Big huge congrats to N!! Yay!!! Well done! And blowing the nose - wow! I want Q to learn that. We'll have to come over again to get some lessons
I'm still in about your period free 2 years!

jenwa · 08/12/2009 15:26

Yeh to n well done it seems like you are having an eventful day

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/12/2009 15:29

Well done N!

Just a fleeting post as just got up from snooze, and need to get ds up before going to get dd in 10 mins.

I need to get some more Christmas presents for ds. I thought he had loads, but must have given him too many for his birthday, and then split one of the others up for his calendar, so now he's a bit short. I have bought them enormous personalised sacks, and his stuff looks lost in his, as his main present (that double slide/tunnel thing that I got off ebay) obv doesn't go in it.

Ooooo! Well done N, at long last young lady. Yay and boo to period Myjob. At least you know that everything is still working.

Jenwa - Read your FB update. Hope everything's gone well and that Jess is on the mend now.

CSWS - We have spent loads more on DS than M but his pillow case (family tradition, Father Christmas presents go in a pillow case) is going to look empty compared to M's because he's got smaller, grown-up toys. I just hope he's not disappointed...... actually the way he's been behaving lately he's lucky the Big Man is coming to see him at all!

Well done Aubergenie. That result must have made it all that stress and de - fuzzing worthwhile.

M is still unwell! I hope she's better soon as she is being very demanding and rather naughty. She seems to be unable to walk anywhere unless it is to do something naughty. I am worn out!

I don't judge others for what they feed their DC . I'm only hard on myself for it I actually think your DS is a lucky boy!

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/12/2009 17:57

What, not even if they live on fruit shoots and sausage rolls?

From about age 8, my parents used to hide our stockings in our bedrooms when we were sleeping on christmas eve (quite well hidden in fact!!) so when we woke on christmas morning, that was the first thing we did, search for our stockings (took AGES), then when we found them, my sister and I could sit together and enjoy seeing what was inside. I really think it was their plan to be able to sleep in so we wouldn't wake them extra early!

Q's kitchen and cleaning trolley arrived today The kitchen is a mini kitchen and really tiny! (was only 15 pounds) and will fit so nicely in the corner of of living room of our 1 bed flat! yay! When we finally move (whenever this place sells!!) we can get one that's a bit bigger I suppose. It's perfect for his size now, too.

I found a woman selling a nearly new bunch of wooden puzzles with pegs. I'm going to get him some of those as Q can accurately put shapes into his shape sorter now! I know your babies have probably been doing this for months, but Q has only been doing this for about 2.5 weeks. Before, he used to need us to tell him which of the 6 holes the shape went into.

sorry for cutting off myjob btw - my fb chat isn't going so well lately. I can't seem to stay "available" - prob something to do with my connection... ugh! Time to get internet people back here.

StarExpat · 08/12/2009 20:58

Pistachio he does this standing up - he'd never sit and do something like that, much like your DS! He will get a shape, put it in, then run about the room either with his mop or a rag or pushing something or just squealing. Then he'll go, pick up another shape, put it in and cycle continues!

He even watches TV standing up, walking around. I'll try that - sitting him down. Good idea! We bought the snowman at blockbuster a couple weeks ago because it was 2 pounds!

I have started making him sit in his highchair to eat, though. We have to stuff the food in fast, though because he doesn't last too long.

I really feel like he just never ever stops except when he sleeps!!

StarExpat · 08/12/2009 21:01

DH and I can't figure out why he's such a pudgy guy still since he really is on the move nonstop! haha

We also build towers out of blocks for him and he comes running through to crash it all down. He's tried a handful of times to make his own tower, but we need bigger blocks, they are too small, he gets too frustrated and ends up just throwing them out of his way, then running down the hallway and back laughing and babbling

StarExpat · 08/12/2009 21:09

btw pistachio all of those animal sounds is a big "sign of intelligence".
Q does nothing like that. I hope he will talk someday He understands what we say and can follow instructions, but still prefers to babble. I can tell he's trying to imitate some words now, but not very successfully!

Oh, question about ears - he's been poking his finger in his ear a lot past few days and put his toothbrush in it and twisted last night and also laid on my collarbone, the knobby bit that sticks out and rubbed his ear on that most of hte night last night! I think he may have gotten water in it from falling over in the bathtub.... twice (from sitting) no fever. How do I get it out if it is water? It's really bothering him.

Did he teach her to build them so he could knock them down?
N sings and says a lot of words. She's a very clever little girl

StarExpat · 09/12/2009 12:34

How scary myjob I'm glad it turned out ok.

Is N taking a good nap today?

How sweet about DS' reaction to her steps!
