I'm glad it's not the number 1 name. I always have at least 2 Olivias in my classes. It's not the end of the world, but I want Q to not have to have his initial called after his name

I gave him the choc in a moment of desperation. It was offered by a child who was with us and Q was screaming, so I let him have it and the smile on his face was more enormous than I have EVER seen.

Ekka · 10/12/2009 19:49

Star - its all downhill from now on you know

Honeymoonmummy · 10/12/2009 22:32

Hey all, god I haven't been on for aaages, you're nearly on a new thread! I've been really busy with Christmas. I've got my Christmas do tomorrow night and I actually have something I like to wear!!

I've never not BF'ed Poppy last thing so we had a trial run tonight and she was asleep by 8!! I don't normally finish BF till 9! I went out to the gym so DH didn't have an opportunity to call for me if he needed help. She was a bit upset but she went to sleep without any rocking! So all systems go for tomorrow night! I'm getting a taxi home so it'll be my first night of proper drinking since I became PG eek!!!

I'm doing a Santa Dash on Sunday too so if anyone feels generous I would appreciate some sponsorship as I've only just applied today! Link is on FB.

I went out shopping the other day and bought myself LOADS of new clothes for work, so I'm feeling much better about going back now I have new clothes to show off! I've not done much Christmas shopping yet, mind you!!

I'm definitely much better on the PND front too. I don't know how much weight I've lost as I've not weighed myself this week but I've definitely lost some more.

Wish me luck for tomorrow guys, it could get messy!!!

hello! i went to Emma's christmas singalong at nursery yesterday, it was very cute. There were quite a few babies in yesterday so lots of shaking maracas and not so much singing. Emma had a little part to play - she had to pop a coin in someone's hand for a mince pie during a song i have never heard before.... i've got a feeling there are going to be lots of songs i have never heard before over the next few years!

myjob, we have both got 2 weeks off over christmas... which i cannot wait for, i am exhausted and really looking forward to spending time with emma over christmas and really get into the festive spirit. There's a winter fair in the town square on sunday with carols etc so starting to get rather excited about christmas.

HMM good luck for tonight.... but even more so good luck for saturday morning

ronshar · 11/12/2009 13:52

Ksal, have you heard Wind the Bobbin up yet? It will drive you mental..
Did you cry a little bit? I always do at any school play. Even at DD1 talent show I was having to wipe away at tear. The smaller and cuter the better. DD2 nativity next week I will be a mess!!

Star chocoltae is good for you. When will you understand that

Got to go as christmas tree lights to put up and sort out.

KSal · 11/12/2009 15:24

ronshar it felt like a bit of rite of passage for both of us... emma's first show for parents and my first time sneaking out of work to go to a child's event . It was really sweet and i had to concentrate very hard not to cry when she spotted me in the audience and started pointing and shouting

what is this bobbin of which you speak? I'll look forward to that

4 hrs sleep last night. Raging cold. Teething ds (2 molars finally have a point peeking through the gum). Living in bombsite. But just had 4 squares of fave choc (Waitrose dark choc with Amaretti - yum) so life isn't all bad .

Evening all. Stan likes winding the bobbing too. Although he's not as advanced as N and can't join in with the words.

KSal - that sounds very cute.

I went out with some friends last night and had a quick dash around the shops beforehand for some Christmas presents. Annoyingly I managed to go home and leave all my shopping in the restaurant. And I wasn't even pissed. Fortunately they're keeping it for me, but I've got to find the time to go back and pick it up. Gah!

HMM - hope you're managing to pace yourself tonight.

Just watched The Restaurant on the Iplayer and I can't believe who's through to the final!!

50ftChristmasTree · 11/12/2009 21:57

It's been quite because I've not been around. We are home and I have agonising sinus pain (like Myjob). I will be back tomorrow ladies......

Aubergenie - Hell, yeah! I can't believe it either! DH and I were watching through our hands at points (Cooky Classes - ha ha ha!!!).

Ekka · 11/12/2009 22:10

Well we have dd down with the lurgy now. She is having it far worse than ds - he was only sick twice, she has been sick loads since about 4 poor little girl.... I hate my kids being ill, I just want to fix it straight away

CSWS - enjoy the chocolate! Shame about the lack of sleep though. Lets hope tonight is better.

50ft and Myjob - you have my sincere sympathies! Luckily my sinuses have settled down now.

Songs wise, ds prefers wheels on the bus and Old Macdonald, but to be fair he'll dance to anything and tries to copy all the words and actions. He loves the Meg & Mog books and one of them has a page which says 'BOOM' and he always joins in at that page I think it may be his favourite word. He got his first pair of proper shoes this week (half price - £15 in Clarks sale!) so he's truly a toddler now.... I'm getting broody again .

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/12/2009 07:40

Oh have another then Ekka! Fabulous!

pistachio speaking from an unbiased view... she is the cutest one in that photo Very sweet.

no clue what winding the bobbins is...

Q loves all music but doesn't sing, just dances... to everything

csws for the difficult nights and days!

aubergenie that sounds like something I would do! I hope you get to the restaurant to get it back soon

myjob you need a nice relaxing few hours to yourself. Can you have that when DH is home one of the days? I hope you feel better soon!

50ft I hope you feel better soon and yes I do think that is why our thread has been so quiet

Ekka yuck for all that sick! Broody again

oh meant to say, Ksal so sweet about the performance. I was thinking when you said she saw you in the audience how grown up that sounds! I'm not sure Q would stay in one place and do what she did. He'd just run around.... that's amazing!

ronshar I never pegged you for the teary at school performances type either . As a teacher, I see a few parents at every performance fighting back tears, some letting them flow and some are really good at keeping them hidden!

StarExpat · 12/12/2009 07:55

ooohhh that's so sweet and so good for motor skills

Easily done, Pistachio, easily done.

How was last night HMM?

I'm exhausted. We went to a free Baby Loves Disco event in the Royal Festival Hall. It was bedlam, but great fun.

There was also a chocolate festival there and I thought of you, CSWS, when I tasted some chocolate from this kit. It's dairy free, and sweetened with agave nectar which is low GI (I use it quite a lot in cooking instead of sugar) and it tastes absolutely gorgeous! I'm thinking of buying a kit myself - apparently it's actually good for you!

50ft and Myjob - how are the sinuses today?
