I just had to google 'teal'.

I am pretty much dresses from head to toe in Uniqlo. It's cheap and machine washable.

WrigglyGiggly · 28/01/2010 09:04

dressed

Feierabend · 28/01/2010 09:12

Nothing wrong with Uniqlo, I think the style thread would agree

I am dressed in dried snot today.

WrigglyGiggly · 28/01/2010 09:21

Yes, plenty of dried snot. Hence the need for machine washable.

PuzzleRocks · 28/01/2010 09:29

Fei - Springy sent me a link for a gate that could do the trick. Otherwise I shall get some meccano.
As I recall you had rather nice hair. Rock hard thighs are for men or shot putters. I rather like pub quizzes (cerebral ones only of course ) but a fair few probably only prove that you watch too much crap tv. And sex? Well it's not exactly a regular occurrence here either but we figure we have a lifetime together so we are not fretting about it at the moment. Sleep is more precious.

I find the style and beauty threads terrifying. Honestly they love some gopping stuff over there. Did you see the thread about digital prints. I don't want my clothes to give me a migraine.

PuzzleRocks · 28/01/2010 09:32

Wriggly - Just saw your email. DD shimmying up drain pipes made me laugh. She would make an ace secret agent.

WrigglyGiggly · 28/01/2010 09:46

there is a touch of the Inspector Clouseau I suppose.

getOVERyourself · 28/01/2010 10:55

oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what am I going to do? Am going away for a weekend with DP and the boys and some friends of ours who's little boy is 4 months....they're talking about starting him on solids this weekend.

How do I stop myself getting on my BLW/wait till six months soapbox?

I guess I could tell DP not to pack the soapbox....

getOVERyourself · 28/01/2010 10:55

Sorry, it's Turtle here, under a different name!

AuldAlliance · 28/01/2010 13:35

GetOVERyourself, I have no advice. I'd be unable to resist saying something.
As I am being blunt about names at the mo, may I say that I rather like your new name but it took me blimmin ages to type it. WFH/TT were snappier, somehow. Not sure GOY is very PC, is it?

Thanks for all the feedback re sleep, you are lovely.
Fei, I do need to be more consistent, I know.
And I agree that going to bed early is definitely the key, but I haven't managed it yet. Once I have got the boys to bed (about 7:30-8'ish) I rush downstairs, clear up the supper table, wash up, do laundry duty (and ironing on really bad nights, then I get to bed around midnight).
After that I usually have at least an hour's work to do, generally more. This is because I have to stop work at 4pm to get DS1 from school, and that is an early end to the day. And I get nothing done on Weds because there is no school...
I did manage it the other day, collapsed into bed at 9, and that was the night he awoke every two hours as of 9:15.

Last night was pretty peaceful (all things being relative). He slept from 7:15pm to 1am and then again till 5:15, after which I failed to persuade him to go back to sleep.

Right, lunch break over, back to my marking.

AuldAlliance · 28/01/2010 13:37

I forgot...
Puzzle, A is also very into climbing the stairs. Could you let me have that link Springy sent you? I still haven't found an acceptably priced stairgate for our weird staircases.

SpringyWho · 28/01/2010 14:17

Hellooooooooo!

How are you all?

WRT gates, we have this to separate off our open plan kitchen. It opens up like a fence which you can screw into the walls. It has 6 panels, including a gate, which all rotate 10 degrees at a time, so you can use it to block off all kinds of shapes. I think you can add bits or take them away, too - but don't hold me to that. Don't know if that's of any use to anyone, but that's my only magical solution, I'm afraid

getOVERyourself · 28/01/2010 14:20

We have one of those, currently in play pen mode (or 'cage', as DS1 likes to call it) to contain Orbit when he is torturing DS1 just a bit too much...

SpringyWho · 28/01/2010 14:27

We've only ever used it as a room divider, but George actually enjoys standing up watching us cook, or whatever. I thought he'd be really angry about being shut out, but he finds it a useful prop.

I love that you still call DS2 Orbit

dawntigga · 28/01/2010 15:20

As I've now had a message deleted by the PTB am I a real member of Mumsnet?

AuldAlliance · 28/01/2010 16:00

SPRINGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where have you been? How's life???????

Tigga, what post? where? c'mon, spill the flageolets....

