Hello! I haven't been around lately because M has been trying to drop her nap! Cheeky minx! I'm not giving up my time that easily so I have been resisting this change for the time being. And I have been knitting lots in the evening....
I haven't had time to catch up yet but Star, don't worry about the speech thing. As you've already said children are all different. DS was taking in sentences by 14 months so M is WAY behind him. But they are soooo different. M is affectionate and needy while DS was detached & content to be on his own. Up until 12 months as parents we didn't do anything different (DS went to nursery at 12 months). I know it is SO hard to ignore those developmental chart things (I was obsessed when DS was young and would panic if he wasn't at least 2 months ahead. How ridiculous!). I can honestly say that I haven't even looked at one since M was 8 months so I have no idea if she is ahead, behind or spot on! I don't know about the headaches, but losing colour is a new one on me! Migraines can cause all sorts of different vision disturbances so it might just be a different experience to any you've had previously. I had migraines as a teenager and they often caused different vision problems.
Camping - urgh! Never, ever, ever. I would rather eat my own head. CSWS and I will be in the luxury suite getting room service and booking our spa treatments.
Ekka - Is M ok with strawberries, pears and melon? I ask because DH is allergic to kiwis and these other fruits. Poor M, hope that's the last allergy to discover.
Pistachio - I am totally fed-up with the NCT at the moment! The application procedure changed in Oct 09 so I am trying to get some sensible information from them but they keep just sending me the same info over and over again! It's so frustrating! A lesser woman would have given up by now!
Since I last spoke to you all I have been to DS's parent's evening, taken M trampolining and got my total weight loss up to 2st 10lbs! The parent's evening was fabulous! DS is in the top group for the year and if he carries on doing as well as he has been he'll be off to grammar school eventually! He is achieving a level 3 something (I know NOTHING about keystage stuff ) which I think is good for the baby of a year 2 class. Yay DS!
Trampolining was a resounding failure! M enjoyed actually being on the trampoline and was more confident than some of the older children, however the concept of turn taking seems to be a new one to her. I'll take her back when she's older.....
