OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SilveryMoon · 27/01/2010 09:35

I have 6 children comng here for Luke's birthday (8 including mine) and I've told everyone to bring a small play tent with them (if they have 1) so we can make a little theme/activity park. There will be different things in each tent, balls in 1, moisy toys in another, soft toys, colouring or play-doh ,etc etc depending on how many tents I can fit in my living room.
I'm also going to hve a toddler cd on and have the musical instruments out so should be a crazy day!!!!!!
It starts at 1pm as the kids all have dance club 12-1 and we'll come straight here after. Can't wait

elkiedee · 27/01/2010 10:41

Great news re chat silvery. And your plans for the party sound great, I wish you could come and organise Conor's.

littlesez · 27/01/2010 20:56

oh my gosh birthday! what to do really wnat to take her somewhere nice for the day. hope all is ok reaaaaaaallllly tired trying to do a million things on very little sleep speak again soon properly xxx

katieblirdsnest · 27/01/2010 21:47

sm hope things get much better soon with you and your dp. sounds like things are moving in the right direction.

i've just typed up the list for my parents for when they come to look after the dcs this weekend as it's now only 2 sleeps till Rome. Yippee!!!

dinkystinky · 28/01/2010 09:33

Danny slept relatively well last night - awake at 11.30 for an hour then asleep till just before 6 - however bastard neighbour next door (musician, who has an 8 year old daughter so am really surprised at him) was playing music really loudly between 3 and 5.30 this morning which woke me up - and DS1. Grr. First time has happened in 2 years so will give him a free pass this time but if it happens again he will feel the wrath of dinky...

Littlesez - we took DS1 to the zoo for his first birthday. He loved it, especially the aquarium (take in a baby carrier so they're the right height to see things).

SilveryMoon - party sounds fab.

katieblirdsnest · 28/01/2010 10:42

oh dinky that's just not fair...what would have been your first good night in so long.

ds has been a bit d&v for the last few days. got quite bad on tues so stopped all food and milk yesterday save for one piece of bread. i gave him diarolyte to drink and he woke a couple of times in the night not happy that he was being given more water rather than milk. when he woke properly this morning at 6.30 he was FURIOUS at the lack of food so dp gave him bread and a banana. he still seems a bit whingy but i'm thinking of trying him back on milk after his lunch sleep. any advice/thoughts?

dinkystinky · 28/01/2010 10:49

Oh no your poor DS KBN - if he's furious he isnt getting food, chances are he's feeling better.

I'd start off on diluted milk - for example if 7 oz of water, do 5 scoops of formula and work up to full strength if he doesnt react badly to the first couple of bottles. Stick to dry toast, banana, boiled/jacket potato, rice for DS and avoid dairy (other than milk) for another couple of days.

SilveryMoon · 28/01/2010 19:20

dinky Git!
kbn poor ds. I've never stopped milk and food with bugs, I'm not brave enough to face the whinging!
No advice I'm afraid, but I have been told the best thing to do is withold milk, but maybe things that you can't go wrong with like dry toast, or plain pasta etc if he needs food...

SilveryMoon · 29/01/2010 08:17

I'm having a moment.

I love you ladies. You have been a great pillar of strength and support these past couple of years and I really think I'd be worse off without you all in my life.
Thank you for everything you have all done for me. xxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxx

dinkystinky · 29/01/2010 09:41

SilveryMoon - love you too

I think our Fab Feb lot really are a fabulous bunch - and love that our board is still going strong(ish) a whole year or so after our little ones made their appearance in this world.

TulipsInTheRain · 29/01/2010 10:12

chilledmama · 29/01/2010 17:02

chilledmama · 30/01/2010 04:43

Hi Dinky, thankyou for the stiargate stuff...sadly no, I'm still working on it...I think the idea of putting it up higher is good but I'll have to measure carefully!

Niamh is gorgeous...eats everything that her gumbs will allow (still no teeth...not one)...and kind of sleeps...kind of! Oh what I wouldn't give for 6 hours on the trot!!!!!
How are things in the Dinky household??

mumoverseas · 30/01/2010 06:09

hello all and welcome back CM SM glad you and DP have talked. sounds promising. Your birthday party idea of the playtents sounds fab and I may/will steal it. Have just finally sorted out H's birthday for Friday 12th (our Sunday) not many babies here, only around 6 so will invite them and a lot of DD's friends and friends of ours. Have organised caterers to do hot dogs and burgers for kids and schwarmers (like donnor kebabs but MUCH nicer) for the adults. Will have a bar in the garden (26 degrees here now) and have booked a big bouncy castle for the bigger kids and have a small one for H and his friends that we bought when DD was 1.

