Sazzles If Dizzy and MrDizzy were to make a side trip to HERE then MrSazzles would be tied with MrDizzy and MrTwilight on the number of AUG08DHs they'd met.

I better stop before I use up this entire thread with 2 second posts. Busy all weekend but will try to read and keep up. Pilates Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday next week. WOW! I'll only end up have taken 20 classes instead of 24 because the kids were sick but HEY that's pretty good for my first Challenge....and only 2 full months of Pilates. Feeling AWESOME!!!

oh very jealous ooops...

i was also 14 in 1989.. dodgy short hair, glasses and paisley shirt here.. thankfully no pics!!! xxx

poppysocks · 07/11/2009 08:59

LOL at all the '80s pics. There are some attractive ladies on this thread, despite the fashions of the time. I think I managed to avoid a camera for most of the 80s and the virtually the whole of the '90s [result]. I did have a few photos fromthat era but DH chucked them out accidentally a few years ago when he was clearing out the garage after a mouse invasion. I could have been annoyed but tbh I'm still more pleased that he dealt with the mice and their accompanying grot and feel that the photos were an acceptable sacrifice to make .

Poor, poor you loti. Hope DH picks up soon, if only to give you some respite.

Exceptionally of your Oz trip oops. The one thing I wanted to do pre-sprogs was go to Oz. NZ and SE Asia but managed only a bit of the latter via work trips, which SO doesn't count. We are however, going to broach the subject of my Mum coming here to look after the girls next year so that DH and I can use up all his airmiles on a break to NY - entirely inspired by you dizzy. Soooo may well be accepting all hotel/restaurant etc. recommendations soon as I suspect my expectations have changed slightly since my last trip as a student....

Not much planned today as will be off to work at about 5pm, for about 12 hours . Same sort of thing for the next few days. Don't mind enormously actually as it means DH will have to get hte girls up and out for the next few days giving me the day to lie in and get the christmas shopping done.

Must go, DD2 currently wandering around sucking the water out of the aquadraw pen .

hotterpotter · 07/11/2009 09:39

Hey Poppy, hope you enjoy your night shifts and get some peace when you get back

Poor you loti I hope H has a miraculous recovery and gives you a hand later. Could you snuggle up on the sofa with your DDs and let them watch telly while you snooze?

TS your photos are great and what fab hair you had at 18. I don't want to upset loti but my DC both slept for 12 hours last night which is a good job as I was on getting up duty after a little bit too much wine last night. DS also let me put him to bed with no fuss last night, the last three times I have tried he's cried and cried for half an hour until DH took over, at which point he miraculously shut up and went strainht to sleep

DS currently dancing like a mad fool to some rubbish on the radio, tis very cute

Cyteen lol at ultralol

Oops wow I went to Oz in 1988 (the tickets were more expensive then than they are now!) and had a ball. Just don't go to Canberra...

Really ought to go and tidy up a lot bit as my Grandma will be here soon. After 2 hours of unsupervised play the house is a wreck...

miamla · 07/11/2009 09:47

i'm loving all the 80s pics! you're inspiring me to dig out some of mine!

mrMiamla has met 3 Aug08'ers and 3 MrAug08'ers

On my phone so apologies if is dodgy.

Weekend good so far. We survived night in room together. We had to wake ds again poor chap, after 12.5 hrs this time.

Dd been a bit excitable but otherwise good.

Glad dizzy made it to ny despite mr dizzy's poorly state.

miamla who is your dps's 3rd mner and dh? Am thinking, me, pertelote.......?preg1?. Intrigued now. My dh only met miamla and mrmiamla but he'd be in his element at a full scale meetup. He is much braver and more social than me .

Eyeing up a mac on boden's site. A friend we've bumped into here has one from last yr which is lovrly so looking at this yrs ones (not AS good but...)....

miamla · 07/11/2009 14:38

yup, albs its preg1 and her DH. i'm really pleased you're having a good time. And i'm not at all about H sleeping for 12.5 hours! T was awake between 1am and 6am this morning (that's me yawning!)

CaptainCaveman · 07/11/2009 15:59

Hey gals, loving the photos..... I'll see if I can add a shocker or two!

Albs so glad H is home and better, how are you feeling about it now?

Hi everyone

oopsandbabycoconut · 07/11/2009 17:40

Evening all

DH and I off our to dinner tonight with the ILs babysitting.

DD slept amazingly last nigth again - she slept 7-6 came in had a little BF (I don't think there is much there for her poor girl) then demanded 'ilk, ilk' guzzled 4 oz of milk and I had to wake her at 8 as we are going out.

I bought DH Ghostbusters on bluray today so guess what is on now??!!

Snot - We are routing via Dubai as the tickets are Emirates. I wanted Singapore to stay at Raffles but the deal was only via Dubai.

cyteen · 07/11/2009 19:55

Hope you're having a brilliant time out with your DH oops I misread your post initially and thought you were going out for dinner with your ILs...thought to myself 'blimey, you're forgiving'

Where is everyone else? It's never been so quite on the August 08 thread. I feel cold and lonely

cyteen · 07/11/2009 19:56

quiet [rolleyes] Curse that Chilean sauvignon.

alittlebitshy · 07/11/2009 19:58

Well, I am on Henry guard duty again here in walsingham. Dh did offer, to give him the credit due, but I am being rather precious about listening out while he is asleep and would rather do it myself while away. Hence I am on a chair outside our door with my phone which on has 27 % battery and my book (the sentor's wife if anyone cares .)

After he had his nap we caught up with the rest of them at the beach. Kind of. We parked where dh though was righ, but it was 40 fecking min walk to the beach, and as we had paid and displayed we didn't think we had enough cash to move to another car park. So we had lots of excercise, but h screamed all the way back to the car cos he wanted me to carry him when the only offers were buggy or dh (I can do short distances but he is so heavy).

V of oops trip! Byt not of long haul flight (with or without small child). We did nz when dd was 3.5. She was so good but it was still hellish partly as we had to make ourselves sleep when she did. I also had chest infection verging on pleurisy and thought was going to die while stopped over in singapore (fabbo airport).

miamla at up from 1 til6. Poor you. Even when sleep has been bad here the longest we've ever had in one go was 2 hrs when he was ill at 9months.

Battery looking low so will stop for now....

miamla · 07/11/2009 19:59

hi cyteen, i'm here...dinner for one and i too am cold and lonely!
sounds like you've got a better solution to cold than a bowl of soup...wine is a great idea!
