Happy Birthday, Luke. And Happy Birthday to Nkweto's Alexandra, and MamaGoose's Indigo. Yes I used a crib-sheet.

SilveryMoon · 04/02/2010 09:48

Happy birthday to Alex and Indigo and happy birthday to Coco

rosieposey · 04/02/2010 10:20

Happy birthday Fab Feb babies!!! Well this last year has flown by hasn't it? Day after tomorrow and Milo made his rather snowy entrance into the world, PT said she keeps convincing herself that A is still a little baby but he's in reality more a toddler - i know! i keep doing exactly the same thing but i'm sure they dont get to toddlerhood just yet do they? Isn't it about 18 mo to 2 yrs? Well he still looks like a baby to me and im sticking with that

Am also surprised there have been no announcements yet, i had a nostaglgic look on this years thread for Feb just a few days ago and thought to myself ahhhh ... i love newborns (then i remembered how bloody knackered i was).

Sounds like a few of us have still got babies that wont sleep - Milo is great for through the night but will hardly sleeps in the daytime (unless we are in the car) he wont go to sleep in a buggy (refuses to be laid down) and he wont go to sleep unless either me or DH lay down with him too. Am worried as i know he needs sleep for developmental purposes but hes just a nightmare to get to sleep during the day - 1 nap if im lucky and then only for about half an hour.

I hope H is feeling better MOS - its horrid when they are poorly and especially when they are so little.

TulipsInTheRain · 04/02/2010 10:28

happy birthday Luke, Alex and Indigo

A seems ok, he won't let me check his mouth but he's cheerful and slept for 3.5 and 7 hours last night which was nice

dinkystinky · 04/02/2010 11:04

Happy birthday to Alexandra and Indigo (and Luke again) - hope all the birthday bubbas have great days. And happy birthday to Coco too (wherever she may be...)

LittleMissNorty · 04/02/2010 11:24

Happy birthday to Alexandra and Indigo too....hope you have great days

SweetTalkinWoman · 04/02/2010 12:13

Happy Birthday Fab Feb babies!!!

Good luck with the party SM.

Just not enough hours in the day for me at the moment. Off to get DD from nursery to take her to have her second hearing test...

nkweto · 04/02/2010 16:16

Hi all,

Came to announce Alexandra's birthday and all you lovely ladies had already remembered !! Thank you..

Life is very chaotic at the moment but kids and I will be in Birmingham by end of next week..

Happy Birthday Luke and Indigo ! ... Can't believe that this time last year we were all in new baby bliss ...

Have not caught up with the thread but will do soon.x.

TulipsInTheRain · 04/02/2010 18:38

[gak]

he's got a chunk of gum that's partially severed and is hanging down in front of his tooth.... looks fairly revolting. Guess it'll fall off of it's own accord at some point right?

hello nkweto.... good luck with the move, i hope all goes well up in Birmingham.

dinkystinky · 04/02/2010 20:33

Bleurgh Tulips - that sounds yucky. Have you got any anbesol? May be worth putting it on the gum where he's hurt it as its an anaesthetic and antiseptic. Maybe worth going to see your Dr about it??

Nkweto -lovely to see you on and hope the lovely Alexandra had a fab birthday today- best of luck for the move to Brum.

mumoverseas · 05/02/2010 07:01

PT, poor A, that sounds awful. Wonder if its worth taking him to a dentist to see what they say or doctor as dinky says?

nkweto hope all goes well with the move.

Hope all the 'snowy' babies had a lovely birthday yesterday. Brings back memories doesn't it of all the frantic posts from mums not able to get to hospital last year.

H is a little better today although the nights are still awful. It was my turn last night to be on duty and of course the little rat/love was up most of the night and I managed to wake up with a migraine.

Just making plans for H's party next Friday. It seems to have snowballed a little. Looking at the list, we have 42 adults and around 30 kids

katieblirdsnest · 05/02/2010 08:08

pt it really does not sound like a pleasant sight. hope he's ok but i probably would take him to be checked out.

mos hope H starts to make much better progress soon. i can't believe the size of your party but it does sound like you've got a sociable compound.

nkweto hope all goes well with the move. i'm sure you'll be settled soon but it will no doubt be a bit emotional for a while.

ds slept through for the first time in a week or so so I'm feeling fantastic. he only woke at 7am for a bottle and then went straight back to sleep, where he still is! however, he did manage to get completely out of his sleeping bag. i'm fairly sure i did the zip up (am certain on the poppers). he's such a wriggly monkey,

SilveryMoon · 05/02/2010 08:29

PT POor A, that sounds awful.
mos Hope H has some good naps today so you can get some rest in.

The party went really well, all the kids had a great time. There is chocolate everywhere and my livingroom rug is well and truely fit for the bin (should have moved it really), but it was a great day!

Horrible night though.
Must dash. Talk later x

dinkystinky · 05/02/2010 12:04

Glad you had a lovely party Silverymoon but sorry about rubbish night. If any consolation, rubbish nights are continuing aplenty in the dinky household too. Very of KBN's full night of sleep last night - need to get I over to have words with Danny.

On a brighter note, one of Danny's absolute favouritest books ever is the Very Hungry Caterpillar - was reading it to him at bedtime last night and I swear he was trying to say "sausage" Trust our gourmet baby to have a food related first word.... DS1's first words were Mama, Book, Ball and then "Mmm... toast" before Daddy. Dh was v put out....

MoS - that birthday party sounds more like a hoopla than a party to me! Go easy on yourself - buffet for adults and kids and bubbles and music for activities is what I'd suggest... Hope H really is on the mend and last night was the last bad night for you.

All those of you who were Twilight fans - am now hooked on "The Mortal Instruments" trilogy by Cassandra Clare - just consumed books 1 to 3 and going back to the start again. Is abit Twilight meets Buffy in style - but less of the miserable mooning around that Bella does in Twilight. Rollicking good read...

