That is a lot for your poor mum to cope with SOL, what an amazing and tenacious lady she is!! Thoughts and prayers are with you all. xx

yes sol the nursery has a fantastic pre school section (which ds1 attended) but as I will be on nil pay for 3.5 years, starting 31 March I am having to withdraw them from nursery and they will attend the new pre school attached to ds1's school.

I am still having wobbles about doing this and being a SAHM but when you write down all the pros & cons we are doing what is best for the children.

I WANT (yeah right) the 3 little ones to all go to the nursery until they start school and for me to be paid my part time wages to cover the nursery costs but for me to stay at home and run the house and ferry everyone around - I live in cloud cookcoo land

I was very upset about this yesterday and am finding it hard to do but it is for the best.

It is going to save me loads of time, money and travelling but I love the nursery .

Wish it was the middle of May and that all the changes had been made and we were all doing fine.

oooggs · 05/02/2010 19:39

sol - I am very sorry about your mum - hope you can find the strength to stay positive for her and your dad

ScarletBandit · 06/02/2010 12:08

Oooggs, it will all turn out fine, you are just going through the transition stage which I am sure must be the hardest. You are taking a really big step, and completely changing your own life, so it's no wonder you have shed a few tears over it. Look after yourself xxx

SOL, I hope you are doing ok today. So sorry to hear about your mum, but really pleased that she can have more treatment. Losing her hair will be tough, but it will grow back when she finishes her chemo. Take care xx
Oh, and I also have a severe addiction to Farmville!

Doobydoo · 06/02/2010 20:11

So sorry about your mum SOL.Thinking of you all and wishing you lots of strength.
Oooggs...it is unsettling but all will be well honest
Hi to all.
Done 4 essays and 4 left to go!
xx

Sexonlegs · 07/02/2010 08:40

Morning

Thanks for your support lovelies. Feel ok about things. I think it just brought the grim reality to the forefront iyswim. Mum has done so well for 12 months on the type of chemo she has been on that you would never know she is ill and her scan results had been getting better and better. It is just a blip.

Anyway, Dooby, I have no idea how you manage to study and work and have the ds's. Good on you. xx

Oooggs, I am sure everything will work out fine. Change is hard to deal with, but I am sure you will be fine. There's always Mumsnet!! xx

Hi SB Bad luck in the rugby... Hope all is well with you and yours.

We have had a really productive weekend. The girls have been away at the inlaws and dh, dad and me have been painting. Looks fab. Just need to put things back where they live and clean up today - hurrah!

ScarletBandit · 07/02/2010 09:18

I am miserable. I have a vile cold and a nasty headache which won't shift despite paracetamol and ibuprofen. And I am here on my own with the dc's as dh is away until later. He went to Twickenham yesterday to watch the rugby while I stayed at home (yet again).
I am really fed up of him getting quite a lot of free time and me getting none at all
Sorry to whinge, things are just getting to me today.

Sexonlegs · 08/02/2010 08:38

Oh SB How are you feeling today? Hugs to you my lovely xx

ikwym re no free time. Dh has taken flexi time 2 afternoons over the past 2 weeks to go biking. I appreciate he has earnt the time but I I don't earn flexi time being a mum!!! How do I get time off!!!

At least we had the weekend dd free, and the house is looking fab. B was thrilled with her room.

Teacher training day today so no school. No idea what to do. Soft play beckons including lunch there; Tesco deliver tonight so the cupboards are bare!

Hope everyone is ok. xx

ScarletBandit · 08/02/2010 09:38

Morning

SOL, I am ok, just feeling miserable! My cold doesn't seem to want to shift, and I am really not a good patient, I haven't got time to be ill!
I feel bad that I went on about dh going to the rugby. I actually don't grudge him going at all, but it is typical that it fell on a weekend where I felt rubbish.
I don't get time off though, and the short time I do get (like this morning when F is in playgroup) is spent doing housework, or tesco shopping, or going to the bank etc, which is not particularly time for me to relax! Don't really know what the answer is though.

CaptainDippy · 08/02/2010 10:26

I need hugs.

I saw your post on FB. I am so sorry, it must have been such a shock for you this morning. Hope you have managed to clear up all the mess, such a horrible job ((((((((((((((((big hugs)))))))))))))))))))

StealthPolarBear · 08/02/2010 13:52

hi everyone
getting on thread now as no doubt I'll need to go and do something, will catch up and post soon

StealthPolarBear · 08/02/2010 14:00

urgh SB, hope you're feeling better soon
So sorry your mum is still having a hard time SOL, it must be such a shock to learn she is going to lose her hair Did you say there was some treatment she was on only until January (iirc) - what has happened with that?
Dippy, what has happened?
All fine here, same as always. Just starting looking into schools for T and still potty training! A is lovely as ever.

ScarletBandit · 08/02/2010 14:45

Hi SPB, how are things with you? Hope you are well

StealthPolarBear · 08/02/2010 14:50

We are thanks, well all a bit snotty but no big deal. A is 5 months!

ScarletBandit · 08/02/2010 18:05

It is really scary that the months are flying by so quickly!

Sexonlegs · 09/02/2010 14:00

Bugger, just deleted my post!

Hi all.

SPB, cannot believe A is 5 months already! Hope you are all ok.

Mum was due to be on a certain chemo until the end of Jan (in fact it was extended to be the end of March) However the oncologist decided it wasn't doing its job and she starts a new chemo tomorrow. I made the mistake of googling the details and the side effects are awful

Anyway, we will get through it.

Hope all is well. I went to step aerobics last night and have muscles that ache where I never knew I had muscles!!

Better go as K has gone quiet upstairs - usually a bad sign

ScarletBandit · 09/02/2010 14:05

SOL, the side effects always read as a very scary list, but please remember one very important and positive side effect is that it can make your mum's tumours shrink away.

Hope you are ok and that K hadn't caused too much havoc whilst she was quiet!

Sexonlegs · 09/02/2010 14:25

SB, you are right If they do that, then nothing else matters.

K was actually being sweet. She was in her room playing with her baby; changing its nappy and reading it books! She is such a lovely little thing bless her.

How's things with you? Any progress on potty training? We are no further. Thinking I may go cold turkey in March - just put her in pants and see what happens (literally!!)

ScarletBandit · 09/02/2010 14:44

No progress here either, F is just not interested. She is meant to be going into the nursery part of E's school after Easter, but she won't be if I can't coax her out of nappies!!

StealthPolarBear · 09/02/2010 15:22

Oh so that's the one is it SOL? Hope she doesn't have any or at least many of the side effects, and as SB says, it does its job!
Glad we're not the only ones in pull ups (or "big boys' going out pants" as they're called here). T is the last of his RL friends except one afaik to be toilet trained.

StealthPolarBear · 09/02/2010 15:24

anyone keep looking at the newborn in the advert on the right and thinking "ahhh...maybe"

Bramshott · 09/02/2010 16:16

SOL - so sorry to hear that your mum needs to change her chemo. I went to see my god-daughter last night and she was looking so thin and ill . Her hair is starting to come out too. It's so ironic that the thing that's currently making her the illest is the thing that's supposed to be making her better. Still - all worth it in the end I'm sure.

Dippy - sorry to hear about your chickens too.

SPB - no - must just be you !!

Nothing much to report here. Just had another big load of wood delivered so have to go and stack it - still, at least it will get me warm. Orla says "please you make me fire?"

StealthPolarBear · 10/02/2010 12:49

hi everyone

StealthPolarBear · 10/02/2010 12:50

Bramshott, so sorry your goddaughter is going through this As you say though it should all be worth it
