Ok so a pretty boring thread title but thought we needed some distance from the last one!

Morning ladies

Inzi - Ah glad you got liquid iron, should be better for you as you day. Good tip from NC about the orange juice too, i'd forgotten that.

Yeah, my parents are unbelievable but i'm just not going to stand for it!

Breastfeeding kinda sorted. I'm still too to bf in public properly, I'll feed him sat in the car if we're out and about or in the 'feeding/changing' room in boots... I just feel a bit scared people will stare and comment if I do and i'll get all embarassed even though i'm totally for bfing whereever you like it's not so easy when I have to do it myself. I've gotten in to the habbit at pils of nipping off to the spare room to feed him as that's what I did with Dylan and now i'm kinda stuck doing that. Fil has some old fashioned views about it which makes me feel a bit awkward. He's totally for it but says things like, 'when ladies used to bf when I was younger it was the done thing for the men to leave the room' and 'well we would all go for a meal but you can't really come cause you can hardly just wap it out at the table can you?'. At that last one dh piped up 'well she can' then fil said, well yeah she can but... and then didn't really have an answer

I do want to feel like when I visit people or they visit me I can just do it when i'm sat cause i'm sick of scurrying off . I feel a bit like I might flash too much boob cause I have quite a fast let down and sometimes Miles comes off for a minute after the initial latch and the milk sprays out like a watering can , not sure the public is ready for that?! I'm planning on bfing when and where I like at the bbq as you ladies are a bunch of people i'd feel most comfortable around.

Physically it doesn't really hurt anymore apart from that I have a crack still on one side that occasionally gets sore if he gets a bad latch. I saw the doc to ask if antibiotics would help it heal (read on mn they might) and she just said no basically so back to lansinoh.

NC - Not really got a plan about them finding out about Miles, i'm not going to worry about it though as if they do find out it still means no contact so they'll just have to deal with it. If they get worse i'll just get them warned under the harassment act.

Aww at you being broody, would you believe I am too , I know, I've just had one . Why does your head say no?

Mr greedy wants a feed, back soon x

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 05/06/2010 15:03

Inzi - awww at Jane being spooked by a donkey. Good news that at least you know there's a reason for your symptoms, hopefully the liquid iron will agree with you. Shower doesn't wake Anya at all as it turns out, so don't have to rearrange everything - phew!

Dal - cannot believe your parents sent you a birthday card, after everything! I think you're absolutely right to call the police - your parents have to know that no contact means no contact. Lol at your dh telling his dad you could 'wap it out' in a restaurant - good for him! I used to have the same problem with milk going everywhere during the short time I bf - I did the same as you and either found somewhere private or had a ff ready instead. In the end Anya gave up first and refused to cope with such a fast milk supply! It sounds like you are doing much better with Miles though - glad the soreness has just about gone.

NC - understand you not wanting to move because of dd1. Hope the broody feelings pass too.

I've had friends round this morning with their 3 kids - a total surprise, they phoned mid-morning as they were passing Manchester on the way back down south after a wedding. We had a lovely lunch, and their middle daughter is 4 and gets on with Anya like a house on fire - they were chatting away - I've never seen Anya have such a prolonged conversation with another child.

Have a good weekend everybody
x

chocolatestar · 07/06/2010 07:35

Sorry am MIA right now, feeling sick all the time and finding it hard, especially at work. Dr tomorrow finally.

Hope you feel better once you start taking Iron Inzi.

Well done on the feeding Dal. I was shy to start with about public feeding but I got fed up of scurrying off all the time. Once it settles down a bit it gets easier to do it out and about I found.

NC no it is worse than the twilight thing. It is the biggest load of rubbish and a total rip off of twilight and true blood. It is proper trash tv and it is totally what I need at the end of the day! As long as they don't take away Glee I will be fine!

babyblue4 · 08/06/2010 19:17

Hello all! Back from sunny Las Vegas where it was 42 degrees and home to an unseasonably cold 12 degrees. Brrrr!!! What the hell kind of weather are we having!

