Yes, I know about the too clean thing... blah blah blah... that's why we take him to disgusting places like public play places and let him touch stuff.

no it's true, if you keep a child too clean and protected they are more likely to get sick!

Hope Q is feeling better star

BabyG has, unbelievably, slept through every night bar one since I stopped BF about 4 weeks ago. This was the incredible non-sleeping boy who would wake 2-3 times on average. He's a bugger to GET to sleep though.

He can't stand unaided, he can barely stand with me holding him! I hold him under his armpits and his legs wobble about all over ... maybe he is dancing around behind my back too that would be fab.

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/11/2009 11:18

Just a quickie, but thought I'd add that children's immune systems aren't fully developed until they are around age 6-7.

A little girl in my class just took a little boy's white board out of his desk. Wrote "I'm stupid" on it, (little boy was out of the room working with another teacher). Then she says "hey everyone! Come look what .... wrote!" Why do kids have to things like that? My class is usually so lovely and perfect!

Congratulations M!! You definitely need to get some celebration nappies 50ft.

Well done on surviving the week Pistachio. I bet it's great having your dh back.

We've been really busy here. Went to the London Aquarium yesterday and S loved it. I'd definitely recommend it as a day out and it wasn't too busy mid-week either. DP's brother is down tonight so S has been basking in all the attention.

Ronshar - I can totally sympathise with the rubbish nights. We've been struggling this week too, trying to get S to sleep in his cot all night again now that he's better. The good thing is that after some grim nights, things are gradually improving. I've got high hopes for a good sleep tonight - hope I'm not disappointed.

Jenwa - I know you've told us before (sorry - but what job do you do?

50ftQueenie · 13/11/2009 21:03

Hello everyone........

Thank you for your congratulations, I have started M on her model's diet of Marlborough Lights and black coffee.

To all those with non-sleeping babies - M hasn't slept through since we came home from holiday. The room in the cottage was very warm & our bedroom isn't so I am still pretty convinced she is cold at night. Any chance they're feeling a bit chilly at night?

Aubergenie - London Aquarium sounds like a good day out for us. We tend to go to Sealife centre whenever we're on holiday as DS loves looking at the sharks. Maybe we'll go next time ds has a bonus day off.

Pistachio - It's fabulous when the men folk come home after being away isn't it? Suddenly the one pair of hands you have is enough...... Have a long long lie-in tomorrow morning, I'm sure DH will enjoy the time with the DC as he's been away. Well done on coping on your own.

Jenwa - Your girls are just lovely. What a cute image of the two of them playing together. DO you find that now P is older they play together a lot more? My two play together loads and M gives as god as she gets if ds annoys her!

Myjob - I told ds about your brave little boy and he was ed. He was such a baby about his jab & refuses to believe that anyone could be brave enough not to cry.I meant to say thank you yesterday for your kind words about me chatting to M all the time. I think it is because I find it hard to ever shut up! Hope N feels better soon and that it is only a tooth. Oh and of course she can't free-stand, her feet are so tiny it would be like us trying to balance En Pointe!

CSWS - Aw poor baby boy. I'm sure he'll be back to his normal self in no time, could he be coming down with something?

MamaG - I am still amazed that BabyG has stopped bfing of his own accord. He was such a boob monster wasn't he?

I took M to be weighed today. She has put on some weight despite the horrible poos (which have stopped now we have stopped cows milk). She is now 20lbs 11 which puts her on the 50th percentile. We also had her length measured as she seems to have slowed down and she is 80cm and still on the 91st percentile! I can't believe it!

Evening all,
Much calmer here now. Had a lovely 2 days at work being a grown-up. No one shouted at me, threw things at me, called me stupid, or tried to sit on the same chair as me and press the buttons on my computer for me!
50ft, DD has slept much better in a vest + fleecy sleepysuit + winter grobag. We did try her in a long sleeve top + cotton sleepysuit (+ vest + grobag) and she slept really well but I was convinced she'd overheat so I didn't sleep .
DD can't quite stand on her own yet! She was 18lb 10 at last weigh in (2 weeks ago) and there's no way I'm letting her near an open cup yet! (we have carpet not moppable floor!)
