Yes tea, what Pat said... I don't think I even said a proper hello to you so apologies - I am one of those posters who pops by every 2-3 days, skims the thread and then rants about me me me ... everyone else is much nicer . Anyway, by way of introduction, I have one DS who is (obviously) 14 months, a DH who I didn't even know three years ago , and I gave up life as a career girl in London to move to Wales and bring up bab(ies?)... So it's all been a massive life change for me ... this thread keeps me sane.

Really sorry to hear about your marriage - I have been there myself, so I know how hard it is to face the end of something you were once so committed to. But can only imagine how much harder it is with babies involved . Second pat on the chocolate, and we are always up for a big glass of red wine on this thread, so passing one your way...

Thanks for all the advice re gunky eye - will get squirting - he slept until midnight and then woke up screaming, have given calpol, but he wouldn't go back to sleep, so is now up running around the sofas with DH

120 hope the glass of wine went down well....

OMG! I just finished some marathon reading! All I've retained is... nothing. lol.
Get well moose
Welcome aboard TeaandCakes
Congrats HKZ... very exciting.

um... sorry if I missed anyone.

I have finally convinced DH that it is better to buy a brand new car then a used one so after shopping around, we have settled on a Toyota Corolla 2010! Yeah. We are driving an '88 Corolla right now...lol. We are going to see about getting it next week. So looking forward to driving a new car.

Have a great Sunday ladies.

Thank you ladies.

DOG - I like hearing about baby news I loved feeling those flutterings inside. Not boring to me. Actually jealous, as I'm broody for a 3rd. But obviously no chance with my hubby and I separated. Still I'm only 31 maybe if my hubby finally makes a decision, I can either work on our marriage or find another man? As if one would take me on with two kids....

Morning oops Afternoon (just noticed the time)

We are continuing to have fun here - not.

Started feeling rough on Friday afternoon and kept berating myself for being crap/lazy and not getting everything ready for our double party day on Saturday. Had to stand and bake all evening to get the cakes dh had promised them read and felt worse and worse as the night went on. Sick, dizzy, backache and abdo pain. Finally went to the toilet just before bed only to find I was passing blood!

Dosed myself up with ibuprofen and paracetamol put a jug of water in the fridge for more drinks overnight and took a glass up with me, then crawled off to bed, but text Mum to ask if she's take me to the out of hours doc in the morning.

Sooo, woke in the night in a lot of pain, temperature etc got up early spoke to the triage doc who said to come straight down there.

and .. I have a flipping kidney infection! Aaaargh! When will it ever end? Actually its my own fault as I was having niggly signs of a uti for a couple of weeks and just kept telling myself if I drank lots and went to the toilet regularly I'd be fine - apparently I was wrong.

It feels horrible, best way I can describe it is like a back labour with lots of cramping in my lower back and abdomen, plus a fair amount of nausea.

Didn't want to spoil anyones day, so still got everyone sorted and went to the parties. Boys had a fantastic time so it was worth going. But between the parties we couldn't find anywhere to go and get some food. Went to find a pub with some of our closest friends only to find they are all closed till 6 o'clock (weird). Ended up getting soaked to the skin three times in half an hour (cue lovely frizzy curly fringe) traipsing round from carparks to locked doors and I didn't have a coat with me.

Finally found a really nice little pub with lovely 'alternative' type people managing it and they couldn't have done more to be accomodating. The pub was pretty small and there were 4 adults and 5 chidren in our group. They also had a lovely real fire on the go so we stayed and had a really nice meal and some drinks before heading back to the second party (a bit late ) which was being held in a cold, draughty and pretty uncomfortable community centre. Managed to hang in there until 9.00 when the bouncy castle was dismantled and the boys were ready to drop and then made our excuses and drove the hour and a half home before collapsing on the sofa feeling too poorly to go upstairs to bed.

Upshot of it is that I am much worse today and stuck in bed on my own - again! I also seem to be having a reaction to the antibiotics and am covered in a pinpricky itchy rash which just adds to the overall glamorous look of someone who is very green and has such big black bags on her eyes that she looks like she has been punched in the face - lovely.