Anyway... had a lovely time. We gambled a bit (lost), shopped (a lot!), gorged myself on yummy food (gained 3lbs in 4 days), and caught a wonderfully naughty Cirque du Soleil show called Zumanity. Everything was perfect! Arrived in Toronto at 6:30am, home by 9am and asleep shortly after with babies playing around me! LOL. Barely got anything done yesterday. DH was a sweetheart and unpacked the bags while I caught up on my beauty sleep! Loving my new Coach purse and my Pandora charm bracelette!

Back to reality....

Dal I am dumbfounded that your parents are STILL bothering you! That was quite sneaky of them to send you that card. Hopefully the Police will do something about it involving more than a reprimand. I didnt realize they knew nothing about Miles. Hopefully it stays that way! Glad the BF is going better. It took me a while to get used to doing it in public, but I am a pro now. I can manage with or without help. I feel much better when using my cover-up, but have also used my sweater/jacket in a pinch. At some point you will just stop caring who looks at you funny... although I still go into another room in front of family or guests (more for their benefit than mine).

Choc How did your doc appointment go. Hopefully you start to feel better soon!

Inzi Hopefully the iron will help. I was anemic in my teens and had to take the beastly stuff, but what a difference! I can imagine that the feeling is amplified whilst pregnant. OH... and PMSL at the donkey story . Enjoyed that!!

NC How is the job situation with DH? Its frustrating when you dont hear something back quickly. I dont think I got the position I interviewd for, seeing as I havent got a phone call or email or nothing. I wish they would call me either way, so that I could be put out of my misery once and for all!! Besides... I then have to come up with plan B which will involve spending half my pay on daycare for 2 babies, as well as finding someone to pick them up 5 days a month when I work late. Less money brought in also means none for a housekeeper that I was hoping to come in a couple of times a month to clean. Sigh... Life goes on I guess So exciting about you and Rich moving in together though... Have you set a date for the move?

Anyway... gotta run. Vacation washing needs to get done, and I have managed to get both babies down for nap at the same time. Next week starts potty training for Sofia. Today we watched "Elmo Goes Potty" DVD and she only seemed slightly interested even though Elmo is her fave. I have a feeling my washing machine will be in overdrive next week!!

LisaLessLumpy · 08/06/2010 19:59

chocolatestar - I love the Vampire Diaries too

Hope the sicknes doesn't last too much longer

Dal - Anything else happened on the parent front, have the police contacted them? They are persistant aren't they!

babyblue - your Vegas trip sounds fab, I desperately want to go, DH said he will take me one day

Hello to everyone else, sorry for being so slack on the keeping up front

strawberrylace · 08/06/2010 21:02

hello ladies
just quickly stopping by to say hello to everyone - on my way to bed as extremely tired. Definitely not feeling at the blooming stage of pregnancy yet!

Lots of work stuff on - my big project has at last gone to print, so I can turn my attentions to the others waiting in the wings: staff magazine to edit, website text & leaflet to write, plus our team has been reviewed and we are going to have to apply for jobs in the new structure, and have a new interim head starting soon - all of which are filling me with dread a bit, as i don't know what will actually get sorted before I go on maternity leave, and then who knows what I will come back to?

Had my appointment with the consultant at the hospital today. All seemed ok, but will have to have monthly growth scans towards the end to check on progress, and likely that I will end up having an elective cesarian at around 38 weeks if nothing happens before. Did hear two heartbeats today though, so that was nice.

Babyblue - I am so jealous of your trip to Vegas - I love america and am desperate to go again, especially as our best friends moved to new york earlier this year. However, the forthcoming spudlets have put paid to those dreams for a while
Dal - hope that the police have had a good talk with your parents again, how very frustrating for you to have been contacted once again
Choc - hope you get over the sickness ASAP...
Inzi/WWAJC/NC/LLL and everyone - hello, hello, hello

right off to bed now and it's only 9pm! I am so sad

chocolatestar · 08/06/2010 21:13

Babyblue! That show looks amazing! I would love to see them.

Never made it to the Dr as I had to go to an emergency appointment on Monday, ended up at the hospital for a checkover due to tummy pains. They didn't keep me in though which is good. Stayed in bed all day today and it all seems to have calmed down thankfully. Getting a scan tomorrow though so hopefully all is well.

