hope you find the right lady/or gent in your search vg.. agree tis very hard to let someone else look after your child but if you can find someone who you could build a good relationship and is to your way of thinking then it will really help you...

.. agree with vg..

glad ds is drinking milk spring.. dd2 is still enjoying hers, tho dd1 stopped drinking milk completely by 2 but has now decided that she likes it again ..

hugs buckets.. hope you and Kurt are tucked up in bed and feeling a little better...

BIG NEWS....dh has just announced he is taking me to Prague for the weekend sans children ...

so excited but now have a millions things to organise before friday and dd1 is going to have a fit when she hears.. queue massive tears and tantrums and "mummy please don't leave me"...

GladioliBuckets · 02/02/2010 15:54

Oh LOTI how lovely. OMG I just reread it again, you mean THIS Friday??? Wow. Will you be taking the seethru dress for bedroom purposes LOL?

Kurt's temp is now down and we both slept til 1.30. I'm fine and hoping to go swimming tonight if DH home in time.

VG Have you identified all the childminders in your area? Could you cope if there was one just round the corner that your fully approved of? A few little friends for him to play with but not too institutionalised and you can race round in no time at all should there be an emergency (eg forgotten packed lunch.)

Sazz, sorry about your bad day, not a great one here either and DH and I seem to be nipping too

VG sorry you're still not happy re childcare, something will come up soon I hope

I can't feel my feet tonight - fecking heating - so bath has been run and I shall be retiring to the tired cow bubble bath that my lovely friend bought me

evening all else

CaptainCaveman · 02/02/2010 20:42

Evening ladies . That sign makes me want to get my eyes tested!

buckets did you get a swim? glad K is better too

VG do you have more potential CMs lined up?

dizzy ds1 and I shared a bath this evening with one of the bath bombs that dh bought me for Christmas. Ds1 seems to think they are 'ours' rather than 'mine' . Hope your bath is a little quieter and more relaxing than mine was?!

hotpot when are you testing?....

cyteen cool choice of colour

sazz want some wine? Or something stronger? Tell us about your bad day

CaptainCaveman · 02/02/2010 20:43

And Loti, very [envious] of Prague! What are you doing with the kids?

CaptainCaveman · 02/02/2010 20:44

Can you see me ...

VG I got this collection to divvy out as Christmas presents but they were a bit too babyish for the children I had in mind so DS has appropriated them and they're actually brilliant, only a few pages with not too many words so he doesn't get bored waiting for the next page

He also loves flap books but only so he can pull the flaps off, grrr

Hello all. Is there a spare VG clone left?

Cyteen, I love, love, love your dress.

Dizzy, hurrah on the cafe.

Life here is so hectic. Teaching up in Cork tomorrow. The Arthurs will get a stern talking to on attendance and preparation after last year's debacle.

DS's stuff is packed for swimming, sandwiches made x 5, cottage pie made for tomorrow night so that dd2 doesn't escape upstairs while dh is cooking, classes printed off.

At the minute I have three small children and three part-time jobs.

Not sure about the confused face. My real one is much more convincing.

RedLentil · 02/02/2010 23:56

Maisy books and Poppy Cat books are a huge hit here and an Usborne farm one is also popular.

The Maisy books are great because DS enjoys reading them to dd2 and it gives him extra readiong practice. Feel the synergy.

springaporesling · 03/02/2010 02:15

Red you're making me feel tired just reading that!

Hotter I bought those for DS for Christmas too (from The and he loves them - especially the 'bedtime' ones he asks for the one about the teddy with the pink rabbit (can't remember title although I could probably recite it to you ). He then sits and reads it back to me 'blah blah babbit blah blah blah' or some such - usually with the book upside down but it's very sweet!

Then again he seems to love all books I caught him with the A-Z yesterday

Loti that sounds fantastic v. too

luckoftheirish · 03/02/2010 07:32

HP it's day 26 so you could sneak a test if you wanted. Might be very faint but fun.

VG Reese likes every book on the planet but especially ones that make noise. She sits in her bed at night flipping through small boardstyle picture books but always ends up with one of the ones that plays a little tune if you press a button. She will play it over and over and over and over then suddenly it will stop. I know she's out cold at that point.

Not bothering to shower this morning. Might even be running late. WHO CARES! Dropping DD1 at school then coming home to clean clean clean. Snow days seem to DESTROY the house internally.

Singapore thanks for the text. Reese drank chocolate milk 2 times yesterday.
