Just popping in to say inzi, so so sorry you're having such an awful time of it. Yuo must be due some good luck now surely. Hope you and Jane and your dad are all on the mend soon and you can relax a bit. Thinking of you, look after yourself.

Glad to hear all is ok with George, must be a weight off your mind. ((more big hugs)) to you.

Damn it, I had said to myself I would catch up today but still haven't managed to fit it in, will soon I promise, I am reading, just not getting time to reply to all in detail.

Thinking of you all x

FloriaTosca · 12/05/2010 10:03

Hello Ladies
I'm just glad to see people pop in to say hi. We are all very busy now, most of us back at work and dealing with demanding toddlers. Personally I don't think it is necessary to acknowledge every single post in detail...just share what is going on in our lives and only get detailed in the important things like poor Chocs sadness and Inzis stressful situation atm etc

Dal you have a toddler and a tiny..I'm amazed you are even finding the time to read let alone post.

NC I'm glad I didnt get one of those pointed looks though I do deserve one...sounds like your meds dont agree with even a little alcohol I hope you manage to cover the black eye and have my fingers crossed that the interview goes well....fab that the haulage firm want you to work for them, justifies all the hard work you have put in...is there anyone on your course who might like to job share with you? Sorry to hear Shannon is under the weather...hope the calpol does the trick

We are just off to the local farm that has a childrens open morning every Weds..hopefully get to feed a lamb, collect some eggs and plant some seeds (though I'm not happy with his fixation with their tree house)...should keep him happy for a couple of hours though...happy Wednesdays everyone.

babyblue4 · 12/05/2010 18:14

Hello all... my turn to pop in for a short post. Been so busy... but what else is new. I keep wondering how I am going to manage once I am back to work full time, when I can barely keep my head above water now!!

Had a bit of a stressfull afternoon yesterday, though I am not sure why. Everything seemed to be going ok... spent the morning running errands with the 2 LO's... all was well... then suddenly all hell broke loose when I arrived home. Marco started screaming uncontrollably, Sofia joined in for some unknown reason, the older 2 DCs arrived home from school and began bickering, all while I was trying to get dinner on the table. I just exploded! Started screaming (above the fighting, crying and TV). It took 2 bouts of me losing my temper, before the herd of animals finally calmed down. The worst part was, DH worked an overtime shift, so he didnt get home until 1am leaving me to cope on my own. By the time I finally got them off to bed (accompanied by more shouting since no one seemed to be listening), I was exhausted! It was one of those days when it really hit me that I have 4 children!

Anyway... DD1s specialist appointment went well. Nothing earth-shattering came of it (I was worried that we had been sent to this particular hospital because something was terribly wrong). Just treatment options discussed. She has a rare combination of 3 different auto-immune disorders, which we were told may eventually lead to her thyroid no longer functioning. She now has to have it tested every year. Seeing all the sick children at that hospital made me realize that although her condition isnt pleasant, alot worse exists out there and I should be thankful that my children are otherwise healthy.

Enough about me... Inzi How are you doing? So glad Little George is thriving. I think its good your Dad is being looked after in a facility rather than at home. It must take some of the stress of your family. Hope he starts to feel beteer soon. Your luck HAS to change now! Hope you and Jane are feeling better.

Dal How are you managing? Miles must be growing like a weed

NC LOL at the black eye and you not being sure of how it came to be Good luck with your interview. You sound a lot like me, in the sense that you want the job, but know you have a lot of catching up to do. I have been out of my regular job for 4 years now between mat leave and light-duty positions while preg. I am going to have a real tough time with my interview too. Hope it turns out like you are hoping.

LLL Hows the 'saintly' behavior coming??? I tend to behave on my diet mon-fri, then I go nuts on the weekend. My weight fluctuates on a weekly basis. I weigh the least on Fridays, the most on Mondays and it goes down from there! LOL

to all I have missed... WWAJC, Floria, Alicet, Choc...

alicet · 12/05/2010 21:41

NC how did the interview go?