Now, we just have to hope the little buggers are better by then! DD still under the weather, coughing every 5 mins and as expected (thanks to her coughing in Hs face all the time) he now has it. He has had it 2 days now and when he coughs really badly he is sick He hasn't slept for more than 1 hour at a time in the last two days so on the verge of a breakdown.
To make it worse, DH is going on a base visit tomorrow, leaving at 5am back around 8pm. Oh deep joy.

dinky your neighbour sounds like a crazy arse. Hope it was a one off.

Right, off to take gruesome twosome to crappy little compound supermarket or we will starve (well I will, DD has only eaten 1 3/4 poached eggs, 24 grapes and 1/4 of a hot dog since Monday)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and very of KBN

SilveryMoon · 30/01/2010 09:41

chilled good to see you
(I'm littleboyblue btw)
littlesez hope Izzy's a bit better today.
mos poor you! Hope the lo's have an ok day!

I was about to say that Luke had a rough night, but he woke at 4am and I got him in bed with me and he settled straight away so I'll just shut up!

I bought a new toddler music cd for the party. An on the farm one so should be lots of fun.

Gotta pull my finger out now. Jacob has dance group at 12, so we need to get dressed, get a bit of housework done, get Luke down for a nap, have a bit of lunch, and get out of here!

dinkystinky · 30/01/2010 10:13

Ah, that's lovely to hear Chilledmama - Danny is also a duff sleeper (up every 3 hours last night) but fortunately brilliant and adorable in other ways. DS1 was a glacial teether and reached 1 with no teeth -then they came in fast succession when they did come, but he was a hell of alot better with teething than Danny (who has 5 and a half and tends to go insomniac when teething badly). Things are good otherwise in Dinky house - DH off in US with work till Sunday but MIL has come to keep me company with little ones for the today. Taking them to a puppet show later this morning and swimming this afternoon.

Silverymoon - the latest dance/music obsession for DS1 and Danny in the dinky house is " The Wiggles". Take a look at them online. I swear its like small child catnip DS1 is OBSESSED with them now - keeps pretending he is now blue wiggle and I am no longer mummy but now purple wiggle (still I guess it makes a change Just booked tickets to take the kids to go see them in concert in London in July.

LittleSez - sorry Izzy is still under the weather. Hope work isnt too chaotic when you go in.

MOS - sorry G is still poorly and H is poorly too now. Hope they both are on the mend soon. Good luck with the supermarket trip.

dinkystinky · 30/01/2010 10:13

Sorry - meant to say still I guess it makes a change from playing Charlie and Lola for hours on end above - got distracted by blue wiggle!

TulipsInTheRain · 30/01/2010 18:47

can we have a round of applause please.... A finally had his 6 month jabs

the poor sod had the 5in1, meningitis and PCV all at once, three jabs with 7 diseases he's coping well though, he was a bit hot last night and i think he has a sore head today as he won't sleep and keeps rubbing his head behind his right ear

mos.... wow , that party will put the rest of us to shame

chilled, my dd had no teeth either at this stage but then got 8 all in one go the week of her birthday

SilveryMoon · 30/01/2010 19:03

dinky will take a look at the wiggles tomorrow then.
tulips Poor A! Hope he's ok.

mumoverseas · 31/01/2010 08:07

Dear god, it never sodding rains does it (actually though, looking out of window, it is sunny here)
DD is much better although still a little 'coldy' but at least is back at nursery today. H however, is really ill now. Was a bit worried about his cough yesterday so got a drs appt for 3.45pm and DH took him for what we thought was a 5 min appointment whilst I took DD to ballet. He finally returned an hour later having had H on a nebuliser for 30 mins and then had to take him back at 8pm last night. Med centre shuts at 6pm so they opened up especially for us.
Terrible night and of course DH had to leave at 4.45am to drive up to Dhahran to a base there and will be back at around 8pm. I had to take H to go back on the nebuliser at 9am and going back at 12.15 and then no doubt this afternoon and evening.
Christ I'm tired. Hope my little man is better soon, only 8 days til his birthday.

Can't believe all the birthdays have started. Right, who is next then for another

SilveryMoon · 31/01/2010 08:27

mos poor H. You must be exhausted!!!!!

mumoverseas · 31/01/2010 10:18

Fuck, fuck, fuckity fuck!
Took H back to the med centre for nebuliser and have to go back at 4.30pm. The nurse said that it is obviously helping but only in short bursts so for around an hour after he has it he can breathe properly and then gets worse again. She said he may need a spell of 2 days in an oxygen tent in hospital they will discuss further at 4.30
