Ok so a pretty boring thread title but thought we needed some distance from the last one!

sorry!!

LisaLessLumpy · 22/01/2010 21:12

Not sure whether my last big post in the other topic was read or not, due to all the crap that went on at the end, so I am re-posting it here. Apologies if everyone did read it it, its just that for the first time in a while I took my time to type it, so don't want it missed

[posted earlier today :-) ]

Oh my word, I have one busy day and an evening out and the topic goes mad Its taken me ages to read everything

Dal - Hope your FiL is back home again soon, and its good that they took him back in for tests due to his recent illness, you can't be too careful. Also I think its Fab that Alice is there for you too, helping out with news etc, it must be a great comfort.

WWAJC - The house looks lovely, you and Anya should have a fab time there with none of the stress from your DH, I think you are definitely doing the right thing in getting out. Life is far too short to be unhappy.

Muppet - well done in getting back to the running, I need to get myself back in the habit of exercise. I did so well before xmas losing my weight for the black tie do I went to, sadly I ruined all the hard work immediately afterwards and have put half a stone back on so this week I have been good again, and already feel better for it.

I bought the book by Anna Richardson who has that TV show and the recipes in it are fab. I am Day 5 in of no alcohol, no carbs after 6pm, nothing sweet etc but the recipes are all really simple and very tasty, even DH has eaten his dinner the past few nights and said how tasty they have been. Its this book and I really recommend it.

FT - Operation no boobies hope it continues to go well for you, it sounds like its getting better.

Inzi - I hope this morning sickness passes soon for you

NC - My DH suffers from an ulcer periodically, especially when he is stressed and drinking too much, and he had Omeprazole (sp?) that Alicet mentioned from the doctor and it works wonders for him. Hope you get less stressed soon, and I just want to say again, that I really admire you for studying again with two children, I just couldn't do it. So just keep telling yourself that you are doing a fab job under difficult circumstances and you should be proud of yourself

Strawberry - regards Call of Duty! I know what you mean, my DH is on it all the time too, but I can't really complain as I am addicted to Scrabble on FB

My brain has now dribbled out of my ears i can't remember what else I should comment on, I hope I haven't missed out on anything too serious, but thinking of you all, all the same

One brief funny thing that happened this morning, at about 6.30, Ben silently came into the bedroom and stood in the doorway, I groggily told him to go and play in his room for a bit till I woke up properly, he stood there a minute more, did a huge fart, and then very clearly said 'pardon me' and then walked out what a fab way to be woken up still chuckling now.

Hope you all have a fab day

Dalrymps · 22/01/2010 21:13

Thats ok, i'm pretty sure I get the names muddled up on a regular basis... hell, I can't even put my clothes on the right way

Dalrymps · 22/01/2010 21:14

LLL - PMSL at Ben's fart good that he said pardon too!

Fil is back home now thanks

LisaLessLumpy · 22/01/2010 21:18

We had a quick prawn balti for tea, out of my new book, very yummy No alcohol for me though, for at least another week but then again my desire to lose some weight outweighs the need for a drink

Muppet - glad nursery is going well for Tobes, I am lucky that my two get on well with anyone too. As long as they are played with, they'll be happy. Ooer missus, sounds so wrong that but you know what I mean.

Regarding those two boys, yes they have had a shit upbringing, but by god they must still be animals to do what they did to those two boys. I was in tears the other night whilst watching the news about it

Strawberry - an evening to yourself... a good book and a relax in front of the TV is top of my list. I am watching SLumdog Millionaire again, a truly fab film.

NeedCoffee · 22/01/2010 21:22

LLL-Sorry, you're right, I did read it but didn't respond, thought I'd got away with it too Thank you for the vote of confidence PMSL at Ben farting in your room. Shannon was sat in the middle of the floor at my Dads at christmas and let a massive one off, then laughed cos we all did.

Dal-yes really, its called 'crumbly sticky banoffee pie', the shame is I don't like bananas, but I'll eat round them

Still not got film on, Rich is looking for a phone as he lost his when he was pissed and also having a disagreement, so he said fine, ask the mums then-so I will-Does semen have a smell?

My sense of smell is horific atm, I could smell smoke in a 3rd floor classroom today because one window was open-everything makes me feel sick.