SweetTalkinWoman · 05/02/2010 12:40

Ooh - another first word here!!! If you pretend to speak on a phone (a remote control works just as well!) then pass it to Sam, he holds it to his mouth then says "eyo" - not quite sure how to spell that phonetically.

After a run of a few weeks of 12 hour sleeps from both DC's, we have had a disturbed few nights from Sam so I'm comiserating.

Not had the opportunity to get on MN much at the moment, but been trying to read posts on my Blackberry - thing is, it doesn't diplay who the messages are from so I've had to guess a bit!

Tulips - A's gum sounds horrible, hope it's not bothering him too much?

SM - glad the party was a success and sorry you had a rubbish night. Will be keeping fingers crossed that you get another 3 hour nap today with the boys.

KBN - very of your trip to Roma sounds like the sort of thing we could all do with to recharge our batteries.

How's everyone else doing?

DD passed her hearing test yesterday, but they would like to refer her to a paediatrician to check her development due to her behaviour and some of her mannerisms. Am hoping this will be a waste of time...

Better dash - got lots of work to get through over the next few weeks and using up my holiday, so only doing 3 days most weeks. Hurrah!

TulipsInTheRain · 05/02/2010 14:10

A can say 'Mama' and a word that is most definitely a version of no as it's accompanied by vigourous head shaking.

he's way behind the older two at the same age though as both of them had a fair few words and much more babble at this age. He mostly only does vowel sounds, no constonants other than 'MMMMM'

dinkystinky · 05/02/2010 14:51

at Sam and A's words. Pretty sure Danny cant say sausage but he was having a damn good try - otherwise he's still in vowels/dolphin speak and pointing mode at the moment.

Hope the last few weeks at work fly by STW - v of 3 day weeks.

TulipsInTheRain · 06/02/2010 14:39

A has just had a ball playing outside with the big kids... he was running up and down the street in his new shoes and had a huge spin on the trike for well over an hour with the older kids pushing him.

where'd my baby go?

rosieposey · 06/02/2010 18:25

Ahhh Tulips A is sounding really quite advanced, no words here from Milo at all yet, he can say mum mum mum and muma but he doesn't seem to connect the two with me. I can remember my DD1 Virtually singing happy birthday when she was one. I have a feeling that his three elder sisters are doing all of the talking for him all he seems to be
interested in is blowing big raspberries!

Well he is a year old today! Lots of chocolate cake has been enjoyed by us all and Milo has had some lovely pressies (mostly in the night garden stuff) so we are waiting for him to conk out a bit later then will pop out for something to eat leaving big sisters in charge This time last year he was an hour and a half old and the last thing i felt like was a curry.

STW they are probably just being overcautious and covering their backs. My DD2 had loads of tests because she took ages to do everything (and accompanied it with some funny behaviour too here and there) and she fine, just did things in her own time and her own way.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

TulipsInTheRain · 06/02/2010 18:46

Awwwwww, happy birthday milo

congrats rosie, glad you had a lovely day and i hope your meal out is lovely and relaxing

It's quite funny to see A running around and playing big kid games as he is extremely dinky and looks like a 7/8 month old in size.... until he gets up and runs around the room! He's just growing into ds1's clothes that ds1 grew out of at 6/7 months old and the shoes we bought him are size 2.5.... the shop only had two pairs of shoes small enough for him! dd and ds were size 4 and 5 when they had their first pair of shoes!

LittleMissNorty · 06/02/2010 21:07

Happy birthday Milo

mumoverseas · 07/02/2010 06:10

belated birthday wishes for yesterday Milo

Internet playing up here and in particular doesn't like MN which is a worry.
H is well and truly walking everywhere which is fun to watch and DD thinks it is brilliant that he can walk now.

Hope everyone doing ok and having a good weekend.

SilveryMoon · 07/02/2010 07:16

MOrning.
Happy Birthday Milo for yesterday.
Anyone today?

We went up to my FIL's yesterday. Was a nice day. I was upstairs with my MIL for a bit and came down to find Luke sitting on FIL's lap!!!!!!!!!!!!! (If you remember FIL has never been that openly interested in the boys)
Then we went to dp's friends house for a few hours which was nice too.
That's exciting as it gets here.
mos How is H now?

mumoverseas · 07/02/2010 08:06

morning SM
Good that your FIL is taking interest. My ILs couldn't give a flying f* about G & H
H is much better now thanks. still coughing a lot but we've not had to use the nebuliser for 2 days which is progress. I've just taken him out for a walk all around the compound delivering some letters for DH and he was all wrapped up with coat, gloves and hat with a blanket over him as its freezing. Hope it warms up by the weekend for his party.
Can't believe my little man will be one tomorrow

rosieposey · 07/02/2010 09:20

Morning all,
ended up getting a takeaway last night as DD3 decided she was going to have a tantrum ( 12 yr old hormonal one ) and i just didn't want to leave her two older sisters arguing with her, but the curry was still very nice!

MOS glad H is on the mend, DD3 suffers from asthma and only gets it when she gets a cold or chest infection but its bloody scary. Milo had a cold two weeks ago and was coughing all the time, given that DH and myself are both asthmatic he stands a good chance of getting it too - i really hope not though, its horrid.

Are you having a party for him too? Bless, that will be lovely for him, a few people came over to see Milo and bring him pressies. Im afraid i have the same probs as you with the inlaws though, they only live 10 mins away but didn't bother coming to see him on his birthday, i dont like either of them very much (and the feelings mutual) though so it suits me.

Today we are going to do some DIY as we have been here for nearly 8 weeks and there are still things that need putting up ect, fun, fun fun!
