Grr just wrote a long post and deleted it!

Inzi-sorry I made you puke. Just finished af, am on pill so it regulates me. Am pretty certain I'm not pg, and I don't want to be atm! Keep meaning to ask-Did you ever hear from that stalker friend you had?

Muppet-woo at Toby rolling, he's growing up so fast. You'll be on to your 4th in no time!

LLL- Have a lovely childfree, sleeping in weekend

Alice-It is so difficult to enjoy them when they're playing you up, Shannon is very good at the ignoring too.

Well Shannon still had hold of her Dora annual this morning We're still in our PJs, need to get dressed and do something.
Have a nice day all

muppetgirl · 23/01/2010 11:41

any thoughts on this would be gratefully recieved x

alicet · 23/01/2010 14:05

Sorry inzi but pmsl at you puking into your mouth with the semen conversations!!! Hope the ms improves soon...

LLL great news on the weight loss! of your childfree night and 2 lie ins! I have my lie in tomorrow am 9dh and I take it in turns at the weekend) and it can't come soon enough!

Muppet great news on Toby's sleep! hope the shoe shopping doesn't bankrupt you

NC Shannon and the Dora annual is very cute! Sounds just like Adam and his wooden cakes - he is absolutely obsessed with them! Takes them all round the house in a peppa pig bag 'on my shoulder' and then gets them out and gives you a cake! Very cute.

Boys are back to being loved this am . think I am just a bit less tired and ratty which always helps. They have been good as gold and we have been to a new soft play place this am to tire them out! Its great - not too big, nice coffee, and they were happy playing together so dh and I got to sit and chill for a bit which is a big plus! I've just been to a pilates class so off to get changed and we're heading out this pm...

Chat later x

Thanks re my brother. It makes him out to be devious and horrible but he's really not. He got into this situation by being emotionally stunted not as deliberate deception. He's never been good at these sorts of things.

What a pair my brothers are... one has a 'new' 5 year old daughter and the other has been married before but hasn't told the present fiancee.

For once I feel relatively normal

FloriaTosca · 23/01/2010 16:11

Muppet; just posted on your thread..those two brothers of yours need their heads banging together. What happened with the new neice situation?

Inzi; that is an unusually strong pg symptom.....I'm sure it will wear off soon enough.

Alice; glad the boys (and you) are back to your normal lovely selves again this morning. Alex has selective deafness too...selective blindness too as he knows sign language and ignores that too

Strawberry; that sounds like a pretty perfect night in...I hope you enjoyed it.

Herjazz; you are welcome to the beanbag..lovely and comfy but I cant get out of them...I'll take the recliner sofa opposite the tv thanks

We had a lovely morning, my lay in followed by a leisurely cooked breakfast and a trip to the park (not the rather basic nearby village one but one in the next town that is fantastic) but feeling a bit miffed this afternoon as a neighbour posted an article on Alexs' signing from the Manchester Evening News...they have done precis of the lancs telegraph piece...but they have got a lot wrong saying he knows over 200 signs...and what is it with the mania for giving out a persons age? Fine for them to mention Alexs' age but mine???? I never told them and now the whole of Manchester does!!!![miffed]

muppetgirl · 23/01/2010 16:18

Hi Floria the new niece is lovely! Brother + SIL have come to agreement with her mum and all seems to be going okay. She loves her new family but does find having an instant 'family' of a brother and sister a little difficult as she's an only child. She's never grown up with irritating siblings but now she has 2 she'll get there Her mum is lovely but my SIL doesn;t want to tell her family (only 2 of her brothers -she has 3) that makes life a little difficult. They have told my dad but not my other brother so she won;t be going to the (possible) wedding later in the year which I think is a little unfair as she's either there or not + neice and nephew will talk about her. My family is still pretty strange!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 23/01/2010 17:09

What a lovely thread - so nice we're all chatty again.