Babyblue sorry to hear about your stressful evening. If it helps I ahve times like that too and I only have 2! I am sure people in Sainsburies know me as 'ranty mum' when I schreech at the boys as they both run off in different directions! Glad dd's hospital apt went well though

Will go try and catch up now but need to send inzi great big hugs - don't know entirely why but it certainly sounds as though you need them xxx

nothing exciting here but I have my annual appraisal next week so may not be on much before then. Alternatively I will be on loads as I work avoid like a demon !

NC - Hope the interview went well and I hope Shannon is better soon. Did you manage to cover the black eye?

BabyBlue - 3 days in and I am still being saintly, off to London on Saturday for the weekend though, so it looks like I might blow it for the second week running.

Hope you have a better day tomorrow with your brood

Floria - Hope you had a good day

I met up with WWAJC and Anya today, it was lovely to catch up again after 2 years!!

Anya is adorable, and loves her 'chicken! potato! peas!'

Love to you all x

alicet · 12/05/2010 21:50

Double hugs inzi now I have read all your post (sorry not read anyone elses). Thinking of you and your family and keeping everything crossed that he improves soon. And also that you and Jane are on the mend xxx

Floria saw too that you were enquiring about my friends and sil. Sil is still in mother and baby unit but doing well as far as I can tell. So all good although she is likely to be in for another month at least.

Saw friends for first time last week. He is still struggling loads (don't know if i told you this but his dad has just passed away after a long illness too which he is really struggling with) although back at work this week. His dw seemed a lot stronger than I expected and talked really openly about everything. She did say though that its only been in the last few days that she has felt able to do this. We saw some pictures of their dd - it was heartbreaking as she was so completely perfect and beautiful. They said that they really valued the support we had given so thanks to Floria and Inzi for your advice as it seems as though it really paid off. I had bought them a rose to put in their garden that has the same name as their dd and they were really touched by this too. I am sure that there will still be tough times to come but glad that now they have spoken to us we can be there for them.

Lots of love to all of you I haven't mentioned...x

Quick hello. Sorry not been on, have had this awful infection which I can't get rid of. Just finishing a second course of antibiotics and am going back to the dr today.

Inzi I am really glad your dad is home. I think it is hard for anyone to be relaxed and stress free in a hospital enviroment so I hope he will be more comfortable there.

Ahh - Dareh awake - there goes my quiet time. Back later.

Oh my word Inzi - thanks for linking that, its the funniest thing I have read in ages

strawberrylace · 14/05/2010 22:08

hello ladies
this is just going to be a bit of a me post, but i hope you will forgive me, as it is quite late, and its been a bit of a day.... i'll try and read all your news over the weekend.

anyway.

I went to have a 12 week scan at the hospital today, as I am pregnant again! we have kept it v quiet after having the miscarriage in Feb, but am now 11+2. All is fine, though

WE ARE HAVING TWINS!!!

This was completely unexpected, so we are in a bit of a state of shock now, to say the least. It hasn't really sunk in at all, and most of the time I just keep saying 'twins' to DH or he says it to me, and we laugh slightly hysterically....

Am still trying to get to tell all our family, so nothing on Facebook yet, but HAD to come and share this with all of you xxx

Dalrymps · 14/05/2010 22:28

PMSL inzi, that is so funny!

Choc - Sorry you're still suffering, I really feel for you, I had reoccurant cystitis for a while when younger and it was awful. Hope it clears up soon ((hugs))

Inzi - Hope you feel better soon too. How's your bump coming on anyway? Any new pics?

Hope your dad is doing ok and feels better soon. Glad Jane is on the mend.

In response to Margo, yes, Miles is pretty much following the rule book His nights are quite random but never usually more than 2 wakes. Last night he went 12am - 6am then fed and went back to sleep till 8 I am VERY lucky, I know that . Usually it's more like a 4am wake then another random wake at about 5.30.

He seems to be gaining weight ok so far, got him weighed about a week and a half ago and he was 9lb 8oz. Trying not to get him weighed too often as we did with Dylan as it was too stressful, plus there's no need to!

He has started making little noises like ahh and ooh and goo . He is smiling a lot too. He is a lovely baby and I can't complain, he's a bit fussy in the evenings with what seems to be wind but even this seems to be improving.

