lol Oops and you think my schedule is busy

oopsandbabycoconut · 01/03/2010 21:58

Yes, Dizzy but at least you plan your own - it is not sprung on you at the last minute.

dizzydixies · 01/03/2010 22:00

most of the time, the work have a tendency to spring things on DH which I normally have a temper tantrum about

a big from me too even though I've left the 'not on the high street' brochure lying about for him for inspiration and hinted very unsubtely about a bracelet I want - NEVER going to happen

hotterpotter · 01/03/2010 22:06

Well I'm off to pack my bag for my exciting trip to Birmingham in the morning. The hotel wants to charge £10 for internet access in my room so I probably won't be back on here until Wednesday night, unless I get too desperate and have another go on my phone. Night all

oopsandbabycoconut · 01/03/2010 22:06

That may well be why he is being cagey - although I doubt it! Are you about on the 28th? Apparently our plans have been cancelled

dizzydixies · 01/03/2010 22:09

HOTS if you get desperate you can sit outside maccyD's and poach their wifi as we did on many occasions in Oz.

night all - I need to get some sleep as there is a creature that gets in my bed at 6.45 and takes my pillow claiming 'MY PILLILO, off mummy'

You ladies just don't have a clue how many life issues of mine you've touched on this evening!

Cyteen ((hugs)) to you my dear. I completely understand your anger at being kept in the dark.

Miamla my father wanted to walk me down the isle too. He even planned his trip to Vegas to do it but I said no. We (me & DH) wanted to exchange vows on our own...our way. He was of course invited to the wedding party when we returned home...as was everyone else on the planet.

I can openly admit to all of you here I am also one who's lived a life fully of secrets and skeletons and crap. Isn't that just how life is?

DH is home with dinner so must run. I hate a missed all the conversations. Such is life.

Rest well, friends.

Miamla yes you stand your ground. Not wanting to have the conversation about being given away was a factor in how we arranged our wedding (v informal registry office). I also didn't want speeches, but bear in mind it is quite difficult to stop someone standing up and tapping their glass... My mistake was not to ask someone else to make a speech instead, which meant that everyone was sort of waiting for one and asking him - people really like drinking a toast at a wedding.

Oh dear you all went to bed ages ago, you are so much more sensible than me

Hots enjoy your trip.

pertelote · 01/03/2010 23:28

Of course, if I stay up stupidly late I have the pleasure of TS's company! Hullo you Not going to hang around and chat though I'm afraid, DH has finished writing his lecture so I've no more excuse for staying up... hope you're enjoying your dinner

RedLentil · 01/03/2010 23:30

I am very lucky to have a very wonderful dad, cowed into submission by a wife and four daughters. He is truly remarkable and I know how lucky I am to have him.

Cyteen, would it help at all to go back to your dad and say that some of it came as a shock and you'd like to be able to check things with him about it if you feel the need. I was going to ask like VG if a second CRUSE counsellor had been assigned after the muppet one ...

You have too much to carry.

I loved the Vonnegut locket btw - I absolutely love Slaughterhouse Five. It's one of the few books I re-read a lot. What line would you put inside if not that one?
Didn't Buckets name ds2 after Vonnegut?

We spent a lot of this morning following the neighbourhood cats. DD2 has just figured out that walking works outside just as well as inside and is motoring about rather than demanding to be picked up. Later, in the back of the car ds worked out that she was singing 'Glory, glory Man. United'

RedLentil · 01/03/2010 23:33

Oh, and she pointed at herself yesterday and shouted 'EVA'.

It's not a name we use for her much, but she clearly likes it.
