Fei, is this for UK or German TV? Will we get to see it?
Hope house viewings went OK.

TT, hope you get it all sorted out, and fingers crossed for work. I should know what you do, but don't.

Alex threw up everywhere this morning: the floor, the walls, his clothes, my jeans, slippers, new cardigan from the Gap sale...the works.
I cannot bloody wait for the spring and the end of this round of childhood bugs and illnesses.

I presume it is a gastro thing, there's an epidemic. Do I just BF as much as poss and keep him hydrated? Docs are very, very thin on the French ground on a Sat afternoon.

PuzzleRocks · 23/01/2010 16:19

Hello

Just a quickie as I spent all morning in bed with a migraine and don't want to induce another..

Yes, Ellen on top bunk, Holly on bottom. I'm hoping it will be fine as they have both co slept with us these past nine months and don't seem to disturb each other. Holls is still waking once or twce a night but she squeaks to wake me and goes right back to sleep after a feed. Our house is so tiny that even in separate bedrooms we are not more than a few feet apart so hearing her wont be a problem.

TT - Best of luck with your boss and with the nursery.

Fei - I hope the viewings went well.

Auld - Poor Alex. Yes I would just keep bf'ing. I hope he gets better soon.

bebemoohatessnot · 23/01/2010 17:14

So I cannot remember.. what was I going to say? Bunk beds sounds cool.
As does dancing around a clothes horse in nymph like fashion (at least that's what I envisioned).
Turtle hope you and your little ones are well and that you're mom is doing good too.
Auld being home 'alone' sucks doesn't it? Hopefully it went quickly for you.
I'd bf too and hope bug passes quickly.

ME:
did preggy test again on Wed morning as still had no period. Said positive!! Was elated and giddy and was thinking about how we'd manage. BUT started period late that night. Must have been a false positive. Bled heavily Thurs-this morning but now have stopped. Feeling tired and stressed with a screamy baby and a whiney husband (the latter of whom I'm feeling not so generous towards because he went for 4 hr bike ride this morning/early afternoon really as he never gets out on time- and when he got home started whining about how he cannot watch Meg (for ME to have time off) because he's not feeling well after a crap ride and just needs to rest)

BoffinMum · 23/01/2010 19:07

Oh Bebe that must have been a rollercoaster!

BoffinMum · 23/01/2010 19:07

Your test, etc, not his bike ride, I mean.

dawntigga · 23/01/2010 22:25

Bebe shave his eyebrow off whilst he's asleep and don't say anything to him.

Evil=GiftTiggaxx

WrigglyGiggly · 24/01/2010 07:54

Oh Bebe - you OK?

Worth doing another test?

bronze · 24/01/2010 11:49

Bebe do another test just to check
They say false positives dont happen and I am (or rather dd is) proof that heavy bleeding does not mean no baby

bebemoohatessnot · 24/01/2010 17:33

I'll do another test tomorrow morning I guess as suggested. Tho really I don't know why I thought I was or could be. We've been very careful with double protection like I said before. I'm sure it was a fluke. But we'll double check.
I'm surprised a bit at myself as my first feeling was a rush of giddiness and anticipation. I remembered being preggy with Moo and how pleased I was and how calm it made me feel in many ways and for 14ish hours I was touching my belly and smiling. It was nice. Made me realise that I'm looking forward to the 'next' baby even when I'm still stressy about the everyday life with my current babe

why do all the smilies have hats on and red hair?

bronze · 24/01/2010 23:09

for burns night

WrigglyGiggly · 25/01/2010 09:23

It's a See You Jimmy Hat

Guimauve · 25/01/2010 09:34

Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o the puddin'-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy of a grace
As lang's my arm.

Might go and get a haggis for dinner to honour my complete lack of Scottish roots. Quite like a wee bit o' haggis. Mom and Dad lived in Peebles for a while, does that count? And my Dad has been up Ben Nevis several times, probably get a wild haggis or two up there

ZuluWarrior · 25/01/2010 09:37

Happy Burns night everyone! . Our local Burns Supper got cancelled because of the snow so I may have to go in search of my own haggis today. Unfortunately veggie ones taste like they're made of margarine and oats [byuck].

Bebe how are you doing? Dramatic weekend at your house.

Lurgy central here. I've coughed up a lung and BW is sleeping and screaming more than usual. He has learned to kneel in his cot and hold onto the bars when he's displeased, and this morning he was asleep on his front for the first time . I was a bit shocked but he looked really comfy.

Cough, cough, cough.

ZuluWarrior · 25/01/2010 09:38

Guimauve, fabulous Burn's verse. You are practically scottish going by your lineage! You can be an honorary one for the day .

AuldAlliance · 25/01/2010 09:51

Gui, are you American?

Not much chance of haggis and neeps here. Not that I could stomach them: we have now all caught A's tummy bug. DH has gone off to work looking grey, and I have DS1 at home, just for a blimming change. Trying to work while he watches Kipper and Charlie&Lola. Usual viewing rules are allowed to be waived during illness, aren't they?

He has now been regularly ill since December, with a week's break in between each bout.

Right, back to work.

Love to all.

WrigglyGiggly · 25/01/2010 09:56

Haha - veggie ones are made of marg & oats. And a bit of onion if you're lucky.

Just realised I haven't touched a drop of Whisky since a particularly heavy Burns night in '95. Flashbacks to wandering across the snow covered Meadows in Edinburgh dressed (for reasons that shall remain lost in time and a blur of whisky) in a silver fairy costume that would make DD proud.

Guimauve · 25/01/2010 10:05

No, Auld. Is it 'Mom'? It is (apparently, having asked my Mom why she is Mom and not Mum) a West Midlands thing. Or possibly more specifically a Black Country thing.

I also honeymooned in Edinburgh!

Wriggly, are you Scottish?

OP posts:
AuldAlliance · 25/01/2010 10:14

Gui, yes, it was the 'Mom' that surprised me. How do you pronounce it?

WrigglyGiggly · 25/01/2010 10:21

No Gui - I'm a mongrel. Born in Wales, school in Spain, Uni in Scotland.

AuldAlliance · 25/01/2010 10:33

Wriggly, did you study at Edinburgh? I graduated from Edin. in 1995...

Guimauve · 25/01/2010 10:47

Hmm, I pronounce it like 'bomb', I suppose, rather than with the more extended 'O' you might get in the States ('marm'???).

bebemoohatessnot · 25/01/2010 11:05

I've not done a test. I plum forgot this morning trying to get Dh off to work while dealing with Moo.
Took Moo to gp because of cough that just won't go; he gave antibiotics, but after a discussion (allergies to penecillyn(sp) based drugs run in my family and while it's not garranteed she'll have one too I also would not like to give antibiotics if we can help it) agreed that I could hold off until Friday to see if it clears on it's own (since it's not super serious).
Also made another appointment to get my iron levels checked as my fatigue levels are super high and I've gone a lovely ghostly paste color.

Dh has booked us a city break in Helsinki for our honeymoon we never had anniversary. He said he's going to work a few extra hours to off set the cost. My MIL said she'd be happy to take moo off my/our hands for the time we're gone Does anyone else think I'm nuts for thinking this is just way too much for Moo? As in, 4 whole days, with strangers (more or less), them dealing with her 24hrs? AND us not really being anywhere close enough to return if trouble ensues? Am I just being over protective?

bebemoohatessnot · 25/01/2010 11:07

sounds like I'd say it Gui Mahm? Bahm?