Lisa - glad I am not the only one watching that! Such rubbish but fun. Glee ends next week so that's no Glee, Vampire Diaries or Lost to entertain me.

Strawberry - I am in bed by nine every night at the moment! Just about to head off there myself despite sleeping all day long!

chocolatestar · 08/06/2010 21:16

I want to train as an acrobat now. Watching that makes me feel like a talentless blob.

babyblue4 · 08/06/2010 23:51

So there I was, eating chocolate minding my own business when I get a picture text from umnknown person. I delete it fearing virus or some nonesense. My sis calls me 2 minutes later having got the same text herself. Her phone is better than mine, so the pic msg comes across as a photo instead of a link to one. Anyway... turns out it was from my Dad. It said "Look what we did!!" and was a pic of a wedding chapel!!!! My Dad and his squeeze eloped to Niagara Falls today!!! I was in shock!! My sis and I conference called him in shock!! LOL. We are happy since they are wonderful together... just very surprised since there was never any mention of marriage. After 30 years of separation, my parents up and divorced a few months ago. My sis and I were placing bets on who was getting married. We both lost!!! . Anyway... just had to share that... lol... since I am still dumb-struck!

babyblue4 · 08/06/2010 23:54

Strawberry Make sure you come visit if you ever make it across the pond again ... spudlets and all

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 09/06/2010 21:35

BB4 - sounds like you had a wonderful time in Vegas . Shame about the job - something else will come along soon I'm sure. at your dad eloping to get married - how romantic! Not surprised you're shocked!

Strawberry - sounds like you're snowed under at work - how long are you taking for maternity leave? Awww at hearing 2 heartbeats at the scan, how amazing.

Choc - how did your scan go?

Nothing much going on here - I was meaning to have an early night too but it's not happening. Although maybe it would help if I wasn't on here . Night all x

chocolatestar · 09/06/2010 22:15

Scan was fine Went back to work and decided to tell those in my faculty. One had already guessed and everyone was very nice. Easier now they know.

Babyblue!! Bloody hell! That would have been a shock but what a cool thing to do.

It's past ten so late for me tonight! Roll on the weekend. All I want to do is sleeeeep!

babyblue4 · 10/06/2010 16:31

So I decided to officially start potty training Sofia next week, but in the meantime, have started putting her on her potty seat whenever I have a chance. She wasnt keen on the actual potty, but loves the potty seat insert for the toilet, so we are going with that (I have many hand-me-down potties to choose from as apparently my neice and nephew needed one for every room of the house! ). Anyway... this morning after her bath, she was running around holding on 'down there' so I asked if she wanted to go. I put her on the adult toilet (minus the potty ring since it was in the downstairs loo) and she did nothing. Instead, she started screaming for her potty seat and pitching a fit when we tried to get her dressed. So I finally went downstairs, got the potty ring, brought it up and put her on it. She immediately went!! I cant believe she knew to hold it until she got her way!! Hopefully its a good sign that the training will go quick!! Keep your fingers crossed for me! I cant wait to only have one baby in diapers!

Anyway... will post again later. The two of them are fighting over a truck right now... sigh...

Dalrymps · 11/06/2010 00:34

Just popping in to say choc - glad the scan went ok must have been nice to see the baby! Did they say how far along you are?

Just finished packing for Cornwall/Peterborough, knackered! Off to bed now, 'see' you all when we get back (fathers day)

chocolatestar · 12/06/2010 10:22

She thought about seven weeks. Where in Cornwall are you going? It is beautiful down there. Have lots of cream teas!

Ended up having to come home yesterday. Dareh has treated me today though as he is still sleeping!

I really hate this stage. Hate eating crap because it's the only way to settle my tummy and hate not being able to do any exercise either.

Babyblue, well done to Sofia! Not started with Dareh yet. I have read that some toddlers are scared of the big toilet incase they fall in it. I am going to wait until I am on holiday in a couple of weeks time to give it a go.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 12/06/2010 11:39

Choc - so glad your scan went well and that things are ok at work. Hope you manage to get some rest this weekend.

BB4 - well done Sofia for being able to hold her wee like that - it sounds like she's ready, so good luck next week! I hope it all goes smoothly with no accidents.

