Went to Horton Park Farm with Q today. Brilliant. So much more to do than Godstone (we used to go there a lot)... a few different playgrounds, some animals, a soft play area.... Q and I were there for 5 hours while dh painted and sanded and whatever. Exhausting, but perfect day for it!! We could have stayed even longer... Q only had 45 min nap at 11 . He's stopping to rub his eyes every few minutes now... but we won't put him to bed until 7... he's been sleeping until 7 or if we put him in bed later, 7.30... One morning close to 8 . So we're getting some nice sleep!! He does come into bed with us in the wee hours still (around 3 or 4 or 5am).

Yay for more words, myjob!!

pepper - duck called jeff? Jeff was my tumor, I believe... I'm

50ft no worries I'll check with you all first next time. Nice idea to have M at nursery for a day.

myjob can you send me or post how you made that bean mixture? It was delicious! I want to make it

Star - Pepper was referring to my FB up-date I think! Jeff is my name of choice for lots of random stuff, it used to be Steve, now it's Jeff. Make sure you do check with us because we generally have a VERY different opinion to that offered by your H.

Not sure of when to put M in nursery. I am starting to think she would enjoy it as she seems to love other small children of around her age (which is 18 months today ).

Myjob - Easter has bought a new word to M's lips..... Can you guess what it might be?

How on earth did you guess that Myjob?! It's actually more like "Jojot" but we KNOW what it means!

StarExpat · 09/04/2010 19:21

lol 50ft. Does she demand it all the time now? Fortunately, Q can't say chocolate, so he just has to wait and get lucky when it's around

Thanks, myjob.

50ftQueenie · 09/04/2010 19:27

Not all the time, only when her memory is jogged..... It's very cute and very annoying! She has some really bizarre words: Kitchen, breakfast, dinner...... hmmmm..... they're all focused around food!

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/04/2010 20:49

hmm recommended Horton Park Farm last year didn't she?

Am ignoring all conversation about chatty babies .

Busy but nice day at home today. Friend (mine and dd's) round to play whilst we organised stuff for hols. Weather was nice so dc mostly played in the garden, whilst we based ourselves in the breakfast room with the back doors wide open (cafe style for those who haven't seen).
Hoping for a smooth drive tomorrow - will be a long time in the car, but stopping off to meet friends for lunch after about 3 hours.

Yes Horton Farm is great ... lets have a meet-up there!

Pops still hasn't tried "proper" chocolate yet. Altho I gave her marshmallows the other day.

M will love nursery no doubt 50ft, Pops loves it now, she cries when she has to go home now!!!

Aww, DH took her to the local park today and when they ran out of bread to feed the ducks she told the ducks "all gone" - how cute is that??? It's times like that that I wish I wasn't at work. Have had a good day tho, the tender I was working on until 11PM on Tues looks like it might go to us so that means I've won £55k worth of work for the firm. Plus it was announced today (finally) that I'm doing a people management role. All very exciting. I do love my job

StarExpat · 10/04/2010 08:44

I went to horton farm last year, too (as it's only 10 minute drive from me in traffic). We went to Godstone more because it was a bit cheaper but further away... so doesn't make much sense. It's really fun at Horton Park!!

Well done hmm at work!!
Q has a skeleton vocab and rarely uses it.
Havea good drive, csws!!

ronshar · 10/04/2010 08:57

Star if a person has low self esteem then the last thing they need is someone undermining them all the time. This is what your DH does to you.
If he is anything like my DH then he probably doesn't deal with change very well. The idea of moving filled dh with dread for years! I had to give him an ultimatum in the end. Either we all leave or I leave him. That worked, we were out 6 weeks later

CSWS have a great holiday. Hopefully the weather will stay nice for you.

50ft. Deep breaths remember. Count to 100 and walk away. I also find that shutting the door and keeping the children on the other side really helps too. And the garden has taken a battering this week as well!

HMM well done. It sounds like things are really getting better for you at the moment. You should ask for a raise

Pistachio, when do you get your results from your essay? Do you have to wait long to find out?

Myjob, I will look for when the girls have an inset day and then I promise I will drive down to you. I promise. I keep saying I will but this time I really mean it. You may be out when we get there mind you

William has been introduced to the toilet. I bought him a seat and he has been sitting on it. He loves it. Keeps asking to go on it. Now we need to master the nappy off sitting.

ronshar · 10/04/2010 09:03

Dont worry Star the only thing W can say properly is "ello daddy"! He knows already who to be nice too!
He can def make himself known for lots of other things mind you.
Stink for poos.
Stuck when he is stuck in his high chair or just stuck, normally half way up something he shouldnt be.
Down.
Ted for his numerous teddies which are supposed to stay in his bed
He makes a noise similar to the word but noone else other than those of us in this house can tell what he means!
His best trick is to just go into the cupboard and get what he wants. The walks up to you and squeaks while shoving whatever it is in your face or smashing your leg with it!
Typical boy.