Lol, am wondering if it'll all go wrong now i've said all this! He'll be 8 weeks old tomorrow, can't believe where the time has gone

Most of all I am struck by how much happier I feel caring for him than I did when I had Dylan. I was and am completely in love with Dylan and didn't mind looking after him when he was younger at all but looking back I realise now that maybe the pnd I had started earlier than I thought. I just feel so happy this time and feel like it's easier looking after 2 of them than just one, don't know how that can be?! It's almost like the pregnancy has evened out my hormones as i've never felt this happy in years. Hope it carries on...

Anyway, sorry for the me me me post, just thought i'd update you all on whats happening here. New pics on fb if anyone fancies a look, I know some of you have seen them already.

Hi to everyone i've missed, will try to keep posting little and often x

Dalrymps · 14/05/2010 22:52

X - Post Strawberry OH MY GOODNESS! TWINS? TWINS! That's absolutely fantastic news Massive congratualtions! Glad all was ok with the babies at the scan too.

So so happy for you, sure the idea of twins is very exciting and a little daunting, you'll get used to it once it sinks in though! Any idea if they're identical or not?

strawberrylace · 14/05/2010 22:59

dal - definitely exciting but v v daunting. i am so tired i want to go to sleep but just keep thinking about it all! i think the sonographer said non identical as they are in separate sacs. but i had kind of stopped paying proper attention at that point! i have to go back in a couple of weeks for them to do the nuchal scan as i was a bit too early today, which is good, as i'm hoping i can pay good attention to the screen and listen properly this time...

Dalrymps · 14/05/2010 23:05

Aw I remember the tiredness well and you;ll have it doubled! Wow, non identical hu, how exciting. Great you get to have another scan and see your babies again. So happy for you x

NeedCoffee · 14/05/2010 23:26

Hi ladies

Just quickly, have scanned.

Strawberry-OMG Wow, am so pleased for you, can't imagine how speachless you and DH are.
Fantastic. You got pics? Post when you can if you have, hope you get to sleep

Inzi-Glad Jane is near enough better, sorry that your parents are so tired and struggling, it must be so hard for you. You know we're here
Do you live Edinburgh? Rich keeps going on about a job up near there, may pack him off there if he doesn't shut up annoying me!
He's dictating to me what I should write, blah blah blah

Hi to everyone else, will try and get on tomorrow to post properly, just wanted to let you know the job interview went okay, not heard anything yet though.

Hope everyone is okay xx

Dalrymps · 14/05/2010 23:36

Hey NC, glad the job interview went ok

Off to bed, back tomorrow x

strawberrylace · 14/05/2010 23:44

Okay, so I can't get to sleep and thought I would do something useful and catch up on the thread a bit

LLL ? great news about the self-build ? looking forward to seeing pics

NC ? how did the job interview go? I think its brilliant that you have some interviews, it can be a real battle sometimes

FT ? hmm, know what you mean about the dropping of naps. DS is ok now, but I?ve found he needs to have one longish afternoon nap once a week, almost like catching up with himself

Babyblue ? glad dd1?s appoint was ok. Don?t know how you keep sane with so many kids/things going on!

Alicet ? nice to see you around, glad you?ve seen your friends now, and that your SIL is doing ok

Inzi ? hope your dad is feeling better soon, sounds like so much has happened for him in a short space of time that his mind and body is rebelling against it all. Am keeping my fingers crossed that you get a break from all this bad news soon

Choc ? I hope the doc can find a cure for your infection ? sounds very painful

Dal ? can?t believe that Miles is 8 weeks already. So pleased that he?s doing well ? the pics are great. And nice to hear you feeling so positive about things

Hello to everyone else that i've missed - many apologies. Do hope you are all well xxx

chocolatestar · 15/05/2010 07:32

Twins! Wow! You must be excited and a bit dazed!

Dr tested various things and basically there is nothing wrong with me! Still feel hellish though. He wanted to sign me off but I said no, feel like enough of a pain at work as it is.

I live near Edinburgh NC, it's a beautiful city.

Back later - the monkey calls!
