Happy Birthday, LittleMasterNorty and Stan. And thanks for birthday wishes for my little swamp monster.

I have been horribly emotional with 'this time last years' for a while now.

We are about to have a small birthday party here. DH took the day off work and has made a fabulous butterscotch banana cake with cream cheese frosting. Shame lots of little people are going to come and eat it all up.

Hope all poorly little ones get better soon.

SilveryMoon · 02/02/2010 14:50

Have a good afternoon swampster

mumoverseas · 02/02/2010 14:54

wow, can't believe they are turning one already, happy birthday to all the birthday babies.

dinky hopefully all will be well with DS1 and it will be nothing to worry about.

PT/TITR, agree with dinky, celebrate on the 14th this year. Fabulous day as it was my lovely mum's birthday so will be a very odd and somewhat sad valentines day this year.

littlesez how scary about izzy. Like others have said, mothers instinct is always right.

KBN so glad you had a lovely weekend although very

SM where are you, very quiet. Hope you've not killed your DP and are banged up on remand

MS welcome back stranger. So will yours be the first announcement

H still poorly but thank god he appears to be getting a little better. Had an awful few days with him, numerous trips to the med centre and up a lot last night. He was checked out this morning and his chest is a little better but he is very croaky. Carrying on with ABs and various medicines and nebuliser and keeping fingers crossed he is better by his birthday next Monday.

A bit worried at the moment as DS1 is undergoing surgery which is due to start in 7 minutes (how sad am I counting the minutes). He is back in the UK and it is dental surgery as he has impacted teeth and needs three removing under a GA as one has grown horizontally under the roof of his mouth. Poor thing, he has never had an operation before and I feel terrible that I'm not there. Apparently he will be allowed to leave at 6pm and will then return to his boarding school so hopefully they will look after him

SilveryMoon · 02/02/2010 15:30

mos I'm here you cheeky monkey!
Glad H is on the mend.
Hope tonight is better.
Also sure ds1 will be ok. x

SilveryMoon · 02/02/2010 15:34
Confused
TulipsInTheRain · 02/02/2010 15:47

he he, i'll be using that one alot

dd's school had the president visiting today so i've been stuck in the school hall listening to speeches and kids singing songs. dd is exhausted and crying every 2 mins now.... far too long a school day for her.

katieblirdsnest · 02/02/2010 16:21

oh mos how horrible to be so far away from ds1. doesn't get any easier this mothering lark then?

sm how are things with your dp? i hope you've started to see a noticeable difference? did he take the boys off your hands at all this weekend?

dinky yet again you win top marks for remembering details. your knowledge of how people's babies came out is truly astounding...i bet you're a bit of a whizz at the what's on the tray memory game!

i'm in a permanent state of

SilveryMoon · 02/02/2010 16:25

KBN No he didn't, but he is working nights so I'll let him off, plus our toilet broke, so he had a long day on saturday fixing that so we didn't have to poo in a bucket!
He's off this weekend though, so we shall see. I know we're going up to Warwickshire to see his family on saturday, but fingers crossed for sunday!

elkiedee · 02/02/2010 22:56

Happy birthday Jake, Stan and anyone else?

This time a year ago Conor was on his way but didn't turn up until after midnight.

I thought we would take both boys out tomorrow but dp forgot to book leave and not to agree really important meetings, so we're going to have a midweek day out to celebrate next week instead.

A nice meal one day this weekend, and maybe I'll get round to baking a cake.

We're going to have a party but it will be towards the end of March - the venue which dp found is near Arsenal football ground and the only date in February we could have booked was vulnerable to being cancelled if Arsenal was playing at home that day. And it seemed too close to get it organised.

A friend from the breastfeeding group whose son turns 1 on Thursday had a very nice party for him on Sunday. The local community centre has a baby/toddler group and they were able to borrow the group's toys. None of us wanted to go home, sadly we had to leave a bit early to get a train (my friend moved out to Hertfordshire in the summer).

elkiedee · 02/02/2010 23:07

Anyone else getting sibling jealousy? Danny said tonight that he wants it to be his birthday tomorrow too!

mumoverseas · 03/02/2010 05:24

morning all
SM I crossed posted with you yesterday. Glad you are not on remand you were just a bit quiet.

Apparently DS1's surgery went ok. Got a text late last night from his dad saying 'out of surgery, a bit dozy and not talking much but that is normal'. Think he would have been discharged around 7pm and then back to his boarding school around 8pm by which time I was asleep as our 11pm so didn't get to talk to him. Mind you, H decided at midnight he didn't want to sleep anymore so have been up since then with him walking around with him and cuddling him. DH couldn't understand why I was so pi**ed of with him (DH not H) this morning when I woke him up after he'd had over 8 hours sleep

No sibling jealousy here (yet!) no doubt there will be on Monday when H gets presents.

