How is he now star? has his breathing eased?
I agree that a call to NHS24 would be a good idea if you are concerned.
All ok here, DS2 has still been really very very difficult all weekend. Hair trigger tantruns and just no reasoning with him. DH has taken a very hard line with him, which I'm not entirely convinced by, but at least he's doing the whole hands on help thing. He saw the state I was in by Wed night last week. I can't go through another week like that.
My boss asked me if there was any way I could go back full time and get DH to be a house husband. DHs face was followed by a phrase which translated from the obscene means "Golly, I'd rather not..."
tee hee.

Wow, the end of an era for you Myjob. I'm glad it happened gently, like you wanted. Well done N!

Star - Hope you're OK.

Aww MyJob, that's lovely, I'm glad it went that way.

Star, how is Q now? Hope he's feeling better.

I'm a bit better in myself today. I'm contemplating a trip to Wales tomorrow with Pops to see the in-laws on holiday there, will see how I feel tomorrow.

Took ages to get Pops to sleep tonight, I'm pretty sure it was her teeth but I@m not sure which ones. There is one at the very back that seems very lumpy, is that likely? She only has 6 at the front.

Morning!
Any sign of star? Hope Qs Ok.
myjob, well done, you've done a fantastic job bf, glad you've had a gentle finish.
HMM, are you off to Wales? The weather here was appalling just for the 15 minute stagger to school!
I have 6 minutes while my hair dye finishes developing. Not just where it's supposed to be I suspect, the trouble with being v shortsighted is I usually dye quite a lot of the bathroom as well as I apply it .
DS2 refused to get out of bed this morning, so we had the same old battle to leave on time. Though I did manage to drop him off at preschool minus Bunny and Rattly Bear who are now whizzing around in the washing machine .
Hope everyone else Ok.

Any ideas on getting Q to spit out whatever he's coughing up and swallowing back down repeatedly?

Well done myjob .

How is Q now star? I don't think you really can make him spit out stuff tbh, but it'll come out in yukky nappies instead.

How are you feeling now pistachio?

Perfectly possible for there to be a molar coming up hmm. Ds only has 6 teeth, plus a 7th breaking through at the front and a molar getting very bumpy and close at the back. Dd's 4th tooth was a molar too!

50ft - I didn't understand your dh's status today, unless I did but the other respondents didn't .

Hi everyone will catch up properly tomorrow when I have a proper internet connection
Myjob congrats on end of bf and glad it's been happy for you
Pepper I hope the hair dye turns out well
Pistachio cuddle up warm and feel better
Hmm have fun in wales
That's all I remember at moment and such a hassle to scroll back on blackberry!

Q is coughing up something who knows what then swallowing back down and I'm convinced it's what is causing his wheezing and darth vader breathing.
He keeps coughing up the same stuff. I might try leaning him fwd and let gravity take over....
Dh is staying home with him tomorrow. I'll stay home wed if he's still not better.... I NEVER take sick days....
His fever had broken for a bit but now it's back.
Dr said NOT to come in. they don't want his germs in the surgery understandable.

Dh forgot to get the numbers from work he needed to call for a sub and internet not working and AGES to look up on blackberry.
He will also do lesson plans tonight and I will email them from work tomorrow morning.
WHY can't he be organized and do it in advance like I did?? I required nothing from HIM to sort out my sub stuff for today!!
He is so irresponsible and annoying!!!!!!

Well, Q will be up in a bit and want in bed with me, waking every 30-40 minutes.... So I beTter go. Oh, there he is now crying.

aubergenie · 16/11/2009 21:20

Star - I hope Q starts to feel better soon. And you too Pistachio!!

Quick question to those of you still breastfeeding. How many feeds are you giving during the day? S is fine with a feed in the morning and one at night while I'm at work then has more on the days we're together. Is there any reason why I should be limiting his feeds in the day?

Also, do you still feel comfortable bfing in public now your LOs are older? I was feeding S in Tate Modern last week and felt like a few people were looking strangely at me. I'm not sure if they really were, or if it's my paranoia.

No reason that I can think of to limit his feeds in the day aubergenie.

I don't worry about feeding ds in public, because with me still feeding dd (not in public) he still seems like a little baby and fine to feed! But that said, we don't often, except occasionally at toddler groups, because he's usually far too distracted when we're out and about. I still fed dd happily at this age when out and about though.

Hey all, I can't sleep with bloody AD-induced heartburn, have just been sick with it too, meh Unfortunately I threw up all the gaviscon I'd taken and can't bear to take any more now.

I'm off to Wales with DH and Poppy tomorrow, DH wanted to come so we delayed it a day to his day off. It's pouring down outside here though at the moment, hope it's better tomorrow.

Day 5(ish) of my weightwatchers diet and it's going fairly well I think. Not actually got round to weighing myself yet tho

Poppy still has milk 4 times a day, I try to just BF first thing in the morning and last thing at night tho. I've been using the growing-up milk because she seems to get less of a rash with it and because we're always out when she needs it and it's easier. When I'm at home I've been giving her half-and-half in an attempt to change to fully cows milk.

aubergenie · 17/11/2009 07:07

Thanks for the replies ladies. I think it's probably my own paranoia. I've had a few comments from people I know recently - one in particular is a really good friend - and it upset me a bit actually. I just need to toughen up.

Anyway, how are people feeling today? How's Q?
Any better Pistachio?

Hope you have a good time in Wales HMM. It sounds like a change of scene might do you good.

Gah, don't want to go to work. Am on playground duty and dinner duty today which means I don't get a proper break all day.

StarExpat · 17/11/2009 08:31

aubergenie I wouldn't worry about what others think. Do what works for you I'm often worried about what others think of my parenting decisions, so a bit odd coming from me .... But I do believe that!

Q's temp is back at 103. I'm hoping it breaks this morning. he's home with DH. I'm going to stay at home with him tomorrow if he doesn't improve. He's even wheezing when he cries. Poor little man. I just feel so sorry for him!! I'm also going to bring him into the dr this afternoon when I get home and demand to have him seen. I don't care if they don't want him in there.

He was burning hot all night and would only sleep ON me and when he woke, he'd guzzle half of a sippy cup of water, burp, then cry cry cry and then eventually settle back to sleep on me... then wake, flail, kick... the whole thing all over again. I am exhausted. I wish it were me staying hom etoday But I have to come into work today. yuck. yuck yuck. He won't take much milk, only water and he'll eat banana, but not a lot at once and nothing else.

Sorry to moan on and on and on. I just feel like crying and I'm at the end of my tether!!
Car still has a problem and not seen or fixed yet, plumbing problems still, no internet connection at home, having someone aroudn to fix it today hopefully... dh needing so much stuff done for him... ugh!@!!!!!!! sorry to moan. Feel free to ignore me

KSal · 17/11/2009 09:02

Oh Star, i really feel for you, you sound exhausted . Its so hard when little ones are ill as you get so little sleep and there's so much more to deal with. Everything is getting on top of you.

I hope Q starts to feel better soon, that is a high temperature.

I'm at home with Em today as she's been throwing up, my MIL's school has 36 off sick (out of 200), it seems like there are a lot of winter nasties doing the rounds.
