Hey is anyone around over the christmas holiday (18th december - 3rd January)? I'm off work for these weeks, and would fancy a meet up if anyone is around and bored

fancy fancy fancy.
I think that is such a fun word to use! I no longer think of it as just meaning all dressed nicely ready for a black tie event or something beautiful and elegant

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/12/2009 13:33

Glad that ds is ok myjob.

I'd be up for a holiday meet star . I was thinking of going here Christmas week - would you fancy joining us for that?

StarExpat · 09/12/2009 14:40

Possibly! Depends on if I get a new sat nav for christmas or not
I'm hoping to organize some days out within the 2 weeks that dh and I will be stir crazy home 24/7 together with Q so that I can get time away from dh and time alone with Q --and nice friends allow DH to get the last bits of painting...etc done around the flat so we can get it on the market asap!

Oh Myjob how scary for you. So glad your ds is OK. I think asking for biscuits is a good sign!

BTW I sent Rachie a message through FB. She is fine but just really bogged down with work and has been poorly too. If we manage to get a meet-up organised in the new year she'd be up for it. Talking of which, shall we try and arrange something?

DP and I are doing a children's first aid course tomorrow. It's being run by the local Sure Start centre and is free and includes a creche, which is brilliant.

DP has been offered some freelance work next week. Yippee! It's only a few days but I'm just glad he's going to be working.

Did 50ft go away on a camping trip? And where is everyone? Do you all have families to look after or something!

50ftChristmasTree · 10/12/2009 09:12

No not camping. We're staying at my mum's as we have no heating or hot water at home. We've been here since the weekend! I feel too rude to sit on my laptop all evening while I'm here, it's not like sitting at home ignoring DH. I have been reading your posts but I haven't had the time to reply! M is a HUGE pickle round here as there is no baby proofing at all so I actually have to do some parenting. I'm knackered!

Ekka · 10/12/2009 10:13

Myjob - how scary, glad ds seems ok though.

50ft, parenting is so much harder away from home....

Well, M is down with a vomiting bug and currently asleep in my arms poor chap. Am gutted as we were supposed to be going to stay with my gm tomorrow and celebrate an early xmas but we daren't go now . Maybe we'll try & go at New Year. At least he didn't pick xmas day tho!!!

Ekka · 10/12/2009 10:15

Oooh - due a new thread soon, just in time for Xmas!

StarExpat · 10/12/2009 10:58

ohmygod
has anyone tried these chocolate"nobake" cookies with loads of oats, coconut(?), prob loads of butter and sugar too! I had two. one had peanut butter in it, too! They were only little though... they are sooooooooooo yummy. I just ate one and feel like I need to get the recipe to make my own! I'm going to gain 20lbs just thinking about it. Apparently they are dead easy - take like 5-10 min to make, no baking and best frozen. Maybe I"ll make those and use my cookie cutters and freeze them instead of sugar christmas cookies. mmmmmmmmmmm

StarExpat · 10/12/2009 10:59

Something very wrong is happening to me! I don't usually get hooked on stuff like that! Not to mention a whole post about some crap for your body piece of food!

I'm waiting for the person who made them to email it to me, then I will post it I'm SURE it's loads of sugar!! I always put in 1/3 of the sugar (sometimes substitute honey, not much though) in all baking recipes and it always tastes the same, so I'll try that again with this one.

StarExpat · 10/12/2009 11:26

btw I made wholemeal yorkshire toad in the hole a couple days ago - with steamed asparagus instead of sausage. It was delicious!

I did "make" vegetable gravy, though (as per csws' suggestion).

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/12/2009 15:01

Yum yum star!

Had my scan today. All fine. Due 29th June (only a day out from where I thought).

OP posts:
Ekka · 10/12/2009 15:38

Only one in there then CSWS? I think you'd have posted a bit more if it had been 2 .

Glad to hear alls ok though. I preferred having dd in June than ds in October - better time of year I think, less of the wrapping up and unwrapping every time you go anywhere!

Ekka · 10/12/2009 18:25

Ooops, did I kill the thread, being cheeky to CSWS????

We're going for an early bedtime tonight - ds is back on form though has barely eaten anything today and dd didn't have a nap so they're tired now. Dh is out at his Xmas dinner tonight - I'm hoping both kids sleep well so I get a peaceful evening to myself

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/12/2009 18:35

Yes, never do it again .

I gave Q a cadbury chocolate button This all must stop. I'm turning into a monster.

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/12/2009 19:00

Oh yes, pure evil star .
Did he love it?
And did you know that there were 14 Qs in England and Wales in 2008?