RE-The ulcer, I really don't want to go to have any exploratory stuff done so avoiding going to GP. Its not as bad as it was a few years ago, just feel constantly sick (with you Inzi!) and a very bloated stomach, even did a pg test even though it would have to be an immaculate conception! (sorry if TMI, getting a sugar rush from the pie)

strawberrylace · 22/01/2010 21:28

just eaten the rest of a tub of ben & jerry's choc brownie frozen yoghurt, watching tv that dh would hate, going to bed to read in a min with a hot water bottle and extra duvet - rsult!

nc - yes i do think semen smells... (is that the right answer, cos i'd hate to think i wadn't helping you win the argument!!

Dalrymps · 22/01/2010 21:30

LLL - Ooh prawn balti, very nice, although sometimes i'm a bit funny about prawns so might have to subtitute them for chicken

NC - If you struggle with the pie just let me know and i'll help out

Actually i'm stuffed, just had a creme egg and now have indigestion!

I was gonna say you totally sounds pg from your symptoms but if you've done a test that's a bit of a mystery.

I can understand you not wanting to be 'explored' by the doc but remember they can't force you to have anything done you don't want done. Maybe it'd be at least worth checking out whether you can get those medicines over the counter that alicet mentioned.

I have honestly never noticed whether semen has a smell ... hang on will ask dh... He says it doesn't smelll when fresh but if old it smells awful. He also says that it smelling is not always a good sign but it can be affected by what you eat.

Wow never knew he knew so much on the subject LOL

Dalrymps · 22/01/2010 21:32

Strawberry - Your evening sounds devine, much like mine last night but I had no Ben and Jerrys!

muppetgirl · 22/01/2010 21:33

i think semen smell salty, proteiny like when your waters break.

(what am I talking about????)

LLL - love the farty boy!

muppetgirl · 22/01/2010 21:44

Floria - are you watching 'Popstar to Opera star?'

FloriaTosca · 22/01/2010 21:53

Lots of lovely food going around on this thread tonight...mmmmm...our goulash was rather good but I'm drooling over Alices' lamb shanks. lol at NCs' Rich still talking about my quiche..if he liked that he should try my Mums.. she really is a good cook.

crochet; sorry your day has been horrid...I hope your fb wish of a lottery win comes true (so long as I get can have next big win)and I hope you have a lovely wekend to make up for it.

LLL;lol at your lad farting...sadly Alex has been taught by his father that a "flabby woof-woof" is funny so would never be so polite as to say pardon. Your recipie book sounds inspirational...I think I might invest too. Bravo you for resisting the lure of the vino...I blush to admit I'm on my 3rd glass of rather nice white so will appologise now if I start to write possed.

Alice; I can understand how the bickering could get on your nerves especially after a long week balancing the demands of work, home and their needs...I hope the wonderful sounding dinner and a nice bottle or so release the tensions and allows you to fully enjoy your boys this weekend

Dh has been up since 4am (our time) to get back from Finland and is sadly flagging...I might be forced to finish his wine for him..ho hum..such are the trials of my life If I dont get back over the weekend have a fab one everyone. xxx

FloriaTosca · 22/01/2010 22:00

oops crossposted a lot..

semen; yup it has a smell...and yup it depends on what the fella has been eating...so dh had better live off fruit and steer clear of beer and curry if he wants any special favours

Muppet; no, no a thousand times nooooo! It is truly the most dreadful programme I have ever seen hightlights of summed up here

muppetgirl · 22/01/2010 22:06

Floria that is a delciously bitchy article!

Agree re Catherine Jenkins though, apparently she's doing an opera this year?

What's your thoughts on CJ?

alicet · 22/01/2010 22:13

Ladies lovely that our thread is back to how i remember it!

dinner was great thanks but dh and I both shattered so off to bed now. hd glss of vino thanks Floria and agree that good wine can make most irritations fade bit!!!

Couldn't go without one comment though... Semen - yup it has a smell! Varies with what is eaten. not a particularly strong smell I would say but def distinctive iykwim!!!!

OK hope you all have a lovely weekend xxx

Well I think "mediocre glamour puss" pretty much sums her up. There are so many beautiful and truly fabulous vocally mega-gifted mezzos in Wales (and the rest of the UK) who are much more worthy of multi million pound record contracts...She is ok, certainly not appalling but not a great voice...but that is prolly sour grapes on my part, as no one has ever paid me 40k for singing nursery rhymes in my native language. [call me pussy cat FT]

herjazz · 22/01/2010 22:23

ello everyone

muppetgirl · 22/01/2010 22:26

Hi Herjazz!