Sorry to come on and grump, am just feeling very sorry for myself today.

Oh - fringe is generally ok now I have got used to it, and it hides my wrinkles, which is a distinct bonus.

Tea - you are by no means an imposter, I was just thinking how you have fitted in beautifully straight away. Sorry to hear about your relationship problems, feel free to rant/vent etc on here, we're pretty good listeners y'know.

teaandcakeplease · 21/03/2010 14:02

Moosemama! You need to rest! Crazy lady charging about even after diagnosed with infection.

Pub sounded lovely and well earned after being rained on 3 times!

Hope you're still resting, is your hubby about to take some strain today?

chefswife · 21/03/2010 17:50

moose Girl, you can trudge along... it makes me feel like a wimp... Hope it doesn't take too long to sort the kidney infection. I've never had one, but it sounds painful.

Dog Baby talk please!!! I love hearing about it too. We have stopped trying for March and April; I don't want another Christmas baby. Dinner with DH; lovely. I would love dinner with hubby alone, but we just can't seem to get our shit together to sort a babysitter. I've been a bit lazy in that department. I have found someone, but haven't yet had her over to see if DD will be good with her on her own. I'm sure it'll be fine, just need to do it.

Speaking of baby's, at my monthly SuperFlyMums dinner last week, another one is pregnant with their second! They're all dropping off like flies.lol. There is only 3 of us out of 12 left and one of them may be tentative. I said to DH that it was all exciting to me because they'll all soon be back on maternity leave again... I'm the only one that works from home. We are thinking of putting DD in daycare one day a week so she can socialize without me; I think she would really benefit from the experience. She spends too much time with just me.

Well, its going to be a lazy Sunday for me and DD. I have no desire to do anything. Going to the playground everyday is doing me in... where does DD get the energy?!

chefswife · 21/03/2010 18:16

OMG! DD just went down for her morning nap without pining for boob! She goes down without boob when it is just her and DH, but if I'm around, there's a lot of pining. Is this a new stage for us? Would be nice to hang up the nursing bra!

chefswife · 22/03/2010 03:50

Well, it was a lazy Sunday. It never rained, like I hoped, but I did sweet bugger all. DD and I laid around on the couch reading, playing and watching movies. It was lovely.

Good Monday Morning All.

teaandcakeplease · 22/03/2010 07:56

Morning chef! Sounds like my kind of Sunday

tinkstoddleriswalking · 22/03/2010 12:01

chefswife · 22/03/2010 19:08

Good Evening Ladies. A whole Monday has gone by and only two posts! Shocking! Well, at least its easy for me to keep up.

I've been back running for 5 months now and will be doing my first 10km marathon run at the end of April. This morning I ran 7.25km in 43min, straight out! This smiley face represents the crazed grin I sported when I got off the treadmill. lol

moosemama · 22/03/2010 19:35

Evening,

Still grotty here, flippin' antibiotics have really hit me hard, fell asleep straight after I posted yesterday and didn't wake up until 6.30! Had Mum here to help and fetch the boys from school today and am feeling a little bit better now, but mainly I think, because I'm due another pill so the nasty effects of the last one have worn off. I will probably fall asleep again as soon as I've taken it, so don't be surprised if I don't come back.

Very of your running Chef. I've been trying to get back to walking 5 miles a day and have barely managed to get out the house due to varying days of either sick kids or sick me or both! I am determined to do it though, as soon as I get over this latest affliction.

We have just booked to go to the Bearded Theory Festival in May with all our old crowd for my big 40 birthday (which isn't actually until June). Really looking forward to it, as there are loads of bands on that used to do the festy circuit when we were whippersnappers!

We're going without the boys, but taking dd as I felt 2 or possibly 3 nights was too long to leave her for. My sister is going to stay at our house and look after the boys and dogs for us. They will be so excited when they find out their favourite cousin is coming for a weekend sleepover.

