Ok so a pretty boring thread title but thought we needed some distance from the last one!

Also wanted to share what Ollie has learned now he has pocket money on a sat.

DH took him to toys r us (money burning a hole in his pocket) and wandered around and said 'I am really disappointed as everything is so expensive! He then said 'Daddy, I really can't afford anything!!'

And then topped off the outing when back in the car he said to dh 'next week shall we just buy something big and not tell mummy how much it was?'

I love him so much!!

Love to all
xx

Crochet - Glad you had a nice day and I hope your CBT works (btw, what is CBT?

Muppet - at Ollie, how cunning

We went to a birthday party this afternoon, and they had a children's entertainer, with about 30 kids, I have now reached that time of the boys lives where there are going to be a lot of parties!! Sam is already driving me mad with what he wants for his party, in June!

Sam and Ben were so excited and getting up all the time and shouting, I had to go and sit down with them in the end to keep them sat down... its a pity some of the other parents didn't deem it necessary to have a word with their kids, who were a lot worse than my two

I had a bit of a lie in this morning and had me time till 12.30, so I managed an hour on the cross trainer, 20 mins exercises and then a lovely shower, all in peace and quiet... bliss

Hope everyone else has had a nice day

LisaLessLumpy · 24/01/2010 20:37

Ah, never mind, I googled it

Mine · 24/01/2010 22:03

You guys move too fast for me!! No wonder i can;t keep up

Muppet - yay for Toby, and Ollie is just too smart for his own good!! Your boys certainly sound like a cheeky bunch.

FT - I hope Alex is feels better soon. When Eren is unwell, all he ever wants is "kakuls" aka cuddles

LLL how on earth did you lose 4lb in one week?! What is the name of that recipe book?? I am so desperate to lose weight, but am struggling to find the time. It takes so much planing that i just lose the will after day 5. I must persevere though otherwise i'll have to resort to eating myself . I wish i could afford to hire a personal chef and trainer. On and i'd like a nanny too whilst i'm at it..... ok throw in a chauffeur and my ultimate dream...... a cleaner!!

Heinz that jamie oliver recipe sounds fab.. in fact i think i'll try that out for dinner tomorrow.

We had a lovely day out yesterday. Packed far too much into the weekend so far, but it has been worth it.
Shopping was a success..... i bought a lovely new handbag (my weakness i'm afraid) and had lunch at Yo Sushi...... yummmmmmm. And today i had a lazy day with Eren whist DH went out for the day. We spent most of the morning in our 'jimmer jammers' then went to my mum's for a BBQ .
I took mum out to the cinema after dinner. Its her time off from looking after everyone else, including my dad (not sure if i've mentioned it before but he has dementia so can be a bit of a handful)
We missed the Sherlock Holmes film by 10mins which was a shame so we watched the George Clooney film (not so good)

Hello to anyone i have missed. I'll try and keep up a bit more one the next few days and i have a couple of days off..... bliss!!

Feeling crap today, Ollie's been sick with dodgy tummy last night so he's at home. Tobes is fine but dh is like me - not been sick but feeling dizzy and really tired.

Re Stan the man finding a new home the people we met last week bought their 14 year old dog with them and Stan was welal behaved but they felt that he was be too lively for their elder dog. Shame they were lovely.

This week we have a chap who lives on a farm coming over on fri to see Stan and take him out and then on Sat a recently widowed lady who's had JR's for years and looks after her daughter's 3 year old a little part of each week. I think the lady would be better as she seemed so entusiastic and Stan would have 1:1 for a lot of the time. The farm sounds ideal but he said when he travels his secretary would look after him so not sure about that. He also asked if Stan sleeps in the bedroom to which dh said -no and was he trained on a lead to which dh said -as much as a JR can be! He seems a little eccentric so we'll see. It's a little like doggy dating in our house at the mo!

LLL- that book sounds delcious! What's for dinner tonight?

Hi Inzi, Mine and everyone else
xx

muppetgirl · 25/01/2010 13:23

The lady looks after her daughter's 3 year old Jack Russell (not child!)

Dalrymps · 25/01/2010 14:14

Argh! How have I fallen this far behind?! I've read all posts now, just haven't got time to catch up right now so popping in to say hi

Will be back to catch up properly later on...

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 25/01/2010 17:22

I'm not having a good day today. We didn't win the DLA appeal - not that unexpected really. I knew it was going badly when the doctor on the panel said "she's not at all what I expected - she's very bright and inquisitive. Is she walking unsupported yet?" . They were all very nice and said they had tried to make our evidence fit in the rules but Anya just doesn't need enough extra supervision/care. Fair enough - sort of good news in some ways I suppose!

Second piece of bad news - that house is no longer available - the landlord's brother is moving in for 2 months while he sells his own house so the house won't be available until April. So back to square one on that (and no moving out this weekend).