Muppet - ooooooh Bach cello suites, I love those - lucky you for being able to play them. I would love to be able to play the piano but my brain refuses to be able to read two lines of music at the same time. Glad Toby is enjoying nursery and hurray for him rolling over - Go Toby!. Haven't posted on other thread but completely agree with everything said.

Strawberry - your evening sounds perfect!

LLL - lol at Ben's fart. Recipe book sounds lovely. at the lie-ins - your weekend sounds wonderful, have a good time at the party. Well done on the weight loss.

NC - I don't like bananas either - lol at you still eating banoffee pie minus the bananas though. How's your ulcer today?

FT - agree re Popstar to Operastar - I saw about a minute and gave up. Lol at Katherine Jenkins "mediocre glamourpuss" and I can only assume that Rolando Villazon is being paid a lot to do it. Am impressed with your fame at being in MEN - is the article online too? Typical for them to get stuff wrong and yes they always print ages and it always strikes me as unnecessary.

Hi Herjazz

Mine - hope you are enjoying your shopping trip today and your sushi.

Alice - glad the boys are behaving themselves and you're a bit more relaxed today. Pilates sounds very chilled - enjoy your afternoon out.

Inzi - ugh at vomit in the mouth - poor dh, I hope he survives .

I emailed the agent last night with Muppet's questions so will wait and see what comes back. I'm feeling really run down today - had to go back to bed this morning for a couple of hours - I'm sure it's stress, my head is just all over the place. I realised yesterday that I now can't imagine myself staying, I feel as though my life is on hold while I get this sorted, so I am definitely going through with this. It's still scaring me silly though - mainly because my brain is running wild with all different scenarios of how he will react, some of them quite unpleasant.

Anyway, that's enough of me moaning . Hope you're all having lovely weekends x

strawberrylace · 23/01/2010 17:24

hello everyone
did enjoy my night in thanks. However, not so much fun being confronted in the morning by the evidence of DH's drunken night out - kebab and chips on the sofa, and the front door not shut properly! plus he had such a bad hangover that he didn't get up till 11.30am, and i had to get up early on my own to take DS to get his swine flu jab at 8.50am. Come back nights of Call of Duty, all is forgiven!

Muppet - hope you get your brother sorted out
Floria - sorry that the MEN printed your age...
NC - love that Shannon slept all night with Dora
Hello to everyone else! Herjazz, can I bagsie the spot in the comfy armchair by the fire please?

off out to the pub shortly for the second part of DH's best mate's birthday - a meal for 18 (??) which will either be great, or a nightmare, depending on how the half-dozen kids behave...

strawberrylace · 23/01/2010 17:27

x-posted WWAJC - i bet it is stress that's getting to you, not surprising when you have so much to sort out, but good that you are working on getting it sorted - at least you can come here and let us all know how its going and how you're feeling

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 23/01/2010 19:12

Strawberry - I hope dh cleared up his own kebab and chips when he got up - and that he is suitably grovelly this afternoon. How is ds after his flu jab? Enjoy the birthday meal - hope the kids all behave!

It will be another late night for Anya tonight - dh let her sleep after they got back from the kids club this morning. Usually I'd have woken her after half an hour or so but she had over an hour today. She's just spent an hour playing with rice in a big bowl with various cups - until she got to the point where she thought it would be more interesting on the table/floor. She's now watching Peppa Pig - why is it when she's got a boxset of 9 dvds to choose from she always wants the same one? We've had the Balloon Ride, currently on George Gets a Cold - think next up is the visit to Rebecca Rabbit's burrow. She's watched them so often she's started saying the dialogue along with them .

CrochetDiva · 23/01/2010 21:37

Evening all,

have had a great day at the Amnesty Wales Conference - took the kids out campaigning - they had a whale of a time, and were an absolute credit to all of their families - made me feel ok about going to work on Monday ... am v.v.v. tired thought now.

Popstar to Opera Star - I haven't watched it - both the MD of the choir and the guy who is our accompanist (although he's so much more than that, he accompanies us as a favour!) have soooooo many stories about Ms Jenkins - most of which I can't repeat on here as I'd be sued!

