Evening all

Not potty training here. J didn't til he was 2.9 (which was later than quite a few friends, iykwim) but he went straight to being dry day and night.

Weather pants here too.

Not much else to report. Dh working late, and the boys are sleeping over at my mums.

Speak soon x

oooggs · 26/11/2009 19:36

I am not 'doing' Jack until after Christmas - one to watch is enough

I have just booked Santa by steam for us 6 and my parents for the morning of the 24th December, then carvery at the local pub for midday, walk in the afternoon, buffet tea, new pjs and Christmas Madagascar dvd early evening then dh and I can relax and drink Baileys watching crap tv for the rest of the night - well it will be my birthday

Luke is pulling himself up to standing he is still a baby!!!!

The lady up the road, who is buying all Lukes stuff off me (& Erins cot), well their grandson was due mid January and came last night at 33+4 - he is in neo natal care and will be for about a month, hope he squeaks home for Christmas

runny - doesn't J have school tomorrow?

Anyone else find this time of year stressful?

StealthPolarBear · 26/11/2009 19:54

is he ok otherwise oooggs?
you know what'll happen when you sell all the baby stuff ...
runny, how did J do dry at night? did he just start waking when he needed a wee?

oooggs · 26/11/2009 20:31

As far as I am awar he is fine - don't even know his name yet

Baby stuff gone Katy, only girls stuff is what Erin is wearing or is too big for her and boys 0-9mths gone and the baby gym, cot, and the sling and sterliser are going to them when I have finished.

Not practical to have anymore - wouldn't be able to decide who was to share a bedroom .

Bramshott · 26/11/2009 20:31

Oh wow Oooggs - that's exactly what Niamh was (33+4). Hope he is doing okay.

Your birthday plans sound lovely.

I am just trying to arrange and book several nights out with NCT friends! Wonder if I am brave enough to organise one for all the Yr 2 mums at school?!?

oooggs · 26/11/2009 20:34

you are mad Bramshott - I am struggling to organise all the childrens stuff (plays concerts etc...), ds1's birthday (11th), my birthday (24th) Christmas Day (25th ) no way I could fit in anything remotely social, especially with dh going away on the 20th until 23rd!!!!

oooggs · 26/11/2009 20:35

Bramshott - any advise as you have been there before with N?

Sexonlegs · 26/11/2009 21:03

Hi loves.

Nice to see a few posts

The weather is dreadful isn't it. Can't believe you even contemplate hanging washing out Bramshott! I have organised our year 2 night out. Really looking forward to it as well

Oooggs, your birthday plans sound lovely.

Enjoy your night Runny

Dh away again last night and tonight and K was in bed with me from 4.30- she refused to go back to her own bed.

Knackered!!

Anyway, hope all are well. xx

runnyhabbit · 27/11/2009 16:35

Evening all

Oooggs - Yes J did have school today, but mum does the school run for me on a Friday (inc giving them their breakfast) so as she has said, it's kind of easier for her, if their already there. Tbh she has them most Thursday nights (inc next week as I'm out on the piss for a civilised drink)

Bramshott - You are a braver woman than me organising a school night out

As for Christmas presents - well the boys are pretty much done, pil sorted, my parents are being a pita (won't give us any ideas) Then we only buy for our 3 nieces and nephew.

And I've just picked up a Scalextric set for dh. He got very nostalgic and excited when he watched that James May programme about them. Can you imagine all 3 of them playing with it Hoping it will mean I get a few hours to myself.....

Bramshott · 27/11/2009 16:40

Oooggs - We found it not too hard with N at that gestation, as she was a good weight (4lbs 11) and had no other problems so after the first night, there wasn't really a question of if she was coming home, just of when. She was in SCBU for 3 weeks.

It undoubtedly would have been much harder if she'd been DC2 or more, as we spent a lot of time at the hospital and didn't get many chances to eat etc! Leaving her there was the hardest bit .