Crochet - glad the conference went well, you must be very proud of them all. Lol at M being signed a cross at from a distance. "Spinny head" sounds a nightmare - and really hard to keep under control (stress-free?) Shame you have to miss out on stuff. Good news about your friends being approved for adoption - how long will it take before they get a baby? Hope CBT goes well - friends of mine who have had it say it's really good - hard work but worth it.

NC - yes, had heard about them reanimating Peppa Pig for seatbelts - can't decide whether that's a bit OTT myself. Food's a tricky thing - I find myself praising Anya when she eats all her food but I've read that you're not supposed to do that because it sends the wrong message. Although I'm rubbish with rules for Anya's eating habits - she's pretty much allowed to raid the fridge whenever she's hungry. If When I ever move out I plan to instill some more routine.

Heinz - hope dd1 is over her cold and the effects of her jab. Jamie Oliver recipe sounds delish.

FT - "my hen laid a haddock on top of a tree"??? Does that make more sense in Welsh? Poor Alex - hope his cold clears up soon.

Muppet - lol at Ollie in Toys R Us - he's learning early. Hope you are all feeling better soon and you don't all come down with a nasty bug. Shame about the dog people - keeping fingers crossed that you find the right family soon. At least you're getting some interest.

LLL - glad you had a lovely morning to yourself yesterday. Think you probably needed it before coping with a children's party with 30 kids. Nice to know Sam is being super-organised for June!

Mine - your weekend sounds lovely - wasn't the BBQ a bit chilly?! Sorry about your dad, cinema must have been a nice break for your mum.

Inzi - happy Burns night - shame you can't have your usual haggis etc, enjoy yourself anyway.

Off to get Anya's tea now - hugs to all.

LisaLessLumpy · 25/01/2010 17:33

muppet - hope you get Stan rehomed soon, its sounding promising

Tea tonight for me is Pan Fried Salmon with stir fried vegetables yummy

Inzi - Enjoy your cheese roll Happy Burns Night anyway.

WWAJC - Sorry you are having a bad day, and about the house, what a bummer. What's your plan now?

Dalrymps · 25/01/2010 22:03

Evening ladies,

Gonna try catch up a bit now although we're gonna watcha film soon so I might have to finish off later...

Mine - Sorry you missed the stew cause you would have had to fight dh for it

at your new handbag!

NC - How's your stomach/ulcer? Any better? Promise you'll be a good girl and see the doc if it's not!

Aww at Shannon and her Dora annual

Alicet - Glad your boys went back to adorable mode again. I understand the frustration you speak of when asking them to do something and they don't listen. It's pretty much a given that Dylan doesn't listen. My sollution is to take my frustration our on the dog by being snappy and irratable with her I am working on this however...

Adam and his wooden cakes sounds soo cute!

Am jealous of your pilates classes, I used to go to yoga classes and loved it! I must start that again once i've popped the baby out.

LLL - Your sat morning sounds lovely! Well done on the weight loss too

Yum, your salmon sounds lovely!

Muppet - Well done Toby on the rolling!

Sounds like you're getting good interest in Stan, sure you'll find the perfect home for him soon

Lol at Ollie and his pocket money 'plan'

Well done for coping with your anxiety in the supermarket and managing to stay there... I wish there was someone who did CBT here but there isn't, just normal counselling. I don't think i'm over my huge fear of wasps and am worried how it's going to affect me this summer with 2 lo's to get out and about with

Sorry you're all feeling off today, hope it passes quickly.

Inzi - Sorry but LOL at you vimiting in your own mouth

I am also occasionally 'allergic' to sex and am either totally not in the mood (a lot of the time) or totally the other way. Poor dh doesn't know where he is!

Floria - Sorry the stupid paper got the details wrong and printed your age, totally unecessary and insensitive!

Good luck on the weight loss, i'm sure you can do it. Listen to inzi, she will support you through it, her positive attitude has even inspired me and I can't diet right now!

Hope Alex feels better soon.

Strawberry - How did the birthday meal go?

WWAJC - Aww at Anya knowing the dialogue to Peppa Pig, Dylan loves it too. I also agree the seatbel thing is totally OTT, I mean when we were kids we knew cartoons weren't actually the same as real life!

Sorry the house fell through I'm a great believer that everything happens for a reason so this must mean there's an even nicer house going to pop up for you soon. Hope it's very soon as it must be stressful wanting to move out and getting mentally ready for it then having to postpone...

Sorry too that you didn't win the appeal, it just sounds like a load of silly rules and red tape if you ask me

Crochet - Glad you had a good day at the Amnesty Wales Conference

The 'spinny head' thing you keep getting sounds absolutely awful. As you say, easier said than done to keep stress free and full of energy.. Hope you manage to though for the sake of your balance.