I'm heavily into reality TV, but am really liking the Dancing Shows - can't cope with Dancing on Ice though as I'm scared they'll get hurt!

Inzi - you poor, poor thing - I promise I'll not discuss bodily fluids any more ... much

Book choice - Have got to recommend "You Choose" ... have been able today, for the first time ever, to look at a book with both of mine ... in fact I may have to get a second copy as war broke out over it this morning!

I have been such a meany tonight - M was messing with her dinner - I've been threatening to throw her dinner in the bin ... well, tonight I did!
She screamed and screamed - then went and opened the bin up to try and get her dinner out - with any luck I won't have to do it again for a while!

Right, am off to bed early ... night pawb!

NeedCoffee · 23/01/2010 21:41

WWAJC-Crap that you're feeling so run down, not suprising though, try and look after yourself with vitamin supplements fruit and veg etc. hard to forget to do that when you're so busy. Not felt sick much today at all really so must be going, tablets must be working. LOL at Anya joining in with the dialogue, I'm so glad we're giving Peppa a rest for now, have you heard about them having to changge the way they put Peppa and George in the car? Too many parents complained that they don't wear seatbelts. Luckily, in Dora, they do-so my child is compliant atm

Muppet-My family's pretty screwed too, I believe what you say that your brother didn't mean it to not come up, thats the problem with MN, everyone assume that men are dodgy instead of just commenting based on the facts that are given, analysing-good in some ways, not in others.

Alice-Get you! Pilates, I've been trying to get round to ringing up about kick boxing classes since.. October I think, really need to do something, have got a lot thicker since stopping smoking and generally being a pig. So cute Adam carrying bag round, Shannon took her handbag in town with her today, looked very cute and kicked off when a woman sat in her chair in a changing room, pleading with me to do something haha.

FT-How rude! They could have made you a bit younger-not that theirs anything wrong with your age! Tell them they got the digits wrong way round (aslong as it ended with a 2 0r a 3 or that'd be silly).

Strawberry-How was DS after the jab?
That is precisely why I don't let Rich come back here if he's been out, did I tell you all that he managed to lose his wallet, phone and neck chain last time he went out? He doesn't remember anything, I reckon he was spiked. He's out again tonight, he better be more careful and not let it happen again, why do they always revert to boys when they're out with the boys.

We went to Richs' mums for tea, she's a veggie so no meat-veg lasagne, was quite nice actually, Shannon finished first, then had a yoghurt, 2 large peices of melon and a pot of jelly and fruit, hope she sin't sick. It was really funny, Rich's 3 yo sister was singing on the microphone whilst Shannon danced to her voice, luckily a bottle of wine was involved so it was bearable!

NeedCoffee · 23/01/2010 21:45

X posted Crochet, glad today was a success.
Don't blame you for chucking the dinner,I wont let Shannon have anything for afterwards if she doesn't make a good effort with her tea, if she's hungry then tough, she'll enough to not be next time and get a yoghurt or fruit thrown in afterwards(evil mummy).
Although I do worry that teaching her to eat everything to get afters is giving her the wrong attitude to food, maybe thats why DD! is overweight. What do you all think?

HeinzSight · 23/01/2010 23:16

I was going to start my post with an 'aaaargh!' but then I remembered this is a happy place lol!!! Anyway, my argh was about how fast this thread moves and how fast time is going because I've realised I haven't been on mn for a week. !

LLL that diet book looks v good. Are the recipes quick and easy ones? Lol @ Ben's AM greeting

am loving all this food talk on here!

Alice, I've been meaning to take up pilates too. It's supposed to be really good for your joints.

Strawberry my Dd1 had her swine flu jab on Monday and tbh she's been behaving quite badly in the afternoons since. I'm wondering if she's feeling the afteraffects from the jab?! She still has a small lump in her arm. It'll be DD2 next once she reaches 6 months. Aw I hate taking them for their jabs. Especially DD2 as she seems to be the smiliest baby ever!!!!

