Biscuits, good luck with the studying.

I have no idea about how to go about all the school and pre-school stuff. B is in full time private nursery, and AFAIK we will be able to use our 'free' sessions there. I don't want to think about him going to school yet, he's just a baby!!

For the wooden toy lovers (Rolf?) someone posted a 50% discount code for Holz on the promotions board - HTRLW - it works on stuff already discounted and on special offer, I've just placed a big order for things I'd usually think too pricey.

B has some kind of stomach bug - D&V - urgh - hoping it's just a 24 hour thing. He's crashed out on the giant beanbag right now.

Essie, I can't believe that neither of us won the KitchenAid competition! I am a sore loser - I think MN HQ couldn't be bothered to bake a load of biscuits, as they picked a totally simple thing with barely any ingredients! Bah!

Amber, if you're lurking, hope you're ok.

DebInAustria · 28/02/2010 13:30

Amber - really sorry, how are you feeling?

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 28/02/2010 15:01

Sorry to hear your news Amber, hope you are OK.

bugger thanks, it's going at any rate, which is more than it was before last week. You need to check with your nursery if they are a 'partnership' (think that's the right term) nursery, as not all of them are. Ours is, but my friend's careshare one isn't, while the careshare one C used to be at was. confusing stuff. spongebrainbigpants · 28/02/2010 19:09

Hi all, hope you're all good.

Today has been all about me finally starting my fitness campaign in the hope that if I get fit I'll stop being ill all the time!

I have joined our local Virgin gym, been for a swim this morning (which was lovely) and have booked some sessions with a PT.

And I have set up my sponsor page for my Moonwalk in May if anyone would like to sponsor me? [cheeky emoticon ]

My Sponsor Page

I have also entered the Great South Run - a 10 mile run in October! I spoke to the trainer at the gym and he thinks it's more than doable - I'm so excited! It would be such an amazing milestone for me and a great way to celebrate M's 1st birthday .

Apologies for the self-indulgent post, but I just feel so excited about it all .

I have also decided to only go back to work 2 days a week for 2010/11 and then think about what I want to do next Autumn when the boys are a little older.

So lots of decisions made this weekend. .

abdnhiker · 28/02/2010 20:09

my goodness sponge! That's a lot of decisions. I think chosing to go back slowly is a good idea though.

And your house looks amazing and those photos are fabulous - I was wondering why on earth you'd be moving until I read the small print as the rooms look huge in the photos.

neenz · 28/02/2010 21:34

Wow Sponge, that's great! Good luck with the run - that will be such an achievement. I am trying to load your sponsor page but it is taking ages.

Amber, thinking of you xxx

My SIL is now nearly 12w pg with her twins but has had some bleeding this weekend. She went to hospital last night but they couldn't scan her. They refused to listen in with the doppler either. They examined her and said the cervix is closed so I assume that is good news. She has her 12w scan on Wed.

We went looking at new cars yesterday because we can't get three seats across the back of our Honda so thought we'd need an MPV, but there is this new thing called the multimac www.multimac.co.uk which is four car seats in one and fits across the back seat of most cars! I have asked for them to come give me a demo. I so hope it will do the trick because I really don't want to sell our car. It is a fab car, has only done 45k miles, but is only worth about £6k. The MPVs we have been looking at are upward of £12k! And the boot space is rubbish compared to our Honda. So really hoping this multimac works.

SpiderWilliam · 28/02/2010 22:14

Wow Sponge good for you.

Neenz that multimac is quite something. Lucky you found the website. We were thinking of you yesterday when the football was on. DH switched off when Chelsea were 1-0 up declaring it was a boring match. How wrong he was.

Did anyone else see on FB that Hedgehog has had a baby girl. How lovely.

Tedious day here as it has been throwing it down with rain, and DH has been working all day (still not finished now, poor DH ). Please let the spring weather come soon it is 1 March tomorrow after all!

DebInAustria · 01/03/2010 06:59

Wow Sponge - how many decisions in one weekend?

Amber (((hugs)) if you're lurking

DebInAustria · 01/03/2010 07:05

anyone got any advice for me on UV suits with floats in for Ethan

abdnhiker · 01/03/2010 08:08

I'm tired today after the hockey last night - no one else was watching I'm sure but a big deal for us. Thank goodness we won, I was pretty nervous going into overtime.

Amber - how are you doing?

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 01/03/2010 09:42

I watched it Abdn, it was very exciting, even though iu didn't understand what was going on at all, and the rules seem to b e very complicated! I think it's very interesting to see which sports different countries are good at and which are popular where. We were discussing the fact that in North American countries the really big sports are much more tactical and about team plays compared to Europe - like basketball, Ice Hockey, Baseball and American Football. We like the ski cross best of all in the Winter Olympics though - what a great spectator sport!

