem) been. Luckily I did eventually but I was tempted to lie. They weren't asking for evidence. Lactulose helped enormously. Are you getting any of that in your plethora of pharmaceutical wonders?

febes a month?? WOnder what gifts she will bring? Thats not meant to sound grabby but I seem to remember you had a bit of a tale about something she sent you after R was born? Good luck!!

running gah. That must be frustrating re your CM.

ses and tum and your work woes. Hope there are better days all round.

We actually had a decent night here for a change. R went through till 5.15am. Which is fantastic progress considering this time last week we were in the throes of horrid teething and no sleep. Yay R!!!!

So,off to the gym for a spinning class, then music class and lunch with some pals. Busy busy. Must sort out stuff for skiing on Sunday. Its a major operation to get all 4 of us there with all the right clothes and all the right equipment. I have about 4 lists on the go.

hopalongsausage · 18/03/2010 08:42

Headless I love lists! Think I still have lactulose in the cupboard at home from around, oooh, May time last year - good idea! Well done R for last night! You must be v

Spinning? Are you insane? I'm like that bit on Bridget Jones, you know, she stands up and immediately falls over. But ha, who knows, with my new shiny shaved hip I should be able to do all sorts! I hope....

febes · 18/03/2010 09:27

Morning!!

Headless Yes I am also wondering what MIL will bring with her . I've encouraged her 'Just to bring herself' . I'm a little concerned as they are coming on a shoestring and have never travelled before so I am worried that unless I'm taking the places they will be sitting at home with MEEEEE . I'm sure it will be fine .

youngerthanspringtime · 18/03/2010 14:43

Hello, just a quick catch up and poor attempt at namechecking.

saus, got through it with flying colours! not an easy op to go through. Must admit, with the op, your family stories... producing very funny anectdotes . Hope you're ok today, anyway.

Ses, I hope things get better for you at work. is there anything about your current job you can change to make it better? or a move to Oman might help a bit ?

Febes, will be looking forward to your MIL stories.

Pula/Singin, glad you're both back home ok and was great to see you and your gorgeous babies. It was so nice to see the 3 of them playing together so nicely (as the photos prove). please let me know next time you're (or anyone else, for that matter) in York again and I'll drop anything to see you (except the baby).

LadyH, please may I come with you skiing? please?

running, I'm at your CM. I just thought a CM would work with a baby's moods and character and A will eventually settle. Also, is teething a problem that's mixed up in this? if so, calpol could help. Too bad CM's weren't a dime a dozen, I'd tell you to go find a new one. anyway, hope it works out.

Belg, no babies? when's the full moon? Please let me know if you're busier during a full moon (that's what I've heard and findit amusing - dd2 was born on a very, very busy full moon night).

Hello to everyone else!

just a quick note from me, had an ultrasound scan ofmy abdomen to find cause of my cramps, pain...nothing found! I'm so relieved but still a bit . I'm going to try to move on and put it down to either 1) IBS or 2) ovaries/uterus/etc getting back to pre-preg state (haven't been 'there' for 4 years!). so yes, relief. I'm going to give myself a break from anxiety for awhile now. going back to my natal hypnotherapy cd .

MIL with the oldergirls. will try to check back in later.

belgina · 18/03/2010 14:58

younger Nah, the full moon thing is a myth. October tends to be very busy though. They're our xmas babies, lol. Great news about the US scan result too. Hopefully your abdo pain settles by itself.

saus I didn't want to bother you with your hip op etc... I did go to the GP with her, but he was a bit useless. Seems like I live in an area with useless GPs

headless Yay re the sleeping. re skiing trip on Sun. Haven't skied in, 18 years or so

febes Sounds like you're going to have to organise plenty of trips for your inlaws.

Not too bad a night here. C definitely woke at 1.30, but after that I can't remember anything until 6.30. BUT I woke up with empty boobs, so perhaps I've fed her in my sleep or something

DS is at home today. He vomitted yesterday apparently and this am he was still feeling unwell. He's spent all day on the sofa under his duvet reading books and is feeling much better now. Dd1 was of him and kept complaining about feeling sick too before going to school, despite eating 2 sandwiches for breakfast and seeming perfectly fine, lol. She had to go and we warned the school not to send her home if she's merely complaining of feeling sick as opposed to actually being sick, IYKWIM.

Oh and it looks like we might have good news re the house down the road. Apparently the owner is seriously considering accepting our offer and she's going to let us know on monday It also looks like the offer we've had and accepted on our house is serious and so it should be sold in 6 weeks time. Exciting times here in house Belgina

Anyone know how fi is doing? Haven't seen her on here in a little while.

muddleddaizy · 18/03/2010 15:04

Hi there,

I haven't been on here for ages, as I keep reading and thinking that I'll do a big name check a la Fi and I just can't find the time! I'm absolutely shattered at the moment, with work and ds2 will not leave me alone. I never had the separation anxiety with ds1, so this is frustratingly new to me!

Febes good luck with the MIL! At least you are close to London you can send her in to look at all the free museums!! Thankfully my MIL refuses to fly, because although she's lovely she would get up to so much mischief over here!! Added to that she'd let the ds's do ANYTHING that they liked!!

Younger glad that all was well with the ultrasound today.

Headless Enjoy the skiing!

TTC Am so of you all!! I wish my hormones would go away. Was talking to DH about this last night. He is dead set against another dc and I think it would be detrimental to our marriage, but my hormones just keep pounding away and I feel so sad that I will never have a chance for a dd

Sausage Hope you're back home now and in less pain today. I sent you a rambling email last night!!