Can't think of anything terribly useful to add, but do ask if there's anything specific she/they would like to know. It would all have been 100x easier if I'd been on Mumsnet then of course ! Ange's DS1 was a very similar gestation I think, but possibly smaller. Both are now strapping 6 yr olds!

runnyhabbit · 27/11/2009 16:41

Sorry SPB, missed your post

Once he was in pants, he didn't want to wear any kind of nappy (fair enough really, as we'd been telling him pants were for big boys etc) So we just made sure he had a wee before he went to bed, protected the mattress, and let him wear pants to bed as well for a few weeks. Didn't wet the bed, or wake up in the night. Doesn't wear pants now to bed, and has only wet the bed on a handful of occassions. If he does need a wee in the night, he does come and get me or dh, cos he's a little bit scared of the dark.

Bramshott · 27/11/2009 16:42

Runny - I am not actually organising it yet - just mulling it over ! It would be really nice to do, but there is quite a diverse group of mums, so I'm a bit scared! Then again, I am probably the best person to do it as N goes on the taxi so I am never in the playground and am blissfully unaware of playground politics!

SOL on the other hand has already organised hers, so she is the brave one !

elkiedee · 27/11/2009 22:47

Hi all

Good news is Charleymouse and Harriet got home safely a few days ago. Oooggs has mentioned the sad story that one of her twins from two years ago didn't survive.

This has not been a good week in this house though. The childminder called me at work on Tuesday to say both D and C were ill, and we took them to the GP's on Wednesday, told to take C back next day if his temperature didn't come down with Calpol alone, were prescribed Tamiflu for possible swine flu for C yesterday. Then in the afternoon British Gas came to service our central heating boiler and turned it off and condemned it. They gave us a so-called "emergency" appointment for Monday and that's only to survey and tell us about how much to get a new one.

We finally found a contractor from another firm who came today and is going to come back to make our boiler and the ventilation safe to use for the moment on Monday. We will probably have to have a totally new boiler installed next year but hopefully we can get through the winter first and plan that work (quite a major undertaking in this case) for late spring/early summer.

Posting quickly before I need to go shower and then dress up as an Elf!!

Busy times for you Oooggs, your plans sound great that wee Luke is pulling himself up to standing!!!!! NOOOOOO!! Great that you have got someone to buy your baby stuff though! My DD2 was born at 34 weeks, she had lots of trouble feeding (didn't feed on delivery suite, tube fed and poss. tongue tie); but was ok apart from that. She was born at 4lb 8oz and the lowest she dropped to was 4lb. She was in SCBU for three-ish weeks, so bubs could definitely be out in time for Christmas My biggest piece of advice is for the grandparents to make sure the mum is getting good breast-feeding support (if she is BFing). I had very little and DD2 never really fed properly NCT might be a good port of call if hospital help is crap. Most hospital have a trained MW who specialises in infant feeding, so worth asking. HTH!!?

Sorry for waffle, need to go Elf myself ....

StealthPolarBear · 28/11/2009 15:16

lol at elf yourself
elkie, glad CM and H are home. You must be so stressed with all that's going on, hope C&D are well again vey soon and the new boiler's not too expensive.

StealthPolarBear · 29/11/2009 18:08

someone keep me company

oooggs · 29/11/2009 19:31

I'm here! Not that that is very exciting

I'm ordering masses of sweets and other christmas presents this evening

Some places charge a shocking amount for delivery, just went to order my nephews some Odeon vouchers, £10 each (2 of them) and they wanted £5 for delivery so i'll be taking a trip down there

POTC · 29/11/2009 23:20

Went to MN xmas do last night, you'll be pleased to hear there were no nork competitions this year, largely due to the absence of morningpaper, mars and flame
new emoticon would have been perfect though

POTC · 29/11/2009 23:22

you're blardy useless too, where was my text informing me of my lazyarse absence and telling me to get my arse back here cos the baby bear had arrived ?????
You'll be pleased to know you were mentioned at the last parent/teacher meeting at school - told them they should do a walking bus cos it worked well in your village!

Eddas · 29/11/2009 23:27

I think i'll bugger off again, fancy calling me a tightarse and useless all in one post

Glad to hear your spreading the walking bus idea, I just enjoy telling people I drop dd to the pub in the mornings

POTC · 29/11/2009 23:29