Neenz, that car seat looks very promising.

Sponge wow - a lot of decisions!

ktpie · 01/03/2010 10:31

Amber - really sorry to hear your news. Hope you are doing OK.

Sponge - good for you!

Neenz - that multimac thing looks interesting, do they fit it on top of your normal seats or do they have to remove those?

Abdn - I saw the beginning of the match then DH came in and changed the channel. Sounds like it was very exciting. We went to watch a match in Nottingham a couple of years ago, very exciting, although I nearly got hit in the face by the puck which had been my major fear about going!

We all have colds here, J is suffering the most, I don't feel too bad so far (fingers crossed).

Better go, H is waking up, he is 4 weeks old today!

Amberc · 01/03/2010 10:31

Aw thanks for all the nice thoughts everyone. Well I am well and truly not pregnant. Got a full scale period that even the cyclogest could not hold back. Did the test this morning for the sake of the clinic but I knew what it would say. Very very disappointed as you can imagine. I have asked the GP about IVF on the NHS and as I thought I am not entitled as i already have a child. I am frightened that the next cycle will fail too as we have said two is our maximum. I am going to try to lose weight and get myself healthy before I start the next. A good couple of months at least.

Self indungent post but can't really think of anything else at the moment

spongebrainbigpants · 01/03/2010 12:13

AH, dh watched and said the best team won!

We love ice hockey - have been to see a few live games and can't wait to take the boys! The school that I taught at used to have close links with a local ice hockey team, who used to come and read and work with the kids, esp the boys. One of them in particular was sex on a stick - ohmigod, he was gorgeous. Salivating just thinking about him!

Amber, it sucks big time . Hope you can do something nice this week to treat yourself.

spongebrainbigpants · 01/03/2010 12:16

ktpie, can't believe H is 4 weeks old already !

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 01/03/2010 12:54

Quick post to mark my spot and to say I'm sorry to read your news Amber.

Just a Kings Cross waiting for train home. Weekend has been hampered somewhat by terrible weather and my unexpected bout of tonsillitis. Of course, now we're going home it's beautiful Spring weather and I feel loads better!

EssieAmma · 01/03/2010 14:56

So sorry, Amber.

A v. brief post - this is the fourth post I've written; I kept writing posts and then having to close it down at the last minute because someone was at my door etc. This is being posted no matter what!

Not much to say though, I need to mark my place. Bugger, (!!) bugger about that biscuit competition. Mine were really lovely too, and the frosties ones are so moreish it's unbelievable!! Tell you what, I'll bake yours, you bake mine, and see if we would decide differently!

For everyone else - Bugger and I were in a competition to win a kitchenaid mixed on mnet. It was for submitting biscuit recipes. The mixer would look so good in my new(ish) kitchen which is coming on Thursday!!

My biscuits.

Got to go now for the rest of my teaching.

EssieAmma · 01/03/2010 14:58

Bugger there's nothing in those winning biscuits!

Upsidedowncake · 01/03/2010 20:14

Quick post

Amber, I'm so sorry. I can imagine how disapointed you are.

neenz · 01/03/2010 21:24

Hi Amber, I'm so so sorry it hasn't worked out. It sounds like a good plan to take some time out and rest and start to feel better. So sorry .

ktpie, the multimac just fits on top of your normal seats. I am really looking forward to them coming to give me a demo

Amberc · 02/03/2010 12:28

Hi all, I actually feel surprisingly OK now. I felt worse when I was waiting and now I just feel relieved to know one way or the other. I have slept better for the last two nights. I feel fairly positive in starting the next round in a few months and am determined to get healthy to give myself a better chance. Thaks for all the kind comments xx

PiggyPenguin · 02/03/2010 12:35

Glad to hear you are handling it so well Amber. You are definitely doing the right thing, waiting until you feel absolutely ready for the next attempt.

Neenz, those seats do sound interesting. Just in case you don't like them though, you can have three car seats and big boot in a picasso.

Waves to everyone else...

Amberc · 02/03/2010 16:48

Blimey it's gone very quiet - I'm sorry if I've killed the thread! We need to start thinking of a new title - er.....

abdnhiker · 02/03/2010 17:53

I'm here - just in the middle of cooking tea now and finding that I'm rather dull at the moment so nothing to add... glad you're feeling okay Amber.

You guys are the only people I know who watched the hockey - no one in RL did. sponge young hockey players are gorgeous - but since I could now be their mother, I'm forcing myself not to drool.

Had a lovely walk in the sun today with Fraser in the buggy - our nursery is finally open again! We've had 10 snow days so far this year which is apparently way more than normal.

Okay, back to tea....