Hope your first CBT session goes ok

I hope you don't mind me asking (just say if you do) but which AD's are you on? I'm already concerned about getting PND this time even though I feel ok now and am just wondering what my options will be if I manage to bf.

Heinz - Dylan also throws food to the dog and she knows this so creeps up and hovers around during meal times . This is when she usually gets told to naff off!

Hope Niamh's cold clears up soon.

Can't decide whether to get Dylan the swine flu jab yet... A while ago I thought I would but now i'm not so sure . He's been doing so well with his food lately and I don't want to put him off... Will think about it some more.

Well, looks like I managed t get caught up! hope i haven't missed anything major

Off to watch the film with a bar of whole nut now. Hi to anyone i've missed. X

FloriaTosca · 25/01/2010 22:39

Happy Burns night

Off to bed in a mo but wanted to say HI

haggis/tatties/neeps and whisky laced gravy in a tower for starters tonight...diet starting really well eh?[bbiscuit]...we did have my pals round for our monthly cook for each other session. Diet starts tomorrow honest. Thanks for the offer of support Inzi...I hope you don't regret it

Alex coughing today but slept through last night(almost into double figures for that now[yahoo emoticon] we are hoping he manages 2 nights running tonight

I'll catch up tomorrow

Night all xxx

CrochetDiva · 26/01/2010 09:21

Morning all,
Am off work today - the CBT session yesterday was an assessment session, which meant raking through everything - I felt very tearful and yuk afterwards - added to which I had to come straight home to look after M - the CM is ill (tummy bug) - and when we had to go and fetch R from school, it took 35 minutes to get her into the car to go there: I was 10 minutes late to pick up R
Anyway, today, I feel utterly cr@ppy and just haven't been able to face it - so tired and cruddy - am going to the GP in a bit to talk to her - it was a locum I saw last Friday, so I didn't really feel able to talk to her.

Dal - I was on Sertraline for nearly 2 years - the dose increase stage is awful - I felt like I had insects crawling under my skin at night - but it did seem to do an ok job until last November, when I was a bubbling panic attack waiting to happen. I'm now on Mirtazapine, and for me they're not so good - bone-crushing tiredness, and a huge appetite - however, for some people they're fine.

WWAJC - am so sorry to her about the house - there's a nicer one out there for you.

Muppetgirl - So impressed at you in the supermarket - well done you!

lol at the pocket money thing - R has pocket money and has become remarkably miserly!

Will post more later, off to the doc now ...

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 26/01/2010 12:34

LLL - salmon with stir fry sounds very yummy. Might have to invest in that recipe book myself. Plan with the house is just to start looking again - have sent message to my estate agent friend but she's not replied yet.

Dal - hope you enjoyed your film - bar of whole nut sounds like a good idea!

FT - wow your starter sounds wonderful - loving the whisky gravy. Sounds like Alex has finally decided nights are for sleeping - hurray!

Crochet - (((hugs))) to you - hopefully that was the worst CBT session out of the way and now that you have all your anxieties 'out there' then the other sessions will feel more positive. Not surprised you're feeling terrible today - hope your chat with the doctor goes well.

muppetgirl · 26/01/2010 13:49

LLL -yum! We love Salmon with a knob of butter and freshly squeezed lemon juice ove it. It's one of Ollie's favourites well, that and Lemon drizzle cake

Crochet - really sorry to hear you're so down WWAJC is right, hopefully that's the worst over with. Can you get a notepad and write down all you're feeling so it's getting out of your head + you can use for next weeks session? How far have you discussed things with work, are they understanding? Try not to put any pressure on yourself re how you think you 'should/ought to feel/ ought to be coping'
xxx

CrochetDiva · 26/01/2010 14:32

I don't have a session next week: that was a "triage" session - to check that CBT is the right path.

I now have to wait (he's going to see if he can arrange for me to have vestibular rehab at the same time, as there are some parts of my anxieties that have a real basis in fact) for him to have a slot so that he can treat me.

GP has changed my AD - I'm now on Citralopram - so am going to have to knock bf on the head - this is not the way I wanted to do it - I wanted M to stop of her own accord ... am feeling very , but I think it's probably for the best

CrochetDiva · 26/01/2010 14:34

p.s. Is there an award for fab GPs? I think mine certainly deserves one - she spent nearly 30 minutes with me this morning, despite my appointment time being only 10. I think she's fantastic!

alicet · 26/01/2010 19:21

OMG I go off for a couple of days and you are so so chatty it took me ages to catch up! I am at work too so didn't post as I went knowing that if i got called away I might lose it. So although have read and absorbed if I forget to mention you then don't take it personally! Lovely to see you so chatty - thread is back to how it used to be - hadn't realised how much I missed it being like this

LLL congrats on weight loss - food sounds yummy too! Also remember you making great childrens birthday cakes for Sam - any suggestions on a pirate cake for my Sam that i couldn't mess up?!

