morning everyone
happy anniversary for yesterday caz

oooggs · 23/10/2009 08:59

15 years caz!!!! you don't seem old enough

I am applying for a 5 year career break. Work are reducing my grade so it is either promotion (which would be fine if I intending on going back) or 'other tasks' filing, post, data input, cleaning the toilet etc and I would be bored (basically going back a grade on the same pay)

I fancy being a teaching assistant when Luke is older, maybe starting volunteering when he starts pre school at 3. My degree (which I didn't do start was to be a teacher).

Had a good night with the girlies last night at the chinese & pub. 6 of us and we really needed it.

Good luck with the shoe shopping sol (pet hate of mine)

morning Katy - how are those beautiful children this morning?

MIL did the school run as she is down visiting, dh made the bookcase and dressing table last night and it is better than I thought. We have toddlers this morning 10-11.30 & twins club this afternoon 1.15-2.45 then school run and I must get to the post office.

So whats everyone else up to?????????

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 23/10/2009 09:03

morning
Hope you get your career break! Don't understand what you mean about fine if you intended going back though, sorry, explain!
We're all OK this morning thanks. DH's car has been being fixed since earlier this week, we thought it would be next Thursday but it's ready now! If they drop it off in time I'll go to the breastfeeding group - just need to figure out how to fit the car seat without the base

elkiedee · 23/10/2009 10:45

Congratulations for yesterday Caz

Good luck with getting the career break Oooggs.

Today is my last day of maternity leave (I will be on annual leave on Monday). C has been having a nap but is just waking up so will get him ready to go to the drop in round the corner. Am hoping DHL will redeliver a box of books before I set out,
they came 5 minutes after I left the house yesterday according to the card. Would be less annoyed but there were 2 boxes sent at the same time according to The Book People and they delivered one when I was in on Wednesday morning, and then the other when I was out that afternoon, don't understand the point!

Also got a call from my brother who is meant to be dropping in but is notorious for being hours late, I wish he'd got in touch sooner about being down or not at all, I hate waiting and wondering if something's going to happen.

Hi all

I got my box of books finally at 11 am this morning, lots of stuff for Danny and Conor - Danny was very excited when he spotted the new books and wanted to take them all up with him though it might have been a bedtime delaying tactic.

Got to see my brother and his girlfriend very briefly at about 12, went to two Children's Centres and a friend's house for tea and scones.

I can't believe my maternity leave is over already, sob!

SPB, I hope your name is just in honour of Halloween, I find it quite worrying.

runnyhabbit · 24/10/2009 09:26

The day has not started well...

W woke at 6.20, but instead of coming into bed for cuddle (as usual), he wanted to play
7am J woke, took them straight downstairs - dh still asleep

Now bearing in mind J has swimming lessons at 9.30, which is dh "job" You'd think he'd be up, sorting breakfast etc... Oh no. Everything is done for him, and he still complains whenh he's running late

Bloody men

And J fell down the last 3 stairs on the way out He's fine, but both boys are buggers for playing on the stairs. Kind of hope it's taught a lesson, iyswim.

Oh well, lets hope it gets better

oooggs · 24/10/2009 13:18

Katy - I have never bothered with promotion as I 'hadn't finished my family' well now I have (you'll be pleased to know) and promotion would be good, different work & more pay, but as I don't intend to return to that type of work it is a waste of time filling in the forms and doing the tests.

ds1 at a party, dh at work, ds3 asleep and dts fighting playing nicely together!!!!

Erins room is finished apart from the finishing bits (teddies, books, clothes) so tonight she is in her bed. Cleaver dh who built it and dismantled her cot, then buggered off to work til midnight . Hope it goes ok.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 25/10/2009 07:48

hi everyone
Hope all OK
Internet connection incredibly slow to non existent so will be back when DH has had words with ISP xx

leakyR · 25/10/2009 15:44

Oooh quiet.

Had 4 hrs sleep last night. Iris has got a horrid cold. She's sneezing, coughing and throwing up from mucous. She had a slight fever last night, so I banished dh and had her on my bed. She just couldn't settle for long without sneezing or coughing and was wailing like an air raid siren because of tiredness. Poor lamb. Tonight has to be better. Please!

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 26/10/2009 08:15

aargh T just vomited
Hope I is better today leaky

cazboldy · 26/10/2009 10:11

Hope all the poorly babbys are better soon xxx

I am Mum to a 13 year old it's ds1's birthday today!

ScarletBandit · 26/10/2009 12:32

Hi ladies I am back from my hols and I am bloody freezing! It was mid thirties in Cyprus so coming back to the cold weather has been a bit of a shock to my system.
I had an ok time, but found spending such a lot of time in close proximity of my parents tough going if I am totally honest. Don't think I would be inviting them again any time soon.

Hope everyone is ok. Haven't caught up yet as I am only just barely peeking out above a Mount Everest sized pile of washing!

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 26/10/2009 14:22

happy birthday caz's DS1
Welcome back SB!
Just found out my maternity leave cover (existing member of team) will be on paternity leave in May

leakyR · 26/10/2009 19:09

Last night was not better. 2 hours sleep. DD finally settled at 4.30 and ds woke up at 6.30. Took dd to gp who says her ears amd throat are red, but chest is clear. She has a URTI so will probably be keeping me awake for another couple of nights before she feels better.

Hope T is ok SPB.

Caz, happy birthday to your ds1. Your family spans from teenager to toddler, you brave lady!

oooggs · 26/10/2009 19:18

Bramshott · 27/10/2009 17:37

Hello all - we're quiet ! Happy birthday to Caz's DS1 (and no, of course you don't look old enough to be the parent of a teenager!)

All fine here - softplay with DDs yesterday, then working today and tomorrow, DH off Thurs & Fri. Trying frantically not to get annoyed with a colleague who constantly seems to rub me up the wrong way!

oooggs · 27/10/2009 19:40

Kids all in bed - just found a magna doodle with 'nasty mummy, I love daddy' written on it

leakyR · 27/10/2009 21:02

Disgruntled dc? Or dh blowing his own trumpet?

CaptainDippy · 27/10/2009 23:19

Welcome back SB.

Happy birthday James, and wow Caz at you being the mum of a teenager.

Get better soon sick babies.

I started back at work today, I only cried twice at the thought of having left Conor. He seems fine though, he was happily sitting on CM's lap when I arrived at the house to collect them both, and D gave me a hug, which I was very happy about - oogggs, sorry to hear about magnadoodle, but D definitely prefers dp to me too .

cazboldy · 28/10/2009 11:22

Oh Oooggs ((((hugs))))

My James seems to hate everybody atm - especially me!

but he had a great birthday

Well done for managing to get back to work Elkie. xxx

Bramshott · 28/10/2009 11:25

Wow - back to work already Elkie!! Hope it's going okay. Are the boys with the same CM?

elkiedee · 28/10/2009 11:46

Bramshott, yes, they are together, which is great because I know how good she is with Danny and it's made introducing her to Conor a lot easier, he already seems to be very comfortable there, I arrived yesterday to find him sitting on her husband's knee. It's a very affectionate family atmosphere and I can't believe I was so lucky to find her.