So I need to get fit quick, as I will be carrying dd in the sling a lot, although we will take the Karrimor as well as dh doesn't like the sling. Actually was thinking of investing in something a bit more manageable than a wrap sling, a mei tai type maybe - any suggestions?

teaandcakeplease · 22/03/2010 19:45

I have one of these, school down to big picture of 2 women.

It can go on your back, side or front. My little man whose a big chap loves it in there and can stay in it for hours and hours and it distributed his weight so well that I never get sore shoulders, back etc.

But I am not expert on baby wearing

Sorry you're still feeling rubbish, your 40th festival fun sounds great!

My B'day is June as well, but I'm 8 years younger.

Sorry typos

missjackson · 22/03/2010 20:07

Yey for ergos - lenni and me are both ergo fans too, tea, so MM you would be in good company - they are a bit pricey but good investment - I think Lenni still carries DD in it now and then. Festival sounds like fun.

Running sounds knackering and impressive.

N still sick, but finally ate some spag bol this evening, so I think we've turned the corner.

We are all eagerly awaiting news of BIL's imminent pfb arrival... due date wednesday - will be a third cousin for N.

LOL books, you should try teaching Science...............I get it all day every day at work, and then at home! Honestly I have spouted some complete shit at times just to shut them up

teaandcakeplease · 22/03/2010 22:21

I love Slimbridge! Went as a child, really want to take my DD soon, but its a bit of a drive from mine

I'm ok. DH came over this afternoon and we all had a nice time. Just wish he could get his head together and make a decision.

My MIL bought the ergo for me in Zurich, I've only seen one other person in the UK with one in the 2 odd years I've had it. And now all you lovely people have one! How funny. My DD does still sometimes go in it instead of my son, as she likes it too!

Yay for Ergos!

My son has finally got his appetite fully back and is eating like a pig again, he out eats his older sister by miles! Lovely size though, he's perfect size wise, so he obviously just needs the food. Not bad for a 14 month old.

Time to hit the sack, resisted temptation to watch both episodes of Flashfoward tonight, recording the second one. I love this series. Sad woman I know...

moosemama · 22/03/2010 22:23

Oh Books, I totally get where you are coming from. I think every Mum on the planet dreads the 'why, why, why' stage.

I think most children grow out of it pretty much, except my ds1 that is. He asks near constant why questions by making a statement and then saying 'isn't it', which is just as annoying, if not moreso, especially as he won't be told if he's got it wrong.

Dd has her own version, even at her tender age with 'what's that' or 'ot dat' as she puts it, whilst pointing at one thing after another, after another ad nauseum.

My winning formula is to say "Oh, I don't know sweetheart, but I bet Daddy does, he's knows all about that kind of thing, why don't you ask him?" He! He! He!

teaandcakeplease · 22/03/2010 22:30

LOL Moose at saying ask Daddy!

moosemama · 22/03/2010 22:31

Thanks for all the advice by the way. I will go with the consensus and look for an Ergo we can afford. I can feel a mega web search coming on, as I wasn't really intending on spending that much, but would rather buy something that will last through the toddler years, than a cheaper one that only lasts a few months/a year.

Glad ds is better and has his appetite back Tea. Dd is also eating like a right piggy and sleeping a lot more than usual, so am thinking perhaps a growth spurt is on the cards. She's tiny though as only on the 9th centile and still in 6-9 month clothes.

Pat, ds sounds so sweet following the ducks and saying quack quack. A local farm is having chick hatching days over Easter and Mum and I really want to take the dc's to it. Can't wait to see dd's reaction.

Tink - where does your dd have an egg incubator? Is it at school? I bet she loved seeing the new duckling.

moosemama · 22/03/2010 22:34

He! He! I also do that when then have a problem with the pc. I am perfectly capable of sorting it out myself, but have cultivated the image of a hopelessly technophobic Mummy. So much so that they don't even ask for my help any more and just wail "Dadddeeeee!" as soon as they hear his key in the lock. I am sooo mean!