WWAJC really sorry house fell through. Must be crap when you had psyched yourself up to go. Like the others say though these things happen for a reason - sure you'll find an even better one!

Crochet (lovely to have you back ) sorry you are going through the mill both emotionally and with the balance thingy (can't remember the name despite being a doc!). Aslo sorry that you will have to knock bf on the head before you are ready. Sounds from what you say that it is the right thing but understand that doesn't make you like it. Good luck with CBT - I know people who have used this and while it can be emotionally draining I know it can often be very succesful.

A couple of you mentioned pilates - I started after Adam was born as my tummy muscles were totally rodgered (2 sections and my abdominal muscles separated when pg with Adam). Initially I was sceptical that I would enjoy it and was just doing it to improve my core strength before then doing some 'proper' exercise. However I actually really like it. I am not good at the jumping about / lifting weights type of exercise as I don't really enjoy it so it was nice for me to find something I like. And its really helped me to tone up and my tummy looks much better than it did (although heading a little the other way since eating too much crap at work but thats another issue ).

Muppet - good luck with rehoming Stan!

Floria your food always sounds delicious! So I am setting you a challenge! I am having a dinner party for 8 on Sunday (people from work). 1 doesn't eat beef and I need a veggie option for 2 of them. I have some ideas but any suggestions would be much appreciated! Any of the rest of you too for that matter...

Anyway I have tried and failed to remember what else you were all chatting about... Moral of the story is to post more often! Take care and chat soon....

Crochet. Is Citallopram not good when bfing then? I'm sure my GP told me I could continue on it when I got pg with Alex...[losing my memory emoticon] I'm sorry it is forcing you to have to stop...I totaly understand your wanting to let things happen naturally....I hated having to start forcing the issue with Alex 3 weeks ago (we are down to morning, night, after lunch and after dinner) but your state of mind is more improtant that a few more weeks bfing, you have done fantastically to have got this far especially when you work too.

Alice I used to have a fabulous recipie for a caschew and parsnip nutroast with a mushroom sauce that was out of this world gorgeous. a massive hit with veggies and meat eaters alike...I've just had a quick look for it but is hasnt jumped up waving a flag shouting "here I am" yet..would it be something you are interested in?

alicet · 26/01/2010 20:20

Floria yes please to that recipe if you can find it! Sounds fab!! Any meat eater suggestions or starters? Since most of the meals you post about have me drooling

OP posts:
CrochetDiva · 26/01/2010 20:39

FT - yum, yum!!!!!

Actually, have been doing some reading (supposed to be writing an award application, but can't be bothered!), so could do with your help here

Now off to write application ... dh is snoring upstairs with M coming in as a chorus next to him!

FloriaTosca · 26/01/2010 20:46

thisisn't the exact recipie but as near as damn-it.
I'll look for a similar mushroom sauce recipie for you in a mo.
Individual Lancashire hotpots..lamb fillet so not cheap (not to mention lots of individual casserole dishes)?
I have that malibu roulade recipie for dessert if you like (but must admit I tend to cheat and get a huge box of profiteroles (£3ish from cost-co)

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 26/01/2010 21:35

Breaking news alert!

H and I (I am finally dropping the 'd') had another row tonight when he told me I couldn't go for a meal with a friend on Saturday ("No it's not alright, I am not a full time babysitter"). I was emailing my friend later to explain but had to break off in the middle to settle Anya, and I'm pretty sure he read it because as I came downstairs I saw him move fairly swiftly from the table where the computer is. Only about 2 minutes later he says "we've reached the end haven't we?". I said yes, and so we have had the discussion about how we're going to split up.

I told him I was looking for somewhere to rent but he wants to be the one to move out. He doesn't want Anya to have 2 'homes' and thinks she should stay here with me. He will see her regularly depending on where he moves to (a one bedroom flat would be all he could afford).

He still wanted to have the conversation over who's fault it all is ("why do you hate me?", "I've done everything you've asked me to and you've not tried one iota"), which I refused to get drawn into except to point out that the only thing I've asked him to do is to get treatment.

...I've just been kicked out of the living room so that he can go to sleep on the sofa...

I feel a bit strange now about this - or rather I feel strange that I don't feel anything. I've not shed a single tear this evening and don't feel the need to. I've got a slight twinge of relief and I'm now trying to get my head round not moving out. It still feels a bit unreal.

Well at least the big scary conversation is over, and turned out not to be very scary. Now I don't mean this in a horrible way but I hope he finds somewhere really quickly because I think things are going to be very awkward until he does.

Sorry, not read through posts - will do later or tomorrow.

[[http://www.recipezaar.com/The-Never-Enough-Mushroom-Vegetarian-Gravy-267825 mushroom gravy]...off to write up the other 2 recipies