Off to check out stairgates, but screwing into walls ain't gonna please the landlors...

dawntigga · 28/01/2010 16:06

On the GMTV/Bf'ing thread.

There was talk of explosives and sanitary products.

ItWasOnlyAThoughtNotAPlanTiggaxx

AuldAlliance · 28/01/2010 16:14

landlord, obviously

Where are BB and Nutty? And Gui? And gingersarah? And Boff? And lots of other folk?
Think the Fanjo Warriors are becoming less prolific as more and more of us return to work.

SpringyWho · 28/01/2010 16:37

I've been buuuuuuuuusy. I'm in the middle of exams & stuff's crazy. Things are good, though. The marriage is good, George is wonderful... Nothing to complain about, really.

We had to take George to A&E on Monday night because he managed to split his head open. His eyebrow is now held together with butterfly stitches & glue. It sums him up to say that he was most annoyed that we were restraining him to apply pressure on his head, especially when there were other children in the A&E waiting room he wanted to play with. He didn't even cry when the doctor & nurses were prodding his wound & putting the glue in it. I was so proud (but also think he's a bit of a lunatic who'll never learn any sense of self-preservation!).

& Auld, just do whatever you have to & fill the holes in afterwards - I doubt they'd even notice. Our flat's obviously rented too, but we've been told so long as we don't leave holes everywhere it's okay. Even if you have no such formal arrangement, just don't mention it?

BB & Nutty are okay - I'll give them a heads up to say you're asking after them

How are you, Auld? I keep thinking about picking up French again, particularly as my sister is doing German at AS level at the moment & is fabulous at it (helped by having an exchange trip, which we were never offered!) & it makes me really miss knowing bits of French. It often also makes me think of your DS1 complaining that 'he is have' when you told him to behave That's one of my favourite language misunderstandings ever. Although seeing the German exchange girl's face when she heard the words 'fish fingers' was pretty spectacular

getOVERyourself · 28/01/2010 17:16

Hellooooooo Springy! Long time no post and all that. Sorry was in a rush last time so didn't acknowledge your popping in. Not huffy or anything at your long absence. No siree, not me.

I am feeling relieved and delighted - calloooh callay and all that. This is because I rang the estate agents selling the house we're about to leave, and the viewings they had booked for Saturday have all been moved to after we move out. This means I don't have to transform the place into a show home before going away for the weekend.

Not that that would be possible. But now I don't even have to try!

Of course it didn't occur to the estate agents to let me know, or anything.

Am going to change names back in a minute - I'm not getting on with TwilightTurtle and this one is only for days where it's all a bit much. Was overcome with the urge to post really sarcastic messages on everyone's FB status yesterday, they all seemed to be about such trivial things. I guess FB always is, really.

getOVERyourself · 28/01/2010 17:22

FB advice - someone I shared a house with at uni has asked to be my friend. I didn't like her much then, have had very little to do with her since. We just never saw eye to eye. I did go to her hen night bizarrely, but felt I was there to make up numbers, really. She married someone else we were at uni with, I never really got on with him either, and now he's quite full of himself and really very boring. If I'm being brutally honest.

We have a few mutual friends, but haven't seen each other for a couple of years. The only thing we have in common is that she has a child, not even sure what sort.

Do I

a) Ignore?
b) Put her on limited profile?
c) Just confirm, what the hell?

Bicnod · 28/01/2010 17:53

TT are you going to be WFH again then? Yay I miss that name RE: FB ignore ignore ignore. I've even gone so far as to cull some of the dross from my FB friends list - if you don't accept in the first place you don't have to cull later. But then I'm a cow

Fei I'm so sorry that O was such a whingebucket today - I hope you haven't been put off us forever I've eaten a lot of the leftover cake. Little O fell asleep on me this afternoon in front of Desperate Housewives so not all bad... he must be feeling rubbish as he never falls asleep on me these days. It was lovely to see you both - H is such a gorgeous little girl

Springy - good luck with exams

Right - bathtime - try to post more later

PuzzleRocks · 28/01/2010 18:57

[goes to check FB status]

PuzzleRocks · 28/01/2010 18:58

Phew.

Bicnod · 28/01/2010 19:01

Puzzle LOL you, my dear, are definitely not in the 'dross' category