Dal - have a lovely time in Cornwall.

must go and wake Dh now but will get back tonight

xxxxxx

FloriaTosca · 14/06/2010 09:23

OMG That catching up took ages...and yet again one of my posts went missing because I remember posting to congratulate Choc and saying that I had nearly said something about "are you sure you aren't pg" on FB when you said how tired you were. I'm so glad the scan went well but sorry about the ms and hope it dissipates soon so you can make it to the BBQ after all [fingers crossed emoticon]
Inzi I'm so glad your Dad is doing so well, such a relief...bravo to your Mum too for staying so strong.lol at the donkey incident I'm truly you can't make it to the bbq too ...just I wish I could send a car to pick you and Choc up.
Dal Your parents never cease to amaze me with their inability to accept your wishes. I hope you are having a fab time in Cornwall with your brother and best friend.
lll congratulations on becoming an auntie..lovely names. Count me in at the house warming next year
BB4 I was very of your trip to Vegas but not so envious of the washing you returned to Fabulous positive signs from Sophia re potty training, I hope it goes really easily. Sorry the job didnt go your way but I'm sure something even better will turn up soon. What wonderful news about your Dad and his new wife...congratulations to them!
WWAJC, Great that the film is working so well on the windows..money and time well spent. How lovely that Anya loves her new room (and isnt disturbed by the shower)
strawberry sorry everything is in turmoil at work..I hope it all works to your advantage in the long run...it must be very stressful and doubly tiring in your condition. Fingers crossed you get a double dose of the 'blooming' stage soon
NC I hope Rich gets his dissertation done soon...exciting that you are planning moving in together

I was going to do some 'me' posting but have to get alex to tea'n toys...I'll try to get back later.(serves me right for being awol so long)

babyblue4 · 14/06/2010 19:11

So potty training has started. Sofia went once already. She seems to have the ability to hold it, so its just a matter of getting her to tell me when she needs to go. Hopefully not too many accidents, especially since I have Marco toddling around the room as well!

Job is a definite no. Talked to a friend who knows the names of the people hired. Turns out they only hired 3 instead of the 8 I had heard. Makes me feel better in a small way. She also said they would be hiring 6 more in October, so I will try again. Hopefully in the mean time I can take a couple of courses to better market myself. At least now I will know what to expect with the interview process.

Inzi - glad all went well with your Dad. Hopefully he continues to get stronger and things will get easier for him and your mum. How are you feeling? How many weeks are you now? Your pregnancy seems to be going by so fast! LOL. I wish mine would have done that sometimes!! They seemed to draaaaag!

I have to say... am very of those of you getting together for the BBQ!! Wish I could come too

Strawberry - how are you managing? Hopefully everything is going well and no MS!

Dal - how is Miles doing? Any more word from your parents or from the police? Hopefully not!

Choc - glad your scan went fine and that the cat is out of the bag at work. It makes it so much easier to be sick when you dont have to put on a happy face to avoid giving away your secret! I told my bosses as soon as I knew as well. Hope you are feeling better now too.

Floria - playing catch up is the worst!! LOL. How have you been? What is Alex up to?

Off to have lunch. Both babies asleep and I have laundry to do as well (what else is new!). Still recovering after DD1s weekend birthday sleepover. The girls were up ALL night, so I slept very little as well. It was a success, so thats all that matters. Will post pics on FB of my culinary masterpieces!! LOL

Hello to all I missed... xxx

chocolatestar · 15/06/2010 07:39

Great news about your Dad Inzi! That must be a relief for you all.

Sorry about the job babyblue, the right thing will come alone. It took me ages to get the job I have now but I am so glad it is this job as it is the right one for me. Not easy when you are still waiting though.

2 weeks to go at school - can't wait!

NeedCoffee · 15/06/2010 12:01

Hi Ladies!

Just posting so I don't lose you, I have an exam tonight and another Fri so will probably be around after then(if I pass)

I am reading all the posts but it is so difficult to load this page up for some reason..hopefully it will be better when we get a new thread.