HeinzSight · 23/01/2010 23:24

Posting using phone so posts a bit fragmented!

I have been tempted to throw DD1's dinner in bin as her new favourite thing is chucking food on the floor or directly into a v grateful looking Golden Retrievers mouth. We keep telling her he'll get sick etc. I must say, she has a pretty impressive spoon flick going on!

Sorry, there's so much to reply to on here!!!!

FloriaTosca · 24/01/2010 09:12

Crochet; Glad the campaigning was a good day...start 'em young, thats the ticket!!!! and glad you feel a bit better. I hope today lifts your mood even more. I have heard of Miriam Bowen, though I don't believe I have met her...I think my one of friends may have worked with her when they did Cardiff Singer of the World...you must let me know how you get on.

Heinz. I hope Imogen let you get lots of sleep once she had got rid of that discomfort LOL at the dinner going in the dog, Alex tries to do the same thing but more subtly feeding a very quiet Bouvier under the table ..amazing how small and quiet that dog can be when food is involved. Alex had his swine flu jab on Friday and has a very red mark on his arm and a runny nose but so far nothing else [fingers crossed emoticon]

9.10! must fly...I'm going to be late for dog training..
happy sunday everyone

LisaLessLumpy · 24/01/2010 09:23

Heinzsight - Yes the meals are very quick and easy and there are recipes for family meals too.

NC - I used to tell Sam that he couldn't have anything else unless he ate 'all' his dinner and they also made a big thing out of it at nursery by giving out stickers for a 'clean' plate. I have now decided to change that because thinking back to my childhood and how my mum always used to go on about finishing dinner, now means I can't bear to waste food and will never leave anything on my plate

I now let him have pudding if he has a good go at his dinner and eats at least half of it.

Crochet - glad you had a good day yesterday and I don't blame you with the food in the bin, lets hope it does the trick

FT - I can understand you being so miffed about the news article, very annoying when they can't or won't get facts right.

Hope you all have lovely days today, I need to go and spend an hour on the cross trainer after being a little piggy last night at the party

HeinzSight · 24/01/2010 10:06

FT can you take my dog too. They'll do anything for food!!

What's your fave recipe so far LLL? Hmm, didn't think of sticker chart for Niamh. That would probably work brilliantly as she loves stickers!!

I did a Jamie Oliver one the other night (in my effort to get out of my food boredom rut). It was crushed new potatoes with sweetcorn and (beaten flat) chicken breasts with grated lemon zest with a tomato, basil, red wine vinegar and chilli salsa on top. I would DEF recommend it. Dead easy too and low fat I guess .......... IF you leave out the butter for the tatoes!

FT Niamh has a cold now, could that be connected to the jab or is it likely to be down to there being lots of colds about?

S'pose I ought to get Imogen dressed DH is cooking sausages downstairs mmmmmmmmmmmmm [Homer voice] S A U S A G E S

Catcha later xx

LisaLessLumpy · 24/01/2010 10:12

heinz - A quick Prawn balti is a goodie, had that on Friday night. Got my eye on a stew and a Gardeners Pie for next week :-)

CrochetDiva · 24/01/2010 13:28

Hi all,

Have done Sunday School this morning - M lay down in the chancel kicking and screaming because I wouldn't let her go into the pulpit when we went up for communion / blessing ... Fr. David jyst said "it's ok", gave me communion, then signed a cross in her direction ...
She is so opinionated already - God help me when she gets into her teens!

I was supposed to be going to sing at Twickenham today - Blues are playing Quins, and the choir have been asked to provide entertainment by Quins ... but I've got to be really careful as I'm still having horrendous problems with my balance - they've called it "Recurrent Acute Vestibular Neuronitis" - which means that a herpes virus attacks my balance nerve when I'm tired / run down / stressed - instead of getting a cold sore - I fall over . It absolutely sucks, and means that I can't do anything that would require me doing a long journey if I haven't got some time to recover: if I'd gone today, there's no way I'd have made it to work tomorrow . I hate it, it absolutely sucks, as it's turned me into an anxious, panic-stricken wreck. Sorry, that's a bit me, me, me - I'll shake myself out of this fug before I post again!

