Good morning Miamla! Well done on the decision making.

Hots I have only just caught up with your sad news too. I'm so sorry

A big Friday hullo to everyone. Quite amused to find myself with time to get on here at this time instead of running around like a mad thing - DD woke at 7 as usual but DH got up and went to work for an early meeting and lo! therefore the rest of us are ready an hour earlier than usual too. Now I will ruin it no doubt by wasting time online.

poppysocks · 19/03/2010 09:14

I too missed your sad news hp. So sorry. As you say though, wonderful to have had so much time.

Well done miamla! What fab readings too. Partic. the Captail Corelli of course . Your vow reminded me of ours. I'd entirely forgotten we'd even made it . Tbh all this talk of yours has been good for me as I've gone back to ours, re-read them and thought about us in them iyswim. I do love my DH v v much.

Oh don't get me started on E and shoes dizzy. I just assumed that shoe obsession was a standard developmental milestone as both have gone nuts for them at exactly the same point. DD2 wandered in the other day with her shoes on, inside DD2's and then inside DH's. Actually quite impressive! She still has tiddly feet. Has made it to a whole 3 and half now though!

Booked our summer hol. Really nothing exciting but am soooo excited. Still 4 months to go but nice to have something to aim for. In the meantime though must get with sorting out transport for our trip south for another Easter wedding.

CaptainCaveman · 19/03/2010 09:51

Ahh, they are nice miamla . My dad said some lovely things in his speech at my wedding, the one thing that has always stuck with me is "....and long after the flames of passion have died down to an ember, may you find that you have married your best friend". And indeed I have!!

Hello everyone It's Friday, yay! Play day!!

cyteen · 19/03/2010 09:54

Aww, that's sweet CC. And very brave of your dad to even contemplate his little girl experiencing flames of passion

God only knows what my dad will say.

alittlebitshy · 19/03/2010 10:09

we had the Captain corelli one too. back then v few people did it - now loads do. what else did we have? The other readings were biblical ones - can't remember what . i think one from Corinthians and one from Ruth.

Miamla · 19/03/2010 10:19

the man from del monte says no to corelli!

back to the drawing board! i'll have to have another look through the choices you all suggested yesterday!

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/03/2010 10:22

Miamla - try looking here

Miamla · 19/03/2010 10:24

ooh oops you're on a roll this morning!! thank you!

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/03/2010 10:26

I have a sleeping baby on me and a laptop...... and no doors on my house!

Miamla · 19/03/2010 10:32

a curious combination but i'm not complaining!

Miamla · 19/03/2010 11:01

well done oops, the first one from your link has got a yay!

how do brides do this without a bunch of wonderful girls like you lot as their wedding planning team?!!

dizzydixies · 19/03/2010 11:13

well done Miamla sounds fad - how are the favours going?

have decided some of the shoes are going on ebay to try to raise some cash we have a 3 pairs of brand new shoes that Dylan has flown past and as much she loves them they won't even go on!

Poppy - D walked about with her shoes on under my friends wee boy's wellies at the gymnastics, caused much hilarity until it was time to give Leo back his wellies and her wee heart broke!! Where are you going on your holidays?

L away on a sponsored walk for sport relief, I didn't get told or a form from the playgroup so we turned up at the wrong place this morning, had to leg it to find them and I'll have to fire in some money instead of sponsorship all for her going along the way that we walk everyday am aware am being a bit mean but I could have had the forms in work getting everyone to chip in for it - I've paid for all of their kids sponsored stuff over the year - our playgroup is so unorganised its embarrassing

Miamla · 19/03/2010 11:18

hmm favours.... still haven't decided!
i have just sorted out some balloons for the evening decoration bit though. spoke to a lovely guy

right time for favours!

i'll chuck a couple of £s your way for L

dizzydixies · 19/03/2010 11:25

Miamla thats VERY sweet of you however am not sure if she' now qualifies having been brought hom by one of the playgroup workers lol - doorbell went and there she was having decided she was tired after the walk and wanted to come home we live right next to the harbour so they were passing - lazy wee sod and she's now happily watching Aladdin and eating biscuits - got to love that child lol

Miamla · 19/03/2010 11:28

oh how funny! reminds me of my duke of edinburgh survival weekend thing... my school actually changed our route to walk past the end of my drive. I have to say, those bacon sandwiches and cups of tea were the best my mum has ever made! But we did continue on and finish our trip!

dizzydixies · 19/03/2010 11:33

apparently she's shattered as she has ridden her imaginary horse Ted-Jack-Bullseye the whole way round

Miamla · 19/03/2010 11:36

well i'm not surprised she's tired! deary me woman! have you no sympathy for a poor worn out horse rider??

dizzydixies · 19/03/2010 11:39

I feel a tad more sorry for Ted-Jack-Bullseye if I'm honest lol

luckoftheirish · 19/03/2010 11:48

lol dizzy your dd2 is a right old charachter.. gotta love them ..

miamla.. sob sob.. beauitful, funny lovely ..

great news here AF arrived!!!! only a week late but massive relief all around... dh came down stairs this am before i told him and he said " i still like the name Carter for a boy".. but he was massively relieved too!!!

having massive issues with dd1 atm.. have taken her to the docs twice in the last week over a sore throat.. docs said both times nothing wrong.. got call from nursery earlier to say that dd1 burst into tears and said her throat hurt after having disagreement with other child.. she is not hot.. so i have said see how she gets on at her lunch.. if she doesn't eat it and still upset will go and get her... please tell me i am not being a bad mummy????

dizzydixies · 19/03/2010 11:52

of course you're not LOTI but please make sure the Dr checked everywhere, sometimes kids can't really explain where they are sore and say throat/head/ears/nose etc because they don't know how to describe it

luckoftheirish · 19/03/2010 11:56

thanks dizzy... both times last tues and last night two different docs checked her throat/ears and listened to her chest...

not sure if there is somthing under lying as she keeps burstig into tears but on the other hand she is such a bright little thing that she could just be having me on... think i will ring nursery at 12.15 after lunch and see how she is...

dizzydixies · 19/03/2010 11:58

ah wee soul - if nothing else growing pains are sore on them too but you are ABSOLUTELY right to make sure she's not having you on. DD1's best friend keeps getting sent home from school when she feels like it for all sorts of nonsense and her mum knows fine well there is nothing wrong but once the school phone she has to go in for her

TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2010 12:11

Excellent news Lucky. So has your DH started thinking of expanding??

Sazzles I have ponytail holders everywhere. I admit I held off my puke part until DH got home. Reminded me of my pregnancy days. R hasn't puked since about 1p yesterday. DD1 puked about 7p last night and I think I puked last about 7p too. We are all still dealing with the secondary symptom now. I assume that once all contents of body are removed things will reset. That said, R & I have just finished off some toast. I had a sprite too but she wouldn't touch it. DD1 on the other hand is being quite the drama queen with moans and woooahs. I feel bad for her one way and another I'm like, YOU HAVE TO HELP YOURSELF RECOVER.

Poppy R is doing that too. She has also learned how to remove ALL clothes and we often find her happily without a stitch. As I said before we are doing the intro stage to potty training. She loves sitting on the potty but tinkling in it is random.