Hope everyone else is well, got to help ds1 out on the wii!!

FiByTheIcySea · 18/03/2010 15:54

belgina I am alive.. at everyone. sorry i've not been on. i've been crocheting, checking out flights, car hire, accommodation in annapolis valley, G has been teething n snotty n had high temp again, also finding my last CV n portfolio work wise to begin converting it to C canadian resume.. have not had much time to read n post so i've been randomly lurking when I had a spare min.. might not make it back on properly until tomorrow and hope to catch up then.
so for the moment just sending lots of gentle hugs to sausage with about the MIL/DM!

belgina · 18/03/2010 20:29

fi I'm crochetting myself now too. I'm on my 3rd row of just a teach myself square My ambition is to crochet something nice for C, I've seen so many pretty things, but not sure what it'll be yet. I'll just do a few squares until it comes natural and my stitches are more regular.
Exciting about your Annapolis adventure. Boo to G's snotty high temp thing

muddled Clinginess. Not nice. I hate leaving for work every day as each time I walk out the door C starts crying I know she'll settle, but I feel so sad for her.

Right. Back to the crochetting

youngerthanspringtime · 18/03/2010 20:42

I'm so interested in starting crochet... but, when? I'm supposed to be working but am sipping a glass of wine and on MN .

fi, that is exciting about your adventure. I'm ready for a new adventure. but where? Ses, I'll take your Oman adventure if you want to send it our way .

Belg, is C settling for the AP ok?

muddled, Hi! Ikwym about TTC . are you sure there is no hope to sway your DH? I, too, am sad that we won't have a chance for a DS but I suppose if I even had the energy to have another baby at my age, it would prob be another girl. not that i mind girls (by now after 3 )....

ok, it's off to work I gooooo .

am sure to be back on here intermittently. work, schmirk.

flippinegg · 18/03/2010 21:48

Evening all!

sausage - hope you are ok.

headless - . At skiing, sleeping babies, lists and spinning. Well, maybe not spinning, but a grown-up child-free activity.

muddled - hello! Clinginess, I feel your pain.

febes - hope the inlaws are ok. Mine have arrived, haven't managed to annoy me too much yet (apart from FIL peering at my boobs at deliberately making A laugh while I was trying to feed her).

A is still coughing. When do you take them to the drs? I think it's just because of all the snot (from teething) - she's grumpy and clingy, and absolutely shattered because she hasn't really slept properly since Monday but no temperature or any other symptoms. WWYD?

I had promised that I wouldn't mention the flipping potty training again, but I thought I'd just say that this is going to cost me a fortune in small 'rewards' - only one accident today, woohoo! Hope I'm not still having to bribe her when she's a teenager!

Loobylou36 · 18/03/2010 21:57

hi

haven't been on for a while - expect I've missed lots

M has been poorly again cough went to her chest again so ended up on antibiotics and an inhaler 3x a day

went away for our anniversary last weekend to devon - we had lovely weather and M perked up a bit and then passed her bugs to me so I'm now full of cold/cough

managed to get to baby yoga this morning tho which was great

trying to fit in fun things with M now I'm back at work

Got to see mums social worker tomorrow to discuss her care

flippinegg · 18/03/2010 21:58

Crochet, I think I'm going to give it a go. Might stop me internetting so much!

youngerthanspringtime · 18/03/2010 21:59

Flippin, so glad potty training was ok today, hurrah! for some reason, dd2 has had a setback for a few days with lots of accidents. Strangely dd1 (4) also had an accident yesterday at the park. She was really upset, bless, as that doesn't happen to her. hope it's a one-off.

Please send positive potty vibes our way! (will send them right back atcha)

Jennster · 19/03/2010 11:40

belgina hope ds gets upped to the right dose soon. knitting wise, Englis size 8 (4mm)are the best to go with double knitting wool. Good luck with it!

Reebee that commute sounds tough.

Sausage Glad you're out of hospital. Am I weird in wanting to see a picture of your chorizo sausage bruise?

Ses I think you have to be fairly philosophical wrt to work at the moment, especially if you are ttc dc2.

~flippin hope potty traing is going ok. Ds has wees cracked. Poos however are hit and miss. YUK to cleaning shitty underpants.

muddled I've come across a few nurseries with term time only places. Worth loking for one.
younger they mention smores in toy story.

one handed here. busy day. Sorry not to name check. Am back at work mon.

youngerthanspringtime · 19/03/2010 13:23

jennster good luck with work on Monday (!).

better potty day today. sigh of relief.
beautiful, beautiful day - it feels like spring finally.

posting and running..... have a good day, all.

essenceofSES · 19/03/2010 13:44

jennster - you're right about trying to be a bit more philosophical about work, especially if I could be off on ML again. We're not ttc yet but hopefully will be in a few months.
Good luck with your return. Are you going back p/t?

flippin & younger - good toilet training vibes coming your way!

saus - hope you're doing ok.

Oman - still not heard any more so DH thinks it's unlikely to come off now. Shame, as I was just getting my head around it!

Friend from my post natal group fell down the stairs carrying 10mo DD yesterday. She scraped all down her back and her DD has her tiny leg in plaster. Her DD doesn't seem too bothered but it must have been a dreadful shock.

Jennster · 19/03/2010 17:11

ses Yes I'm doing Monday and Tuesday- 2 x 10 hour days. What a dreadful shock for your friend. Glad they weren't seriously hurt.

Yay ds just went to the toilet and did a poo! He'd just had a poo accident at nursery too.

Gorgeous day here too. Wish I'd been in the garden tidying and planning my raised beds, instead of rushing around. Weather is turning too.