Love to all xx

muppetgirl · 15/06/2010 15:41

hi guys!

sorry it's been so long, I've been knackered, stressed, ill and lazy but hopefully back onto an even keel now

Toby is finally sleeping through, been a few weeks now so I feel I can say it out loud. Henry has taken over on the not sleeping front screaming in the night for no apparent reason. We had him in our bed for a few nights but you don't get much sleep as he kicks/punches you so you're awake ALL night. I think he's got a slight virus, lots of chicken pox going round but he's not broken out in spots.

I got to that point where I really thought I would never have another full nights sleep again and it started to get me down, I wasn't managing the children or the house but things are looking up and I'm feeling much more positive.

Henry is toilet (wees) trained, it didn't take long which was lucky. He took to it like a duck to water after the first day of weeing everywhere. I think it helped him being at nursery as he saw his friends go and he just follwed suit. The poos on the other hand are nowhere near there and he still poos his pants. Doesn't really bother him typical boy! His speech has come on leaps and bounds and he now doesn't shoosh especailly when he knows you are a captive audience in the car! I am still a bit concerned with his running and his feet seem to be formed differently from Oliver's as his heel is very pronounced. He does run but not easily not sure what to do, if anything really, about it.

Various weddings coming up including dh's sister who announced she was pregnant a couple of weeks ago -great!- and that she was also getting married -great!- but the day before my cousins's wedding in Scotland that has been organised since last year and that I was wanting to take all the boys to as my family haven't met the boys....Ollie's coming with us but Hen + Toby are staying with dh's parents as we don;t think they can do Llandudno on the fri then Scotland -melrose on the sat. I am fuming as she knew we were off to the wedding yet still organised it the day before. Still what should I expect?

Garden is done and I really feel I am getting more settled in this house - it's been 5 years in coming!! Just to have the boys killing each other on the lawn is a huge relief to be able to have them outside.

Decorating next starting next week.

Will read back a bit, Inzi really glad your dad is on the mend xx

babyblue4 · 15/06/2010 18:42

Hi muppet Nice to hear that you are doing well. Isnt it nice when you can finally get some sleep? I am in the same boat with Marco. He is finally sleeping through! Usually gets up at 6:30am and is in bed by 9pm. I will take it! Out of my 4 DCs, he is the only one that didnt sleep through the night by 7 weeks. Oh well... Good for Henry that he is mostly potty trained. I had the same issue with DS1. He trained with wees in a day. Poo on the other hand was much more difficult. It took almost a year! He refused to go. Not in a potty, not on the toilet, not even in a diaper. He held it til he couldnt hold it anymore. He would dance around screaming that his 'bum hurt'. I finally bribed him with Hot Wheels cars. I am hoping Sofia will be easier. Today is day 2 an we have had our first accident. Didnt look like she enjoyed it too much, so I am keeping fingers crossed that she learns. I have a funny feeling she is holding it instead of going though... sigh...

Went into work today for debriefing on the interview. My boss said I interviewed better than I thought. He went over the questions again, went over how I answered and what they wanted to hear, and told me that I was brave to interview considering I havent worked for 4 years (that was meant as compliment). My lack of recent experience really hurt me, along with the fact that it was 15 people applying for 3 spots. Oh well... it was good to hear, and I think I learned a lot, so hopefully it goes better next time. He did tell me that my chances for getting the other position I want, are also very low . We will see! LOL. I have a month or so of being back at work to prove myself before the interviews start. If I dont get it... I will plug on.

Anyway... off to have lunch and clean up the sofa that Sofia decided to pee on!

babyblue4 · 16/06/2010 17:44

Potty update - After 2 accidents on the sofa yesterday and Sofia holding it most of the day, I think we finally have a breakthrough today. Have switched from a potty ring, to a potty seat, and I leave her on it while she watches TV. She has gone two pees like this. The poo, however, ended up in her underwear while she hid in the corner. Sigh... it can only get better right??

I guess I will have to put her in a pull-up over the weekend since we have a couple of functions to attend, and I want to take the kids to see Toy Story 3 in the theatres. Saturday I have a baby shower, and Sunday is Father's Day so my mum is having a BBQ. The weather is supposed to be really nice, so I am looking forward to it!