Pistachio. Think of the time you will save by taking off the napppies. I saw the most cute little pants in Boots the other day. I cant wait to see W little bottom running around in some cool dude pants.
Well done to your DS. Very clever boy. Not sure your DD agrees

Pistachio - Ah, poor DD. Maybe T is just marking her as his because he loves her. Yay for the night out. I've forgotten what one of those is!

Myjob - M has NO clue either. I thought she was starting to understand but no, she did a wee when she got out of the bath last night and it totally shocked her! She was very confused and tried to rub it away with her foot.

Ronshar - How you manage to deal with three children and still have three left alive at the end of the day is beyond me! My two constantly bicker and can't do anything without close supervision. Nightmare!

Hmm - Yay!!! Well done you and it is fabulous that you love your job. One day I hope to love my job too! DS used to cry when we collected him from nursery and I have told you already about the "you're not my mummy" incident!

Yes XP has Ryan 12-5 on Saturday and Sunday afternons. He has asked today if he can have him earlier on Sunday so possibly move to full days soon. I don't think that he does nap properly - if he picks him up at 12, that is right in the middle of his usual nap time, so it does disturb things. Sometimes he is asleep in the car when he drops him back too which is a pain as it's too late in the day.

Saw B (the "friend" who came over the other night - quotes just because not sure what else to call it just yet!) today when Ryan was with XP, it was lovely, he is really nice. Hopefully seeing him again this week, then he is back to uni (3 hours away) until July It's not too bad though, I quite like being single, as in enjoying having my own space etc so wouldn't want to rush into anything new anyway. XP definitely saw him when he dropped Ryan back and we left him waiting 20 minutes petty I know but he has always been either late or early to drop him off and pick him up, and I was actually doing something, not just hanging around for the sake of it. Hopefully he won't say anything tomorrow when he picks DS up. I don't think he would but he knows that I had history with B before we went out so I am worried that he might jump to the conclusion that I was cheating on him (I wasn't). I guess not much I can do about that though, none of his business what I get up to now after all.

pistachio sounds like your DS has been reading up on elimination communication too, lol. I hate nappies so the sooner Ryan is out of them the better. Haven't started anything yet though. Every time I have ever put him on a potty he has just crawled straight off it, so I have just left it. Am wondering about getting one of those toilet seats because he likes to sit on adult size chairs at the moment. But not going to push anything.

myjob Ryan is climbing too - I dread the day when he can climb stairgates, I think this summer is going to be unbearable as I won't be able to open any of the upstairs windows Was hoping to put a stairgate on bedroom door and open the window in the blocked off room but if he masters climbing them then that is no use! He worked out how to wriggle under the ones we had in our old house because XP put them on too high from the floor.

I am NOT saying how much chocolate Ryan has had!!

Honeymoonmummy · 10/04/2010 23:30

Hey all! I have just shaved my legs with a proper razor for the first time in my LIFE!!! I was really nervous!! I've always used ladyshaves for shaving but I couldnt find it.

Pistachio, that's brilliant re your DS. I do think it makes a difference when they have older brothers and sisters to look up to.

Has Heather been on here recently? The job I'm on at the moment is in her neck of the woods.

aubergenie · 11/04/2010 08:20

Glad you survived HMM. I really need to do something about my personal grooming. We've got a book all about animal feet and twice now S has pointed at a picture of a bird with really sharp claws and scaly feet and said "mama". Time for a pedicure, I think...

Also, it sounds like your return to work has gone really well. I really struggled at first and felt like it took ages to get used to it. It's so great to have a job that you love isn't it?

Hope you had a god journey CSWS and that you get some lovely weather this week.

BerieB - It sounds like you're getting a good support network together. I hope you can get your XP on board about your routines.

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/04/2010 10:46

morning!
Just a quickie from the car to tell myjob that we're off to the milky way today and meeting my brother and sil there .

I have a broken pinkie toe. It's been sore for 2 weeks now. Today some yob young boy smashed my finger in a door in his haste and it stung forever... still hurts and is totally black under the nail. no clue what that means... but thought 50ft and Ronshar might have a fun time imagining that and they might even know if my finger is going to fall off or not.

I cannot imagine going to work every day to a job I didn't love. I wouldn't do it.

I had the stupidest debate with my sister on fb today from her status... she is truly a moron.