Hope all doing ok and little ones are being kind to you

SilveryMoon · 03/02/2010 07:23

We have massive jealousy issues here anyway, maybe it's because of the age gap........but I have a little present for Jacob to have tomorrow (Luke's birthday) and he has a party bag for the party too.
Today I have to go shopping for the last bits and get the presents wrapped.
mos Glad ds1 is ok and surgery went well.

swampster · 03/02/2010 08:39

Happy Birthday Conor and FrankStretch - anyone else today?

dinkystinky · 03/02/2010 08:56

Happy birthday to Frank-stretch and Conor-dee: wishing the bubbas many happy returns of the day and the mummas many fond memories of today (and lots of birthday sleep!). From memory Pempe also had her little man today - she's still on FB but not on here anymore I dont think.

MOS - glad DS1's op went well. Am sure the infirmary at his school are taking good care of him. Sorry H is still not sleeping though - is the nanny coming today? Will you be able to catch 40 winks during the day?

Elkiedee - we have jealousy issues here, but mainly Danny wanting whatever his big brother has. Has anyone else's little ones started having tantrums yet? Danny has little mini tantrums and wails when being told no or me taking something dangerous/he has snatched off DS1 off him - his "outraged from Tunbridge Wells" face is hilarious.

Hope you all have good days today.

dinkystinky · 03/02/2010 08:57

Ps loving the new face - think it pretty much sums up all of us who are trying to figure out why our 1 year olds/soon to be 1 year olds are suddenly fighting sleep so much...

LittleMissNorty · 03/02/2010 10:38

We need a FFS face rather than a one!

Happy birthday to Frankie and Conor

My LO was so tired after nursery, he just wanted to go to bed. DD however, was beside herself with excitment and blew out the candle less than half way through Happy Birthday

Glad DS1 is OK MOS - sounds painful!

TulipsInTheRain · 03/02/2010 13:05

no sibling jealousy here, i've always been extremely lucky with my kids in that sense. ds1 has decided he wants to buy A a duck for his birthday and both of the older ones are quite cross that A isn't having a party too..... apparantly he'll be sad without one

mos... glad your ds1's op went well, hopefully he'll be more comfortable with the teeth removed now.

dinky.... A has utterly mastered tantrums. we were at the SALT yesterday and he wandered over and started pulling tissues out of a packet on the floor and i said 'ah-ah A, don't do that' and he completely flipped... he poor SALT is heavily pregnant and judging by her face while he was screaming it's her first

mumoverseas · 03/02/2010 14:38

happy birthday Frankie and Conor and any others.
Am I right in thinking there are a few tomorrow? Seem to recall 4th Feb was a popular date for CSs last year.

still not spoken to DS1 but had a few very short emails from him. He has been in bed all day on orders of hospital and can't have any hot drinks. He ate something at lunchtime and feels sick now but I think that can be quite normal with GAs. I know he is 16 but he is still my PFB

No rest today. Had to go out and do a huge food shop and buy lots of stuff for H's party which we are having on 12th Feb (our Sunday) Thankfully my friend let me borrow her driver so I didn't have to struggle on the bus. Hussain the driver is fab and when I go into Carrefour he pushes the trolly for me whilst I have H so I can get so much more stuff than if on my own. I miss Tescos home delivery (but not their stupid substitutes)

TulipsInTheRain · 03/02/2010 18:51

ouch... A just threw himself down in a strop on the floor but hit the dishwasher on the way down and has cut his gum so badly a chunk of it is hanging down by a thread.... lots of blood involved. it's right by the tooth he's already chipped too.... he seems to have it in for that tooth!

SilveryMoon · 03/02/2010 20:03

tulips poor A hope he's ok.
I've just wrapped Luke's birthday presents. Can't believe he'll be a year old in 4 hours, 36 minutes!
This time last year, I was bored and hungry in the hospital waiting for everything to start.

katieblirdsnest · 03/02/2010 20:28

ow, ow, ow that sounds so horrible tulips. sm enjoy your day tomorrow, i hope luke has a lovely birthday.

dinkystinky · 03/02/2010 20:46

Ugh, poor A Tulips - hope he recovers quickly from his accident. Poor little man.

Happy birthday for Luke for tomorrow SM - hope he has a fabulous day

elkiedee · 03/02/2010 21:55

Hope Frank had a good birthday

Yes, I think Conor has been having a few strops, usually when I take whatever unsuitable "toy" he's playing with off me.

SilveryMoon · 04/02/2010 06:12

This is it. Luke is 1 year old
I'm sat here now waiting for the monkey's to get up. Sod's law isn't it that the one day I'm awake and with it they want a bloody lay-in!
At least it gives me time to mn in peace make a start on the food for the party.

Right, I can hear the littlest man coughing. Sssshhhhhhhh

LittleMissNorty · 04/02/2010 08:17

Happy birthday Luke - and hope party goes well

Hope A is ok PT!

E had me up from 1.30 - 3.30am......shattered!