Mine · 22/01/2010 22:39

Hello ladies (waves!)

Its lovely to have a nice fresh new thread.... even though i haven't been on here for a quite some time. I now realised how much i missed all of you!!

Inzi - i didn;t know you were pregnant! Congratulations to you and your husband It sounds as though it has been all a bit bittersweet. I'm sorry to hear about your Grandad. He said some beautiful things. I hope the morning sickness doesn;t last too long though

Dal - i can;t believe you are almost there Can i have some of your stew please....???!!

Strawberry - i sympathise with you on the Toy Story front. I think i know that movie inside out and back to front!!

Eren doesn;t seem to have the patience to sit and read a book together for more than 2 mins..... he just wants to get to the end of the book and slam it shut and declare it 'Finished mummy. Now lets play!'
Although he did pick up the menu from the local chinese takeaway tonight and try to read it.... he said 'Look mummy, Eren have Fish Fin" (aka fish fingers )

Muppet - How do you juggle 4 boys so well ???!! unbelievable

FT - i just watched Popstar to Operastar... i'm ashamed to say i quite liked it ..... although i'm not quite sure why......

Sorry to those that i have missed, i have a memory like a fish sometimes!!
I'll try and get on a bit more often now, but its tough with juggling so much in a day.

Off shopping in Bluewater tomorrow. DH has promised me sushi for lunch (one of my favourite foods)...hhmmmmm

NeedCoffee · 22/01/2010 22:55

Well, we've given up on film, as usual he started falling asleep and has gone to bed, wouldn't mind but it wasn't ecven one I wanted to watch really, Sweeny Todd, was okay but so much singing in it, seemed forever to get anywhere with the story line.

Strawberry-sounds ideal, may do the same tomorrow night. Yes, it was me saying it stinks, not just his, all mens. Alice, yep very distinctive. it's a long standing argument discussion that we have and all his mates (apparantly) say it doesn't, so all of you back my claim up

Dal-Thanks for asking Dh for me You're welcome to the banoffee pie, I just ate the biscuit base as they'd mixed little bits of banana with the toffee so it was ruined I'm only worried about having to have a camera down my throat or through my belly button, makes me cringe. Like I said, was 99.9% sure I couldn't be prg, but by body seems to be playing tricks on me unfortunately. Will keep taking rantidine and see if it goes over w/end, if not will go GP on Mon.

Alice-Wanna swap your 2 boys for my 2 girls for a bit? I can guarantee you'll be begging for them back. Sleep Well.

FT-I'll go to your mums any day for grub! Poor you having to help DH to finish his wine, does he really think you don't do enough!

Herjazz-Am loving the metaphor(is that the right word??) of us being in a nice comfy house chatting

Shannon was so excited today because I bought her the Dora annual, she couldn't have it straight away as it was raining and she wont have a rain cover on, but I think she thought I was saying she couldn't have it at all, and was saying 'oh pleeeeeeease mummy' very cutely, when I showed her it in the carrier and said I'd put it under the pram she was very happy, spent most of the evening reading it and taken it to bed with her

Will go to bed myself now I think.

Night all x

NeedCoffee · 22/01/2010 22:58

Hi Mine, x posted, enjoy your sushi, I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow.

alicet · 23/01/2010 07:32

Morning all!

Herjazz yes it does feel like a nice welcoming house coming here. Might fight you for the beanbag though!!!

Mine lovely to see you again - its been ages! Have a lovely dy nd enjoy the sushi

NC glad we helped you to win the argument

I haven't seen popstar to operastar but it sounds like just the sort of mindless reality tv I love! Been ddicted to mericas next top model reruns on living tv since we got sky+ but we are bck now to ones i have already seen so will have to find something else!

Up at 6.30 with the boys and they're playing really nicely at the moment. Going to try really hard to enjoy them today (and hopefully it won't be that hard if they re on good form). They are lovely most of the time, its just the constant moaning, having to ask them to do things about 50 times before they even register I'm talking to them etc etc that is doing my head in! Think it then becomes vicious circle as I then become short tempered and ranty with them with I am sure doesn't help the moaning! See you later...