Going to have lunch now - ADs I'm on make me absolutely revenous - I've put on over a stone since the beginning of December (when I started on them), but I can't change as I'm still bf ...

Right, see you later, we're off to the Lauren Child exhibition at the museum this afternoon - M loves Charlie & Lola ... R loves them too, but thinks he's too old to show it , so he's being excited about seeing the Origins of Wales exhibit (again!)

Catch up later!

FloriaTosca · 24/01/2010 17:08

Crochet; that RAVN sounds horrid..so unfair to miss out on jollies like a trip to Twickers (does your choir want a pet soloist, would work for rugby tickets and even sings "my hen laid a haddock on top of a tree" despite being English)I take it that like cold sores there isn't a 'cure'? Do you just have to manage it by keeping healthy, rested and stress free?(as if that is possible with a f/t job, 2 youngsters and a home to run!)...Don't worry about having a rant about it here. It truly sucks and it is not wonder it makes you anxious...we are happy to hear even if we can't help. I hope the museum exhibition was fab and both the children had a lovely time.(and that tomorrow is not as bad as you anticipate)

WWAJC; have you had the 'talk' yet? I hope that too was not as fraught as you imagined.

Muppet; forgot to say "well done Toby" for rolling in public . How did Stans 'interview' go? And has your bro. bitten the bullet and told her yet?

LLL. Fab weight loss in just 1 week...I'm sure you didn't do too much damage at the party... I bet most of the rest is off by next week.
I really need to get some motivation back...lost 21 lb before xmas but put a lot on over the season and haven't got back on the scales to see the damage yet [cross at self emoticon]...fil has just booked the holiday for us all for the end of July..that gives me 6 months...I could lose 3 stones by then if I can just get myself in hand.

Alex is sneezing and snotty and says his "nose hurts"...wants me to "make it better please"....he is a bit lethargic and pale so I think the swineflu vaccine is kicking in..either that or its his teeth again (he is dribbling/biting his fingers).. oh joy!

CrochetDiva · 24/01/2010 19:14

FT - thank you for your virtual hugs!

Lauren Child exhibit was great - M loved it, but it was a bit young from R, so we headed down to the Origins of Wales Exhibit ... M starting screaming and shaking, and nothing, but nothing would persuade her to go in there ... so she and I went back upstairs in the museum to Charlie & Lola ... a good afternoon was had by all!

Very impressed at weight losses - I'm supposed to be losing weight at the moment, but it's not happening - I'm as heavy now as I was just after I had M ...

And you're right, the way to try and keep away from the "Spinny Head" (our pet name for it, is to keep well-rested, stress-free ... hah!

Just feel the need to try out the Burns' Night version of the smilies - they are fab!!

J is going over to a Scottish friend's house tomorrow when I come back from my sign language class: he does Burns Night every year ... but they have no children, so never think to remind us that it's happening until about 3 days before ...
although, they've been accepted to adopt (they tried IVF 3 times and then decided to go down the adoption route) which we're all really pleased about for them - but they don't really have a clue as the trying for a baby process has been so soul-destroying that we always feel bad about mentioning the downsides to parenting!

Right, am in the middle of making curried parsnip soup to take to work tomorrow ... so I shall see you all soon!

Have a good week all, I'll try and pop on (possibly tomorrow after I have my 1st session of CBT to let you know how it went!)

Love to all you and yours! E x

CrochetDiva · 24/01/2010 19:14

p.s. meant to say that I hope Alex feels better soon x

muppetgirl · 24/01/2010 19:25

Hi Crochet, hope the CBT goes well. I am a great fan as it worked for me and I still use it now when I get panicky -as I did the other in a supermarket waiting to buy a leg of lamb. I would have walked out and left the shop but I stayed there in the queue (shaking) and asked for it. My anxieties can be utterly ridiculous and come from nowhere but the CBT has really helped xxx
